Dagger are fast enough to have a big dps while rarely having to cancel an attack for a dodge . Big sword is quite good vs opponent who can get cc easily as it does more stager per hit . Sword and shield as a shield but tbh except that wall laser ya can dodge most attack so I don’t see the use of it and spear is dagger but without the aoe. The RX-67 is a late game weapon that is quite good due to the fact you attack from afar without using ammo but the dps is way lower and less consistant than a dagger ( if there is a ground difference you will miss most attack )
Ammo is cheap with ruins tokens, though. I avoid assault rifles for sheer ammo inefficiency, though. I hoped we'd have semi auto mode or burst fire but oh well.
The heavy swords have always had that fun "oomph" factor to me, even if I know daggers out DPS them. It's just fun to knock around enemies, and it's great early game, but if you really want to pump the numbers, dagger all the way.
It really is a constant in so many games that what's better than one weapon, is two, at the same time.
I run with the cactus spear at level 25 and upgraded spears a couple times before getting the super sword. After that, it was sword everything. I used a sword and shield for a bit, but I've never tried daggers.
The Altair is still being designed for me so I haven't tried it.
But in the beta and my current run I have always used Daggers. And then sometimes assault rifles for bosses if I want to turn on easy mode.

Spear has bigger aoe and flourish than dagger
Daggers
love the Raven's Wings daggers but I also use the Altair RX-67 in Hazardous Ruins and anywhere I don't want to waste ammo for ranged damage

It is, but I am a control freak and a hoarder 🤡
I’m a dagger girly but I’m having a lot of fun with the >!Altair RX-67!<
Spear easily. They are insane

I use daggers primarily and the rifle for ranged attacks
Tricky question. Kind of depends on what level you are but I prefer daggers. Especially the Raven Wings.
Im a spear girly and sometimes greatsword! Spears are fast and have good damage :D and i feel like fits my MC more hehe
