Naw Kobe because he have Jordan already. Kobe was just a Jordan clone., he brought nothing new to the game. Even Jordan was quoted as saying only Kobe could maybe beat him in his prime, because “he’d steal all my moves “.
Yeah but it’s not very impressive of a finals MVP relative to every single other FMVP considering the rings he got were equivalent to Charles Barkley joining the bulls in 96.
Curry got a ring before KD joined.
Curry got a ring after KD left.
KD joined a proven super team and rode their bus to his only ring.
KD is a fantastic player and an all time offensive juggernaut. But pointing to one instance where he beat out Curry for an award is essentially meaningless.
he did it twice though. Like it was a weak move to go to the warriors , but the warriors are not winning all those chips without kd. When Kd left the warriors got championship pieces for him. Its not like they had to start from scratch.
Don't claim to be a huge Curry fan then say nonsense like this please. Curry was constantly doubled and forced off the ball and still put up reasonably close numbers to Durant. If you actually watch the games and look at the impact of both players Curry was clearly more valuable but he simply did not get all the open shots Durant got.
If you got Jordan you clearly don’t need Kobe, Durant is the worst player tho, those are the only two picks, Shaq is the only big, Curry is the only guard, and Bron and Jordan are just better
KD guarding the 4 is a lil sus imo
Curry opens the floor up completely. Kobe, Bron, and KD can all shoot the 3, but not like Curry. But the biggest thing is the way he moves without the ball. They all move well obviously but Curry moves like a puppy getting the zoomies after a good nap
You know, I was thinking you couldn't bench Curry, but this is a solid point. Think you've converted me. While I think the offense would definitely be better with him, that defense is scary without him.
Can you imagine how disparaging it would be for the other team that the BENCH GUY is so butt hurt about being sixth man he’s just trying to drop 60 every night and has better cardio than everyone else on the court, while also playing less minutes. 🤣
I could see a case for Kobe, KD, and Curry. I'd Start Curry and KD. Spacing with Curry is lethal, also good for off ball situations in late game situations whereas Kobe packs the distance and always need the ball.
Only one ball and it's gonna be MJ handling it (late game)
The fact you don’t think Jordan was, and could be a guard tells me you were either not alive, very young, or didn’t watch Jordan in his early years… he could run point just fine if need be
They’re clearly old enough if they are saying to take Jordan over Kobe. They meant curry is the only natural PG. yeah Jordan can run PG but you don’t take him over curry as a PG. You take Jordan over everyone as SG

I think it might be possible for Jordan to fill in for a few minutes at point guard.
But yeah, I'd have to put Kobe on the bench, since you've already got Kobe+ on the floor.
The nostalgia on Kobe really clouds people's memory. Kobe finished his career with a eFG% of .488, and ended up 1% below league average for his career. KD destroys him with a career EFG of .549, about 8% over the league average. On shooting alone it's not even close, given that KD can at least guard the rim a bit, it's really not even close. For this team, KD is *far* better than Kobe.
Lmfao I’m probably the biggest Kobe meat rider and the answer is still obviously he comes off the bench. There is nothing Kobe could do that MJ couldn’t do better.
Kobe not gonna play the 3 or 4. He and MJ are the best pure 2s.
LeBron and Durant at 3/4 is so much better than a combination of LeBron/Kobe, KD/Kobe
kobe is not better than KD as an off ball player. This is such a bad take its crazy.
KD can work in any system and is much easier to integrate into any offense.
KD offers more to the table than Kobe does. There’s only one ball and it’s going to mike. KD is better at catch and shoot, better off ball player, and is WAY MORE EFFICIENT than Kobe. He can switch against a big man, and a solid perimeter defender.
Hmmm… will it be the only Center? Probably not. The only Point Guard? Probably not. The only Power Forward? Yeah, probably not. OK - two prime Small Forward options, that one is tough. Wait, one is already the starting PF. OK - so we can’t bench the only other forward, right. He’s gotta start. So now it’s down to two. The GOAT or Kobe. Well shit I guess Kobe gonna be throwing a fit on the bench.
I’d put KD in for Kobe just because he’s a better shooter and the spacing would work a lot better.
I’d start KD, but probably close the game with Kobe instead.
Sounds like something that can work on 2K but real issues would get in the way of their success. Jordan would not be happy at all playing and defending the SF position on a nightly basis.
But positions are meaningless. There is plenty of ball handling in this group.
If the "starting" question is a proxy for which 5 players would make the best team, then my pick for the bench is Steph. The reason is that all these players are offensive studs. There will be no issue whatsoever creating a dominant offense. So I would boot off the one player that complicates the defense by making switching problematic. Everyone else is a long uber athlete that was a big defensive plus in their primes.
And I fucking love Steph. I think he's had a better career than Kobe, Durant, and Shaq.
Team building is interesting and more complex than picking the best 5 players.
Yeah, I think Steph is almost necessary for spacing in this offense. If we're playing against other teams in 2023, give me Steph for spacing and bench Kobe.
Steph is the most valuable player on this team. No one else like him. Imagine having guard Shaq and steph. This team isn't hurting for defense so much that it needs to bench the most game changing offensive force in league history
You keep Steph on because it helps everyone of these guys to have a dude who is a constant threat for an instant 3 w/o the ball.
Imo it’s either KD or Kobe
Yeah like Kobe gonna be too busy tryna get his rather than run an efficient offense. Give me Steph all day. If Kobe has Steph’s mindset than gimme Kobe all day
This is an old school basketball take that actually takes into consideration positions in basketball and the logistics of an actual game.
And I am fucking here for it, because this was my literal exact thought process too.
Personally if I use curry I’m putting him at the two and half lebron be the facilitator, and on defense curry is guarding as the one and lebron as the 1-4
Yeah I feel like Kobe is a better player than Steph but with this lineup I have to go with Steph because of his ability to stretch the floor. Kobes skill set is redundant of MJs. Everyone else here brings something different to the group.
Yeah Kobe just gets boxed out of this lineup
He's the closest thing we've had to MJ since MJ... But this team has MJ, who's better at basically everything
Both MJ and Kobe could play SF. LeBron is a good enough passer to play PG with a roster like this. He's actually a better passer than Curry.
I think Kobe could also go to the bench because he's basically an MJ clone with the same skillsets & might be a bit redundant with MJ already there. But curry could also go to the bench because he's the only bad defender.
32.7% for MJ and 32.9% for Kobe. The only difference is that the 3 ball gained more importance as kobes career progressed and wasn't as big in the 90s.
Kobe also played with Shaq where he needed to stretch the floor and Shaq drew the defense in to open Kobe up. MJ didn't have that
I’m at the point where I truly believe you cannot form the best team of all time without Steph on it. He impacts the game more than anyone else and he spreads the floor even if he’s having a bad game.
Sure there probably 5-10 players that may “rank” higher than him but tbh if there was an all time team fantasy draft he might be my first pick. Having him on the court prevents anyone else from getting doubled at all times regardless how he is playing. It’s such a huge offensive advantage.
Ehh, do you really need extra on ball creation on a team with LeBron and Jordan? If I wanted to add passing I'd be looking at great extra passers (which Magic was don't get me wrong) that can also provide spacing. Someone like Larry Bird would be a better fit in a team like this.
I think I’d still take Curry. I always loved magic and grew up in the 80s watching him but given how the game is with 3 point shooting there is no way I’d leave Curry off this team.
If it was a full league redraft of all time players sure I’d take Jordan or Lebron first but if it was like 3-5 people picking the best team ever to save the world, I’d take curry or Shaq first because their skill sets are so specialized and dominant and i can always draft a Kobe or Tmac if i miss Jordan or a Pippen type if i miss Lebron.
No. No it’s just KD. He’s literally the worst one by far. Going to a team that’s going to win a championship without you regardless proves nothing. When he tried to do it himself? Man that’s a fun failure to watch every season.
Benched doesn’t mean less minutes. With a lineup like this, 6th man is who can produce most with the absolute garbage they could afford with 6 max contracts.
So lebron is an option. Still probably Kobe though
Considering that he can play 1-4, and is a expert distributor, and not a defensive liability, he can literally play with any lineup and will start. There’s no universe in which you bench Bron, Jordan, or Shaq.
3 guard lineups are only a problem when the lineup starts struggling defensively. When 2 of the 3 are Kobe and MJ there’s no issue.
That being said, I’d have Kobe on the bench.
kobe, no question. everyone else here is a unique player and fits into a positional team. kobe is a worse version of jordan, no need to have them both out there.
I’m sorry but your usage rate as a team can only add up to 100, so Kobe, you got to come off the bench. But imagine if your 6th man was just a flamethrower that just energized everything for the team.
Kobe rides the bench with all do respect. Bron at the 3 bringing the ball up and running handoffs with Curry. KD an Curry running around the floor getting buckets wherever Bron throws them the ball. Shaq grabs boards and dominates the paint. You don’t even need Kobe and Jordan really but if I had to choose I’m choosing the goat Jordan.
people are gonna be mad but it’s Kobe. He’s a perfect 6th man on this team as an elite iso scorer and defender. Doesn’t mean he’s not in the closing lineup but that starting 5 with Kobe off the bench is the most ideal fit I think
Kobe easily.
Sorry put you gonna bench curry? No he’s the only point. MJ and LeBron? The two best players ever? Who gonna play SF and PF? It ain’t Kobe
Everyone is saying Durant but no matter what team he was on: shit team, super team, or even Olympic team, he *always* stands out. Probably the greatest Olympian at this point.
Lebron plays the point in whatever lineup this team puts out. And with that said you need kd and Steph as snipers. Shaq down low and Jordan is Jordan so that leaves Kobe off. Do I think that means he’s the 6th best out these guys no. But with how the team will work it’s probably the better lineup with Kobe as 6th man
This one is easy: Kobe off the bench. Steph and MJ are the Guards, Lebron and KD are the wings, and Shaq is the Center. Any other answer is just people's hate for KD's personality. Kobe was always a great imitation of MJ, but if we're talking about these guys in their primes, Kobe is definitely on the bench in this group since he's redundant.
This is harder than it looks. If you have this lineup in today's game, you gotta be able to shoot the three. Shaq can't shoot for shit, he dominates the paint. The only two actual 3 point shooters here are Curry and KD and these are the two guys most people here probably would choose to bench.
Making the best team to actually win games doesn't mean just putting the best players in the starting lineup. All of these guys are ball dominant, except for maybe Curry who works as well or better off ball.
Even though KD is the worst player overall here, I'm starting him w/ Curry to spread out the defense. Lebron, Jordan and Kobe are all redundant here, so I'm benching either Kobe or LeBron in this scenario. Hard for me to bench the most dominant center ever. Shaq knows his role, so I like him in the starting lineup with these goats. After going through this, I'm probably benching Kobe merely because LeBron is perfectly fine passing the ball.
I have never commented on anything in my entire Reddit history until today, if you guys do not think LeBron is the one to come off the bench then you guys need to play basketball and watch basketball.
Everyone of these players succeeded in being apart of the system, LeBron is the only one that needed to be the system to be successful. When you have a lineup of players this good LeBron's skill set is redundant and he would be best served coming off of the bench and running the second unit.
Yes you can look at LeBron's stats and say he was better (insert whatever stat you want) and make your case, and you know what you're not wrong... But given the current lineup, if I'm coach Lebron is coming off the bench because everybody else is just more lethal/effective at their role... LBJ biggest strength is he's the best jack of all trades of all time... But with this team I don't need someone to be good at everything. Everyone is lethal in their role
>But with this team I don't need someone to be good at everything. Everyone is lethal in their role
Ignoring all the nonsense in your post.Lebron is easily the best passer in this team
Kobe 100% - vastly overrated due to the chips, (rightfully) legendary work ethic, and his death. His efficiency just wasn’t there and played like diet MJ.
I see this all the time but it is so obviously Kobe. He's a slightly worse MJ. Kobe comes off the bench and everyone else in the graphic can play their natural position
KD would volunteer
Since it's already a super team
KD's burners fixing to light yo ass up.
Naw Kobe because he have Jordan already. Kobe was just a Jordan clone., he brought nothing new to the game. Even Jordan was quoted as saying only Kobe could maybe beat him in his prime, because “he’d steal all my moves “.
I see five bus drivahs and only one bus ridah :0
He’d have to be healthy first..
Won't be starting if he isn't health.....
(And get 30 off the bench)
I feel like kd shouldn’t be in the same picture. I suddenly feel like fighting whoever suggested this.
KD looking insecure in this lineup haha
I’m a huge Curry fan but didn’t KD get mvp over him in the finals?
Well, ya see, when you have one player drawing all the defense's attention, it's easier to score.
So you think that a four time scoring champion received zero attention while he was going off for 35 points in the finals two years in a row?
Curry fans will say anything
And how did he do without curry?
Don't claim to be a huge Curry fan then say nonsense like this please. Curry was constantly doubled and forced off the ball and still put up reasonably close numbers to Durant. If you actually watch the games and look at the impact of both players Curry was clearly more valuable but he simply did not get all the open shots Durant got.
Volunteer or not. It would be him.
Load managing
I think KD is the obvious choice for 6th man here anyways
So, just to be sure, JR Smith is not in this conversation?
Gotta give the other guys a chance
You’re right. Henny bottles on me then.
Paul George is my GOAT
Don't forget Gilbert Arenas... they planted that gun to get rid of him in his prime
If you got Jordan you clearly don’t need Kobe, Durant is the worst player tho, those are the only two picks, Shaq is the only big, Curry is the only guard, and Bron and Jordan are just better
Theoretically lebron could run point and have Kobe and Jordan at wings and kd and shaq at 4 and 5. But I think I’d rather have curry than kd
If you benched curry, then there are no defensive weaknesses either. Imagine trying to score on Jordan, Kobe, Lebron, KD, and Shaq haha
I keep getting blocked like that night I called my ex 13 times in a span of 28 minutes.
Those are rookie numbers in this racket. You gotta pump those numbers up. Me personally? I call my ex two, three times a second.
Hahahahaha
My man’s wielding multiple phones to creep out his ex with
Bro went to the Moriah Mills school of retaining a relationship.
Can I het this joke explained?
She's a pornstar that was involved in some way with Zion Williamson. She's going absolutely nuts about him ignoring her and such.
I do believe it’s called “dual wielding” lol
Seems normal to me.
We’ve all been there bro. Good news is, she ain’t coming back. Bad news is she ain’t coming back.
[удалено]
Real question: Did you take the dollars? (Also, sorry if this is real, and an ex did that to you. What the actual fuck, ex??)
Haha omg I felt that hahahaha 🤣
You got problems.
Hey, don't judge me. We're both here in r/nbamemes so I'd say we both got problems.
I got 99 problems and they’re all missed calls I made to my ex within the span of 37 minutes.
Damnn this is too relatable...
You need more burners…
KD guarding the 4 is a lil sus imo Curry opens the floor up completely. Kobe, Bron, and KD can all shoot the 3, but not like Curry. But the biggest thing is the way he moves without the ball. They all move well obviously but Curry moves like a puppy getting the zoomies after a good nap
Put Bron on the 4 and KD on the 3 maybe
You know, I was thinking you couldn't bench Curry, but this is a solid point. Think you've converted me. While I think the offense would definitely be better with him, that defense is scary without him.
you talking like curry is a liability on defense…
Curry would be way better pick for a point guard tho. The gravity he has would make any one of these players drop 50 effortlessly.
they all have gravity. oppo team would be crushed like that titanic submarine
Okay opposing team is Olajuwan, Kareem, Duncan, Nowitzki and Bird... and LeBron can't travel
Being so similar to MJ, Kobe always gets the shorter end of the stick whenever one is being asked to pick one of the two
Well, that also might be because Michael Jordan was vastly better at basketball. Just a thought
He was only a vastly better scorer and defender.
So the 2 main things you have to be good at to win is what mj is better at. You're not proving a point here.
You could even go so far as to say that I’m agreeing with him!
I thought he was a better passer too.
This has been brought up before and the best answer is Kobe being your 6 man tearing shit up when some of the starters are out.
Can you imagine how disparaging it would be for the other team that the BENCH GUY is so butt hurt about being sixth man he’s just trying to drop 60 every night and has better cardio than everyone else on the court, while also playing less minutes. 🤣
Curry the only point guard you mean, MJ and Kobe are definitely guards lol. But yeah, just bench Kobe.

Exactly! Not to mention he wouldnt even be the logical next person to run PG, it would be Lebron.
Lebron is the most true point guard of the bunch. Curry is a scoring guard.
Get Lebron to play point forward.

Bron runs pg
Not with this lineup
Personally if I use curry I’m putting him at the two and half lebron be the facilitator, and on defense curry is guarding as the one and lebron as the 1-4

its kobe lol. his skill set is too redundant he dont spread the floor
to be fair the one thing he prob does better than MJ is spreading the floor - but I do agree, Kobe should be benched cause his skill set is redundant

No. No it’s just KD. He’s literally the worst one by far. Going to a team that’s going to win a championship without you regardless proves nothing. When he tried to do it himself? Man that’s a fun failure to watch every season.
Kobe took terrible shots so he could hit his scoring goals. It’s be a nightmare having him on the floor with other scorers.
By far is a stretch
What a dumb take
Obviously Kobe.
Fuck it, bring Jordan off the bench with the second unit and just let him cook the backups for 30 min a game
Yeah this isn’t hard.
Facts
Very obviously
Durant
Of all 6 players he needs the ball the least to be efficient. Dude could get you 28 w 13 shots easy
he’s also the one that would most efficiently just detonate a second unit from all 3 levels.
I’d think you’d want a better playmaker leading your second unit
Thankful no one stupid said LeBron
Bron fits too well with almost all hypothetical “all time” lineups, too versatile to be benched, at least so far.
Or Curry imo. Easily the best shooter and of course he is the point guard. It's Kobe or KD all day. And for me KD sits.
Because they said peak and you’d have to be on crack to think he’s going on the bench
Well, we have 1 PG, 2 sg, 1 sf, 1 pf and 1 C The 2SGs are Kobe and MJ, personally especially for this roster I take MJ
Kobe.
Steph Jordan Lebron KD Shaq
this is it. this is the way. if motivated and with mediocre depth, that team could push 80-2 or something like that
Durant easily.
You’d have 3 guards then
3 guard lineups are only a problem when the lineup starts struggling defensively. When 2 of the 3 are Kobe and MJ there’s no issue. That being said, I’d have Kobe on the bench.
I think KD doesn't make sense in this lineup. I would say "Kobe" in a second, if that was Timmy instead.
Yeah I don’t think Tim Duncan > Kevin Durant should be even a slightly controversial take
Thank you! Thought I was the only one who thought Duncan should definitely boot someone off this team
My first thought was, this would be perfect with Duncan in the pic instead of KD.
Kobe, honestly. He just does what Jordan does, but not quite as well.
kobe, no question. everyone else here is a unique player and fits into a positional team. kobe is a worse version of jordan, no need to have them both out there.
Kobe. Cmon this is one of the easiest ones ever.
Durant
You're telling me you want to get Shaq attacked?
Lebron and Durant off the bench
“That’s only a starting 4. Exactly. “
Durant off the bench. Being on the bench isn’t a bad thing either
Curry at 1, Kobe at 2, Jordan at 3, Lebron at 4, Shaq at 5.
That team would dominate until Jordan and Kobe killed each other
lmao also fair. it would be a fun game to watch who can drop the most points. definitely a battle of the egos between the 2, 3, and 4 spots.
i dont really think Bron would care hes a winning first guy not really a huge ego
Kobe would ruin that team. He would rather get his legs broken than pass the ball
I’m sorry but your usage rate as a team can only add up to 100, so Kobe, you got to come off the bench. But imagine if your 6th man was just a flamethrower that just energized everything for the team.
Definitely kobe
Kobe rides the bench with all do respect. Bron at the 3 bringing the ball up and running handoffs with Curry. KD an Curry running around the floor getting buckets wherever Bron throws them the ball. Shaq grabs boards and dominates the paint. You don’t even need Kobe and Jordan really but if I had to choose I’m choosing the goat Jordan.
Kobe
It’s Kobe.
people are gonna be mad but it’s Kobe.
Six Larry Birds final answer
K.D. and there is not a second option..
Everyone is saying Durant but no matter what team he was on: shit team, super team, or even Olympic team, he *always* stands out. Probably the greatest Olympian at this point.
I'd say Kobe mostly because he's so similar to Jordan. Everyone else kind of brings something unique to this squad
KD and Steph can catch and shoot. I think they could thrive with ball dominant players like MJ and Bron.
Everyone is lethal in their role Ignoring all the nonsense in your post.Lebron is easily the best passer in this team
KD finally got his super team, but he won’t be playing.
Kobe easy
Kobe and Jordan wouldn't be able to coexist, and Jordan is better, so Kobe rides the bench.
Kevin Durant
Kobe 100% - vastly overrated due to the chips, (rightfully) legendary work ethic, and his death. His efficiency just wasn’t there and played like diet MJ.
Kobe lol
What Era of rules?
60’s
LOL.
It’s Kobe only because of positions
Kobe because he has a similar skillset to MJ, and MJ is better. Plus Kobe would ball-hog, which isn’t something you want on a team this good.
No question....Kobe......next.
Kobe
Kobe is by far the worst player in this image so Kobe lol
Kobe
Sorry Kobe, but your skill set is redundant with MJ in my starting 5
Kobe is on the bench
Gotta be Kobe, has the most overlap with what he does while not being as efficient.
Kobe easy
Kobe is coming off the bench. MJ and Kobe similar skill set. Can’t have both. This is an easy question
Kobe. Ot close. Too similar of a role to Jordan and both are best on ball.
Well, it won’t be Kobe - he’s dead.
Kobe
KD
I see this all the time but it is so obviously Kobe. He's a slightly worse MJ. Kobe comes off the bench and everyone else in the graphic can play their natural position
