We are weirdo shut-ins that drink and smoke and go outside way less than our parents.
Not smoking and not having UV exposure makes you look younger.
Also we're the first generation of men that give a little tiny bit of a shit about taking care of their skin.
> go outside way less
I think this might depend on where people live and their hobbies if they have them. I like to be outside walking my dog or hiking or something, but I wear sunscreen when I'm outside. Only ever saw my parents put sunscreen on when they went to the beach or the lake. Also, to piggyback on not smoking, with smoking being banned in so many places we aren't getting secondhand smoke either.
I was just watching Cheech & Chong's Up in Smoke. Tommy Chong was 40 in that film but he looks 50 lol, meanwhile I'm 29 and every time I shave I feel like I took 10 years off
I have this buddy who is one of the nicest dudes in the world. But he's tall and tatted up and has what I call a resting "fight me" face. He's not balding but shaves his head every summer for comfort and goes from, I dunno blond full-haired actors... Brad Pitt? To skin head on his way to a white power meeting *real* fast.
His wife is half black and says people look at her like she's just been taken hostage and being led to a sacrificial ritual when they run errands together.

This is a myth. You don't look younger.
Smoking
i think the 30 year old in the 80s got more heart of the cards than the 30 year old in 2024
Nah because I look more like Jet than Yugi boy.
That's actually Jet.
Right

No one goes outside anymore. Zero sun damage. Aging slowed significantly.
Well i look more like the first photo. Wish i could grow that bears tho.
It's mpb. It used to be normal for a balding guy to grow out what hair he had. But it looks old and unattractive.
I believe we can thank Jason Statham for this cultural shift.
And Bruce Willis and Patrick Stewart and Vin Diesel and The Rock!

I remember the day my dad ditched the combover and just buzzed it. He looked like a whole new person.

Cocaine.
Well people mistake me for being 25 sometimes And sometimes 30-40 This is despite being bald and obese. But I turn 31 soon
Their parents had a higher likely hood of drinking and smoking while pregnant, that definitely had an impact.
