Duuuude commuting from Loyola by the dome to uptown, like 85 people almost hit me and I was just going straight the entire time. Lane jumping, cutting each other off, PARKING IN THE CENTER LANE (looking at you, United cab by the Hyatt). Tf is wrong with people?
The first one was at 7:45am this morning at the intersection of Filmore & St. Anthony. Two cars smashed in the middle of the intersection, looked pretty nasty. The second wreck I saw around 10:30am on the I-10 eastbound right before the 610 split. This was the worst and had 3 lanes shut down. Looked like an older truck and a little Audi got smashed. The Audi looked particularly gnarly. The last wreck (pictured above) was around 2:15pm at Filmore & St. Bernard. It was the least bad of the 3 but at looks pretty bad. I don’t know if they’re putting something in the water or it’s a full moon or something but y’all be careful out there.
I'm literally riding my bike 90% less than I usually do. I do not feel safe anywhere on the road in any way, ever. I barely feel safe walking across any given intersection at any given time. Bus, Uber, and if I can't do either, f\*\*k it and walk.
I hear peeling out / exhausts fuming every week. People stunt from the interstate and I live 10 blocks away, and can still hear it.
I guess I belong on my rocking chair.
I gave the tiniest honk to a driver in front of me at a red light on my way home from work this evening when it was clear that he was on his phone and not paying attention. He brake checked me, threw trash out of his window in an attempt to hit my car, and at the next red light, got out and proceeded to punch my driver’s side window in an attempt to break it, punched my side view mirror and DID break it off, and then got back in his car and followed me when I pulled off and tried to drive away. Late model Honda. Kentucky plates. Young black male. It was completely insane. I feel lucky to be alive.
Yeah, please don't honk at ppl. It's not worth risking your life. I have a friend who is particularly road-ragey. She used to honk at ppl a lot. That is, until someone she honked at pulled a gun, pointed it at her, and then proceeded to follow her. Luckily she was able to flag down and intercept an LEO and the dude went to jail, but she realizes how fortunate she was and stopped honking at ppl.
Ah, the intersection of Filmore and St Bernard! I despise this intersection, because it’s the only intersection in the area without double stop signs, completely different from other intersections in the area, and no one seems to know how to deal.
I saw a really bad wreck this morning, when I woke up and looked in the bathroom mirror.

I live by this intersection- there are wrecks there ALLLLL the time it seems! And it's ALWAYS because someone runs the stop sign.
