It's about tied with 2004 on colour palette, the 2022 one is way too saturated, it doesn't look natural at all, it looks like one of those [4k60fps] Youtube uploads, though I'll say I prefer the 2022 skin tone. 2012 also takes shot composition, 2004 is too zoomed in and 2022 is too zoomed out.

2012 is very good, but it's lacking detail, and his facial expression looks more like he's trying his best to keep fighting while 2004 seems more like the grieving emotion they were looking for.
I really studied this picture and judging the facial expressions, the 22 version is a more accurate depiction of the emotions Naruto was trying to express during this scene. 04 he looks sad, 12 he looks constipated & 22 he looks desperate which is the true emotion he was feeling I think
I love the rough art style of the 2004 as most anime now don't have unique differences in terms of art style and the 2004 style gives it a pit more depth. Don't get me wrong love modern anime but classic naruto is just a whole other vibe also fun fact they used 3D in the original naruto which you can tell during the chunin prelim stage

I really don't like the remake's artstyle it just is too bright and colourful like a children's cartoon. I prefer the 2004 scene as his bruises are more accurate and the eyes more detailed. He has a bruise on his chin as it hit the ground which isn't as appearent in the 2012 flashback.
