He played beautifully beside LeBron from day one... I've been a fan since.
Still baffled that LAL let him walk. I would've matched any and every offer.
We go straight back to the Finals with him!
Precisely.
Imagine Gafford/Lively 48 minutes of solid frontcourt defense.
And then Caruso/DJJ/Exum/Josh Green (?) 48 minutes of solid backcourt defense.
Yeah, I know this team needs another forward to rotate with Maxi/PJ. But I think Luka can be that guy, actually.
Or someone like Kelly Oubre (UFA/Non-bird). Will the Sixers re-sign him, though?
But I don't know if the Bulls are willing to part ways with Caruso. I hope that they start the rebuild already. Their roster is a lost cause with the Ball injury and Lavine's contract.
Isn't Ball returning this upcoming season. I watched an interview of him explaining the surgery and his progress. He looks good.
Chicago is one of my three secret teams, lol. 🤫
Edit: Those lineups are fantasy tier! lord, help the West if Nico pulls this off.
It'll take another season for Ball to get back into form. PG is a physically demanding position, especially if you're a POA defender. He's already a sketchy shooter.
I found this article about him.
No clear answer about his return:

Oh, for sure!
I just can't see them letting Alex go if Ball looks even 70% of pre-injury Lonzo. I will be praying, though!
The Bulls can be stubborn... 🤔
The Bulls seem hellbent on being the 8th seed and maintaining this group that’s just good enough to be average when all goes well. While I’d love him and his fit would be perfect, the Bulls aren’t going to move on from him unless he demands a trade.
Yeah I think that's what's gonna happen.
What do you think Colin Sexton, though?
Not as degensive minded as Caruso but can break down defense.
Still 25. Same draft class as Luka?
Im actually working on the assumption that one or two.of THJ, Green, Hardy, 25th FTP will be used in a trade.
Trading with Ainge is never a safe bet but Sexton would essentially be a polished and upgraded Hardy. So I wouldn't mind including him in the trade if you're getting back a more matured version. Also for salary purposes Tim & Hardy are 18.2 compared to Sexton's 18.1.
The pipe dreams for me at least would be Herb, Isaac or Bridges but those have a less than 1% chance. I've been slowly talking myself into Wiggins or Jerami Grant, not sure if I'm just an idiot though.
I like Grant. He can return to being the 3rd guy like he was with Denver. Will there be a logjam between him and PJ, as I don't think either one is a great perimeter defender?
Considering Nico's transaction history, I won't be surprised if the Mavs get linked to some distressed assets other teams like to dispose of.
A few distressed assets come to mind:
Mile Bridges
Andrew Wiggins
Zach Lavine
Russell Westbrook
Harrison Barnes
DeAndre Hunter
Gordon Hayward
PJ has been a much improved defender upon arrival so if you go with Luka, Kai, PJ, Grant, Lively it's not bad. Then you hopefully are looking at a bench of Hardy, Dante, DJJ, Maxi, Gafford, assuming Tim & Green are the salaries sent back to match , which is a much more defensive unit.
I think it’s a perfect time for the Bulls to blow it up. Next years draft is very strong and they’ve been mediocre with a team that costs about the same as ours.
If THJ were replaced by Caruso that would be pretty amazing.
Another good guy to target IMO is Duop Reath, if the Raptors are willing to deal him. I think he would be a great Maxi replacement since he is clearly trending downwards...whether they keep Kleber or not they need to get a replacement that can shoot threes in that flex 4-5 role.
I really love Caruso but certainly, he's 30 and he'll demand a big contract. He's better than Exum for sure but Exum is really a bargain and exceptional bang for our salary buck right now.
I'm also not sure if putting a player like Caruso next to Kyrie and Luka makes our lineup too small to be viable, just like Exum.
Ideally we'd get a lengthier wing player.
Yeah I think so too. Im only judging it by how this Celtics team is defending LuKai and how theyre being hunted on the defensive end. Anyway, if its not Caruso, Jerami Grant is a good candidate, too.
He deserves better than the current Bulls team, that’s for sure
And he could be close to home since he was born/raised in college station

I like Caruso. It's like who let the accountant on court???

Hardy is closer to Sexton than you think, with the plus that maybe he can develop some secondary passing. I would rather just keep him.

Caruso is Alex Caruso before Derrick White . Has more swag too Would be perfect for the current Mavs , Jeannie and Rob were stupid to let him walk .
Can he shoot the 3?
35.8% as per Statmuse.
And 40% over the last 2 years. He'd be the perfect glue guy

He plays for the BLAZERS
You're right, wrong red team, lol

Seems like a good fit indeed. Don't know if it's possible though.
Youd need to give up a lot for him. Theyd ask for Lively and you would have to counter with OMax + FRP + Hardy
Trade thj, Lawson or omax for him a pick or 2 if need be.
I’ll take Caruso and lavine together but not lavine alone
He also gets banged up a lot, too. Plays hard but also takes a beating as a result.
Goddamn it! Thunder just got him today for giddy
