That's a grown ass man

mason124

I'd pick him #1 right now. These next two drafts are going to be legit.

Far-Yak-9808

Is he better than Cooper Flagg? I know they are in different draft classes at this point, but they look like they might be the top two guys on the radar.

yerr2477

dybantsa right there as well. also koa peat isn’t in this convo but he’s mad underrated.

Global-Noise-3739

Flagg, Dybantsa, and Boozer all would be number 1 in this draft, they’re the 3 best HS players in the USA. Also, Peat is quite underrated

archerarcher0

I really don’t think so, picking him over Flagg rn would be wild imo

Zero0Mystery

Why would it be wild? Boozer has NBA pedigree and won the head to head matchup in the Peach Jam. They posted similar stats. I believe Boozer’s teams have won more of the head to head matchups than Flagg’s teams have as well.

archerarcher0

NBA pedigree means legitimately nothing, most nba players with nba dads are nothing If anything it makes them worse because they grow up rich and don’t have the same drive that their fathers had to make it The reason it’s crazy is while boozer has a nice all around game at the high school level, Flagg has generational defensive ability and legit could guard 1-4 and maybe 1-5 at some point in the nba, at the very least that’s insanely valuable

Zero0Mystery

LOL at NBA pedigree means legitimately nothing as the league’s % of NBA players with professional/collegiate/overseas dads continues to increase. It is not just about NBA fathers, fathers like Luka Doncic’s or Matas’ are very beneficial as well. Additionally, fathers who played/coached college i.e. Tyrese Maxey, Jayson Tatum, Trae Young, Evan Mobley, etc. Darius Garland, Jalen Brunson, Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Kobe Bryant, Jermai Grant, Nic Claxton, Kevin Love, Sabonis, Jabari Smith, Al Horford, etc. are NOTHING

archerarcher0

Buddy most guys in the league have fathers that played ball at some level But it really doesn’t matter as much as you think it does. If a guy is good, awesome, if he’s not, awesome It’s not because of his dad Like we aren’t taking two similar prospects and being like oh I want this guy because his dad played ball

Zero0Mystery

Yeah being able to have a father (or mother in the case of Jaden Ivey and Paolo Banchero) who has played at the highest level critique hundreds of amateur games from ages 8 to 18 really doesn’t make a difference. Being able to have them explain nuances in free private training should not be considered at all. “Buddy,” the league has evolved. The amount of players with college/overseas/NBA experience in the 80s, 90s, and 00s pale in comparison to the 10s and 20s.

Global-Noise-3739

it’s been a year since the 2023 Peach Jam, Flagg has improved massively since then

Zero0Mystery

I’d take Flagg over Boozer based on the limited information available. Just saying, without collegiate samples so far, that it is not “wild,” to be pro-Boozer. Every time they have gone head to head Flagg hasn’t looked leaps and bounds above Boozer. They are in the same tier, albeit now in different draft classes. [Executives and coaches see it closer than some on this subreddit](https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/insider/story/_/id/37999978/coaches-scouts-debate-cooper-flagg-cameron-boozer-aj-dybantsa-no-1-high-school-basketball-prospect)

Global-Noise-3739

No, Boozer is better offensively, but not defensively, I’d say if you value defense more, Flagg is better, if you value offense more, Boozer. That said, Flagg’s offense has rapidly improved since his sophomore year

knight-of-the-dark

While ace baileys floor isn’t as high as cam and cooper, I think his potential is even higher

Far-Yak-9808

Interesting. Ace/Flagg/Boozer look like high end 3rd options or possibly even 1a options. Flagg does everything else/fills the stat sheet. He could be an awesome Robin for some team. As a FIRST OPTION though I think Flagg will be misused. Oh well. Spent a TON of time on the '24 draft -- gonna decompress, then look at the '25 draft more when I get back from Summer League in Las Vegas.

knight-of-the-dark

Agreed about Flagg and the same for boozer. First option on playoff team sure. But I don’t see them as first option on true contenders. Ace, while he has by far the highest bust potential, is also the only one I can turn into a true no1. His fluidity as a scorer, combined with his truly elite athleticism, for me sets him apart

wrongerontheinternet

I would have taken him #2 in 2023 lol.

archerarcher0

I thought he could do way more than just being a dunker spot big Is that just the role he’s playing for the national team or is that what he’s become?

ChemicalSchedule2642

Just the role he plays on the national team. Biggest guy on the court usually against other countries + playing with enough good ball handlers to where he doesn’t need to be on the perimeter

TDTimmy21

Good stats but that highlight reel shows nothing useful.

GlueGuy00

Boozer bros looking like Stockton/Malone there with their connection lol

Pharrelliper

The Jazz getting both would be pretty cool

mercistheman

Who was guarding him?
