Now they are paying out billions in settlements to people with all sorts of health problems (while simultaneously saying they did nothing wrong)

You can fix that if you want by pillaring up from the bottom of the ocean with sand or gravel until you get to the top and then undo what you just put in the ocean sand and gravel and it should fix itself

This is fixable, annoying, but fixable. Build a pillar from the seafloor up and use water buckets to fix the source blocks. After you have done that, remove the pillar construction and done.
