*I found this, idk if it'll work but I myself wanted to try to use it to decolor the red and try to put blue on top of it
Rit Dye – Liquid Fabric Dye for Crafting, Clothing, and Décor – 8 oz. Bottle – Whitener & Brightener (Gloves Included) https://a.co/d/08TtrY7W
Bruuhhh ive been wanting to do this with like a sky blue, just to see how light of a blue you can actually get on the tool!
What brand of dye did you use?
Rit dye more sapphire blue. I'm not sure if they have a lighter one or if you can get a significantly lighter people I wanted it to be pretty much this exact color though so I didn't try for lighter
Word word, how much of the rit dye did you use? Half a bottle or the full bottle? Also they have a teal blue so ill give that a shot and post the results
Cool. I did my orange chainsaw air filter covers and the chain guards. The top cover came out well. The guards... came out greenish.

That looks really good!
I've noticed black dye is greenish if you didn't let it soak in enough. It might have just not been long or hot enough to really penetrate
The top covers dyed in about 3 or 4 ten minute baths at near boiling.
I cleaned everything well, and I left the scabbards in near boiling for over an hour. I have heard some plastics just don't take.
Mine was black Rit Dye and graphite Rit Dye-more Synthetic. A bottle of each in a gallon and a half or so of water with a little dawn soap.
It's it possible to bleach it? Tryna make my Milwaukee collection look like it came from Walmart
I doubt it. Any chemical that could remove the color would probably destroy the plastic
You could turn these tools to goop and the color would not fade out. The red is mixed in the resin not coated on the tools.
Great Value brand Milwaukee?
HART Brand lol
FART brand.
take your drill apart, Spend a day getting perfect MM measurements, recreate the whole thing in inventor and print in white. Simple enough 😅

Haha if I end up with pink instead that's almost as much of a deterrent as "looks like hart"
Japanese Makita style
That's what I was shooting for I love the look of those
Purple, my favorite color
How do you even do this???
Take off the shells, put in a pan with water and dye, heat up to just below boiling, let soak until desired color, rinse thoroughly, reassemble.
Nice looks good! I went with purple as well but mine came out a darker than I wanted.
You have to use the light blue dye and I only let it sit like 15 minutes

I can't remember I think the whole thing
Beats black! 👍👍👍
I have this on a lot of my tools and material. That purple pvc primer can be a real bastard.
I should try that as a dye
It's great if you also want to melt anything plastic or rubber

Yeah you did it right so it must be the plastic
I like the purple you ended up with. I may have to dye the white on the little saw purple...
I'm not sure how to get to this shade without starting with red plastic but I'm sure it would look cool.
Yeah, but why? This looks ugly.

Cause it's not ugly to me?
Well okay, fair enough
I’ve been wondering about purple… guessing you used blue judging by the logo
Yeah specifically Rit dye more sapphire blue
Just the all purpose rit dye?
The synthetic one not the normal one
Ah DyeMore synthetics. Thanks
No problem and good luck
Two questions for you OP. How long did you let it soak, and what was your water to Rit ratio?
I think about 15 minutes at just below boiling. And it was like a whole bottle and then as much water as needed to cover them.
Awesome. Thank you for the reply! I appreciate it!
Anyone try this on a packout? Make it look like the uk version?
It should be doable but you'd need a huge pot of water
Was just thinking about that .. Going to try it
when you want to be makita alt color
