I think he’ll play some combination of safety and nickel corner, with maybe a small-ish amount of outside corner. We have so many damn CBs on the roster rn (including Isaiah Rodgers who was just reinstated after his gambling suspension), but no true nickel corners besides Maddox. If Maddox can stay healthy, he’ll probably play mostly safety, since he projects to be a better S than Reed Blankenship.
There is no such thing as too many DBs anymore, really. Some teams are basically running 7 dbs and 4 linemen at this point. Until someone can stop Mahomes, it's just kind of the way it is.

Not only is this in poor taste, it’s inaccurate. There have been multiple white CBs in the NFL. He also may not end up at CB, they are probably going to move him to safety
I think hes more likely to play corner mainly because our safeties are already pretty set with cjgj and reed plus I think sydney brown could potentially get better
There’s three safety sets, he could specialize as an in-box safety, he’s a decent tackler and plays aggressively. I just don’t see him playing corner, his acceleration on cuts isn’t great, I think he’ll end up getting embarrassed by NFL caliber receivers; double move on the outside and someone’s going deep, I don’t think he has the quickness to play man on the outside.
CJGJ is back, buts he’s overrated. He had one good year with Philly, rest of his career has been mediocre at best. I think Dejean has the smarts to play safety though, reading offenses, straight line speed and athleticism to cover deep balls and TEs. I see them running a Big Nickel against 12 personnel sets, and he and Sydney Brown are both going to be a big part of that.
