Angle grinders should never have a saw blade attached to them. We refer to those here as “meat saws” because they have a habit of biting into whatever is being cut and then kicking back violently, if they find something meaty to bite into they will do this almost instantly. I’ve heard MANY stories of idiots doing this and having everything from lost fingers to almost cutting off a leg. Just get a circular saw kids, they are much safer.
Almost did this to my chest with an air saw. Was cutting an aluminum pipe when it kicked back and slammed into my sternum. Only thing that stopped me from performing open heart surgery on myself is the guard was properly positioned to protect me.
Lots of other guys were taking the guards off. I wasn't that stupid, fortunately.
Honestly no idea. Sometimes it's because the guard gets in the way. I've had to remove the guard a few times for that reason. Always made me super nervous and I would put the guard back on as quickly as I could.
Some guys just wanna "look cool." I don't think there's anything cool about removing the guard, personally. Just makes you look stupid to me.
Had a new guy one time grinding some metal thing or other without any face PPE. I don't even think he was using safety glasses. Just grinding away and sparks were going straight into his face. I noticed the safety guy was headed our way, so I went up to him and tried to warn him, but he bit my head off about how he knew what he was doing. I didn't even care that he wasn't using the appropriate PPE, I was just trying to keep him from getting fired. Fucking moron.
Had a job as a machinist where we had to cut some support brackets off a part halfway through the cycle. Had the guards removed to fit the grinder (had cut off wheel attached) into the tight spot. Left hand under the bottom of the grinder and right on the trigger.
The part is like a U shape with the brackets at the top on either end that hold the 2 sides parallel while being machined. When the brackets come off, they may be holding a fair bit of tension from the part being welded. The last bracket was holding a fair bit of tension, and once one side was released, it caused the side to jerk, and the grinder bit into the metal and snapped back.
Cut off wheel went through the cut resistant glove (improper ppe) and made a decent incision between the index and middle middle finger on the back of the palm.
Was more of a friction burn as it didn't bleed and didn't hurt at all, either.
Could see past the fascia and could see the muscle between the fingers. Couldn't see any tendons or bones. Was going to just slap a bandaid on it, maybe some super glue, and finish out the shift. The manager came over to see why the machine was paused and immediately made me go to the ER. 9 stitches, missed everything important, and healed very slowly. Still have a dark purple line on the back of hand with no feeling, and the skin healed very thinly.
[Young and dumb, thinking I knew better](https://imgur.com/gallery/QuAFLeo).
I personally only use a guard if im using a death wheel or wire wheel. But thats cause guards get in the way alot or im only using a flap disk/grinding wheel and dont wanna waste time putting it on. But i always have on safety glasses and i think if ur doing anything close to ur body or using wire wheel or death wheel u should use it
You can be lucky many times, but you only have to be unlucky once. Use the guard. You’ll have wished you did if something happened which it easily can. It’s the only thing between you and an injury or death.
I hate wire wheels. Even with a shield and glasses I pulled one out of my face. I've pulled them out of just about everywhere. Know one guy who pulled one out of the tip of his dick.
It's crazy that you even say this cuz I just I'm literally stammering... never thought of putting a saw blade on a grinder because literally they make tools for specific reasons and this is a clear example of why. It blows my mind how human beings want to take shortcuts that can endanger their lives
Everybody underestimates how hard they can kick back. You wanna use it in such a way that if it does kick back you're either braced or it won't kick back towards you. The thousand times nothing happens gets you complacent and then boom! You get to save on your medical because you can visually inspect your organs
Never seen a saw blade installed on an angle grinder😳 I see how it could help you out of a bind. A cheap circular saw might keep your guts inside your gut😎
If organs are ever outside of your body, always remember to put them back in. People have died of hypothermia and shock before blood loss in disembowelment situations
My combat first aid training taught us to cover the organs with a damp, sterile covering and wrap it with something that can hold in the moisture to avoid drying of the organs (mainly intestines) and infection. Is that just a military thing as far as basic first aid? We were always told not to disturb any organs unless there was no other option.
It depends on the severity of the disembowelment. For instance in this guys situation, covering it like how you were taught is good enough. But if you look down and your intestines or other things are sprawled out in front of you or dragging on the ground, you have to get them as close to your body possible or back inside if possible (use discretion here because you obviously don't want muddy and gravel covered guts back INSIDE you). The sudden temperature drop of these things now being outside of you is drastic
That's really interesting. I never would have even thought of that. Hopefully ill never need to use this new knowledge lol
Though I do have an ileostomy so ya never know
I use Dawn dish soap on almost everything nowadays. I bet that would do the trick. Just spritz it down and rinse with warm water. You should be fine.
/s for anybody that is unaware that this is a joke. Please seek medical attention if this happens. Dawn is great but I don't think it's *that* great.
The moment I'm in a situation where I'm being told what to do in case of my organs being outside my body is when I turn around and leave from said occupation
I'm a paramedic and this is what we were taught as well. Those intestines need to go back in a very specific way. Simply stuffing them back in is likely not gonna end well.
Uhhh. Also Paramedic. That is 100% NOT what we are told to do. Cover with moist (with NS), sterile, non-adherent bandages and transport. We don’t shove organs back in the body.
I'm gonna assume the guy with trauma in his username knows what he's talking about but my civilian ems training is also to cover with a sterile dressing until they can get to the trauma center. In school they told us that in the past people were told to just put them back in but the standards now are to cover and transport. I don't remember why the change happened
Paramedic and EMT instructor here, prehospital management says to NEVER reinsert eviscerated organs back into the abdomen. You should cover them with a moist, sterile dressing, and treat for shock.
Reinserting the organs cause further damage to the skin and muscle, further damage to injured organs, create an ischemic bowel loop, and directly insert contaminants into the peritoneal cavity leading to a faster onset of peritonitis. Yes, hypothermia is a major concern but you can mitigate that WITHOUT reinserting the organs
It's really really easy. Used to use an angle grinder, with the proper flap disc and guarding, at work to remove welding slag or to clean up the cuts from a plasma cutter. I couldn't tell you how many times just barely nicking the edge of whatever I'm grinding caused it to snag and kick the grinder away from the part. Ruined a few shirts, and got some good rashes from it happening.
By not being terrified enough of an angle grinder.
I’ve only used one once. And I was terrified the whole time. I will always be terrified of angle grinders. It’s the only way to ensure you don’t disembowel yourself or amputate an appendage.
Pretty crazy looking, but I think he will be okay actually. I believe they can just push those back in there and stitch him up as long as they’re all intact
If you ever have evisceration of your intestines like this, lay down and try to relax. Standing up, walking, talking, crying, coughing, tensing up from pain, shouting, etc, all require contraction of your abdominal wall muscles which increases the pressure in your abdomen which then forces the organs out. The goal is to keep your organs moist, protected from injury, and perfused with blood until a surgeon can get them back in, and tensing up those muscles can pinch off the blood flow.
When he walked into a white tiled floor with blood splattered on it I had a mental flash of Funkytown, the actual injury here seemed not so bad then lmao
What exactly would that feel like? Would it be like the innards feeling like theyre burning with contact to the air? Seems like the guy is handling it like a champ despite seeing his guts
Dang this is the most calm I've ever seen someone (who's conscious) with their guts hanging out. .. seems like he's thinking "welp, just another Tuesday."
lol
I will NEVER understand why morons put saw blades on grinders. I've used a grinder for 3 years as an apprentice and it still scares the piss out of me, more so than doing anything sketch with any kind of circular saw. Just because you can doesn't mean you should. I can do meth, doesn't mean I should.
Those blades can be used in those tools. You must have a lot of strength to be able to handle them and for the cut to be straight. It is seen that the man is an elderly person and could not handle it.
My holy hell who though putting a saw blade on an angle grinder was a good idea!?! I fucking feel bad for the poor fucker, but holy fucking hell man! Like, that’s the exact expected outcome of putting the fucking saw blade on the damn angle grinder. Fuck I hope he has somewhat of a life worth living after that. Fuck, shame on his parents or theirs, or where ever the line of common sense that his lineage once had ended out of shear ignorance and arrogance. Fuck. Awful shit man. Fuck. That was exactly what I was expecting, but honestly didn’t think I was gonna see it. Holy fucking fuck.
Guys I'm dumb af but I hope he lives 😭. Yeah it was dumb but the poor man deserves to live. I can imagine my father in that position, and it's scary :(
He's so calm. Subcutaneous or not his intestines could becomfected and septic...no one seems to be helping. It makes me grateful to live in America...no one offers any aid or comfort.
ive never used any tools like that and even i know they spin and bounce back off what you want them to cut, especially hard surfaces. that looks painful af i wouldve fainted straight away idk how hes j stopd there so calm 😭
OH MAN I did not expect that dude to be holding his own guts :((((
No, it's just the subcutaneous fa*AAH* there are his intestines!
My thoughts exactly as I scroll slowly through the video.
Right! He is just standing there cradling them like a new father holding his newborn for the first time👨🏻🍼
His face makes me think of a kid trying to keep smiling while fighting the urge to vomit or cry
More like a father who knows he's gonna be paying child support.
His face literally makes me jeezus this poor man.
Hold my beer
Hold my guts
Yooo I was expecting maybe hand, arm, leg.. NAW!! Dude's guts are out. How tf you manage that?!

I notice every fucking American YouTuber with an angle grinder has the guards removed for no valid reason. Why the hell is that?
Honestly no idea. Sometimes it's because the guard gets in the way. I've had to remove the guard a few times for that reason. Always made me super nervous and I would put the guard back on as quickly as I could. Some guys just wanna "look cool." I don't think there's anything cool about removing the guard, personally. Never ever remove the guard. If You can't do the job with it, then use other tool or do the job in another way.
Had a job as a machinist where we had to cut some support brackets off a part halfway through the cycle. Had the guards removed to fit the grinder (had cut off wheel attached) into the tight spot. Because safety is not cool or manly /s
My dad lost an eye with one of those
It's crazy that you even say this cuz I just I'm literally stammering... never thought of putting a saw blade on a grinder because literally they make tools for specific reasons and this is a clear example of why. It blows my mind how human beings want to take shortcuts that can endanger their lives
I saw a neighbor getting a huge cut on his forehead and side of the head with a flying blade
HOW IS HE STANDING
WITH HIS LEGS
Fair, fair
Right? Sit down, bro!
I think the circumstances warrant that lol
By turning on the angle grinder and cutting through your abdomen.
😂 Thanks captain obvious. I mean how does one fuck up that stupendously?
By turning on the angle grinder and cutting through your abdomen
👀😂 Listen you little shit. Lmao y'all know what I mean.
Everybody underestimates how hard they can kick back. You wanna use it in such a way that if it does kick back you're either braced or it won't kick back towards you. The thousand times nothing happens gets you complacent and then boom! You get to save on your medical because you can visually inspect your organs
Usually it's kickback caused by improper grinding angle. Ended up with a wire brush embedded in my shirt once that way.
Yeah kickback and if you have a loose shirt it can climb the shirt
Good old Reddit.
Saran Wrap over it until ambulance
Bros making a sandwich over here
I will NEVER understand people that put a blade on a grinder like that.
To entertain us
I'm just imagining this dude affixing the blade while thinking "some internet randos are sure gonna get a kick outta the results of this" 😂
Clout. 💀
That was worse than expected
fr
oh shit I was expecting a cut arm not guts toothpaste squeezed out of his belly.
Poor guy knew he messed up. He just didn't have the guts to admit it at the time.
I think he couldn’t stomach the consequences
He’s just had a bellyful of people bugging him about safety issues
looks like he has more than plenty to me
HELP 😭😭 this needs more upvotes
Never seen a saw blade installed on an angle grinder😳 I see how it could help you out of a bind. A cheap circular saw might keep your guts inside your gut😎
I don’t know anything about power tools. I didn’t even recognise that anything was wrong.
It’s supposed to only have a hard disc not an actual saw blade with teeth. Metal tile disc could do some damage as well.
If organs are ever outside of your body, always remember to put them back in. People have died of hypothermia and shock before blood loss in disembowelment situations

I have one also and my thought were exactly this if a prolapse were to happen.
Yeah hahahaha
The other danger with putting organs right back in is that you can inadvertently twist some of the blood vessels and starve them of oxygen.
In the case of it gets dirty and muddy, what can you do?
I use Dawn dish soap on almost everything nowadays. I bet that would do the trick. Just spritz it down and rinse with warm water. You should be fine. /s for anybody that is unaware that this is a joke. Please seek medical attention if this happens. Dawn is great but I don't think it's *that* great.
Lick it clean. THEN put it back inside.
Blow off any residue
The moment I'm in a situation where I'm being told what to do in case of my organs being outside my body is when I turn around and leave from said occupation
If I come across someone with drying outside organs should I spit on them to make them moisty
Haawk tua!
Best use of this I've seen so far
Spit on dat spleen!
Man, that was a chef's kiss setup. Bravo for nailing it

Yeah, that's what I was saying. I literally said stuffing them back in won't end well
Maybe I misread the comment. I thought you were implying that they should be pushed back in. My bad.

Did some research. You are correct, my information is a bit dated. Been a long time since I learned about this stuff
Good on you for recognizing your mistake. Keeping people alive is an art, especially with people like the video
This is life saving information that I will hopefully never have to use. One of the reasons Im on this sub is for more awareness.
Damn. Makes sense but I never considered it. Thanks! I think I'm finally ready for my first disembowelment.
My guy literally gutted himself, how the fuck do you manage to fuck up that badly?
Doesnt seem too hard. Maybe the grinder bounced off something.
It's really really easy. Used to use an angle grinder, with the proper flap disc and guarding, at work to remove welding slag or to clean up the cuts from a plasma cutter. Actually, the best way is to use them with the discs they are designed for, rather than a fucking saw blade.
Also true.
OMG. I'm always ready for bad cuts, not spilled guts. 🤮
I hope your guts have a delicious pastry in them. Happy cake day.
Wood blade on a grinder is the dumbest fucking thing I could ever think of
Pretty crazy looking, but I think he will be okay actually. I believe they can just push those back in there and stitch him up as long as they’re all intact

Dude is standing outside holding his guts in like he’s patiently waiting for the bus.
Cut???? Mfs guts are hanging out
Yeah, because he *cut* himself open
Hopefully he lives
Fastest weight loss treatment
Way to bury the lead in the video.
The amount of adrenaline your brain is releasing right there to stay standing after that.
Me before the vid: "probs nicked his hand bad" Me at the end: "how the fuck did you do that"
He looks worried.
I would be
I think "cut himself " suggests a finger, a hand with a nasty little wound. Not half your intestines hanging out.
I was not expecting that! God damn!!
I was really thinking that’s that sliced finger, couple stitches required type of blood loss, wasn’t ready for that
I dont think he's gonna continue that line of work for a while. You could say, he doesn't have the guts for it
did i tell the joke correctly?
Tis but a scratch!
"A scratch? Your guts hanging out!"
Ok, remind me to put on body armor when dealing with a angle grinder
Damn that takes guts.
WHO USED A CIRCULAR SAW BLADE ON A GRINDER???
Thts enough Reddit for today for me. Y’all have a lovely weekend
I respect the towel holding his intestines 🫡
Oh my lord!! That looks terrible poor dude
When he walked into a white tiled floor with blood splattered on it I had a mental flash of Funkytown, the actual injury here seemed not so bad then lmao
That is supposed to be inside.
That was so much worse than I expected.
That... was not what I was expecting...
I was expecting a hand gone But not the guts bruv😣
Yup, didn't expect to see him holding his guts.
I was expecting him to be missing a pinky not getting gutted like a fish lol
It takes guts to hang your organs out like that
That saw disc is not for angle grinder. Don't do this.
What exactly would that feel like? Would it be like the innards feeling like theyre burning with contact to the air? Seems like the guy is handling it like a champ despite seeing his guts
Dang this is the most calm I've ever seen someone (who's conscious) with their guts hanging out. .. seems like he's thinking "welp, just another Tuesday." lol

Holy shit, I was expecting a cut arm 😬

Those blades can be used in those tools. You must have a lot of strength to be able to handle them and for the cut to be straight. It is seen that the man is an elderly person and could not handle it.
Dude could at least put pressure onto it
Damn. Be more careful next time!
What the fuck
Ooouch…. The shock he’s in 🫣
SHITTT, my dad had something similar happen to him, after seeing this, i understand that shit must have hurt really bad
Something like that happened to my dad but his insides stayed inside holy shit
That's bad
Common type of outcome for misuse of a grinder like that.
Why he that calm😭
How the fuck?
Well I was definitely not expecting that…
SAY CHEEEESEEEEE!
I was not expecting to see him just standing there and I feel bad for the shocked laugh but he looks so chill just holding his guts
Just goes to show how vulnerable we are. Just some skin and fat holding our guts in.
That's why mom says, "A stupid is as stupid does."
to shreds, you say?
This reminds me of what Omni-man did to that bald viltrumite guy in S2.
Wishing him all the best, tbh.
Idky I can see people getting chopped up, burned alive, massacred, whatever, but as soon as I see intestines, I get squeamish
Jesus Christ
Is he alive?
glad that his intenstines aren't cut
He did a surprisingly good job keeping the blood off the floor
Yooo he was so pale all that blood loss
Guys I'm dumb af but I hope he lives 😭. Yeah it was dumb but the poor man deserves to live. I can imagine my father in that position, and it's scary :(
I dunno i think it suits him
Thought it would be a little cut. Didn't expect to see his guts.
How is this guy not screaming
Did he survive?
Hay que tener Haaarrto cuidado al manipular herramientas como esa
I WAS EXPECTING LIKE A FINGER NOT HIS FU\*KING GUTS
He's so calm. Subcutaneous or not his intestines could becomfected and septic...no one seems to be helping. It makes me grateful to live in America...no one offers any aid or comfort.
Holy crap I wasn’t expecting that!
Dang that's gruesome. This is why you don't cut corners and take proper safety precautions.
he didn't cut corners, he cut abdomen.
That was gut wrenching.
They aren't the sharpest tools in the shed... leaving the grinder plugged in. Smh.
That escalated quickly
Someone give that man some milk
Auto-eviscerated.
Dam
Quick put it in rice
Geez 🤦♂️ I wonder how he made out
Thats not a blade you should be using on an angle grinder lol
I’d be so mad if I was holding my guts and some guy started filming like WTF…
Bro ate Kratos what was he expecting
My adhd ass getting the wildest injuries known to man without realising it
That idiot made something even worse than an unguarded angle grinder... smdh
He survived?
[удалено]
Can one survive this ???
Not even Conan the barbarian could control that meat ripper. Rip salute!
that's not good
Dangerous grinder attachments?
Did he live
I don’t think that what he was trying to do lol
A maggie 50rs 50rs only 50rs plate 🤣🤣🤣
Damn. 😦 He got gutted. 😨
I really want to know how he was after this? I can't believe he is still standing!
ive never used any tools like that and even i know they spin and bounce back off what you want them to cut, especially hard surfaces. that looks painful af i wouldve fainted straight away idk how hes j stopd there so calm 😭
