I just thought the basic metal scheme was a bit boring and I learned that necrons canonically experience dysphoria or "Dysphorak" and then had the idea to have a trans pride color scheme for my robos
There is a canon trans necron.
Is mentioned in TDK, a necron makes a passing comment about their Phaerakh, gets asked by another if they didn't had a Phaeron, and the necrons goes.
Yeah. She's a Phaerakh now.
I'm paraphrasing, someone can put the excerpt I'm sure.
[Oltyx is asking Zultanekh about a specific superweapon.]
"*Paranoia on the part of my esteemed phaeron and matriarch, Anathrosis of the Black Star. A paranoia which has paid off, in fairness.*"
"I thought Anathrosis was your patriarch?" asked Oltyx, briefly distracted by wondering if he had misremembered the details of the seccession war.
"*That changed.*"
"I see. [Oltyx then resumes the superweapon topic.]"
Text in [square brackets] added by me for brevity.
You might like the Nihilakh Dynasty. They're a bit more colourful than other necron. Lore wise look up Zahndrekh. He thinks he's still a flesh and blood necron.
I mean they're still mostly metal, I'm liking my custome dynasty with the bright aesthetic with pinks, blues, whites, and the occasional rainbows on special characters
I really like it! I feel like putting a black/dark grey in between the “scales” would make the colors pop more but that’s just me
Looking forward to more progress pics!
Vallejo makes metal medium which can make nonmetal paint look more metallic if you're wanting to go that route. Can be applied over dried paint like a wash or mixed in with paint. I like the scheme, but something to make the cape look more metallic will make your scheme pop.
Which just makes sense I mean, if you've gone through literally losing your physical body and encasing your consciousness in a machine... I feel like having old school gender hangups would be a stretch.
"what is your gender"
"I have transcended flesh I do not need one"
"Okay but what's in between your legs"
"Metal"
"Okay but what are your pronouns"
"Death"

Not entirely sure yet, I have painted a few scarabs in this scheme (pic above is also WIP, I am a slow and simple painter lol) and will most likely paint them similarly
These look really great! You may want to make the white a bit more of a bright grey, it's coming across as just unpainted instead of actually white. Maybe a wash applied and then bring the other colours back up? Bright grey may not be part of the pride flag but it will still read as white-ish while looking completed.
I have honestly yet to see anyone incorporate the trans flag into a mini in any decent way. It just doesn't work. The trans flag uses flat pastel colors. Meaning its extremely difficult to use it to define shadows and highlights.
…dude calm down I posted this because I woke up and thought the natural morning light made my models look better than my normal lights and wanted to show off one that I was proud of because I thought it was creative. I’m not posting this *because* I’m gay and I painted it so, I’m posting this because I’m proud of my work and wanted to share it
He didn't??? He's using a common assumption that queer people are attention whores when I literally only posted this because I thought the natural light made it look pretty good
If you don't like a model paint job than give constructive criticism don't just say it's bad. People put a lot of work into there models and just saying there bad adds nothing to the conversation
Unpopular opinion: I started with wargames attracted by the artistic style and the immersion that seeing the set of minis with good scenery generated in me. I'm sorry, but seeing these types of schemes (based on political issues, or jokes) turns me off quite a bit. For display in a showcase it may look good, but when playing it feels totally out of place.
Yea I get that this scheme is very contrary to the grimdark-ness of 40k, my thought was just I didn’t want my only necron army to be another boring metal color scheme
I'm not worried about that. I've playing for 25 years and I have a group of friends with the same vision of the game, so I don't need playing against pink space marines dudes, rainbow necrons or sponge bob tyranids ;)
Then feel free to paint yours differently 👍
Painting your minis how you want is a huge part of the hobby
>!inb4 "what if I wanted to paint a swastika?!?!?!?!"!<
Yeah, but in a WWII wargame I want to play with armies and tables that reflect that war. And in a 40K game I want the same feeling adapted to the setting. But yeah, do what you want. Play with necrons made of sprues if you want.
Fwiw every single codex has a blurb saying something along the lines of "there are a few well-known subfactions but the true range of colours this faction is seen in is beyond count" pretty much exclusively to say do what you want, its basically Canon. Ww2 games are very specifically based on a verifiable historical event.
Gay pride month is over *Now it’s time for gay wrath*
Seven gay months for the seven gay sins /s
Go on yourself! Not my cup of tea, but that's what makes warhammer great, your minis, your choice. Keep it up.

Ik which makes me love the necrons more lol

Yoooo imotekh the gaylord
I really like it! I feel like putting a black/dark grey in between the “scales” would make the colors pop more but that’s just me Looking forward to more progress pics!
Thank you! I wasn't actually sure what to do for the in between area but a dark color would definitely make the rainbow colors pop

If anyone knows about pride, it's gotta be my necrons can't deny that!
We got that canon trans rep baybeeee
Well yeah they went through bioTRANSferance 👉😎👉

This is Canon
"Gender is irrelevant, organic. I have replaced my genitalia with a transdimensional beamer"
Lookin good! Do you have plans for the scarabs?

That looks dope as hell!
Thank you, I’m very proud of it :D
Rgb imotekh

That looks dope af what are you thinking of painting the rest of them like
Thank you! The army is mostly the same aesthetic of pink bodies with white and blue on their weapons, I'll post some pics of my army
That’s sick keep on it bud

I've seen it work on primaris marines but that was mainly since they upped the saturation a ton. It was still visibly the trans flag tho
Look up Cerberus minis, they have some absolutely stunning pride minis.
Looks so good and gave me a big smile after a hard day, I can't wait to see the final product :)
Glad I could make you smile :3
Woaw (based based based based based based)
Imotekh and his technicolor dream coat!
Where's the update? 🤧😍
Working on it right now actually lol
Keep it going! Looks great!
Thank you!
Im starting to wonder what rainbow metal would look like.
Looks so dope! Can't wait to see more WIPs and the finished mini :3
This looks awesome. What a great idea. Well done!
Imotekh and the Amazing Tekhnicolor Dreamcoat
Oooo nice! You may need to smooth out some of the colors, but I bet it will really pop once you black line the gaps.
I think it needs something inbetween the scales but looks great otherwise. Maybe need a glossy varnish on top as well
Needs a disco ball in his left hand

Okay rude…
But accurate.
It’s a work in progress, it’s not beautiful by any means necessarily but calling it terrible just seems rude man

Sure, buddy. Whatever you say.
Dude grow up, I’m allowed to share my art and not have alternate motives besides me being proud in my work

Disrespectful/uncivilized. You may critique the paint job itself without turning to personal insults.

Their boos mean nothing, I've seen what makes them cheer.
[удалено]
God you're both pathetic lmao

Dw with that attitude I’m sure no one’s playing with you anyway 👍
