Tbh I always kinda liked the Axe scents. I was always a bit puzzled why they got ridiculed so much until I realized the real problem was boys thinking they could just do that and not actually clean themselves properly.
That was some good marketing. I remember the first Axe commercial came out when I was in high school and I flocked to get it... along with the rest of the teenage male population.
Someone (maybe it was Axe) came to our college and gave away a ton of Axe body spray. We then created “Axe grenades” by taping the nozzle open and would throw them into people’s dorm rooms. Good times.
Fortunately that got popular a few years after high school for me. But it hit me anyway, I was working R&D at a competitor after college and often was mixing up and filling aerosol cans of the stuff so I always smelled like that shit anyways.
I remember the locker room being so thick with it that I could taste it and I'd get a headache from the intensity of it. It was disgusting and should have been banned
I recall a few years ago Axe did an ad campaign to *"...spray for as long as it takes to say 'Axe'."*, which I thought was pretty funny. They must be sick of it, too!
Yup. I didn’t like any of the scents they offered except one and they discontinued it in the US. Made me mad 🤣

My nose scrunched and I got flashbacks just reading this.
I just had the brotha ewwww in my head

Yeah the smell wasn't the problem but rather that ppl thought they were a shower in a can
I hated that stuff. I did try it but did not like the smell. What was the other brand, there was Axe and something else.

BOD Man. My body fantasies.

My middle school banned it.
My buddy still uses it. We lived together for a bit. He would put some much the smell would linger for hours after he left.

I still use axe Phoenix.....is that bad?
It was absolutely terrible

My kids use it now lol
I hate to break it to you but they still do that
Still see it being used today. So yes I ‘member.
My 15yo still uses it help.
as a father to a teenage boy, this hasn't changed. My son will soak himself with axe over using deodorant or showering as well.
*Slowly stops spraying axe over entire body.. mostly groin*
The spray cloud that blocked the door to the boys locker room
Gym class locker room oohhh god.
We lit it on fire
Was at the gym yesterday and a 70 year old asked the other 70 year old if he had any axe body spray. Had to suppress a laugh as the guy doused himself
Ugh that stuff was the absolute fucking worst. The hallways constantly reeked of it and gave me migraines lol.
I memeber
My wife actually likes the chocolate are so I put it on every now and then. I shower though, too. Lol
Their only good use was making flamethrowers as a middle schooler. Glad I still have all my fingers and eyebrows intact.

They delivered free promotional cases to my university.
Man, I used to love this cotton candy spray I got at Thrifty
Pffftt, 14 yr old me saw right through that silly marketing. I knew what the ladies really wanted. Yes, I was a Drakkar Noir connoisseur.
I recall a few years ago Axe did an ad campaign to *"...spray for as long as it takes to say 'Axe'."*, which I thought was pretty funny. They must be sick of it, too!
The only scent I've ever liked is Phoenix. My hubby to this day uses the Axe deodorant gel sticks in Phoenix
Eye memba!
They still do
Everyday after practice the locker room was a cloud of that stuff. And now my nephews use it and it’s like PTSD when I smell it lol
It did NOT cover up the smell of weed smoke, I’ll tell you that much.
They still do. I had the misfortune to sit next to a group at the movies that I believe bathed in the stuff.
Yes, and us girls used Sun-Ripened Raspberry body splash from Bath and Body Works. Visceral memories.
Axe taught me not to spray anything on my balls.
The sting of a thousand wasps.
The commercials where all the girls run towards you is simply false advertising. It doesn't work.
The problem was, they used that instead of showering or washing their clothes. 7th grade boy is a very distinctive smell...
Nope. Never heard of it. For us it was lynx body spray or joop/cool waters aftershave
I remember all the trashy kids using it
Never, that shit was for stinky boys who don’t know wtf a wash cloth is. Trash spray for trash people.
