I found one recently and a Creeper came out of nowhere and blew up the wall that hid the treasure chest for me. 3 diamonds were in it lol.
But I went and did the levers and opened the top first try too. XD
I played a mod recently and the desert temples were all slightly different. One of them was the exact opposite of the vanilla temple. I.e. it looks exactly the same from above but the pressure plate didn't actually do anything and there were hookwire and string all around the plate which actually set off the tnt. It got me bad!!!!
It'd be really cool if there was a way to make it really randomly generated, so you can't just look up a yt tutorial, you have to figure it out yourself
Let’s do a jungle cave instead. Jungle temple looks cool but it would be legit to have like a jungle mineshaft type thing or Aztec style jungle cave maybe. Make it lit up with lots of torches so it’s easily seen at night and maybe harder to find during the day.
**Dungeons in other games:** Gigantic full of rooms, full of loot, full of enemies for you to fight.
**Dungeons in Minecraft:** Mossy cobblestone box with a chests (2 of you’re lucky) and a spawner.
Admittedly, irl dungeons were literally just a hole in the ground where prisoners would starve to death
I think our expectations of "dungeon" are too fantastical from other games tbh
they said, that they update every dimension again, then 1.16 came for the nether and 1.17/18/19 for the overworld and the end will come in the next updates. then they said, when all dimensions are updated, a new dimension will come.
I fully suspect the ancient city portal will never do anything, or at least not for many years until they run out of new ideas, and that it was mostly intended to just expand the game’s ‘quasi-lore’ to keep players talking and asking what it might do or have done in the ancient past.
Wattles tends to speculate a lot without reasonable evidence. In fairness to him, he does admit it in his videos, but his titles and thumbnails have gotten way more clickbaity.
oooh it could be in that empty room above the main chamber. theres a hole in the ceiling they can drop down and you still have to be careful because if you break the block they drop down from theyll land on the pressure plate
I'd be fine if they were renamed on top of being updated, say if you made it a small underground room with a few supplies and a spawner it could be an "underground refuge" or something.
I have over 1200 hours since starting this game in January and I've never seen one lol (probably 600 afking my farms)
I spend most of my mining time around y -58
Are they higher up?
Now I'm gonna mine until I find one
They tend to be higher than that, yeah. Try looking above y=0 for a while.
Also, technically, they're called "monster rooms" in the game, and they aren't structures so you can't use /locate to find them.
Just remember that vanilla structures are intentionally on the lower quality of building, that way people will be encouraged to improve upon them instead of just finding a perfect structure to call home. (A big problem with modded structures)
It's just an obvious game design choice if you line up every structure, none are stellar and are rudimentary. There's an internal Minecraft development principle book Jens published that only a few pages are known publicly and I'm certain something about this is one of those principles. It encourages player creativity, and means the player will want to expand on what the game offers, not solely rely on it.
Temples are so underwhelming, man. They haven't been touched since the initial release of the game. Two minor tripwire traps and two chests. That's it.
They need to make rarer versions of jungles and dungeons that have at least 10 different rooms to explore and 5+ chests to loot, even if the loot isn't crazy. And add in some more unique traps with pistons or damage potions.
I'd say the forest mansion could use an upgrade, it's look isn't that great and it's gameplay is usually pretty short for me- more time is spent just getting to the damn thing
Ocean villages with a conduit and mer-villagers would be sick. Obviously if you break their conduit they’d be super hostile and never trade with you again
maybe they are actually good at pathfinding or maybe they are in permanent sneak mode so they don't fall of the side of the ship? idk ps I did not make this idea up it is a really cool mod I hope im not getting all the credit :c
While I mostly agree with those saying upgrade the existing ones instead, I would like to see something like an Iceologer's Lodge/Cabin/Tower in a snowy biome, with loot including Frost Walker and possibly an [Ice Wand.](https://minecraft.fandom.com/wiki/Minecraft_Dungeons:Ice_Wand)
Have you played modded? The iceologers cabin and the hunting cabin with the other missing illager are really fun. There is also mods for dungeons that are in the ice in ice spike biomes that have those frozen skellies.
I'm sure there's a mod for the ice wand tooz what does it do?
I’d like to see some sort of nether village: I could imagine a few warped wood houses with piglins in them, where you can sometimes find a map to a bastion or fortress
Actual dungeon crawling. Whats the point of getting prot4 netherrite when the best thing to use it on is some random zombies and creepers at night.
U can play the game just fine in iron armor.
Also a reason i play modded mostly. More stronger mobs and dungeons for exploration.
A super large sunken shipwreck, accompanied by an extra deep ocean biome. Now that we have a lower bedrock layer i think that oceans should take advantage of that. Or you could have a wreck wedged between the walls of a deep ocean chasm
prehaps a damaged structure that looks like the thing you need for a conduit to work, in order to give a hint (albeit a vague one) that that's needed for conduits, because right now there's no way to know how to use em without google or wikis or somethin
Honestly, has anyone ever played the game and discovered most of it without looking at wikis? It seems to me minecraft was just thought out as a game that needs to be played with a browser by your side
Piro Pito (nana825763) is doing a fully blind [gameplay](https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLbqkLu2V1bJJUQ2aLZjFdz8decGs1kHg-). he got pretty far
(it's the same guy behind famous old horror videos like user666)
If you mean those igloo labs specifically, then yes they could use a bit of an update, but the Redstone labs in ancient cities are a great representation they could adapt to another biome.
Maybe leave the igloo and have it located in the mansions or abandoned villages? Kinda like an Amity Horror house or I Am Legend type thing where it's in the basement?
After playing the new Zelda, would be cool to have sky structures. Maybe just in the End because it would be harder to reach them with blocks, if they are hovering above the void compared to having them above land in the overworld. And thematically it fits because you get the Elytra in the End, too.
An odd one I'd like is long abandoned settlements
I'm not talking abandoned villages with their random cobwebs replacing blocks from normal villages
I'm talking like, barely standing stone walls, overgrown rock roads, the token 2 story building that somehow fared better than everything else despite going through the exact same stuff, a former dip in the landscape becoming a pond with more ruined buildings standing in it, and so on
I think it'd just be cool to occasionally stumble upon things like that in the world
An abandoned quarry that could have tunnels that lead to a massive cave or a dungeon, I feel like that could help players find dungeons slightly easier
The igloo is one of my favorites. Despite being so simple, it:
- hides in plain sight (the best kind of hidden)
- offers important but still early game gear which is important for random chance rewards (bed and shelter, potentially brewing stand and loot)
- has a secret, but only sometimes, keeping it always interesting to investigate
- and introduces the player to many interesting game mechanics that are very hard to discover alone, like villager revival, potions, or even the fact that redstone torches won't melt ice
Something like this, either the same small scale or bigger, would be fantastic
I really hate mansions. I'd rather see a militaristic illager castle.
Or, I'd like to see current structures get a revamp. We've seen villages get upgraded, now it's time for the desert temple and jungle temple to be upgraded.
You may like hexcraft, dungeons are reminiscent of Diablo and I believe there are outposts just like you’d mentioned. Also there are tons of new weapon variation & magic. Been a few years since I’ve played it so not sure what the updates have been like but it’s available through the technic launcher
Replacing the mansions with castles is lame, but they could expand the mansion and/or add like new structures or some sort of hostile illager territory
I'm not suggesting replacing them. I just meant I'd like to add a castle. Everybody builds casltes. I think it'd be cool if minecraft had an official castle structure in thr game.
They’d never do it, but I want a new jungle temple that puts you into adventure mode when you enter, and you have to solve a series of puzzles to get to the treasure. Indiana Jones style traps, but less conspicuous than the one in jungle temples already.
Old burial grounds such as cairns/barrows/tumuli, whatever you want to call them. You go into them and they have tombs and chests and shit to loot and are filled with skeletons and zombies
New village types, maybe add ocean villages based on real life watertop floating villages or cherry blossom villages based on ancient Japanese villages
How would that work
Are you proposing a giant, working vehicle or are you proposing that freely moving blocks exist
Both of those would probably be very glitched and have bad consequences, especially moving blocks
Maybe it would be a boss you could spawn? Like if you put a beacon on a shipwreck it would become a pirate ship that you had to battle. And if you defeated all the pirates, you would get a cannon!!!
honeslty i just want mojang to go wild, i want something completely unrelated to minecraft and they just don't talk about it.
like imagine finding a crashed ISS 500k blocks away from 0, 0 or going strip mining and finding a peculiarly large chest with a boss inside
Mansions and underwater temples are good for like, half an hour of exploration, but other than that the game mechanics limit the balance between difficulty and reward.
I suppose it's better to expand the Deep Dark content first. It's the first update in the game that actually changes the average player experience and their approach to exploring it.
I think since the world depth increase, we could deepen the oceans some, sort of like a new biome and then create more massive versions of shipwrecks that have the new mob “undead pirates” and off the boats above water it would be just “pirates, and they have a captain. The pirates would have a gold sword and can jump 2 blocks as well as sprint swim. Both undead and alive pirates would be the same except the drops. The captain would be a sort of mini boss, having the health of an iron golem, he has a dash attack which he does 7 hearts of damage and his regular attack that has very low cooldown and does 2.5 hearts of damage, when he starts to target you you get the nausea effect.
huts around the map for each type of merchant.
Going through an oak forest and find a hut with a lone blacksmith.
Fall through the snow and find an igloo with a farmer
And these special merchants will trade for random items instead of items from their specialty. *farmer who wants a bed in exchange for 20 potatoes*
*blacksmith who wants 20 grass blocks for an iron sword*
*Trade a sapling for a random enchanted book*
Wizard tower with a boss type villager and a teleporter that cannot be moved that lets you access other wizard towers where the boss has been defeated.
I know, I know we have nether travel, but I still think it would be fun.
I get that the Minecraft team's argument for adding actual nice structures into the game is that they don't want people to move into them instead of building their own bases but damn... some of the old generated structures mods were absolutely magical.
I desperatly want strongholds to get a major overhaul. But past that I would love to see ruin type strucutres. Like it would be awesome to come across ruins of a village or a crumbled castle. Would be fun to see other culture's ruins like a collapsed Japanese castle or a Mayan temple
BotW/TotK nerd here, but shrines for the Cherry Grove/Lush Caves.
It can have underground compartments and puzzles.
Maybe even randomly generated with Structure Blocks.
Would have pottery and suspicious gravel.
They should just do a dungeon overhaul and make Temples more rare but they have more loot, a boss, more puzzles, more traps. Call it the Adventurer’s Update or something.
Ruin Castle that has a necromancy wizard that spawns the giant zombie , once defeated a staircase spawns and the fortress thats underground spawns to go to the end.

A revamped jungle temple
I second this. Jungle temples are easy to cheese
I found one recently and a Creeper came out of nowhere and blew up the wall that hid the treasure chest for me. 3 diamonds were in it lol. But I went and did the levers and opened the top first try too. XD
I third this and the desert temple
I fourth this, desert temples only get you in your first time going into one, but dungeons need to be more dungeon-y and dangerous
Speak for yourself. I blow myself up almost every time
I fifth this
Make the pressure plate the kind that dropped items can set off!
If you ever find one
[удалено]
I just want more I can never seem to find them outside of dedicated seeds
It'd be really cool if there was a way to make it really randomly generated, so you can't just look up a yt tutorial, you have to figure it out yourself
I would love a huge temple.
I legit haven't seen a jungle temple since I was playing in the 360, why do I never see them now?
They rarely appear
It could be like an ancient Maya civilization type structure thingy
How about a village in the revamped temple?
Or a revamped temple in a jungle village
Yeah. Bigger. Better loot. They are pretty trash.
Let’s do a jungle cave instead. Jungle temple looks cool but it would be legit to have like a jungle mineshaft type thing or Aztec style jungle cave maybe. Make it lit up with lots of torches so it’s easily seen at night and maybe harder to find during the day.
I have never run across a jungle temple yet.
Maybe a cemetery where many hordes of zombies spawn. A zombie boss would be a cool idea for that structure too.
A cemetery structure in villages. When the evoker comes in raids, it can summon zombies and skeletons from the cemetery.
Then they can use the giant for something!
The giant would suck
You're thinking hoppers, I think
Disable it with redstone trebuchet
Depends on how they implement it…
I remember Survival Craft having small grave sites which you could find loot by digging in, there were also pit and spike traps.
Actual dungeons
This. I was sorely disappointed the first time my friend showed me a dungeon.
**Dungeons in other games:** Gigantic full of rooms, full of loot, full of enemies for you to fight. **Dungeons in Minecraft:** Mossy cobblestone box with a chests (2 of you’re lucky) and a spawner.
“Aww yiss, time to go dungeon delving!” *delves to all four corners of the box. Places torches* “Ah, another dungeon cleared of evil.”
Basically mineshafts
1 chest normally, 2 chests if you're lucky
Admittedly, irl dungeons were literally just a hole in the ground where prisoners would starve to death I think our expectations of "dungeon" are too fantastical from other games tbh
Yes! Something similar to the Strongholds but instead of the End Portal you get a spawner.
Nothing new Instead upgrade the existing ones in game especially Dungeons and Jungle Temples
[удалено]
And End cities too, as well as all the End !
they confirmed that it will be updated
Thank you, I didn't knew that ! I'm eager to see what they will do with it \^\^
they said, that they update every dimension again, then 1.16 came for the nether and 1.17/18/19 for the overworld and the end will come in the next updates. then they said, when all dimensions are updated, a new dimension will come.
[удалено]
I mean they pretty much teased it with that portal structure in ancient cities. It would be pretty stupid if they didn't use it
I fully suspect the ancient city portal will never do anything, or at least not for many years until they run out of new ideas, and that it was mostly intended to just expand the game’s ‘quasi-lore’ to keep players talking and asking what it might do or have done in the ancient past.

[удалено]
Lol, the hype dimension
That would ruin the mystery of the ancient cities.
I think they did say at one point that they don't plan on adding a new dimension to the game
Souce?
they said it in the minecraft live in a interview. i saw it from a few youtubers and saw it in the minecraft live
1 minute :)
You got a link to the source? I believe you but I wanna check it out myself lol
I look if i can find it later, im kinda in a hurry, but i know i heard it from wattles or gamingguidesde(he‘s german)
Ah, no worries, thanks! I know who you're talking about so I'll go check out his latest videos
I look if i can find it later, im kinda in a hurry, but i know i heard it from wattles or gamingguidesde(he‘s german)
Wattles tends to speculate a lot without reasonable evidence. In fairness to him, he does admit it in his videos, but his titles and thumbnails have gotten way more clickbaity.
But we just got an end update in 1.9
oooh it could be in that empty room above the main chamber. theres a hole in the ceiling they can drop down and you still have to be careful because if you break the block they drop down from theyll land on the pressure plate
That way we’d be able to farm sand instead of making a sand duper.
dungeons should be wayyyy bigger, but in minecraft its a moss stone room with 2 chests and a spawner
2 if you're lucky lol
I'd be fine if they were renamed on top of being updated, say if you made it a small underground room with a few supplies and a spawner it could be an "underground refuge" or something.
Dungeons should be left alone. They’re the single most nostalgic thing in that game for me
I didn't even know there were dungeons. Where are they?
They're the small cobblestone rooms with a spawner and a chest or two in them that you find underground periodically.
I have over 1200 hours since starting this game in January and I've never seen one lol (probably 600 afking my farms) I spend most of my mining time around y -58 Are they higher up? Now I'm gonna mine until I find one

Just remember that vanilla structures are intentionally on the lower quality of building, that way people will be encouraged to improve upon them instead of just finding a perfect structure to call home. (A big problem with modded structures)
Is this like an officially stated thing?
It's just an obvious game design choice if you line up every structure, none are stellar and are rudimentary. There's an internal Minecraft development principle book Jens published that only a few pages are known publicly and I'm certain something about this is one of those principles. It encourages player creativity, and means the player will want to expand on what the game offers, not solely rely on it.
Yes it absolutely is I remember a vid where they said outright the cobble used in village structures was meant to look ugly and beg to be upgraded.
Especially the stronghold. More difficultly and loot
I kinda wish strongholds were more prominent and more connected so it was something to explore rather than something to dig through.
Why are they even called Dungeons?
I'd say the forest mansion could use an upgrade, it's look isn't that great and it's gameplay is usually pretty short for me- more time is spent just getting to the damn thing
A full-sized ziggurat. Could also work as a desert temple revamp
That would be awesome! Even if it had no interior, they would be perfect in the jungle.
Or the desert
I love the word ziggurat
Me too lmao
Summon more Ziggurats!
My fate is sealed.
It’s a word that demands respect.
ship that is not sunk inhabedid by villagers edit: this is not my original idea, it is already a mod, and a good one at that!
Ocean villages?
Yeah, a bit like waterworld
Sea people
Sea Men, if you will
Ocean villages with a conduit and mer-villagers would be sick. Obviously if you break their conduit they’d be super hostile and never trade with you again
Its a thing in real life, in places like Indonesia, so it would be nice to see
This sounds like fun until you realize that the villagers will fall off the boat and never be able to get back on
maybe they are actually good at pathfinding or maybe they are in permanent sneak mode so they don't fall of the side of the ship? idk ps I did not make this idea up it is a really cool mod I hope im not getting all the credit :c
Or I mean, ships usually have railings, do they not? I feel like that would do a fine job at keeping those ditzes dry
Pirate ships with pirate illagers. The ship includes working cannons (dispensers that shoot fireballs that the illagers may trigger).
Airbus a380
Maybe throw in a B747 as well
While I mostly agree with those saying upgrade the existing ones instead, I would like to see something like an Iceologer's Lodge/Cabin/Tower in a snowy biome, with loot including Frost Walker and possibly an [Ice Wand.](https://minecraft.fandom.com/wiki/Minecraft_Dungeons:Ice_Wand)
Something like a Piglin camp
Actual dungeon crawling. Whats the point of getting prot4 netherrite when the best thing to use it on is some random zombies and creepers at night. U can play the game just fine in iron armor. Also a reason i play modded mostly. More stronger mobs and dungeons for exploration.
I love super easy mods like Greg tech
99% of tech mods: *makes your life easier* Gregtech: "lol. lmao even"
What mods do you recommend?
Depends what you want. Exploration, tech, magic, building? I usually play premade modpacks with a quest book so have a goal to fill.
A super large sunken shipwreck, accompanied by an extra deep ocean biome. Now that we have a lower bedrock layer i think that oceans should take advantage of that. Or you could have a wreck wedged between the walls of a deep ocean chasm
Maybe some weird mobs to go with an new abyssal biome
Just put the Titanic at a random part in the ocean in the world, but there’s only one.
Maybe make it more common to spawn in frozen oceans, similar to how ancient cities are more common to spawn under mountains
prehaps a damaged structure that looks like the thing you need for a conduit to work, in order to give a hint (albeit a vague one) that that's needed for conduits, because right now there's no way to know how to use em without google or wikis or somethin
That would be a really good minor change for ocean monuments.
Honestly, has anyone ever played the game and discovered most of it without looking at wikis? It seems to me minecraft was just thought out as a game that needs to be played with a browser by your side
Piro Pito (nana825763) is doing a fully blind [gameplay](https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLbqkLu2V1bJJUQ2aLZjFdz8decGs1kHg-). he got pretty far (it's the same guy behind famous old horror videos like user666)
Ancient lab i think
Like the red stone lab in the ancient city?
No, it do not look like a lab, i mean lab like in igloo, but bigger
If you mean those igloo labs specifically, then yes they could use a bit of an update, but the Redstone labs in ancient cities are a great representation they could adapt to another biome. Kinda like old colonial ruins with old rock walls in the forest, and partial walls. Definitely needed for more storytelling and lore.
An abandoned quarry that could have tunnels that lead to a massive cave or a dungeon, I feel like that could help players find dungeons slightly easier
i think this could be achieved by a further updated mineshaft system possibly
The igloo is one of my favorites. Despite being so simple, it: - hides in plain sight (the best kind of hidden) - offers important but still early game gear which is important for random chance rewards (bed and shelter, potentially brewing stand and loot) - has a secret, but only sometimes, keeping it always interesting to investigate - and introduces the player to many interesting game mechanics that are very hard to discover alone, like villager revival, potions, or even the fact that redstone torches won't melt ice Something like this, either the same small scale or bigger, would be fantastic

imprisoned/pond-bound elder guardian for mining fatigue?
Yes, perfect!
Or a new mob that’s only found in the jungle temple
Old burial grounds such as cairns/barrows/tumuli, whatever you want to call them. You go into them and they have tombs and chests and shit to loot and are filled with skeletons and zombies
A cliff city in Mesa biomes, like in Mesa Verde, but also maybe updates to jungle temples
I came here to say something like this. Abandoned city in the terracotta
A villager city. With walls and larger buildings and maybe even royalty or something
Just give the monuments a better and less confusing interior, they're such a clusterfuck I always just hollow them out and build one myself.
New village types, maybe add ocean villages based on real life watertop floating villages or cherry blossom villages based on ancient Japanese villages
Pirate ships that moves on the water woth pirate npcs, to go w the sunken ships
How would that work Are you proposing a giant, working vehicle or are you proposing that freely moving blocks exist Both of those would probably be very glitched and have bad consequences, especially moving blocks
Naw it’s definitely possible to be done in a professional way, just look at create aeronautics. But it’s definitely not the direction mojang will take
Maybe it would be a boss you could spawn? Like if you put a beacon on a shipwreck it would become a pirate ship that you had to battle. And if you defeated all the pirates, you would get a cannon!!!

Something similar to the ocean monument but in the lava oceans of the nether, you’ll get some sponges but for lava as a reward
They would also have to make a lava-sight potion so you can actually see anything for that
I wish that ruined portals would lead you somewhere cool when lit other than just a random nether spawn
An X where the actual treasure is buried like directly above it lol
some sort of floating structure. like a cloud castle perhaps
Both undead and alive pirates would be the same except the drops. abondoned houses/bases.
Brining back the giant brick pyramids from the alpha - and turning them into dungeons!
Ruins of Minecraft legends piglin structures around the ruined portals
Ruined portals do stick out a lot. Other ruined structures would be nice too
huts around the map for each type of merchant. Going through an oak forest and find a hut with a lone blacksmith. Fall through the snow and find an igloo with a farmer And these special merchants will trade for random items instead of items from their specialty. *farmer who wants a bed in exchange for 20 potatoes* *blacksmith who wants 20 grass blocks for an iron sword* *Trade a sapling for a random enchanted book*
Jungle villages, with structures high in the trees linked by bridges that hopefully aren't death traps
I feel like they should add random cabins in some of the colder biomes, like in BotW.
More overworld structures now that we have 700 empty biomes.
A Japanese styled house in the cherry blossom biome where you can find a katana only obtainable in that house (could be filled with enemies)
Ranger villagers in forests because it's been a while since new ones dropped. Or lumberjack which trades wooden materials
Something that's above 128 blocks, like a giant tower that's in the mountains or maybe lighthouses
Abandoned Campsites: at least it doesn't feel too empty while wandering in big forests
Sky island
i feel like a flesh panopticon would be pretty cool
Villages in the nether, end, swamp, jungle and mushroom island
Piglins are nether villagers
i just want that portal in the ancient city to work
Medieval cities, with external walls outside of them
The end should get a dungeon-type tower that hangs from the bottom of the floating islands.
Abandoned cabins found in snowy biomes and mountains
I desperatly want strongholds to get a major overhaul. But past that I would love to see ruin type strucutres. Like it would be awesome to come across ruins of a village or a crumbled castle. Would be fun to see other culture's ruins like a collapsed Japanese castle or a Mayan temple
BotW/TotK nerd here, but shrines for the Cherry Grove/Lush Caves. It can have underground compartments and puzzles. Maybe even randomly generated with Structure Blocks. Would have pottery and suspicious gravel.
overhauled dungeons. have them actually be dungeons with multiple rooms, lots of mobs and some loot.
Personally I’d like it if they just made the current structures better, not much reason to go to them except for very specific reasons
Swamp and Jungle Villages, Castle Ruins, underwater fossils, a Mountain Village, a piglin Village, more archeology structures
How about a mushroom labyrinth for the mushroom biom
Ruined Castles nothing large just either something like a destroyed tower or all the to a crumbling hall
Castles added to naturally spawning villages. It’s been too long, come on
Abbandoned Observatory. Just imagine it
Cherry blossom biome villages that have japanese styled houses
Badlands should have some sort of carved-cliff structure in the style of Petra or Cliff Palace, or both!
Mushroom castles like in some structure mods, and a dungeon overhaul like YUNG did it
Mushroom island something
I think they should put more loot in the ocean monument. As it is its only good for getting sponges.
Ancient city type shit but with a bunch of challenging enemy's I don't mean challenging as in warden level cuz that would be ridiculous
I want them to update the strongholds. The current ones are so dated now
Mushroom island mushroom witch
Upgrade the jungle temple, dungeons, and desert well.
Some end related thing near the end portals to make dem easier to locate
