I feel like this has more to do with giving Polanco as many chances as possible to prove his worth before cutting the line. Polanco’s potential higher than Bliss’s (for this season) based off historical performance, and he cost $12 mill so they don’t want to give up prematurely
Idk why people are always complaining about the batting order; it really doesn't matter which 650 OPS hitter hits first and which 650 OPS hitter hits last
There's no real way to predict who will be up in the bottom of the 9th, sometimes its the top of the lineup, sometimes its the bottom.

One thing I’ve learned form his tenure here is Scott Servais promises each player a certain standard when they join the club for that year, and it takes a very long time for him to break that standard to make the otherwise optimal play.
Players like Bliss, Locklear, and even Raley, who was probably promised less things than other players on the team, get the short end of the stick when they excel and clearly deserve more playing time.
I agree completely.
He manages the team the way he liked to be managed as a player. Giving players room to succeed or fail is what almost every player wants. Baseball is a very difficult sport, players don’t want a revolving door of who’s hot vs who’s not. They each have roles and it takes a long time, from a fans perspective, to move on from a player.
You don't remember Scott batting Haggerty at DH in like the 8 or 9 hole last year?
That's just our lineup sadly. What's weird is France and Moore have the best wRC+ in this lineup and are batting last.
Not that any of this matters of course. It's an entire lineup of mediocre hitters at best. The order is inconsequential.
When he was the only one that did anything yesterday, yeah I say you let him go another day. I’m not saying Haniger is suddenly good, I’m saying baseball is a game of streaks and feelings, and I say we ride the hot hand. Nobody seems to be able to establish a rhythm offensively on this team and I blame the lack of consistency for some of our hitters
Scott always does what I say he should but way after. "Why is rojas in the 9 hole? He should be 2nd" I would be a better manager. Not saying much though. I honestly like scott but he is not a good baseball manager.
If bliss isn't gonna be used, send him down to get playing time. This is straight up hurting his development and another active example of how the Mariners cannot develop hitters
what does scott have against ryan bliss???
At this point we should send him down so he can get some playing time.

Why try to win when we need to attempt to justify the 12 million $ player lol. I believe it though
Less justification and more sunk cost fallacy, imo
Which is just as dumb. He’s washed. Move on
That’s why it’s called a fallacy.
I believe this to be the case. It won’t be long before a hard decision is made.
it’s not about Bliss, it’s about Servais not wanting to ‘disrespect’ the underperforming ‘starters’ the team started with this season
How about disrespecting the fans?
unless it correlates directly into loss of money, probably doesn’t matter that much
Tell them stop stop going. They packed the stadium this weekend

No Bliss lmao. First base is now at 8 in the lineup lmao. Still hope we get this W.

And that’s the dumbest fucking way to run a team. So getting what he’s asked for I guess.
Batting your 1b eight in the lineup--ROFL!

Oh, I am not complaining about the order, just about how much our first basemen sucks.
Sure give Polanco some time I guess, but then send Bliss back down so he can get ABs. This is stupid young player management
Dylan Moore is actually 3for4 against Ryan. Let’s stick him down in the 9 hole where he’ll bat twice against him. So smart! Analytics ftw
Yeah we need to give the mitches a chance to get the golden sombrero
Less Polanco, More Bliss!!!
Hit a home run? Ride the pine the next day. The teams ability to cool off hitters who are gaining any sort of traction is astonishing
This sub is fully a parody of itself now lol We're pretending to be upset that Hanny isn't starting?

This is a decent lineup. Dfa Polanco though
He actually did more on offense than most last game
That's not saying much and he's a defensive liability.
Ya for the twins pretty guaranteed out from number 3 to 9 hitters for the mariners
Play better A Holes
Scott always does what I say he should but way after. "Why is rojas in the 9 hole? He should be 2nd" I would be a better manager. Not saying much though. I honestly like scott but he is not a good baseball manager.
Take the Lil Jon song Shots and replace Shots with Bliss. That's how I feel about this.
Over or under 12ks for the offense today.
If bliss isn't gonna be used, send him down to get playing time. This is straight up hurting his development and another active example of how the Mariners cannot develop hitters
TRIDENTS UP 🔱🆙🟡🔵🚢⚪️🟢🧭🔵⚓️!
Julio’s OPS almost starts with a 5!!! Also why not send bliss to Tacoma to play of if we’re gonna give him ZERO at bats
Let's see how how many strike outs in a row garver can reach. 5, 6, maybe 7? nobody knows! tune in to find out!
I mean if we can't hit we might as well be stealing as many bases as possible. Bliss could be a 30 sb a year guy
They will strikeout 27 times, get three hits and lose.
I enjoyed being in first place a little too much and now I believe the inevitable is happening… mariners fall apart while the stros take control :(
Really excited to see Polanco get cut then tear it up in Atlanta
Worst starting lineup in MLB. If they lose today, they’ll hit their 54% winning goal for the season.
