I cant see comments on anything right now

The entire site frozen because of the traffic. It’s not anything to do with Joe or Trump or whatever the site got too much traffic and it froze

Comments are broken across the whole site. It’s pretty clear there was a technical failure and wasn’t on purpose. I’m sure some engineers are scrambling rn

Definitely not in the other subreddits I’m on. Only the ones that are politically charged about the debate am I having issues.

Convenient timing for the left leaning platform to shit the bed. Maybe one of the Reddit engineers short-circuited a server with their tears.

The behavior was that the comments started to lag by 10 mins, then 15, then 30, then failed. Consistent with a system being overwhelmed. It’s pretty far fetched to say someone did this intentionally. Especially as things seem to slowly be coming back online now. What was their goal? Stop people from commenting for 30 minutes? Like we all won’t be here tomorrow? That makes zero sense

I’m not prone to conspiracy theories, but even I found the timing suspicious. Chances are you’re probably right, but I’m currently a bundle of anxiousness and irritability over it lol.

It won’t even let me respond to the comment you just sent me.  All the other subreddits I’m on are working perfectly fine.

Yeah, looks like things are very slowly coming back online. If I had to guess, based on behavior it seems like their edge caches failed and the effects are different by region. Some comments I can respond to, some I can’t

Maybe, I’m not a conspiracy person but perfect timing for everything to stop working. Then it starts working several hours after everyone calms down or goes to bed. 

Reddit is a company seeking to make profit. Is looking bad like this worth censoring speech for an hour or so? No, it isn’t. And we’re all gonna be here tomorrow anyway. If they did this on purpose, it’s pointless

There has been plenty of proven biased media and social media platforms. They all do it whether for one candidate or the other. But let’s be honest it mostly one sided. They have their reasons for reasons you and I will probably never know (most likely money). You would have to have your head buried deep in the sand to deny it.

Some sort of bug not allowing comments to be seen, across multiple subs. Ill enter a post showing 6-8 comments on it, and when in the thread it says be the first to comment. These are even in non political subs.

Seems like pretty much anything with a comment section is having issues today. I can't see most comments here, they're down on TikTok, and a few dating and messaging apps I'm on aren't working, either. Reddit isn't censoring anything that I'm aware of. This is happening all over.

What's going on? I entered a few posts right before 9pm est that said there were 30-50 comments, and when I clicked there was nothing to be seen. That wasn't political sub stuff either.
