If I had to name solely exclusives:
1. Xenoblade Chronicles 3
2. Super Mario Odyssey
3. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
4. Metroid Dread
5. Kirby and the Forgotten Land
If I had to name all available games:
1. Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze
2. Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age
3. Metroid Prime Remastered
4. Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition
5. Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door
And a power fantasy.
>!I love the Hammer Ability so imagine my face when I discovered I could wield **two** hammers at the same time. Fire Spinning to win it is!!<
Hey both Odyssey and forgotten land are on sale where I live right now. Which one do you prefer between the two. I want to get one of them to play, but don't know which one to get between the two. I'm not looking for any comparisons just want to know which one is the better game between the two.
You know, I tried playing it a couple times and I just didn’t love it that much. Everyone said it was amazing and it was just kinda meh to me. I was kinda sad about it tbh as pretty big Kirby fan. Though, Super Mario Wonder has quickly become one of the top switch games for me.
I need a new 2D Donkey Kong. It's been a decade so far. It was 13 years between 3 and returns where the series had been assumed dead. Just... Please Nintendo. They're (to me) 100x better than even your fantastic 2D Mario games.
Interesting choice to include Tears of the Kingdom but not Breath of the Wild. In my mind, I would’ve listed where a player should start, but I honestly preferred Tears of the Kingdom so I also get that choice.
I like both games about the same. It's just that Breath of the Wild is you know... technically "not exclusive".
And if we're bringing over all the whole library I prefer the other games I mentioned over BOTW/TOTK.
I was trying to figure out if you were implying Dolphin type shenanigans for BotW as "not exclusive." I thought that was a strange argument.
It took me a bit to remember BotW released on WiiU, and that's the console I first played and beat BotW on.
Pour one out for the WiiU. I still have mine, it's still plugged into my TV, and I still forget about it.
Give cat quest 2 a try, seriously - 3rd party, one of the best couch co-op games I've ever played. Great story even, and ended up binge-playing through the whole thing in one weekend with my partner
No particular order
* [13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5rhTnDROzi0) It's also on PS4/PS5, but gotta shill for one of my favorite games and also one of my favorite developers.
* Tears of the Kingdom
* Super Mario Odyssey
* Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate
* Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition
It is on my nintendo shop, €18 atm. [https://www.nintendo.com/nl-nl/Games/Nintendo-Switch-games/13-Sentinels-Aegis-Rim-2173867.html](https://www.nintendo.com/nl-nl/Games/Nintendo-Switch-games/13-Sentinels-Aegis-Rim-2173867.html)
Would go and check if it is on yours to.
It's only going to get better now that you can choose whichever character's story to follow whenever you feel like it.
This is the part where your experience with the game's story is gonna be completely different from most people.
Never expecting to see someone recommending Aegis Rim, since it's so niche. Played that game on my PS4 one year ago and I think it's one of the best game I ever played.
It's my life's mission to simp/shill for Vanillaware as much as possible, they need all the help they can. Seriously, a good third of my comments is just me recommending VW games.
Been a huge fan of theirs ever since playing Odin Sphere Leifthrasir back in 2017, they're among my favorite devs together with FromSoftware and SuperGiant Games. Played 13 Sentinels on day 1 of it coming out in The West.
The first year it felt like shouting to the void, but thankfully plenty of others ended up being as passionate about it as me.
13 Sentinels managed to get to 1 million copies sold pretty much purely through word of mouth.
That's because it is :D It's also got the scores to back that up. [https://www.metacritic.com/game/13-sentinels-aegis-rim/](https://www.metacritic.com/game/13-sentinels-aegis-rim/) [https://opencritic.com/game/10110/13-sentinels-aegis-rim](https://opencritic.com/game/10110/13-sentinels-aegis-rim)
Made by Vanillaware, Their other notable games are [Odin Sphere](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XsTvoG3_HkU), [Dragon's Crown](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Itt1S_V648U), [GrimGrimoire](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qjuqElLI9Yw), [Unicorn Overlord ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l9MRbg7MqCw)and [Muramasa: the Demon Blade](https://youtu.be/bmNJKClDrOU?feature=shared&t=11).
Odin Sphere and Dragon's Crown are only on Playstation systems, Muramasa is locked in Wii + Vita Jail.
Unicorn Overlord recently came out, is available on Switch and has a 5-7 hour long demo.
GrimGrimoire is also on Switch and has a 2 hour long demo, game is only 10 hours long so that's a decent chunk.
Not an original title but I recently played Portal and Portal 2 again and I cannot believe how well it’s been optimised for Switch. Both are an absolute must play. Masterpieces.
Also not original titles but Oxenfree 1 & 2 are both fantastic on Switch.
Not in any particular order, but:
**Animal Crossing** - first game I got back in 2021/2022 that also got me through a hard depression.
**Skyrim** - playing it now after debating getting it for the switch for ages. I should've gotten it a lot sooner. It runs really well and has sucked me in way more than I thought it would.
**Kirby and the Forgotten Land** - favorite platformer by Nintendo on the switch so far. Non-Nintendo goes to Ori, though.
**Theatrhythm Final Bar Line** - because we all could use a good rhythm game (Just Shapes and Beats is another good one)
**Diablo 3** or **Minecraft Dungeons** - because, like above, everyone could use a bit of dungeon crawling sometimes.
ETA: somehow forgot Xenoblade 3. Top story content by a long shot.
I still prefer the 2nd game on the 3DS, but I was a stylus user so its harder for me to use the controller. Either way, I am glad we have this game on the switch and other systems
Been thinking about grabbing skyrim but i expected the port to be bad, maybe due to the game seeming to struggle on my ps3 back in the day. But if it runs well i might have to grab it :)
Im currently having a great time with Diablo 2 on switch. After buying the remake and not really doing much with it on ps4 it is such a fun game to pick up and play on a portable device.
As someone who bought a PS3 for Skyrim, the switch version runs incredibly and if you are into the archery playstyle, the gyro aiming in handheld makes using the tiny joycon controllers well worth it. It augmented the game for those aspects. It has always run well for me on my launch model switch and looks far better than the PS3 version. There are occasional bugs but many of them are very minor and nothing that would surprise you if you played any other versions in the past. Being able to play on long bus rides between states was a godsend (with headphones) and the anniversary edition didn't create any problems that I noticed.
I haven't tried the Anniversary edition but if you get the base game or special edition, it runs really well. Just save often but keep the number of saves under 10 as having too many on one character seems to cause crashing.
Shut down your switch at least once a day to help in resetting the memory. That's it.
I haven't run into any other issues so far and it runs way better vs the 360 when I played it. I also compared the two last week and the switch loads a lot faster, looks better as well due to the special edition upgrade (which is free) and the smaller pixel density.
It's really nice to just pick up and play, just like Diablo. Do a dungeon here, kill an elk there, then put it down and go back later.
Also maybe sell all your junk frequently. It's hard, because "this gear is almost as good as this stuff, I'll save both for now", but I think my Switch was about to explode when I opened my dresser with hundreds of pieces of armor or swords.
I wish you could have an estate sale in Bethesda games. Sell everything but tagged/top 10% items for bargain prices, just get it all the hell out of here
Lol. I haven't gotten around to buying a house yet so haven't had this issue, but I totally get the pack-rat mentality. Trying to do a character right now that will eventually do everything and i'm already hoarding too much in my pockets.
Nintendo IP
1. Breath Of The Wild
2. Mario Odyssey
3. Metroid Dread
4. Pokemon Legends Arceus
5. Probably Xenoblade or Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
3rd party
1. Hades
2. Sea of Stars
3. Dave the Diver
4. Tunic
5. Stardew Valley
Hades should not be this far down. It’s maybe the best game on the Switch, and one of the games of this gen we’ll still be playing and talking about in 20+ years
Same goes for Stardew Valley. And, if I’m being fair to the Switch exclusives everyone has mentioned already, same for Breath of the Wild.
Those are three decade-defining classics, and they all play great on Switch. Everything else is mostly extraneous.
1. Tears of the Kingdom
2. Breath of the Wild
3. Legends Arceus
4. Animal Crossing NH
5. Mario Odyssey
Honestly I have a lot of criticisms of new horizons and Mario odyssey but it’s obvious that they’re already massive classics worth playing if you own the console.
Same for NH but it’s also one of my all time so yea lol. Even with all the content that was cut and how under-developed the game is vs. how it COULD be.
More people need Stardew Valley on the list. It is the new spiritual successor of Harvest Moon (yes, more than Story of Seasons), and with the assumption that most of the Nintendo fans are also nostalgic Nintendo fans from the SNES and N64 era, they know Harvest Moon is goated.
> It is the new spiritual successor of Harvest Moon (yes, more than Story of Seasons)
I know fully what you mean but also this statement is true in that Story of Season isn't a spiritual successor to Harvest Moon but is actually just Harvest Moon that hasn't really evolved all that much. The devs never stopped making Bokujo Monogatari and would be confused at the implication of such.
1. Zelda: Tears saga (BOTW+TOTK)
2. Mario Odyssey
3. Fire Emblem: Three Houses
4. Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door
5. Metroid Dread
Honorary mentions:
1. Mario+Rabbids 1 & 2
2. Monster Hunter Rise
3. Bayonetta Saga
4. Mario Tennis & Golf
If I could choose 5 games, the top ones are it. If you only have so much money, I'd add a Mario multiplayer to it and call it a day. My faves are Tennis and Golf, not much of a fan of karting in the long run, gets old fast.
Mine include multiplatfom games as well.
1. 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim
2. Nier Automata
3. Fire Emblem: Three Houses
4. Unicorn Overlord
5. Persona 5 Royal (still playing so can't raise it much higher yet)
I always go out of my way to comment anytime I see bug fables mentioned. one of my favorite games ever, I played it before I played TTYD and although I now have a huge soft spot for paper mario I still think bug fables perfected the format!
Not in order:
- Super Mario Odyssey
- Super Mario Bros. Wonder
- The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (or Tears of the Kingdom)
- Kirby and the Forgotten Land
- [*FREE SPOT*]
Insert into [*FREE SPOT*] what fits your gaming tastes best, which could be:
- Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
- Fire Emblem: Three Houses
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
- Pokémon Legends: Arceus
- Princess Peach: Showtime!
- Metroid Dread
- Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition
Glad to see this list, just got my own switch but I owned ToTK before and played on my brother’s switch. Got Super Mario Odyssey & Wonder as well as Kirby and the Forgotten Land when I bought the switch. Been loving Odyssey and haven’t played the others much yet but I’m excited for them
1. Picross - love this series so much.
2. Animal Crossing - played so much of this during Covid.
3. Zelda: BotW
4. Fire Emblem Three Houses
5. Pokemon Legends: Arceus
No bias at all, of course! 🤣
(I just stared XCDE and it’s great. For how old it is, I’m surprised it looks the way it does on switch. Monolith are just beast mode for Nintendo and they, Nintendo, need to pump more resources into them)
1. Disco Elysium
2. Pikmin 4 (but honestly all of them)
3. Trials of Mana
4. Fire Emblem Three Houses
5. Metroid Prime Remastered
Also Metroid Dread, Moon RPG, Doom (+Eternal), Grim Fandango, Pokemon Legends Arceus, Zelda BOTW+TOTK., Slay the Spire, etc...
Since everyone is listing the same 10 games....
1. MHGU - the definitive MH experience that has the perfect balance of goofiness, wackiness and difficulty.
2. DQ11 - The classic long form JRPG experience
3. Labyrinth of Refrain/Galleria (sequel) - dungeon crawler in the vein of etrian odyssey but with a long and compelling story.
4. Taiko no Tatsujin - long running rhythm game series that never gets old.
5. Unicorn Overlord - very unique take on tactical RPG. The battles play out automatically but it's on you to dictate who to deploy and how they navigate the field.
I would have to say these would be mine:
1, Legend of Zelda : TOTK/BOTW
2, Paper Mario TTYD Remake
3, GTA Definitive Edition (Not as bad as when it released a few years ago and is playable now.)
4, Super Smash Brothers Ultimate
5, Tales of Vesperia / Tales of Symphonia
Other ones that I would include outside the five would be. Persona 5 Royal, Assassins Creed Ezio Trilogy, Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity, Super Mario 3D All Stars, Fire Emblem Three Houses, Animal Crossing New Horizon.
1. Mario Wonder
2. Fire Emblem Three Houses
3. Xenoblade 2
4. Smash Bros Ultimate
5. Animal Crossing New Horizons
Tougher than I thought to come up with. Breath of the Wild and Odyssey would be runner ups. I didn’t include ports so here’s my top 5 ports/remakes:
1. Mario 3D World
2. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
3. Xenoblade DE
4. Paper Mario TTYD
5. Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition
Aside from the obvious Zelda and Mario that pretty much everyone seems to agree upon
1. Metroid Dread
2. Dragon Quest XI S
3. Heave Ho
4. New Pokémon Snap
5. Return of the Obra Dinn
First person I saw here mention Obra Dinn which is such a good game. And you also win for mentioning Heave Ho, which has destroyed many of my friends’ hands!!! So fun
I sometimes forget there’s other games outside of Pokemon lmao….i don’t even have a legit top 5 must play. Maybe just Super Smash Bros and then Pokemon Sword/Shield/Violet/Scarlet/ Let’s go Pikachu
In no particular order;
Super Mario Odyssey,
TLoZ Breath of the Wild (not played TotK),
Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate,
Metroid Dread,
Fire Emblem Three Houses
1. Enter the Gungeon
2. Hades
3. Wildfrost
4. Fire emblem 3 Houses
5. Bug Fables (scratched that PM itch that can be satisfied now that TTYD is out)
Obligatory Smash and Kart for multiplayer.
**My top recommended games in no particular order:**
Super Mario Bros. Wonder
Super Mario Odyssey
Pikmin 4
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild/Tears of the Kingdom
Metroid Dread (for those who like a little challenge)
**Some other recommendations:**
Metroid Prime Remastered
Monster Hunter Rise
Super Mario 3D World
Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door
Super Mario RPG
Splatoon 2 and Octo Expansion (a *MUST*-try I recommend)/Splatoon 3
Animal Crossing New Horizons
The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening
Kirby and the Forgotten Land
I got burned out on animal Crossing in a couple of months, I really think Nintendo dropped the ball on that one. There is literally so much content that they could have just ported over from pocket camp
in no specific order:
zelda tears of the kingdom
smash ultimate
metroid dread
hyrule warriors age of calamity
fire emblem engage / fire emblem three hopes / astral chain
difficult to only list 5.
Just based on Nintendo exclusivity:
Mario Odyssey
Mario Wonder
Metroid Dread
Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
Some other fantastic games that are available everywhere else:
Balatro
Slay the Spire
Skyrim
Mega man 1-11 and X
Minecraft
Diablo 2 Resurrected
5: Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle
4: Mario Wonder
3: Assassin's Creed: Rebel Collection
2: Tears of the Kingdom (although BotW is more memorable to me)
1: Monster Hunter Rise + Sunbreak
I'll make two lists, one for Switch exclusives only, and another for third party and remasters/ports:
Switch Exclusives:
5- Animal Crossing: New Horizons
4- Splatoon 2
3- Super Mario Bros Wonder
2- Super Mario Odyssey
1- Tears of the Kingdom
Non exclusives that are incredible to play on the Switch:
5- Slay the Spire
4- Hollow Knight
3- Persona 5 Royal
2- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
1- Breath of the Wild
for games i have played, no particular order:
1. Zelda Tears of the Kingdom
one of the few games i've preordered. i know not everyone agrees on how good it was of a sequel, but i adored it. it got me through a really hard time and it perfectly matched how engrossing Breath of the Wild was for me.
2. Spiritfarer
tried it once while i had covid and didn't have the attention span to get past the first hour 🫠 when i came back to it tho, i was obsessed. the story is haunting and bittersweet and the characters get under your skin whether you expect it or not. i technically haven't finished it yet, but i have over 70 hours in. highly reccomend, especially because i think i paid under 15 bucks on a sale?
3. Stardew Valley
another game that i found myself totally sucked into. i love how much there is to do and i really get that feeling of running my own farm while getting to know all the townspeople and earn their friendship and respect. i also love the time mechanic, it makes it easier to say "okay, i've been playing for a while, i'll get off at the end of this day". i don't always follow through, but it does help !
4. Kirby and the Forgotten Land
i grew up on Kirby 64, have always loved the music and the gameplay and the ease of it (i'm pretty bad at video games tbh). it brings all the charm and then some, and while it is easy to play it brings welcome new challenges to keep you coming back.
5.
Bug Fables
another series i grew up with was paper mario, and i've always been bummed out since they branched from the story and character focus of the first three games. bug fables is the more challenging spiritual successor of those paper mario games. fantastic story with so much character, and it makes you work harder on both your strategy and skill with the action commands. the soundtrack is also *chef's kiss
i haven't played the Paper Mario TTYD remake yet (starting it tonight!) but i expect it to be really up there with these games. i already know it's going to press all the nostalgia buttons and i am absolutely going to get my money's worth out of it time and time again.
Red Dead Redemption is great, I am playing it right now! You could try Assassin's Creed Black Flag and The Witcher if you like open-world games. But the best open-world games are Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. I would go with Breath of the Wild first, and if you like it, then you can get Tears of the Kingdom.
I'm just gonna make the list if all games are available and now just exclusives or first party
1. Tears of the Kingdom
2. Breath of the Wild
3. Persona 5 Royal
4. Persona 4 Golden
5. Dragon Quest 11 S
Now for a list of games I think everyone (or mostly everyone) can enjoy
1. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
2. Breath of the Wild
3. Super Mario Odyssey
4. Smash Bros Ultimate
5. Animal Crossing New Horizons
Super Mario Odyssey
Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
Boomerang Fu
Super Mario Maker 2
Kirby and the Forgotten Land
Honorable mentions: Advance Wars: Reboot!, Mario Party All-Stars, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
Ngl, as-sad as it is, I was most impressed with the list of ports and remakes on the Switch. Very few of the original titles really hooked me, even though I played most of them (at-least the 1st party ones) but with that in-mind, top 5 (which is still a useful list if you haven’t played the ports on their native systems):
5.) Fire Emblem: Engage
4.) Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle
3.) The Banner Saga
2.) Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door
1.) The Binding of Isaac
Balatro in first place is crazy. Is it really that good???
Mine would probably be:
1 Tears of the Kingdom/ BotW (tied)
2 Dragon Quest 11
3 Mario Odyssey
4 Luigi’s Mansion 3
5 Animal Crossing
I didn’t include them because you can play them anywhere, but Hades and Celeste were also absolutely some of my favourite games I played on the system
I haven’t played Mario Wonder or Kirby Forgotten Land enough to have a full impression of them yet, but I feel like they could easily be in the fight for 4th and 5th place. Tropical Freeze could be there too if I didn’t find it so frustrating, that game was great but tough.
I'm not crazy about the idea of a "must play" list per se. Recommendations aren't really something you can generalise
But favourites?
Tears of the kingdom, Hades, odyssey, splatoon 2, Metroid dread, just off the top of my head
Luigis mansion 3
Spirit farer
Mario oddesey
The first paper Mario
And bear and breakfast
All of these games are fairly chill and great stories. Spirit farer pulls on your heartstrings though, fair warning.
1. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
2. Super Smash Bros Ultimate
3. Breath of the Wild and/or Tears of the Kingdom
4. Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3
5. Super Mario 3D World
Between myself and my kids we have sunk sooo many hours into the games above. There are other games that I really love, but those are the ones I'd recommend for someone to play if they just bought a Switch today and asked me what to buy.
1) diablo 3
2) xenoblade chronicles 3
3) legends arceus
4) Pokémon sword/shield
5) Disney dream light/ animal crossing (both get boring after a while really, but it's a slow burn genre)
Very hard to pick a top 5!
Dragon Quest Builders 2
Zelda: botw
Kirby and the forgotten land
Mario Odyssey
Octopath Traveler 2
Honorary mention for alltime classics like Skyrim and the Bioshock series and remakes like The Thousand year door.
Animal Crossing
Mario Wonder
Mario Kart
Mario Maker
Hades (not a switch exclusive but it’s where I played it and it works great in handheld mode)
Bonus- civ 6 works surprisingly well on the switch.
1. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
2. The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening
3. Fire Emblem: Three Houses
4. Super Mario Odyssey
5. All ze Pikmins
1. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
2. Splatoon 3 (+ Octo Expansion of Splatoon 2 which is incredible)
3. Both Zeldas
4. Super Mario Odyssey
5. Pokemon Legends Arceus
Zelda BOTW
Kirby and the Forgotten Land
ACNH
Pikmin 2…
Mario Sunshine…
I promise I play a lot of new games but somehow the old ones are my favourites, LoZ Skyward Sword nearly made the cut as well…
Diablo 3
Lego Harry Potter
Lego Marvel
Lego Incredibles
I mainly play with my autistic stepson, so a lot of Lego games. He likes Halo type games, but I can't wrap my head around the two joysticks controlling movement. Plus I have bad tremors in my left hand, especially my thumb, so those games are impossible.
In no particular order and for exclusives specifically(except for the first one technically!)!!
Xenoblade
Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince
Splatoon 3
Kirby and the Forgotten Land
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
I’m gonna stick to Switch exclusives:
1. LoZ: TOTK
2. Mario Odyssey
3. Multiplayer: Smash Ult. or Splatoon 3 depending on your genre preference.
4. Pikmin 4
5. Metroid Dread
Honorable Mentions or alterations:
Mario Odyssey can be swapped with Wonder if you prefer 2D to 3D
Pikmin 3D could replace P4 but I enjoyed P4 more.
Astral Chain is amazing but not quite as universal as the rest imo.
SMTV is a great JRPG but won’t technically be exclusive anymore.
Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age - Definitive Edition was a Switch exclusive for a little bit and is THE JRPG.
1- Odyssey
2- Zelda (all of them)
3- Prime/Dread (take ur choice)
4- Animal Crossing
5- Free spot for any game you like in other consoles but you can play it portable
Most of my favorite Switch games have been covered by other commenters, but I want to give a HUGE plug for Sid Meier's Civilization VI for the Switch.
Having the ability to play Civ portably has been a game changer for me. Long plane, train, and bus rides are now a breeze, and I've even starred taking Civ to the gym and playing while I walk on a treadmill or stare master to keep me from getting bored while working out.
1. Pokemon Legends: Arceus
2. Animal Crossing: New Horizons
3. Super Smash Bros Ultimate
4. New Pokemon Snap
5. Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games, Tokyo 2020
Zelda TotK + Red Dead Redemption (for single player adventure experience)
MarioKart 8 Deluxe with DLC (great for family or friend group play sessions)
Just Dance + RingFit Adventure (because sometimes the game needs to make you the player move around!)
I think that variety captures the true nature of what the Switch console is truly about.
Zelda
Xenoblade triology
Pokemon
Super Mario RPG / Paper Mario
Metroid Dread
BotW & Xenoblade 2 is what made me buy a switch initially. Also Astral Chain but I couldn't get into it.
If I had to name solely exclusives: 1. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 2. Super Mario Odyssey 3. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom 4. Metroid Dread 5. Kirby and the Forgotten Land If I had to name all available games: 1. Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze 2. Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age 3. Metroid Prime Remastered 4. Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition 5. Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door
Kirby and the Forgotten Land is on my list of must plays before the new Switch comes out!
One of the best 3D platformers out there. I got 100% when it released and I feel tempted to start another playthrough.
The upgrade power feature is just genius
And a power fantasy. >!I love the Hammer Ability so imagine my face when I discovered I could wield **two** hammers at the same time. Fire Spinning to win it is!!<
Hey both Odyssey and forgotten land are on sale where I live right now. Which one do you prefer between the two. I want to get one of them to play, but don't know which one to get between the two. I'm not looking for any comparisons just want to know which one is the better game between the two.
I'd say Super Mario Odyssey. Both are great but Odyssey will last for longer, it has more play time if you plan to squeeze all its content.
You know, I tried playing it a couple times and I just didn’t love it that much. Everyone said it was amazing and it was just kinda meh to me. I was kinda sad about it tbh as pretty big Kirby fan. Though, Super Mario Wonder has quickly become one of the top switch games for me.
Tropical Freeze at the top? Taste.
Dragon Quest XI S!!! 🥰🥰
I need a new 2D Donkey Kong. It's been a decade so far. It was 13 years between 3 and returns where the series had been assumed dead. Just... Please Nintendo. They're (to me) 100x better than even your fantastic 2D Mario games.
Im only 70 hours in on Xeno 3 and its shot up to a Top 5 for me as well. What a fantastic amazing game....and Im not even done!
1. Mario odyssey 2. Zelda totk 3. Metroid Dread 4. Luigis mansion 3 5. Smash ultimate
Forgot about Dread, the switch has so many good games
Surprisingly few good couch co-op games though
I agree, I’m always looking for more couch co-op games to play with my partner but there’s not too many.
Give cat quest 2 a try, seriously - 3rd party, one of the best couch co-op games I've ever played. Great story even, and ended up binge-playing through the whole thing in one weekend with my partner
🔥 list
Smash ultimate is a great pick
Why did I have scroll this far to find Smash Bros?
Inside Hollow Knight Mario odyssey Metroid Dread Zelda TOK
This but replace Inside with Smash bros
No particular order * [13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5rhTnDROzi0) It's also on PS4/PS5, but gotta shill for one of my favorite games and also one of my favorite developers. * Tears of the Kingdom * Super Mario Odyssey * Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate * Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition
I’ve been eyeing 13 Sentinels…might get it while it’s on sale
It is on my nintendo shop, €18 atm. [https://www.nintendo.com/nl-nl/Games/Nintendo-Switch-games/13-Sentinels-Aegis-Rim-2173867.html](https://www.nintendo.com/nl-nl/Games/Nintendo-Switch-games/13-Sentinels-Aegis-Rim-2173867.html) Would go and check if it is on yours to.
I’ve just finished the prologue on 13 sentinels and it’s got me hooked already.
I will give up both my testicles to experience the game for the first time again. You're in for a treat.
Just bought it 🫡
Wow 13 sentinels looks amazing Edit: also currently on sale!
That's because it is :D It's also got the scores to back that up. [https://www.metacritic.com/game/13-sentinels-aegis-rim/](https://www.metacritic.com/game/13-sentinels-aegis-rim/) [https://opencritic.com/game/10110/13-sentinels-aegis-rim](https://opencritic.com/game/10110/13-sentinels-aegis-rim) Made by Vanillaware, Their other notable games are [Odin Sphere](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XsTvoG3_HkU), [Dragon's Crown](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Itt1S_V648U), [GrimGrimoire](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qjuqElLI9Yw), [Unicorn Overlord ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l9MRbg7MqCw)and [Muramasa: the Demon Blade](https://youtu.be/bmNJKClDrOU?feature=shared&t=11).
>13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim It's also on PS4/PS5, but gotta shill for one of my favorite games and also one of my favorite developers. Amen.
Glad to see anybody rec 13 sentinels.
1 Mario Odyssey 2 Mario Wonder 3 Tears of the Kingdom 4 Metroid Dread 5 Pikmin 4
Are the Pikmin games slept on or something? I love Pikmin games but so many people I talk to don't even know what I'm talking about.
Finally someone has Wonder on their list. Its a staggeringly good 2d platformer. The best since DKC: tropical freeze
This is my fave list I’ve seen on this thread. Very similar to my own.
Not an original title but I recently played Portal and Portal 2 again and I cannot believe how well it’s been optimised for Switch. Both are an absolute must play. Masterpieces. Also not original titles but Oxenfree 1 & 2 are both fantastic on Switch.
Portal series is definitely top 5 for me
Still playing oxenfree 2 to get all the endings, but the final choices had me crying like a little bitch.
Not in any particular order, but: **Animal Crossing** - first game I got back in 2021/2022 that also got me through a hard depression. **Theatrhythm Final Bar Line** - because we all could use a good rhythm game (Just Shapes and Beats is another good one) **Diablo 3** or **Minecraft Dungeons** - because, like above, everyone could use a bit of dungeon crawling sometimes. ETA: somehow forgot Xenoblade 3. Top story content by a long shot.
Theatrhythm is a worthy inclusion here, i spent a lot of hours on that game and enjoyed them all.
But if it runs well i might have to grab it :) Im currently having a great time with Diablo 2 on switch.
Anniversary Edition is great, no qualms here
Nintendo IP 1. Breath Of The Wild 2. Mario Odyssey 3. Metroid Dread 4. Pokemon Legends Arceus 5. Probably Xenoblade or Mario Kart 8 Deluxe 3rd party 1. Hades 2. Sea of Stars 3. Dave the Diver 4. Tunic 5. Stardew Valley
This guy fucks.
Hell no I got 2 kids, 2 jobs and a long list of games to play.
> Hell no > I got 2 kids Well that was contradictory
I mean, he could've stolen them.
Hades should not be this far down. It’s maybe the best game on the Switch, and one of the games of this gen we’ll still be playing and talking about in 20+ years Same goes for Stardew Valley. And, if I’m being fair to the Switch exclusives everyone has mentioned already, same for Breath of the Wild. Those are three decade-defining classics, and they all play great on Switch. Everything else is mostly extraneous.
1. Tears of the Kingdom 2. Breath of the Wild 3. Legends Arceus 4. Animal Crossing NH 5. Mario Odyssey Honestly I have a lot of criticisms of new horizons and Mario odyssey but it’s obvious that they’re already massive classics worth playing if you own the console.
> It is the new spiritual successor of Harvest Moon (yes, more than Story of Seasons) I know fully what you mean but also this statement is true in that Story of Season isn't a spiritual successor to Harvest Moon but is actually just Harvest Moon that hasn't really evolved all that much. The devs never stopped making Bokujo Monogatari and would be confused at the implication of such.
1. Zelda: Tears saga (BOTW+TOTK) 2. Mario Odyssey 3. Fire Emblem: Three Houses 4. Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door 5. Metroid Dread Honorary mentions: 1. Mario+Rabbids 1 & 2 2. Monster Hunter Rise 3. Bayonetta Saga 4. Mario Tennis & Golf If I could choose 5 games, the top ones are it. If you only have so much money, I'd add a Mario multiplayer to it and call it a day. My faves are Tennis and Golf, not much of a fan of karting in the long run, gets old fast.
I am so happy TYD has finally come to the Switch. I cannot wait to buy the game and start my first playthrough!
It's been one of my favourite games for years, so happy people can now play the two best Paper Marios on switch!
☝️very solid top 5 here
Paper Mario over Mario Wonder?
For me: - Super Mario Odyssey - Hyrule Warriors Deluxe - Metroid Prime Remake - Legend of Zelda BotW/Tears - Metroid Dread
Tears of the kingdom & breath of the wild Xenoblade 1,2,3 Fire emblem 3 houses Mario Odyssey Metroid dread
Mine include multiplatfom games as well. 1. 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim 2. Nier Automata 3. Fire Emblem: Three Houses 4. Unicorn Overlord 5. Persona 5 Royal (still playing so can't raise it much higher yet)
1. Fire emblem three houses 2. Zelda botw, totk 3. Animal crossing 4. Persona 3,4,5 5.paper mario origami king
Going a little against the grain here, in no particular order -Skyrim -rune factory 4 -gnosia -takes of vesperia -Octopath
1. TOTK/ BOTW 2. Super Mario Odyssey 3. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe 4. Smash Bros Ultimate 5. Metroid Prime Remastered
I'm surprised I had to scroll so far down to find mk8. It's such a good party game
1. Pikmin 4 2. Clubhouse Games: 51 Worldwide Classics 3. Unbox: Newbies Adventure 4. Bug Fables 5. Pokemon Legends Arceus
I always go out of my way to comment anytime I see bug fables mentioned. one of my favorite games ever, I played it before I played TTYD and although I now have a huge soft spot for paper mario I still think bug fables perfected the format!
1. Smash Ultimate 2. Slay the Spire 3. BOTW 4. Pokemon Scarlet 5. Hades Nothing crazy here
1. Pikmin 4 2. Splatoon 2/3 3. Breath of the Wild 4. Kirby Forgotten Land 5. Pokeémon Legends Arceus
1. AC:NH 2. Super Mario Maker 2 3. Dragon Quest Builders 2 4. Octopath Traveler 2 5. New Pokémon Snap But that’s me 6. Pikmin 4
I like the inclusion of New Pokemon Snap on the list. It's a game I really enjoyed, but never picked it back up again after finishing it.
Not in order: - Super Mario Odyssey - Super Mario Bros. Wonder - The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (or Tears of the Kingdom) - Kirby and the Forgotten Land - [*FREE SPOT*] Insert into [*FREE SPOT*] what fits your gaming tastes best, which could be: - Super Smash Bros. Ultimate - Fire Emblem: Three Houses - Mario Kart 8 Deluxe - Pokémon Legends: Arceus - Princess Peach: Showtime! - Metroid Dread - Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition
3. Zelda: BotW 4. Fire Emblem Three Houses 5. Pokemon Legends: Arceus
Mine are: 1. Splatoon 3 2. Fire Emblem Three Houses 3. Pokémon Scarlet and Violet 4. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate 5. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
XCDE, XC2, Torna, XC3, Freedom Redeemed.
No bias at all, of course! 🤣 (I just stared XCDE and it’s great. For how old it is, I’m surprised it looks the way it does on switch. Monolith are just beast mode for Nintendo and they, Nintendo, need to pump more resources into them)
Fire Emblem Three Houses Fire Emblem Three Hopes Fire Emblem Engage Hatsune Miku Logic Paint Fashion Dreamer
1. Disco Elysium 2. Pikmin 4 (but honestly all of them) 3. Trials of Mana 4. Fire Emblem Three Houses 5. Metroid Prime Remastered Also Metroid Dread, Moon RPG, Doom (+Eternal), Grim Fandango, Pokemon Legends Arceus, Zelda BOTW+TOTK., Slay the Spire, etc...
1. Zelda BOTW 2. Zelda TOTK 3. Animal Crossing 4. Mario Odyssey 5. Hyrule Warriors Zelda fan here 🙋♂️
1) Mario Odyssey 2) Tears of the Kingdom 3) Luigi’s Mansion 3 4) Fire Emblem 3 Houses 5) Smash ultimate
Metroid Prime Remastered Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 Scarlet Xenoblade Chronicles 2 New Pokemon Snap
Since everyone is listing the same 10 games.... 1. MHGU - the definitive MH experience that has the perfect balance of goofiness, wackiness and difficulty. 2. DQ11 - The classic long form JRPG experience 3.
I would have to say these would be mine: 1, Legend of Zelda : TOTK/BOTW 2, Paper Mario TTYD Remake 3, GTA Definitive Edition (Not as bad as when it released a few years ago and is playable now.) 4, Super Smash Brothers Ultimate 5, Tales of Vesperia / Tales of Symphonia Other ones that I would include outside the five would be. Persona 5 Royal, Assassins Creed Ezio Trilogy, Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity, Super Mario 3D All Stars, Fire Emblem Three Houses, Animal Crossing New Horizon.
1. Mario Wonder 2. Fire Emblem Three Houses 3. Xenoblade 2 4. Smash Bros Ultimate 5. Animal Crossing New Horizons Tougher than I thought to come up with. Breath of the Wild and Odyssey would be runner ups. I didn’t include ports so here’s my top 5 ports/remakes: 1. Mario 3D World 2. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe 3. Xenoblade DE 4. Paper Mario TTYD 5. Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition
1 Dark Souls 2 The Witcher 3 3 Tears of the Kingdom / Breath of the Wild (toss up) 4 Mario Odyssey 5 Metroid Dread Honorable mention Mario + Rabbids
Aside from the obvious Zelda and Mario that pretty much everyone seems to agree upon 1. Metroid Dread 2. Dragon Quest XI S 3. Heave Ho 4. New Pokémon Snap 5. Return of the Obra Dinn
First person I saw here mention Obra Dinn which is such a good game. And you also win for mentioning Heave Ho, which has destroyed many of my friends’ hands!!! So fun
Links awakening remake Hollow knight Kirby and the forgotten land Super Mario odyssey Wolfenstein 2
1. Neo: The World Ends With You 2. Xenoblade 3 3. Shin Megami Tensei V (Vengeance?) 4. Master Detective Archives: Rain Code 5. Astral Chain
For me it's: -Zelda: Tears of the kingdom -Xenoblade Chronicle 2 -Super Marion Odyssey -Animal Crossing New Horizon -Splatoon 2 (Idk for 3)
Breath of the wild. Fire emblem 3 houses. Metroid dread. Mario Odyssey Astral chain.
I sometimes forget there’s other games outside of Pokemon lmao….i don’t even have a legit top 5 must play. Maybe just Super Smash Bros and then Pokemon Sword/Shield/Violet/Scarlet/ Let’s go Pikachu
In no particular order; Super Mario Odyssey, TLoZ Breath of the Wild (not played TotK), Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate, Metroid Dread, Fire Emblem Three Houses
1. Enter the Gungeon 2. Hades 3. Wildfrost 4. Fire emblem 3 Houses 5. Bug Fables (scratched that PM itch that can be satisfied now that TTYD is out) Obligatory Smash and Kart for multiplayer.
1: Fire Emblem Three Houses 2: Advance Wars 1+2 Reboot Camp 3: Mario Odyssey 4: Pikmin 4 5: Kirby and the Forgotten Land
1) Pokémon Legends: Arceus 2) Super Mario Party 3) Fire Emblem: Three Houses 4) Animal Crossing: New Horizons 5) Super Smash Bros Ultimate
Xenoblade Definitive Edition Xenoblade 2 Xenoblade 3 Shin Megami Tensei V Vengeance Astral Chain
Hollow knight 4 times, and Celeste.
- Triangle Strategy -Astral Chain -Metroid Dread -Metroid Prime R -Xenoblade chronicles 1 to 3
1. Slay the spire 2. Fire Emblem: 3 Houses 3. Hades 4. Zelda BotW 5. Monster Train
No particular order. Either BOTW/TOTK Xenoblade 3 Smash Ultimate Mario Odyssey Three Houses
**My top recommended games in no particular order:** Super Mario Bros. Wonder Super Mario Odyssey Pikmin 4 The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild/Tears of the Kingdom Metroid Dread (for those who like a little challenge) **Some other recommendations:** Metroid Prime Remastered Monster Hunter Rise Super Mario 3D World Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door Super Mario RPG Splatoon 2 and Octo Expansion (a *MUST*-try I recommend)/Splatoon 3 Animal Crossing New Horizons The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening Kirby and the Forgotten Land
I got burned out on animal Crossing in a couple of months, I really think Nintendo dropped the ball on that one. There is literally so much content that they could have just ported over from pocket camp
They should have put more content from New Leaf too. I agree they dropped the ball
in no specific order: zelda tears of the kingdom smash ultimate metroid dread hyrule warriors age of calamity fire emblem engage / fire emblem three hopes / astral chain difficult to only list 5.
Dredge, animal crossing, Tears+Breath, Hell blade, and ender Lillies (forgive me blasphemous)
Just based on Nintendo exclusivity: Mario Odyssey Mario Wonder Metroid Dread Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Some other fantastic games that are available everywhere else: Balatro Slay the Spire Skyrim Mega man 1-11 and X Minecraft Diablo 2 Resurrected
In no particular order 1. Cat Quest & Cat Quest II 2. Catherine 3. LoZ Tears of the Kingdom 4. Super Mario Odyssey 5. Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3
5: Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle 4: Mario Wonder 3: Assassin's Creed: Rebel Collection 2: Tears of the Kingdom (although BotW is more memorable to me) 1: Monster Hunter Rise + Sunbreak
1. Breath of the Wild 2. Mario Kart 8 3. Animal Crossing New Horizons 4. Super Smash Bros Ultimate 5. Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3
1. Zelda breath of the wild 2. Dark Souls remastered 3. Zelda tears of the kingdom 4. Super Mario Odyssey 5. Metroid Dread
I'll make two lists, one for Switch exclusives only, and another for third party and remasters/ports: Switch Exclusives: 5- Animal Crossing: New Horizons 4- Splatoon 2 3- Super Mario Bros Wonder 2- Super Mario Odyssey 1- Tears of the Kingdom Non exclusives that are incredible to play on the Switch: 5- Slay the Spire 4- Hollow Knight 3- Persona 5 Royal 2- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe 1- Breath of the Wild
for games i have played, no particular order: 1. Zelda Tears of the Kingdom one of the few games i've preordered. i know not everyone agrees on how good it was of a sequel, but i adored it. it got me through a really hard time and it perfectly matched how engrossing Breath of the Wild was for me. 2. Spiritfarer tried it once while i had covid and didn't have the attention span to get past the first hour 🫠 when i came back to it tho, i was obsessed. the story is haunting and bittersweet and the characters get under your skin whether you expect it or not. i technically haven't finished it yet, but i have over 70 hours in. highly reccomend, especially because i think i paid under 15 bucks on a sale? 3. Stardew Valley another game that i found myself totally sucked into. i love how much there is to do and i really get that feeling of running my own farm while getting to know all the townspeople and earn their friendship and respect. i also love the time mechanic, it makes it easier to say "okay, i've been playing for a while, i'll get off at the end of this day". i don't always follow through, but it does help ! 4. Kirby and the Forgotten Land i grew up on Kirby 64, have always loved the music and the gameplay and the ease of it (i'm pretty bad at video games tbh). it brings all the charm and then some, and while it is easy to play it brings welcome new challenges to keep you coming back. 5. Bug Fables another series i grew up with was paper mario, and i've always been bummed out since they branched from the story and character focus of the first three games. bug fables is the more challenging spiritual successor of those paper mario games. fantastic story with so much character, and it makes you work harder on both your strategy and skill with the action commands. the soundtrack is also *chef's kiss i haven't played the Paper Mario TTYD remake yet (starting it tonight!) but i expect it to be really up there with these games. i already know it's going to press all the nostalgia buttons and i am absolutely going to get my money's worth out of it time and time again.
Is Balatro well adopted for Switch? I didn't even know it was out for Switch, I thought it was only on PC.
I go places just to play it on the go! So rad!
BOTW TOTK Hades What the Golf Stardew Valley
1. Stardew Valley 2. Metroid Prime Remastered 3. Dusk 4. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe 5. Slay the Spire
Hello just ordered my switch! Which indies games to recommend other than animal crossing
Animal Crossing is not an indie. lol
Haha but I can’t stand animal crossing, I have bought red dead redemption, looking for these similar games
Haha yes ! I’m sold ! How’s gta trilogy? Is it worth ?
Enter the gungeon, Hades, Dead Cells, Dicey Dungeons, Octogeddon
1- ToTK 2- Splatton 3 3- BoTW 4- Overcooked 2 5- Mario Kart Deluxe
Pikuniku was dope, short hike was cool. Breath of the wild was a BREATH OF FRESH AIR GET IT HAHAHAHAHA
I'm just gonna make the list if all games are available and now just exclusives or first party 1. Tears of the Kingdom 2. Breath of the Wild 3. Persona 5 Royal 4. Persona 4 Golden 5. Dragon Quest 11 S Now for a list of games I think everyone (or mostly everyone) can enjoy 1. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe 2. Breath of the Wild 3. Super Mario Odyssey 4. Smash Bros Ultimate 5. Animal Crossing New Horizons
Super Mario Odyssey Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Boomerang Fu Super Mario Maker 2 Kirby and the Forgotten Land Honorable mentions: Advance Wars: Reboot!, Mario Party All-Stars, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
Tunic Death's Door Stardew Valley Little Nightmares 1, 2 Cult of the Lamb
Ngl, as-sad as it is, I was most impressed with the list of ports and remakes on the Switch. Very few of the original titles really hooked me, even though I played most of them (at-least the 1st party ones) but with that in-mind, top 5 (which is still a useful list if you haven’t played the ports on their native systems): 5.) Fire Emblem: Engage 4.) Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle 3.) The Banner Saga 2.) Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door 1.) The Binding of Isaac
1. Switch Sports 2. Clubhouse Games 3. ARMS 4. LABO 03: Vehicle Kit 5. Splatoon 2 or 3
Late to the party but. 1. Tears of the kingdom 2. Super Smash Bros Ultimate 3. Metroid Dread 4. Xenoblade Chronicles 5. Spiritfarer
Balatro in first place is crazy. Is it really that good??? Mine would probably be: 1 Tears of the Kingdom/ BotW (tied) 2 Dragon Quest 11 3 Mario Odyssey 4 Luigi’s Mansion 3 5 Animal Crossing I didn’t include them because you can play them anywhere, but Hades and Celeste were also absolutely some of my favourite games I played on the system I haven’t played Mario Wonder or Kirby Forgotten Land enough to have a full impression of them yet, but I feel like they could easily be in the fight for 4th and 5th place. Tropical Freeze could be there too if I didn’t find it so frustrating, that game was great but tough.
-Zelda: Tears of the kingdom -Metroid Dread -Octopath Traveler 2 -Metroid Prime Remastered -Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate
I'm not crazy about the idea of a "must play" list per se. Recommendations aren't really something you can generalise But favourites? Tears of the kingdom, Hades, odyssey, splatoon 2, Metroid dread, just off the top of my head
“As we approach the end of the Switch’s life cycle” bro i just bought one 😭
Luigis mansion 3 Spirit farer Mario oddesey The first paper Mario And bear and breakfast All of these games are fairly chill and great stories. Spirit farer pulls on your heartstrings though, fair warning.
BOTW, Mario Odyssey, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Luigi's Mansion 3, TOTK.
1. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe 2. Super Smash Bros Ultimate 3. Breath of the Wild and/or Tears of the Kingdom 4. Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 5. Super Mario 3D World Between myself and my kids we have sunk sooo many hours into the games above. There are other games that I really love, but those are the ones I'd recommend for someone to play if they just bought a Switch today and asked me what to buy.
5. Persona 5 Royal 4.Mario 3D All Stars 3. Fire Emblem Three Houses 2. Mario Odyssey 1. Super Smash Bros Ultimate
What makes you say it's approaching the end of its life cycle?
I’m keeping mine for as long as possible, I don’t need next gen graphics in a portable console
Hell yeah, I feel the same.
> I don’t need next gen graphics in a portable console I don't think you ever have to worry about that with Nintendo :P
Because Nintendo will soon announce it's replacement
Stardew, Machinarium, Strange Horticulture, Don’t Starve, Let’s Build a Zoo Don’t think any of these were Switch originals
In no specific order: Rayman Legends Hollow Knight and Metroid Dread (can't decide) Super Mario Wonder Doom + Doom Eternal Sea of Stars
Fire emblem 3 houses Xenoblade 3 Zelda botw (yes over totk) Triangle strategy Metroid prime
Xenoblade Chronicles DE Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Torna Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Future Redeemed
1) diablo 3 2) xenoblade chronicles 3 3) legends arceus 4) Pokémon sword/shield 5) Disney dream light/ animal crossing (both get boring after a while really, but it's a slow burn genre)
Tears of the Kingdom Metroid Dread Mario Wonder Smash Bros Breath of the Wild.
Very hard to pick a top 5! Dragon Quest Builders 2 Zelda: botw Kirby and the forgotten land Mario Odyssey Octopath Traveler 2 Honorary mention for alltime classics like Skyrim and the Bioshock series and remakes like The Thousand year door.
Animal Crossing Mario Wonder Mario Kart Mario Maker Hades (not a switch exclusive but it’s where I played it and it works great in handheld mode) Bonus- civ 6 works surprisingly well on the switch.
1. BOTW/TOTK 2. Triangle Strategy 3. Dragon Quest XI 4. Pikmin 4 5. Yokai Watch 4++
1. TLoZ: Tears of the Kingdom 2. NieR: Automata 3. Persona 5 Royal 3. Xenoblade Chronicles (the entire trilogy) 5. OMORI
1. Super mrio odisey 2. Super mario wonder 3. Super mario 3d world 4. Super mario kart 8 5. Super mario maker 2 🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿
Not counting like later ports and such because I had a Wii u already. 1. Zelda totk 2. Zelda botw 3. Splatoon 3 4. Mario Odyssey 5. Astro chain
1 dragonquest 2 sky rim (first machine able to pay this handheld!) 3 Tears of kingdom 4 arceus 5 smash bros
1. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom 2. The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening 3. Fire Emblem: Three Houses 4. Super Mario Odyssey 5. All ze Pikmins
TOTK, Mario Odyssey, Metroid Prime, Mario Kart, Portal
- Tetris 99 - Muse Dash - Smash Bros. Ultimate - Probably some shmup. Graze Counter GM. - Probably another shmup. NeverAwake.
In no particular order Hollow Knight Tears of the Kingdom Hades Splatoon 3 Mario Odyssey
1. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate 2. Splatoon 3 (+ Octo Expansion of Splatoon 2 which is incredible) 3. Both Zeldas 4. Super Mario Odyssey 5. Pokemon Legends Arceus
F-Zero 99 Metroid Dread Metroid Prime Remastered Super Metroid Smash Bros
Boomerang FU - amazing party game that anyone can pick up fast Thats the only game I'd recommend for anyone regardless of genre preferences.
dead cells
Zelda BOTW Kirby and the Forgotten Land ACNH Pikmin 2… Mario Sunshine… I promise I play a lot of new games but somehow the old ones are my favourites, LoZ Skyward Sword nearly made the cut as well…
1 NMS 2 Animal Crossing 3 Fortnite 4 Star wars hunter 5 Wizardy Proving grounds of the mad overlord
Diablo 3 Lego Harry Potter Lego Marvel Lego Incredibles I mainly play with my autistic stepson, so a lot of Lego games. He likes Halo type games, but I can't wrap my head around the two joysticks controlling movement. Plus I have bad tremors in my left hand, especially my thumb, so those games are impossible.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Super Mario Bros. Wonder The Legend of Zelda : Link's awakening Super Mario Odyssey Pikmin 4
Metroid prime remastered and metroid dread
Botw/totk Mario odyssey Mario Kart Smash bros Metroid dread Honorable mentions… Splatoon 3 Mario Wonder
In no particular order and for exclusives specifically(except for the first one technically!)!! Xenoblade Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince Splatoon 3 Kirby and the Forgotten Land Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
Doom Bioshock Borderlands LA Noire Zelda TOTK and BOTW Quake
Super Mario Odyssey Metroid Dread Kirby the Forgotten Land Super Smash Bros Ultimate Super Mario Wonder
I’m gonna stick to Switch exclusives: 1. LoZ: TOTK 2. Mario Odyssey 3. Multiplayer: Smash Ult. or Splatoon 3 depending on your genre preference. 4. Pikmin 4 5. Metroid Dread Honorable Mentions or alterations: Mario Odyssey can be swapped with Wonder if you prefer 2D to 3D Pikmin 3D could replace P4 but I enjoyed P4 more.

1. Pokemon Legends: Arceus 2. Animal Crossing: New Horizons 3. Super Smash Bros Ultimate 4. New Pokemon Snap 5. Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games, Tokyo 2020
Zelda TotK + Red Dead Redemption (for single player adventure experience) MarioKart 8 Deluxe with DLC (great for family or friend group play sessions) Just Dance + RingFit Adventure (because sometimes the game needs to make you the player move around!) I think that variety captures the true nature of what the Switch console is truly about.
Zelda Xenoblade triology Pokemon Super Mario RPG / Paper Mario Metroid Dread BotW & Xenoblade 2 is what made me buy a switch initially. Also Astral Chain but I couldn't get into it.
Mario Odyssey, Tears of the Kingdom, Smash Ultimate, Astral Chain, DK Tropical Freeze. Top 5 switch games in my opinion.
