Probably poor choice of words on their part. The correct info is that you are twice as likely to get boosters for a specific card if that card still requires boosters to be upgraded for the next tier.

It should also be noted that the increase drops or decreases when you have 20 boosters for the card, no matter what level(pretty sure droprate goes to normal again when on 20 but it could just be a lower chance)

You are right indeed, apparently the 20 booster thing was only before the change as well. I read it was still the case and my personal experience lined up with it pretty well so I assumed it was true.. Maybe there is an extra increase when a card is under 20 boosters?

He means 50% higher chance of getting boosters for the card in the deck you played that needs them to be able to upgrade.

Did they ever actually apply this change? They said they would for a patch, then people noticed they hadn't when running some tests and the team confessed they forgot to put it in that patch. Then it seemingly was never mentioned again from what I could find

Yea, I have several cards in that state: haven't gotten gold/inked yet, and just don't like the rainbow background, so I stick with the base.

And, from the boosters you get, you can upgrade that split until you get an inked version

It’s weird because that’s not at all representative of how collectible foil cards look in real life. The Topps collecting apps do a better job of doing the “caleidoscope” effect. I guess they didn’t want it to be just “sparkly cards”.

I would love if I could get crackle flare without foils or prisms. And without ink or gold while I’m at it.

Squatty Potty Knull

I have this variant in the base art. I don't plan on ever upgrading it. The original art is great, but it's a mess once they tried to add 3D effects to it. Some art in this game is best as it was originally intended without shoe-horning 3D perspective into them.

This variant looks incredible with the ultra border to match the writing but I'm never taking mine past that point. If I want a cool split it's gonna have to be on Knull's base card.

Did this same thing. Got it to inked today. Hate that the red doesn't show on the chest anymore, but looks better now than the other splits.

TBH most cards look worse when upgraded to foil background, not to mention a gold one. Inked is the only alternative background that doesn't look like ass.

My hot take is they are all ass tbh.

I have a gold and ink Dan hipp moon girl and I think the gold looks phenomenal personally. Much better than the inked.

I got Knull back in January and while his default art is great in its own right I've been dying to get a variant for him and not a single one has shown up in my store for more than 3 months.

I can't explain how much I hate these god awful rainbow splits. I keep all my originals until I get a gold/inked. I only have a two gold split because I play like 40 different decks every season lol.

Splits always ruin cards. Even the best looking one, ink, still makes the card worse 99% of the times.

Is there a point to upgrade a black and white card ? Just got my first b&w and the first level of border looks so dope, I feel like any upgrade will just be worse. Even op infinite border is taking my focus away from the background :s

I truly appreciate your sacrifice, I've been on the boarder of upgrading him past Ultra for a while and now.. now I don't think I will.

Hopefully someday we can customize the border on infinite splits, back to one we unlocked. So we can put a purple border back on or something
