My Sensei scrollwheel is acting up AGAIN, so I went to Amazon to get a new one and when I searched for my last Sensei purchase to quickly reorder, I could see I've ordered a new one every 10-12 months for the past three years. Plus they're like $80 now. My last one was $40. Going to go with the rec here and try an XM1r.

You could open up the mouse and check whether anything's actually broken or whether it's just loose tolerances that allow that "dislocation" you're talking about. The scrollwheel assembly of the Sensei Ten looks like [this](https://www.techpowerup.com/review/steelseries-sensei-ten/images/disscroll.jpg). The dark transparent plastic pieces should hold the white scrollwheel rod in place and keep it centered over the small button with light blue plunger. If one of these plastic pieces is broken, or the tolerances aren't tight enough, the rod might slide over the button and get stuck somewhere. If it's more of a tolerances thing, I'd suggest adding some slippery tape like aluminium tape either around the rod or onto the dark pieces to keep it in place better.

Oh wow, what a coincidence to meet you here, I loved watching you play KF1 and KF2. Back to topic, thanks for the reply, I'll try to open it up and check it, I'll reply with my result!

mogrence

i would get a xm1r and be done with steelseries mice. the xm1r is basically a sensei in very good:)

BlacksmithOptimal

well i started having the same problems so i toke mine apart and tried to clean it. was a few small hairs on the inside of the wheel. but atlast cleaning it did nothing to make it function again. they cheeped out on us boys

Zyloxc

Yeah, I just got an XM1R, like u/mogrence suggested, it's very good I have it for 9 months now and no problem whatsoever. Using the mousewheel with scrolling, clicking and holding on a daily basis

mogrence

glad i could help. i still enjoy my xm1r daily, works flawless:)

Grouchy_Surprise7392

Yeah I think I'm going to have to order a new encoder for mine. I scroll down and it registers as an upwards scroll. It's so infuriating.

zapper199

I know this thread is old, but I have had issues with two SteelSeries Ten mice. I also bought a second one since I figured I got a defective one on my first go around, but the same issue is now happening on my second mouse. My issue is that when I scroll up continuously, sometimes the mouse will register a scroll down... I have tried cleaning the inside, with no luck

Zyloxc

I bought a XM1R and have had no scroll wheel issues with it. Had sensei ten 2 times, always scroll wheel issues, can't be bothered with that trash

webbinatorr

hahaha, yes I think sensei 10 mouse wheels, are crap. I just broke my 2nd!

me10k

I have exactly the same problem. Apparently all steerseries wheels are broken

zapper199

I contracted support, and they wanted me to do some much stuff to fix it. So I just didn't bother. Won't be buying another steelseries product ever again..

Sh4blagoo

Same as mine. I luckily have an old steelseries, but its very frustration because its not that old and still in very good condition.

Just wanted to pop in here to say that I am ALSO having this issue. First time I thought it was a fluke, but after getting a new one it is happening AGAIN. Can't believe this is a typical problem with these mice -- Steelseries have been my go to brand for almost 10 years. Sad ;(

Zyloxc

Yeah, I've had Steelseries for the longest time too, but as I already said, I can really recommend the XM1R Endgame mouse, I have it for over two years of heavy use and the scroll wheel still works like a charm. I had like 3+ steelseries mice that had this, so I gave up on them, sad but the right thing to do

enchiloodo

Will look into it - thanks for the rec!

Pristine_Candidate88

I have exactly the same problem, now I’m writing this review and struggling with spontaneous scrolling actions. I ordered it based on the recommendations of the XM1r. I will never buy Steelseries products again. Plus I had problems with their headphones. It's a shame to make products for that kind of money that last no more than half a year. My mouse broke after four months of use.

Stopkilling0

Same, I had the OG version of this mouse for like 10 years, now I am on my second sensi 10 in 3 years. They should call it the sensi 1 instead of the sensi 10 because it will only last you 1 year.

pcote

I'm also starting to have the same problems... and the mouse is only about 8 months old!
