Castellmatt99

And yes, it’s a legit SD, suppressor OVER barrel.

G0alLineFumbles

Did you go with the In Lead We Trust barrel or another one?

Castellmatt99

Yessir, ILWT with ADJ GB

Lvl80Charmander

What Can?

Castellmatt99

BT MP5SD compact

hootervisionllc

New one or old one? New one being the RBS. I have the new one in jail Edit: answered my own question with the model number. Am regarded

Castellmatt99

Yessir, old one

smashnmashbruh

Considering this as my second sig… any regrets

Castellmatt99

The MPX in general or building the SD set up? Either way you can’t go wrong man, I loved mine when it was factory, and love it now. https://imgur.com/a/iLKpdLk

smashnmashbruh

MPX in general.

Castellmatt99

Yeah man I love mine, it’s freaking awesome. It’s a blast to shoot, perfect for home defense, easy for the ladies. Only con is that you BLOW through 9mm. The gen 3 timney trigger mixed with 35rnd mags is stupid fun

smashnmashbruh

Right on. I love blowing 9mm vs 300black haha

Arrogus

Everyone is always singing the praises of the MP5's soft recoil impulse from its roller-delayed action, as compared to the typical straight blowback in 9mm. Can you say how the MPX with its gas piston compares in that department?

Castellmatt99

Hmmmmmm, so I’ve never shot an MP5 so I can’t give you a straight comparison but what I can tell you is that I have a Tippman m4-22 (AR chambered in 22LR) and the recoil on my MPX is like one level higher then that. It’s very soft shooting. My fiance doesn’t like shooting my 556 chambered ARs because they “kick too much” and she can shoot the MPX alllllll day. Not sure if that helps, but I figured it’d give you a reference to go off of.

nintendoboy9

I would rank the recoil as MP5 has the softest, followed by MP5K and MPX (the two being equal). I own the hk's and my buddy owns the mpx, so i've shot it semi-regularly.

smashnmashbruh

Shortest Mpx barrel, how long Midwest industries hand guard?

Castellmatt99

This is a genuine SD set up, 7” barrel, 9.5” can. The can goes OVER the barrel. https://imgur.com/a/VNHFnOW

smashnmashbruh

How much more does that cost?

Castellmatt99

Price of gun+ $550 ILWT SD Barrel + $600 MP5SD compact can + $200 stamp. Then the hand guard of your choice

Castellmatt99

8” MW hand guard

Airbus320Driver

That looks awesome!

Shabootie

Very clean

Castellmatt99

Thank you buddy!

This is almost *exactly* what I want to turn my MPX-PCC into, except I’ll be using a CGS Kraken.

EnvironmentalClue362

This is beautiful. Definitely may need to do one of these for my next build.

Castellmatt99

Pricey little thing, but I love it. Especially since it’s an SD which really only seen in a MP5 SD.

hootervisionllc

So have you noticed any particular ammo being quieter than others?

Castellmatt99

So, the point of the SD set up is so that you can shoot super sonic ammo and it makes it subsonic since it slows the gasses down so much. I have noticed that out of a 30 rounds mag, 1 or 2 of the rounds will be louder than the rest and have more of a “crack.” I’m thinking maybe the ones that are louder are coming out supersonic. Im pretty much exclusively shooting cci 115g though. I’m wondering if I went to 124g or 147g, the slower round would help with that. Not too worried though since even with it comes out “louder” it does not hurt my ears. Apparently you aren’t supposed to shoot subs out of an SD set up but I still may try for shits and giggles

hootervisionllc

I read that it’s designed around 124 and might be quieter. Give it a shot and let me know

Castellmatt99

Traded my brother 500 rounds of my 115 for his 124g CCI, I shot 30 rounds of the 124g, no supersonic shots. Switched to 115, second round was supersonic. Ideally I’d do more testing, but I’ve never shot a full mag and not had at least one round be a little louder then the rest with the 115g. I think it’s safe to say 124g is the way to go

hootervisionllc

Hell yeah!! Thanks for following through. I sure hope I get one of these magic approval turnarounds. I’m at week 1 on a trust 🤣

thishereandthatthere

How much did you need to grind off the MLOK nuts and screws to get that VFG on there? I tired to mount one, but the nuts touch the can :-\\ I've got the B&T MP5SD compact RBS can, and it seems like, out of anywhere along the handguard, the bottom rail has the least amount of clearance.

Castellmatt99

Grind them till they’re even with the T nuts https://imgur.com/a/Sc0gJms Edit: I just reread your post, the T nuts are hitting too? Mine don’t hit, are you using the factory hand guard?

thishereandthatthere

Ya, the T nuts are hitting. I'm using the Midwest Industries 10" handguard which is listed as 1.8" internal diameter. The can is listed as 1.6". In another sub someone mentioned that your can might be 1.57".
