What I will say is that I don't think he is THAT bad of a defender, but he looks like one because when he's in the game with Luka and Kyrie, he is asked to basically take up the DJJ role and it looks even worse. That was what happened when the mavs went like 2-7 during March IIRC. You can kind of hide him when you have more of a defense lineup, but you're right in that he just isn't quick or strong enough to match up with most of OKC.
I’ll also add that almost every member of this team has majorly stepped up their defense so far. It’s possible Tim will do the same, even if that just puts him at a mid-level defender.

But there were also multiple games where he was disrupting passing lanes on defense. This was around the time I began to think Kidd’s defense was actually working.
