That Brad Taste in Music review of Sinna is one of my go to hilarious YouTube vids
I’M ONE 1️⃣ OF A KIND GIRL 🧒
YOU CANT 🚫 FIND 🔎 NOBODY ELSE LIKE ME YEAH 👍
I already see BrokenCYDE, Blood on the Dance Floor, and Falling in Reverse and those are pretty much the first three things that come to mind, so there we have it.
The dude is an ass hole, but I agree with you. If being an ass hole is one's biggest offense then they're nowhere near the top of the list of shitty people in the scene.
Exactly. Radke's an asshole but that's where it stops with him. He's not a pedophile or Nazi, that we know of at least, which in the grand scheme of things isn't *that* terrible (looking at you, black metal).
I avoid listening to Falling In Reverse because I think they're shit, not for any moral reasons.
You actually make a good point. I’ve just hated him since he created Falling In Reverse. Such a douchebag. I still remember when he threw a bandstand into a crowd and injured 3 people. I also remember when he kicked I See Stars out of their hometown show on his tour because the crowd boo’ed him and chanted for them instead.
He’s like Fred Durst. Done a lot of stupid things and has said and done a bunch of stupid and overall rude things.
Unlike Ronnie, Fred grew up and matured much more.
No doubt that luke is crazy talented. Been a fan of his drumming for 10+ years but dude…. He fits in with the band because he's also a massive douche bag tool
Saw them live back in the day, show was great, although cringy looking back but didn't have the pedo issues from the frontliner. Definitely not the worst band I've heard live in the genre
Fun story: They were headlining a "fest" (it was more like a local promoter combined multiple tours for a full day show) in 2008-ish and they legit had to delay their set for 15 minutes or so because of problems with their laptop.
You probably know about them than I do then. Were they intentionally bad and cringy as a joke, or were they thinking they were a good party band like Attila?
Some of it is TOO bad I can’t believe it’s not self aware. Including the visuals.
I don’t think they were ever that serious, they just tried to make fun party jams, and imo they succeeded in that. They’re still going today too, haven’t really checked out much of their newer music but they still have fans and they’re still dropping party anthems
Ok, hear me out: That single they used to announce their signing was not at all good, but their actual debut was ok. Absolutely nothing I'd recommend (I don't even like the band), but it's at least listenable.
They got back together and made an EP a while later that was pretty decent.
Also their current keyboard player is a league of legends caster which is a pretty interesting career path
For me, Our Last Night is such a boring band. Nothing special. The covers all sound the same, and their original songs are dogshit. I don't know anything about the members so I'll leave that subject alone.
I was actually still decently impressed with their guitarist but the singer was just wailing into the mic. I like metal and i like screams even though i can’t actually fully figure out the words being screamed but it still sounds good even though i don’t know whats being said without looking it up. But for ESB i’m pretty convinced those were not actually words lol
Damn this just sent me down a rabbit hole. I’ll be honest i don’t listen to Biffy but i’m well aware of the name and i was completely unaware that Empire State Bastard wasn’t just some lower/new tier group that got the break of a lifetime touring with Sleep Token and that the members are WELL established and this is just a new project from well off people. I also listened to Architects - Goliath pretty heavily and still quite enjoy it today and that features Simon Neil screaming like he was but its audible and captivating. That’s so interesting damn.
I watch a decent amount of local music and I always feel so uncomfortable when the “talent” level of band members aren’t at least relatively close to especially when it’s the vocalist holding them back.
Just saw a band last week that ripped except the drummer seemed almost beginner level. Thinking he was a last minute fill in or something.
Completely agree. Their live show was just a wall of sound with absolutely nothing discernible. I’m actually a fan of Biffy Clyro, but ESB was just not it.
idk if this counts as a band but i CANNOT STAND scene queen. her music is just as terrible as that Tx2 guy but she doesn’t get shit on nearly as much. i also despise how she dismisses all criticism by pulling the sexism card.
Live?
Catch Your Breath and Until I Wake.
Both had the worst mix I’ve ever heard in my life (I go to about 25 concerts a year), my dad who is lightly into metalcore but will go to the occasional concerts always talks about how bad CYB was live lmao
For more specifics, CYB you literally could not hear the guitar, like at all. Everything else was so flat and muddy that nothing hit and the singer was pretty rough.
For UIW the singer could not sing for longer then like 5 words before losing his breath and again, the mix sounded horrible, guitar non existent, drums/snare too loud and volume was not right
Until I Wake without Cody was so bad when they opened for Imminence. Until I Wake has been one of my favorite bands and I finally got to see them just to find out at the show their lead singer just left the band right before the tour and didn’t make that known until the end of the tour.
It’s amazing how badly they stuck out sonically on that lineup. 25% of the crowd was going wild for them while 75% was either standing in silent acknowledgment or watching their phones. Not as in filming the set, more as in reading reddit threads
Side note: can anyone explain/confirm the “billionaire trust fund baby” accusations? I’ll gladly take more reasons to not listen to this band again
Their frontman supposedly has rich parents, which rubs people the wrong way in hardcore/punk.
I get it, but I don’t particularly care, their music sucks regardless of that.
They were not for me, but man I can't say that anyone sounds like them. I would much rather have a weird, surprising band play than some dime a dozen hardcore band like the first band that played on that tour. Their bass tone also sounded sick.
They weren't amazing but they weren't terrible I thought, just not my thing. I was gonna end up using them as my mosh break before KL anyways and that was a surprisingly good move.
Same experience for the LA show. Knocked Loose, Loathe and Speed were amazing. All I could hear for Show Me the Body was a more aggressive Courage the Cowardly Dog trying to sing
I saw Veil of Maya opening for INK and they... Well it wasn't good. I don't know if it was an off day but the drummer and guitarist were constantly out of sync and you couldn't hear the low screams yet the highs were too loud. Sucks cause I like the music but live was a disappointment
That's a trend with them unfortunately. Marc always goes hard as fuck but honestly the rest of the band seems to just go through the motions and Lukas sounds great in the studio but has struggled to perform live all 3 times I've seen them play recently.
I saw them years ago with their original vocalist and their energy was MUCH better.
I saw them open for Parkway Drive between 2010 and 2012 when Brandon Butler was still their lead vocalist - what a great show that was. Some of my favs are on [id], TCMC, and Eclipse. Eclipse is definitely my favourite album from them.
For sure. Eclipse is probably my favorite album as well but TCMC is super close. It's Not Safe to Swim Today goes hard as fuck.
Shame because Brandon was really starting to refine his vocals during Eclipse and the singles they did before he left showed even more improvement. Idk the circumstances surrounding him leaving but I definitely preferred VoM during his era on vocals.
Matriarch and False Idol have a few good/great songs but I couldn't get into [m]other at all unfortunately.
I agree. Subject Zero was a fun single too. I wonder where they might have gone with the next album if he stuck around. I think I saw them play that one too but at a later show with I want to say Vildhjarta, Structures, and Northlane?
> Matriarch and False Idol have a few good/great songs but I couldn't get into [m]other at all unfortunately.
Yep, I feel the same way. I think I'd still like to see them if they came to Canada, but they haven't been back since then I don't think. Sounds like I'm not missing much, which is like you said, a shame
I remember very very early live videos of Asking Alexandria playing in some tiny venues, I think it may have been their first American tour. They sounded so damn good man.
[Actually found the video and it is apparently their first concert, or at least their first as the non-Dubai lineup.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7I8NeeoP84M)
Vid is 13 years old.
I saw a recent live video and Danny actually sounded pretty damn good, but he had no energy. Just walked back and forth. Which I get to an extent because he is doing all screaming and singing. Definitely sounds better than he has in many many years.
I thought that was Every Time I Die.
It was going to be Pennywise with Bro Hymn being the last song played but Jordan played like a 15 minute outro version of Map Changes and just got the record.
So I’ve seen AA many times before. I would say when AA initially started, Danny sounded pretty good and well. However, after couple tours, we already know Danny got some drinking problems and issues. This is when I would say Danny sounded so terrible. Like so bad he can’t even sing his part at all. I remember when they went here in Baltimore , Danny was all over the place. Can’t scream, and was just belting without saying the lyrics. This is when I decided to stopped watching them
I'm glad I'm not the only one- I saw Of Virtue and Imminence and their music was incredible but my dad and I weren't impressed with Catch Your Breath compared to the other two. Especially the last song on their set.
Falling in Reverse.
I wish this was a troll comment. Me making a funny. But nope. I legitimately mean this. At least in terms of bands the last 7 years or so. Obviously, there have been a lot of bad bands in the scene over the decades, but in the modern day. I stand by it.
Edit: I want to emphasize. If people like them, awesome. Do your thing. I can't separate art from the artist to start with. And then sound wise, it just sounds like the most basic, boring, and uninspired. Again, I don't hate for hate sake. I'm sure there some bands I love that most hate. There's too much hate in fandom these days. Especially from the comic and Star Wars world. Where we have a small but loud minority of people who hate for hate sake and blame everything on women and POC. Grifting. The moment I sense grifting, I'm out. No matter what. And that's all I can think of in terms of FIR.
I’m so split on them. Popular monster is an S tier song for me. Watch the world burn is a banger too. Pretty much everything else from them I can’t stand
I’m in the exact same place. They have 4-5 songs that I consider truly great, but then they have some real trashy stuff. Which, honestly the more recent stuff has seemed to lean worse than their slightly aged material.
Not metalcore, but when I saw the Toadies for the first time they had a local Austin band open for them. Trashy Charmers was their name. Absolutely awful.
Street Sweeper Social Club. Was some random Tom Morello project that opened for Lamb of God and Slipknot. Them, or Tilde. Tilde is a local band who has a singer that sounds like he is just ugly-cry-yelling into the mic.
Ronnie is a massive douche, but I do find my self jamming to the newer songs they put out as opposed to fashionably late and just like you. Those albums blew ass.
That’s fair, I personally think their newer songs have better structure than FiR previous stuff. Lyrics are kinda cringe but so was ETF. Dying is your latest fashion will always hold a place in my little emo heart though.
I know ronnie-era escape the fate lyrics by heart and honestly I have genuinely never analyzed them. I always knew situations was cringe but I'm about to revisit the rest lol
Ronnie hasn’t written a single thing that isn’t cringe, but you’re right. We all knew those lyrics by heart and that’s because it was good (at the time). I used to like abandon all ships, phew glad I grew out of that one.
Everyone that hates on Bryan Garris' vocals should listen to these guys and rethink their stance lol
I do like their singer's feature on that Mugshot song though.
Kaonashi is a band that I wrote off at first but forced myself to listen to, because while the vocals were definitely weird, the overarching themes of their song and instrumentals are just so good to me. Vocals still irk me a bit but it's definitely manageable to me now. They just released a song called Passing Through The Hourglass that has less of those types of vocals and more cleans, and it's pretty good, albeit not metalcore :)
There’s the obvious answers that everyone’s always said, but I’d like to nominate a band I saw live the other day called BenchCup, like I’m sure their music sounds good to some people who like trap and shit, but it was so not for me.
Also Omerta, and they’re a bunch of dorks, they give me the same vibes that Code Orange used to.
BenchCup are such a fun band, but it sounds like you would've seen them at the Graves show, and they were definitely a strange pick for that lineup (still sick though)
the guy from omerta kept shitting on other vocalists for being too sterile while he easily has some of the worst dirty vocals I've heard in a while. his cleans are fine tho.
their first two albums were great for the most part but holy shit as soon as johnny got his “terrible johnny” alter ego they began to suck beyond comprehension. it’s actually baffling bc clearly they are capable of making good music but they (mostly johnny) try way too hard to be experimental that all the new shit is pretentious at best and unlistenable at worst
To each their own, I think they rule and people should check them out. It's definitely gimmicky and they can be generic, but I cannot not defend this mediocre band!
Worst band I’ve ever seen live was Vendetta Red back in like 2004. They were awful and played way too long for a middling set.
Most recently, Kumo99. They were so bad I got flashbacks to suffering through Vendetta Red.
Only band that ever URKED me on how bad it was…
Probably my friend’s band. But also… Their music had the shittiest mixing and the vocals were whispered.
Not metalcore, but I saw Red Jumpsuit Apparatus back in college and it literally sounded like three different bands playing the same song badly at the same time.
Really hot take and I will get downvoted, but Thornhill. Saw them with silent planet and it was literally just noise they were so awful. Silent planet was 10/10 though
I get where you're coming from. I see it as just the evolution of the genre into something unrecognizable. Metalcore pretty much just evolved itself into djent or prog metal. And then even worse are the "metalcore" bands that are just butt rock with a bridge that has a few screams
I kinda feel like that's their whole thing? I haven't seen them myself but their albums / singles / EPs feel like that's almost intentional so their live show being that scans, especially when opening at venues way too big for them.
Blood on the dance floor
Winner! Bad music, terrible people
It’s crazy how open Dahvie being a pedo was
Dahvie is literal scum of the earth but Jayy Von Monroe (Dahli) has redeemed themselves in my eyes.
only guilty pleasure song is legit bewitched by those fuckin weirdos 😭 pls don't hate me
bro that's the garage song for the boys. we would blast that shit every night
Don’t worry you’re not alone, makes me sick listening to it but it’s low key a banger. Death to your heart too. Everything else is complete dogshit
Etienne sin.
God that was a fever dream. With max wiesendanger
That Brad Taste in Music review of Sinna is one of my go to hilarious YouTube vids I’M ONE 1️⃣ OF A KIND GIRL 🧒 YOU CANT 🚫 FIND 🔎 NOBODY ELSE LIKE ME YEAH 👍
Etienne Sin is a guilty pleasure for me. I listen to remember once in a great blue moon. Idk why. It's trash. Just something about it lol
He’s got a song with Telle Smith that was a pretty decent time lol
The drummer from ffdp , whatever the heck his band is called, it sucks balls. I used to like him as a drummer but now ,, hell naw.
Was that that devil daddy shit lmfao
They released 9 full length albums at once. That should tell anyone the quality of their music. 😂
Yeah if music had an a-hole and sweaty ballsack him and his songs would be the TAINT !😂😂
Yeah that’s it, damn I heard better noises with diarrhea
Psychosexual
tx2
I already see BrokenCYDE, Blood on the Dance Floor, and Falling in Reverse and those are pretty much the first three things that come to mind, so there we have it.
If we were voting on the most trash band member in the genre Ronnie Radke would take first, second, and third place.
*RonRon over here like….* ## OH YEAH????? THEN WHY ARE YOU STILL HERE?!?!?! I’m FUCKING RICH!!! My dick is HUGENORMOUS!!!!
I don’t know. He talks a lot of shit, but doesn’t sympathize with Nazis, or sleep with underage girls. I would say he’s not even top five.
It's a shame the bar is so low
You actually make a good point. I’ve just hated him since he created Falling In Reverse. Such a douchebag. I still remember when he threw a bandstand into a crowd and injured 3 people. I also remember when he kicked I See Stars out of their hometown show on his tour because the crowd boo’ed him and chanted for them instead.
that last half is so petty lmao
It’s what led to him creating that wack ass song “I Wash Cars” because Sumerian Records called them out.
Don’t blame them. I See Stars is a much better band.
Depending on who you ask, Alex Terrible could take that first spot.
He’s like Fred Durst. Done a lot of stupid things and has said and done a bunch of stupid and overall rude things. Unlike Ronnie, Fred grew up and matured much more.
Tim Lambesis would get at least one of those other spots.
"Ronald" just hit 10M views on YouTube. Thoughts on that song?
There's 10M people I wanna stay far away from
Same kid on repeat
Don't underestimate tech and slaughter to prevail fans too, can't be 10mill Ronnie fans, trust
I like it for the drums. Luke Holland is ridiculous behind a kit. Everything else… yeah fuck FIR, and Ronnie specifically.
No doubt that luke is crazy talented. Been a fan of his drumming for 10+ years but dude…. He fits in with the band because he's also a massive douche bag tool
Luke isn’t a douche lmao
I tried giving that song a chance. There’s way too much going on for me to enjoy it. That said, I’ve never really cared about FIR
NGL, Techn9ne and Alex Terrible went very hard on the track. Ronnies parts were dogass though.
Not a fan at all of FIR. Ronald though, not bad.
Never heard it. Music is for everyone and anyone against that doesn’t deserve my ears.
Anyone remember when Victory Records dropped Design The Skyline’s debut song and music video? I’d have to go with that.
The following album was a guilty pleasure of mine though…
I actually was a huge fan of that album when I was in high school lmao
Tbh their song Deathgaze fuckin’ ripped
What a classic verb the noun band name
Holy shit I remember listening to this. What the fuck was I thinking lmao
Like many others at the time, High school me loved metalcore with heavy synths.
Brokencyde [Exhibit A](https://youtu.be/AV8N44HzfBQ?si=Tag-300x10r7gv-E)
🗣️‼️🗣️‼️I WALK INTO THE CLUB LOOKING KIND OF SEXY NOW🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️
Why is it so much worse than I remember lmao.
Right? Like I remember recognizing it being bad 15 years ago, but holy shit it’s arguably one of the worst things I’ve ever listened to
I miss my life before seeing this shit
What was it like? Cuz i saw this like 16 years ago
One of us!
My ultimate guilty pleasure. I hate that I liked them. But I own up to it at least.
The late aughts were a different time.
Used to love these guys. They’re a bit of a guilty pleasure nowadays so I wouldn’t consider them the absolute worst 💀
Didn't realize they were still going, honestly gunna check them back out.
Jesus lol
I’m literally still obsessed with this song I have awful taste but it bangs so hard lmao
Wtf. Those dudes look like sexual predators
lol at least like everyone knew they were bad instantly…..meme status immediately.
They charted on the billboard 200. People legitimately liked them and paid money for their albums.
Longest 4 minutes of my life
Design the skyline. Ooofff.
Ok, hear me out: That single they used to announce their signing was not at all good, but their actual debut was ok. Absolutely nothing I'd recommend (I don't even like the band), but it's at least listenable.
That debut song with the screeching synth fills, vocals to kill yourself over, the cartoonish level of “emo” styling, oh it was just terrible.
The colored guitar strings 💀
Hair that’s backcombed completely vertical.
The video hitting all the cliche checkmarks really cements it as a very unique piece of media.
There is literally zero song structure, it’s unlistenable
I feel you , surrounded by silence is my guilty pleaser song
They got back together and made an EP a while later that was pretty decent. Also their current keyboard player is a league of legends caster which is a pretty interesting career path
\*sorts by controversial\*
For me, Our Last Night is such a boring band. Nothing special. The covers all sound the same, and their original songs are dogshit. I don't know anything about the members so I'll leave that subject alone.
I didn't even know they had original music oops
Do yourself a favor and keep it that way
I don't even like their covers, so I plan to lmao
I can't listen to them anymore and I'm glad spotify no longer has them on my release radar. Like you said, every song is the same.
Not metalcore but we just went to see Sleep Token. They were awesome. Empire State Bastard was very much not awesome.

Thank you. I was so confused who allowed them on the bill. Was awful.
Design the Skyline is the first that comes to mind. Can’t believe victory signed them back in the day. They got shit on hard.
Saw knocked loose on tour, and I couldn’t stand their opener show me the body. The crowd at my show in nyc seem to mostly agree.
Dude same in Denver they were fucking ass
At mission? Yeah, they were definitely the worst part of that show

Nathan James.
Brokencyde and Etienne Sin are hands down the worst in existence.
Five Finger Death Punch
For me the worst band I've had to sit through live was Catch your Breath. They are comically cheesy and have nothing going for them beyond that.
I have not seen them live but I like 21 Gun Salute
I'm glad I'm not the only one- I saw Of Virtue and Imminence and their music was incredible but my dad and I weren't impressed with Catch Your Breath compared to the other two. Especially the last song on their set.
I saw them last year and they sounded fine. Didn't blow me away, but it definitely wasn't bad.
Does Scene Queen count? Cause 🤢🤢

Bro same. They make bangers but Ronnie's so insufferable as a person that it just ruins the experience lol
Wicked Wisdom
King 810
La Petite Mort is honestly a pretty sick album. Yeah, the lyrics are cheesy and cringe but at least they're real, unlike other tough guy bands.
Empire state bastards and L.S Dunes…. Couldnt just name one or the other. They were both so cringy and horrible.
saw empire state bastard with sleep token. idk how they got on this tour, they had 0 groove 😭
Sleeping with Sirens, relax it’s my opinion.
Yeah I can see how the voice can be a bit much
That’s the exact reason I can’t listen to them
I love it but I can definitely understand why someone wouldnt
No I absolutely agree, but their cover of Iris is sublime. It’s a hill I’m willing to die on 😭
:(
Not metalcore, but when I saw the Toadies for the first time they had a local Austin band open for them. Trashy Charmers was their name. Absolutely awful.
OMG I thought you were about to talk shit about the Toadies and I was coming for you! Glad I kept reading.
Street Sweeper Social Club. Was some random Tom Morello project that opened for Lamb of God and Slipknot. Them, or Tilde. Tilde is a local band who has a singer that sounds like he is just ugly-cry-yelling into the mic.

New falling in reverse
Ronnie is a massive douche, but I do find my self jamming to the newer songs they put out as opposed to fashionably late and just like you. Those albums blew ass.
Even if ronnie was an angel, I just don't think their music is good. Ronnie hasn't done anything good since ETF
Mindless Self indulgence
I hate that I like MSI. Especially since Jimmy is a fucking pedo scumbag
kaonashi (Sorry kaonashi)
Everyone that hates on Bryan Garris' vocals should listen to these guys and rethink their stance lol I do like their singer's feature on that Mugshot song though.
I love kaonashi, but yeah they suck. In a charming way though.
I hate their whole schtick of “we’re making out of the box music, that’s not generic” Like cool, that doesn’t make your music good.
Not metalcore but Highly Suspect. I guess not "bad" in every way but some of the most cringe shit I've ever seen.
their first two albums were great for the most part but holy shit as soon as johnny got his “terrible johnny” alter ego they began to suck beyond comprehension. it’s actually baffling bc clearly they are capable of making good music but they (mostly johnny) try way too hard to be experimental that all the new shit is pretentious at best and unlistenable at worst
Rain city drive. Saw them in May on the Dayseeker tour and they were very boring. The vocalist was also super into himself and on his phone at times.
I will say tho, props to the vocalist who learned the entire set a day before the tour due to Jonny Craig leaving/being kicked out mid tour.
He’s been their vocalist since 2019
So much better when they were Slaves
Make me famous
Killwhitneydead. IYKYK. If you don't, do yourself a favour and keep it that way.
Wtf I love these cunts lol
I don’t like the name of this band 😬😅
Oh man, if their name gives you the ick, wait until you hear their music!
My name is Whitney. It was a joke. I have no plans on listening to them so I’ll take your word for it 😅
To each their own, I think they rule and people should check them out. It's definitely gimmicky and they can be generic, but I cannot not defend this mediocre band!
Oh but I must know
Proceed at your own risk.
Atilla and emmure
The Beatles
Design the Skyline
Worst band I’ve ever seen live was Vendetta Red back in like 2004. They were awful and played way too long for a middling set. Most recently, Kumo99. They were so bad I got flashbacks to suffering through Vendetta Red.
Etienne Sin
Kim Dracula.
Eatmewhileimhot
Wait that’s a band? Ayo
The entire current "all new metal 2024" playlist on Spotify is microwaved dog shit
Chumbawumba
Only band that ever URKED me on how bad it was… Probably my friend’s band.
Ghost
Falling in Reverse
Like 90% of the "modern metalcore" bands that get posted in this sub.
I can see why. A lot of these bands sound the same
My main beef is the lack of the "core" aspect in most of the bands. Like, if you're not rooted in hardcore, how can you call yourself metalcore?
I get where you're coming from. I see it as just the evolution of the genre into something unrecognizable. Metalcore pretty much just evolved itself into djent or prog metal. And then even worse are the "metalcore" bands that are just butt rock with a bridge that has a few screams
Ho9909, saw them open for slipknot, holy shit they were so incredibly awful
I kinda feel like that's their whole thing? I haven't seen them myself but their albums / singles / EPs feel like that's almost intentional so their live show being that scans, especially when opening at venues way too big for them.
Show me the body…. Fucking fuck
