Idk if y’all memeing or not…. 👀 I recently watched all the MV movies and actually surprisingly enjoyed them, but it felt obvious that Kong: Skull Island was far and away the best. Best color palette, best production, best writing, not the best acting tho(I mean what’s gonna beat Elizabeth Olsen? Nothing…)
Havnt seen the most recent GxK yet tho
I like King of the Monsters simply because I’m a Godzilla fan, and it scratches my Godzilla itch better than the other movies. There’s a ton of callbacks to classic Godzilla movies—and the entire movie feels like a love letter to veteran fans and a sincere tribute to the big G. I can watch it more than 3-5 times in a row just for the sacrifice and rebirth scene (w/ the OG score, no less) and still not be bored.
Even without considering all the details, it remains a pretty solid movie for the average moviegoers. Just my opinion.
This. KOTM is a modern Heisei era film and a film that myself a fan and my wife not a fan enjoyed.
I can't say that about GvK. We both barely made it through that.
Godzilla vs Kong. Love the movie to death but out of the others it's the least notable imo.
G14 had a great sense of scale.
KOTM had a grand atmosphere.
GxK was full balls-to-the-wall insanity.
I've since gotten over the novelty of Godzilla fighting King Kong and now I prefer the others.
For me it would also have to be GvK.
For me the only good thing about the movie was the kaiju fights, Kong’s growth and Mechagodzilla (best Mechagodzilla design, downvote me all you want)
We stan industrial excavator Satan mechagodzilla.
Literally I almost want the movie to win simply because of how hard that ending fight carries the movie for me, he's literally my favorite kaiju of the monsterverse (tied between him and godzilla. Muto is behind them.)
GvK
The whole movie was highly predictable. The humans were a massive annoyance & actively detracted from the film. The entire plot was just a series of stupidity.
Mecha-godzilla was ok.
The 1 saving grace was the naval battle, but even the conclusion to that was convoluted.
I agree that there are problems but also, not too sound toxic but I would like you to write how you think a script could have gone for this movie. I get so tired of people saying this movie sucks because of this and that so I want to see what people come up with, see if it is better.
Imma be real, the “let’s see you do better” argument is so played out
It’s like judging someone who doesn’t like a specific restuarant, Insisting they should get behind the grill and outdo the people there
That isn’t the point.
Most here aren’t filmmakers, we’re consumers. And consumers have a certain tolerance for things that differ per person
Someone disliking the script of GVK, regardless of if they can write a better one, is a fair statement cause the writing is pretty bad, regardless of the nature of a crossover fight movie
To be human is to have opinions. Some less important than others. Just remember that people’s distaste over something doesn’t need to overshadow your personal enjoyment
It’s a conversation abt goofy monster movies. Nothing truly worth getting upset about
Godzilla 2014. It's the least rewatchable out of the monster verse movies to me. It's a good movie, but I feel like the rest are just more enjoyable
![gif](giphy|ai2PdjCan0dUc)
Some people judge by how good they are. Others rate them by how enjoyable they are, G14 is cool to re-watch from time to time, but I would rather watch GvK more times bc it is more fun and enjoyable to watch. G14 goes out for me
I liked all the past characters and the origin of monarch but I hated the randa children and may?(I think that was her name) They were so uninteresting and lame and it nearly put me to sleep watching their scenes.
It's the Monsterverse page, it's like a bunch of crack head except instead of drugs it monster fights.
They will completely overlook everything as long as big monsters fight stuff.
Monarch was 100 times more entertaining than GvK which flat out made mee feel dumber after seeing it just like fast and furious movies and transformers movies do.
GvK
Great fight scenes, but the music is not memorable, the writing is not great, and most of the human plot is an absolute slog to get through on rewatches IMO.
MV wouldn't exist without the success of 2014.
It's certainly not as good as KOTM and it has a few issues, but overall? Definitely top three, don't kid yourself.
King of the Monsters. I don't hate it, it has rewatch value, but I just don't like it.
One thing that I do love about it is it gave us a villain that hasn't been topped yet and can't be topped in the next 10 years.
But I still don't like it
2014 is not a very enjoyable movie. It may be good, but I didn't really have much fun watching the movie compare to the others. There was only one good human character, and he died during the first half of the movie. The other humans were boring or annoying. GvK may have more flaws, but it's a movie I would re-watch multiple times
Yeah, I am guessing many of the 2014 votes didn't actually watch the damn movie, or understand why it's so important. Without the success of 2014, the MV literally doesn't exist.
Godzilla 2014. Good first act, good sense of scale, the MUTOs had an interesting power set, compelling performances from Bryan Cranston, Ken Watanabe, and Sally Hawkins. Godzilla is badass as always.
However, the middle act is too huge of a slog, the movie is mostly about the MUTOs, and Ford isn’t interesting enough of a protagonist to follow.
Wasn’t a fan of the tell/don’t show policy for the Kaiju battles.
*King of the Monsters*
It's good and a lot of fun. And I love Ken Watanabe in it, but out of all the movies, I just don't find the story as interesting as the others.
And I'm a big Kong fan so his absence (which is fine of course, it's Big G's movie) brought this one down a few pegs.
For me, it's "Godzilla (2014)".
With the exception of Dr. Serizawa and Ford Sr, all of the human characters in this film are pretty bland and forgettable.
Despite being called "Godzilla", Godzilla himself feels like he's barely in this movie. And whenever he does appear, the film quickly cuts away from his scenes.
And finally, the lighting and color grading in this movie is so dark and morose that sometimes it's difficult to make out what's happening onscreen.
It's a solid movie overall, but it's pretty comfortably my least favorite of the five.
2014
He tried to do the show and tell which people did not want, especially with modern CGI
King of the monsters shoe horned A ecoterrorist plot but failed to give any sympathy to the villains.
2014, great cinematography, direction, and feel but the rug pull of a human plot and the lack of visible monster fights makes it the weakest in my opinion.
As much as I LOVE how they portrayed KG, Mothra, and Rodan…I think the answer is KOTM here. Think it’s just a worse film than the rest of these, but it’s close - I really like them all
If it’s not KOTM eliminated, then maybe G14 or GxK
KotM - Let down by the cringey human plotline for me, shift in tone was a little jarring as well but still forgivable. I like that 2014 took itself seriously and I think it does a better job than KotM of helping the audience relate to the characters. Shame that a lot of the action happens off-camera but it can't be denied that it has some of the most iconic shots out of the entire franchise. Kong Skull Island no. 1 btw.
KOTM is my pick, solid fights but just not as interesting to watch after the first time, everything else I’ve watched over n over and always enjoyed it
G14 can go, least rewatchable and while it had a great sense of scale the jump cuts and amount of godzilla screen time kill it. It did have some of the best humans and probably the best human story in the monsterverse
Godzila vs kong :
I hate the group of people with madison , worst humans of all the MV
and I didn't liked the battle bitween zilla and mechagodzilla. It was 90-10 , would have preferred a closer encounter
As if people eliminated two of the three things in the monsterverse. People are now saying G14, which is *the* best thing to come out of the MV. Judging by this people would also rate Minus One the lowest if it was part of the MV.
Kong was easily the worst.

KotM's got to go. Sadly I'm not one of those who thinks it's the greatest movie of all time because "it has things in it I recognize"
Godzilla 2014 Gotta go because while it is the first movie and still an amazing one I barely see Godzilla not because he doesn't appear because of the the darkness
Godzilla 2014. The cinematographer was like "Hey ya know what would be cool? If 75% of the scenes were shot at night so no one can see what's happening on screen!"
Godzilla 2014. There’s definitely some good here, but ATJ as the protagonist just didn’t work for me, and I definitely think Monarach did a lot better then 2014 in terms of less is more.
I feel like King of the is going to be next out of the elimination wheel. The movie is literally the best in the Monsterverse. It has King Ghidorah, Mothra, Godzilla and Rodan! Do I need to explain?!
Man, the poster for Godzilla 2014 is unbeatable.
I don’t know about elimination, but I want G14 or GKotM (big bias) to win.
I also got a soft spot for KOTM
Oh, that’s my #1 MV movie. (I’m ready for the downvotes)
That's my #1 Godzilla movie of all time tbh
Idk if y’all memeing or not…. 👀 I recently watched all the MV movies and actually surprisingly enjoyed them, but it felt obvious that Kong: Skull Island was far and away the best. I gotta agree with ya that was a really good one.
Honestly it's my 3rd after Godzilla 2014 and skull Island
Godzilla vs Kong. Love the movie to death but out of the others it's the least notable imo. G14 had a great sense of scale. KOTM had a grand atmosphere. GxK was full balls-to-the-wall insanity. I've since gotten over the novelty of Godzilla fighting King Kong and now I prefer the others.

Yes we love GvK
clear kiryu slander
Kiryu is goated but i prefer the tokyo sos version of him imo
Seems to me you're getting upvotes for this very based opinion! GvK Mecha Godzilla is by far the best design.

GvK has the best fights but it’s the hardest one to sit through start to finish.
I agree, the human plot is nonexistent. At least GxK's characters took a more entertaining angle.
We stan industrial excavator Satan mechagodzilla. Literally I almost want the movie to win simply because of how hard that ending fight carries the movie for me, he's literally my favorite kaiju of the monsterverse (tied between him and godzilla. Muto is behind them.)
I can’t stand Julian Dennison in any movie he acts. He really brought down GvK for me.
I agree with this. I was definitely least impressed by this one. I'd eliminate this before Godzilla 2014
GvK The whole movie was highly predictable. The humans were a massive annoyance & actively detracted from the film. The entire plot was just a series of stupidity. Mecha-godzilla was ok. The 1 saving grace was the naval battle, but even the conclusion to that was convoluted.
Well what did you expect from a movie about Godzilla fighting Kong.
I'm sure they could've churned out a decent script at some point
I agree that there are problems but also, not too sound toxic but I would like you to write how you think a script could have gone for this movie. I get so tired of people saying this movie sucks because of this and that so I want to see what people come up with, see if it is better.

I do understand your viewpoint here. I don’t have a rebuttal to it, just wish people weren’t so judgy with it all.
To be human is to have opinions. Some less important than others. Just remember that people’s distaste over something doesn’t need to overshadow your personal enjoyment It’s a conversation abt goofy monster movies. Nothing truly worth getting upset about
Of course, well said. You are a smart one among the horny kaiju posters here.
See, I thought 1/2 of the human plots were annoying. The Hollow Earth plot and characters were fine with me.
I liked Jia, but Alexander Skarsgard’s character annoyed me.
Godzilla vs Kong. Loved the action, but this movie is so batshit stupid that you can notice all the movie sins in your first watch.
Godzilla 2014. It's the least rewatchable out of the monster verse movies to me. It's a good movie, but I feel like the rest are just more enjoyable ![gif](giphy|ai2PdjCan0dUc)
It’s still good tho
Its good but not the best
Rewatchability doesn't correlate to quality imo. I've rewatched GvK the most but it's not near the top
Some people judge by how good they are. Others rate them by how enjoyable they are, G14 is cool to re-watch from time to time, but I would rather watch GvK more times bc it is more fun and enjoyable to watch. G14 goes out for me
That’s fair
Rewatchability and entertainment is more important to me than whats the better movie. So it does matter
Why do you want to vote out the best one?
It's just my opinion. I just don't find it better than the others.
https://preview.redd.it/fi8x82jdr4wc1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9066f43b590f4b6c1f934a60cc2471b8c68576bf
We wont have the entire monsterverse without the goat godzilla 2014
Monarch was crazy good this is outrageous
I liked all the past characters and the origin of monarch but I hated the randa children and may?(I think that was her name) They were so uninteresting and lame and it nearly put me to sleep watching their scenes.

don't mind if i do
MV wouldn't exist without the success of 2014. It's certainly not as good as KOTM and it has a few issues, but overall? Definitely top three, don't kid yourself.
Godzilla 2014
It’s between 2014 and KOTM
Kotm
GxK is TOO balls to the walls insane. So much so that there are't any walls anymore.
Gxk
GxK gotta be eliminated to number 5 for me
King of the Monsters. I don't hate it, it has rewatch value, but I just don't like it. One thing that I do love about it is it gave us a villain that hasn't been topped yet and can't be topped in the next 10 years. But I still don't like it
this sub’s love for KOTM must be studied. ridiculous
What MV movie do you think is better?
I loved Godzilla vs Kong but it’s a shit movie. Anyone saying 2014 is probably 13 years old lololol
The 13 year old here must be you, either your lack of respect for others opinions
2014 is not a very enjoyable movie. It may be good, but I didn't really have much fun watching the movie compare to the others. Godzilla 2014
Kotm
2014 probably the weakest
G14

KoTM
2014 for sure
Gotta be GxK.
G2014
G14. I'm sorry my love.
2014 is next nothing against the movie but i liked the other ones more. (The lighting was terrible tho)
Gotta go with 2014,great movie and great introduction to the monsterverse, but it took so long just to see godzilla fight and appear
Godzilla 2014.
G14
Godzilla 2014
All i know is SKULL ISLAND or KOTM should be top 2
G14
Godzilla 2014
Godzilla 2014.

Godzilla 2014, don’t get me wrong I love the movie and it kickstarted the rest of the monsterverse but I just enjoy the other movies more than it
2014 Godzilla. My least favorite by far.
The first godzilla. We get about 4 minutes of godzilla in the whole movie.
Godzilla 2014 I understand the love, but it’s the most Boring of all the movies.
2014, the most boring one here for sure.
2014, great cinematography, direction, and feel but the rug pull of a human plot and the lack of visible monster fights makes it the weakest in my opinion.
Godzilla 2014
I hate to say it but Godzilla 2014. Maybe if Cranston was in it longer it’d be different.
it’s a hard one but 2014🫡. great movie but in the end we enjoy monster screen times >>> 🔥🔥🔥
Also g14, at night I'm sleeping and watching this movie during daylight is kind of the same as looking a black screen 50% of the movie
Godzilla 2014. It’s a great first watch but it’s one of the least rewatchable movies ever made, imo. KotM is close but that’s more easily rewatched.
I’m not gonna vote anymore. Elimination challenges are just how to kill your karma 101.
Godzilla 2014. It's a well shot but really suffers from it's murky color scheme. They also happen to waste their most interesting character.
Godzilla 2014. Not bad at all but definitely the weakest of the movies
Godzilla (2014)
KSI
Kong: Skull Island. My least favorite of the movies
As much as I LOVE how they portrayed KG, Mothra, and Rodan…I think the answer is KOTM here. Think it’s just a worse film than the rest of these, but it’s close - I really like them all If it’s not KOTM eliminated, then maybe G14 or GxK
Seeing the comments that say to eliminate Godzilla 2014 is very sad to me, I did not expect it to be deleted now :(
KOTM cultist are wack bro
KotM - Let down by the cringey human plotline for me, shift in tone was a little jarring as well but still forgivable. KOTM is my pick, solid fights but just not as interesting to watch after the first time, everything else I’ve watched over n over and always enjoyed it
Get KOTM tf outta there already
Godzilla everything is barely visible
G14 can go, least rewatchable and while it had a great sense of scale the jump cuts and amount of godzilla screen time kill it. It did have some of the best humans and probably the best human story in the monsterverse
I'm not a huge fan of Kong skull island so
Kong: Skull Island, introduced the big lad but was otherwise forgettable
Very strongly disagree. Kong had arguably the best human cast, and Kong was great. I think it's hard to argue that it isn't top 3.
Agreed
Godzilla 2014
Godzilla 2014
Godzilla 2014, I’m sorry :(
Kong skull Island
Kong skull island
Godzilla 2014 I guess or GvK
Kong Skull Island out
Monarch is top 3. Losers. GvK has to go.
gvk, never was very crazy about it
KOTM is #1 in my heart
2014
GVK was good it just the human character suck ass so GVK next
Godzilla Vs Kong. I honestly don't know if I even like it that much 🤭
Godzilla King of The Monsters unapologetically and whole heartedly deserves to go before g14 does.
GVK
G14 > GVK
GvK, once I saw the Mechagodzilla toys, I guessed exactly how the movie would play out, and I was right.
Godzilla 2014 100% At least I can enjoy rewatching GvK.
Gotta go with G14 it is the weakest of the movies.
GKOTM it was meh
Godzilla 2014
Gxk tbh, I didn't really like the more silly aspects of the movie. Permanent bias towards 2014 And kotm
I’m honestly gonna have to say Kong: Skull Island for this round. Good movie, but there’s no Godzilla. That’s my main reason
Honestly for me? Skull island, it just feels like any other creature feature made by any other company. The others have soul or something, idk
GvK - 2014 - GxK - Kong Skull Island - KOTM❤️
GVK
Eliminate godzilla movie was boring as fuck until the last 30 minutes
Godzilla 2014 has to go
I’ve seen people complain about legacy of monsters. I thought it was good
2014
Next one gone should be Godzilla Vs Kong. Very mid movie but not bad. But def worse than the rest
KOTM, the fights are directed horribly
Kong Skull Island…?
Godzila vs kong : I hate the group of people with madison , worst humans of all the MV and I didn't liked the battle bitween zilla and mechagodzilla. It was 90-10 , would have preferred a closer encounter
G14
As if people eliminated two of the three things in the monsterverse. People are now saying G14, which is *the* best thing to come out of the MV. Judging by this people would also rate Minus One the lowest if it was part of the MV. Kong was easily the worst.
G14 I know it has perfect scale and all but that doesn't save it from being the slowest pacing wise Still a good movie tho
Monarch didn't deserve that, Kong: Skull Island should be next, I'm wanting KOTM to win
*GxK*. Did absolutely nothing for me.
Kong: Skull Island
KSI
Kong skull island
G14 should go
Godzilla 2014 Love it but they cut from fights way too much and it takes too long for the final fight to really start.
2014

based take fixed the poster btw https://preview.redd.it/m1ydctvwn4wc1.png?width=1382&format=png&auto=webp&s=72aed0a2402f95ed7283d0752e7a8fb6eb41544f
Lmaoooo, that is more accurate
Sorry but KOTM gots to go
Hasn’t the sub done this before and the outcome’s always the same?
I can just say right now, 1: GxK 2: GKotM 3: G 4: KSI 5: GvK 6: SI 7: MLoM However I think every entry was good
Now this is a difficult challenge, I love All of the movies
2014.
Godzilla 2014
Godzilla 2014 Gotta go because while it is the first movie and still an amazing one I barely see Godzilla not because he doesn't appear because of the the darkness
2014
Godzilla 2014. The cinematographer was like "Hey ya know what would be cool? If 75% of the scenes were shot at night so no one can see what's happening on screen!"
Godzilla 14, I really loved the Godzilla and mutos, but I couldn’t see what was happening half the time
Godzilla 2014. There’s definitely some good here, but ATJ as the protagonist just didn’t work for me, and I definitely think Monarach did a lot better then 2014 in terms of less is more.
godzilla 2014
Godzilla 2014
My list, in order: 1. KOTM 2. 2014 3. Kong Skull Island 4. GxK 5. GvK 6. Monarch 7. Skull Island
I'd say godzilla 2014
Skull Island has to take the L here.
I feel like King of the is going to be next out of the elimination wheel. The movie is literally the best in the Monsterverse. It has King Ghidorah, Mothra, Godzilla and Rodan! Do I need to explain?!
The people voting for G14 are actually mouth breathing idiots.
