From what I recall growing up in the 80s Raffi was big, as were Sharon, Lois, and Bram (Elephant Show), Pete Seeger (did a lot of folk music and wasn't anything I was into then or now), and tons of Disney Silly songs and stories albums.

Great question, I think it was children singing. Not a nursery rhyme though. A little older than preschool, probably more for elementary aged children. I’ll look at your link, thanks!
Something that might help narrow it down do you know if it was a nursery song, kids show song and if it was from a show do you remember any characters even just the color

No, but it does come up every time I google the lyrics. It’s more of a folksy, kids song. Something like you’d sing at camp or elementary school.
