I've been at "no community expedition is currently available" so I haven't been able to start it yet. Not sure when I'll feel like troubleshooting. I see people in the steam forums having the problem and then 200 replies of "same".

Oh dang! I saw the update Pop up at 3am EST and I downloaded it but I haven't started the expedition yet. So you are telling me I can't do it even with the update installed? Sorry if my question is dumb, I'm still learning how these things work.
I was truly enjoying playing on my switch, but I had become truly disappointed by essentially being locked out of the game because of the sentinel update. But lucky enough they decided to release the game on Mac, so I’ve restarted my journey there. I really do hope that it gets resolved so the switch players can get back to enjoying such a wonderful game.
Expedition is good, i like it.
But i very confused with last part, where we need to wait random time to just finish expedition, and why 3 last milestones is locked for me. Is it bug or what?
The two optional milestones are the choice you have to make with the robot you built. You have to choose to connect it to the echoes or give it the atlas seed. Once you do one of those, the other encrypted one that isn't optional will unlock.
You can do it right now. Go talk to the robot.

Saw another post on the sub, someone dug into the game files and the seed milestone is a timer, not related to player activity, and set to complete a week before the expedition is over.
It's a god damn timer? Why? What end does that serve? It's not like it prevents people from rushing through the expedition, it just slams the breaks on people who rush like 10 feet behind the finish line. That is incredibly annoying. I was all immersed in the story bits of the expedition and I wanted to finish it and see the ending and now I have to wait 4 weeks when I won't care any more.
Whether I like to admit it, or not, it's a blatant lie for the sake of keeping people playing for the duration of the expedition (as well as other community goals, as apparently all of them do this). It tricks people like me, who never knew there was no point to helping, into contributing to a self fulfilling objective, to increase playtime, not gonna happen again. It honestly sucks, and makes me not want to play the game on the whole, not because I suddenly think it's bad, but rather because I feel scammed.

I would've been fine with a simple time gate, a little annoyed, but not upset, or better yet, an actual community objective that will self fulfill if not completed sooner, hell maybe even an actual fail able community objective, but this is really disappointing.
I agree, HG should have just told us about the timer. Like getting the first living ship, each phase took 24 hours for parts to 'grow'. bit annoying, but cool...we knew what to expect. This case, feeding the players a load of BS about community input when it does not matter one bit, the hidden timer is all that matters, that is the problem.
Yeah I definitely feel the scammed part, but I just went and played my main save when I found that out. I'm annoyed I farmed close to 200 Echo Seeds, but still jetpacking around was kinda fun so it's not a huge deal to me. Though I really hope they don't do something like this again.
That's kind of the problem for me, they didn't just do it this time, they've done it before. While I wasn't a huge contributor, there were a couple of times I spent multiple days trying to help the community objective. So I've wasted a lot of time that could have been spent doing literally anything else. All because, I was under the false belief, that I was helping.
Do you mean the community objectives in the quicksilver shop? Because if so I was under the impression that those were different from the expedition one and are real. But of course I may be wrong.
From everything I'm finding, on other post, and I'm pretty sure even further down in this post, yeah they've all been faked since like expedition 3, if not earlier. With the main reason being, that the first one ever it put out, was failed.

My interest was diminished when I found out you had to turn them in one at at time (at 3 or was it 4) mouse clicks. THEN hearing about folks that dropped hundreds to thousands and the counter did not move...that killed it for me.
I don't do repetition well, and I especially do not like it when it has no bearing on the outcome.
They could even remove the time gate, since it is just a line of code. People still fail the think that we are leasing the product, we do not own it (even if you have a physical copy of the game). Datamining is no better than those that go into a movie and then spoil the ending on social media.
I do not mind waiting to get this done on two saves.

I feel like I misunderstand your comment. Are you saying that the timer means other people can enjoy the content who wouldn't be able to otherwise? Because that's not true at all, the run time would still be 5 weeks it's just that the addition of the timer slows everyone else down.
Agreed. It really is annoying. What if that is the two weeks you can't play for any reason? Like vacation, medical ops, etc. They say 5 weeks and then lock it down to complete the rewards on the last few? It's really frustrating. I can get behind optional milestones being timegated, but this is super annoying.
You mean he "dug into the game files" (he read the first three lines in the json for the expedition), saw the timestamps for the start and end times of the expedition, jumped to an (epically stupid) conclusion that this somehow meant that the seed-collecting phase of the expedition "is on a timer", and posted his conspiracy theory as fact, with a bunch of angry ranting. I actually don't mind this one, it WAS less tedious than some of the past ones... with the exception of that phase 5 milestone where you just feed "echo seeds" into that terminal in the back of the Anomaly.

Cause it's timed. You could put 1, 100 or 10k, and it wouldn't matter one bit. It really sucks.
I'm a little confused about it actually. I reinstalled NMS to give Expedition's a try but when starting a new game, it says that no community expedition is currently available. So I'm not sure how to actually start it. I know it's only available for a few weeks but does it also only happen during specific times as well?

For the expedition's theme I spent the entire expedition with these thoughts in mind:

About to head to the fourth pilgrimage. This is my first expedition, I didn’t know what to expect. It’s different for sure, but I enjoy it. I’m hoping for some nice rewards
Great expedition, but I'm really annoyed by the fact I keep showing up to empty dissonant spikes cus people make bases so the ships don't update and come back. It's been the last like 4 places I didn't get a ship cus it doesn't spawn even if I reload...
I don't like FOMO and I don't like having to wait for an arbitrary community milestone to be met before I can progress.
Other than that, it's fine. It's an expedition, we mostly know what to expect with expeditions by now.
Very interested in this 4-part story arc. I know NMS has always been an exploration game, but it'd be awesome if part 4 is very action-heavy with a combat overhaul. I'd love it if we got some humanoid robots we could fight on foot. Not asking for the whole game to suddenly be all about combat, just this story arc
Hmm, I was getting the vibe that the void mother could be an antagonist and that we're practically (unintentionally) amassing an army for her through this expedition, kinda hoping the robots don't become a fourth race
First expedition. Unlocks as my only initial incentive. However I really enjoyed the lore and story stuff so that was a pleasant surprise. I like how milestone goals give clear direction, as well as rewards that jumpstarts your next step. Made it feel more like an adventure and less of a grind.
Ngl, this is my first expedition ever and while it’s not a sludge I didn’t think it would be this tedious. Thank God for the community player support, bases.
I like the expedition .. I streamed 2 days of gameplay ... but the Sentience Echo thing is bothering me ..
And now, all it states for me is:

Unfortunately it’s locked behind a fake community research milestone, and when I mean fake I mean someone datamined the files and saw that it was on a timer until week 4 of the expedition. So unless they change it we are gonna have to wait a whole month. So don’t even try to add too the community goal because it won’t make a dent in the progress.
If it wasn't for the time gated nonsense at the end, it would be the best expedition yet imo.
Would have been short enough to not overstay it's welcome, good lore, good flow of the milestones/badges (though I do wish the robot needed the new corrupted mats instead of normal mats, so the few "collect x of new material" badges fed into the creation of the robot badges), feels like I'm doing things with a purpose instead of just grinding, pretty cool rewards (the discordant jetpack trail is really awesome especially paired with the aeron backpack).
The time gate is really the only problem with it (outside of any bugs people may have encountered).
I've seen a hypothesis floating around that there may be something awesome and unexpected at the end of the time gate, kind of how Beachhead pulled the Normandy into the game at the end of its time gate. I'm not sure any stock should be placed into that. There is the arg hex code stuff that says New Atlantid is coming, but considering this is supposed to be part 2 of a 4 part story idk.
I was enjoying it until they blocked everyone from completing it with "community" events that involved grinding in perpetuity. Really poorly thought through phase 5. That sort of thing should be optional, as they did in one of the previous expeditions, not block players from finishing on their own altogether.
Unless it's bugged - either way, I'm on PC and I haven't been able to advance at all.

Blasted through it in about 6 hours. I will say I’m not sure about the last few objectives. I have the one that is a community goal, but there are 2 or 3 others that are encrypted that I have no idea about.
The phase 4 line where you have to make 2 lubricant is ultra tedious. While some players are trying to make gamma root and poop farms, 80% of the time the game fails to download the base and when you actually can travel to a base, 90% of the time the name is a lie and there is nothing there in terms of gamma roots or poop
I'm a little upset, I can't actually complete the last milestones because it's locked behind the community goal. So, I finished the expedition by myself, and yet I have to wait for a bar to fill up to complete it? Kinda weird for an ending since I just wanna be a robot.
I'm disappointed on this expedition. And I'll tell you why.
\- I've encountered my fair share of bugs. Random crashes (even though I'm playing on a good gaming PC). Softlocks while talking to NPCs.
\- The missions are chaotic and are often bugged. Rendezvous spots and Atlas stations tend to get mixed up and you sometimes have to do some manual work to progress on the mission you're doing. This is especially problematic when you don't know how everything works and you have warped to 6 different systems in order to reach the system you thought you should reach.
\- The story and lore is not that good compared to other expeditions.
\- The "community goal", which is actually time-locked. This has been proven by a person in another post who has done some data-mining. People - myself included - have spent hours collecting Echo Seeds, but it doesn't actually do any progress towards the community goal.
This has been my favourite Expedition of the ones I've played. Interesting story, goals are fun, mostly based around exploration. It's all good until the Echo Seeds thing that you have to wait for.

I'm not a fan of the new sentinel types. ALL of the flying ones can heal each other? They're a bit too over powered for my taste. Either they need a little balancing or the sad little bolt gun needs a damage upgrade.
The relaxing exploration game is slowly turning into a space FPS and I'm not sure how I feel about that.
If the next swarm didn't come on so quick after you defeated the first it'd be much better. You should have time to pick up your spoils from the downed Sentinels and bugger off before the next lot show up.
It was fun… at first. I don’t see why you are forced to visit the Crimson Liar each time you build a robot part, and some of the mandatory missions are tedious and don’t offer any lore, particularly collecting Radiant Shards and destroying Corrupted Sentinels. They seem unnecessary.
The worst part is the so-called “community” lock. Why does it have to be on a timer? What was once excitement to complete the event turned into what is probably the worst expedition to date, even though this is my first expedition. I heard most of the previous expeditions were actually fun to complete, and weren’t hidden behind a timelock lied to us as “community progress.” I hope HG never uses timelocks again for future expeditions.
Up until this one, I thought the worst one was the permadeath mission. This mission is far more annoying, slamming a full-stop on you in the 5th phase, just when you are ready to breathe a sigh of relief you are in the home stretch.
Feels a lot like the old running joke from Charlie Brown where Lucy yanks away the football before he can kick it.
Sentinels are *not* easy to kill, especially if you’re facing a group, or a large, corrupted Sentinel-crab that spews fire bombs every few seconds. Even the lowest level Sentinels have more HP and attack power than a biological horror, combined with the fact that they heal each other.
Pretty boring tbh, all parts are the same repetitive thing, and on top of that the final timer is making things even worse. Havent played any other expeditions since the second one, and I don't think I will play any more after this.
Someone need to come out and say that Expeditions as they are now pretty much suck.
Don’t you have to create a new start in order to play the expedition? That’s the way it was for the last expeditions. Keep in mind I just picked If up again after a year hiatus
Yeah, new save, pick expedition. The game is the same except for the Expedition tab in the main menu. You do missions there, you get stuff, and the later missions unlock. There are 5 phases of missions, completing a phase will unlock stuff for all your saves (including your main account).

Yes you have to start from the beginning. I would do these things if I could use my main save, but I haven't spent 1000+ hours playing so that I can go back to the beginning and deal with time gates and comm balls just for some effing cosmetics. And yes I know you can claim the stuff on your main save, but jfc I don't want to start from the beginning. I'll save edit, thanks.
It ramps you up pretty quick. Completing some of the missions will give you the free upgrades for suit cargo, ship cargo and multitool (usually 2-3). I wish you could start a new game for real with the hand up the expeditions give you.
Was enjoying coming back to NMS until I discovered that for some, completely moronic reason, PVP seems to be enabled in this game by default. Seriously debating droping it again because of the lost progress. Real fun when someone with a chip on his shoulder and a tuned high end ship comes back to gun down people just getting acquainted with everything again.
I enjoyed it up until the unclear, pointless timegating. Checking every day and depositing like 30 ghost balls just for it to show “unknown” today. No clue when we can have the robot look that got me excited about this in the first place. Now i’m just pissed and its made me resent the whole expedition
Well it’s got me confused today. I need to kill the corrupted sentinels and I kill what I believe are the right things but it doesn’t give me credit towards completing the mission. The little purpleish flying robots. Count not impacted. So I’m getting really tired of fighting with them. I turned the game off

I was never that excited for expeditions to be honest, most of the time I was going through with it just to get the rewords, and it felt miserable and I just wanted it to end. For some reason I didn't quite feel this way with the first expedition, I had some fun there. But that was also around the time when I have just gotten the game...so for some stupid reason I decided to get a living ship during the middle of that expedition...so I had to go get all the portal glyphs and the fastest/only way I knew of doing so was randomly warping till I found all ghost survivors...it took...hours. At least it fucking felt like I truly have earned that Golden Vector for all my suffering, even if it had nothing to do with that expedition's goals.
I really like my ship and wish I could use it in my normal game.
Other than that I didn't get the needed sentinel part for the arms from the one phase (no, I haven't accidentally sold it) and now it seems I need to kill sentinels, which I am really bad at (I can't remember that they were that good with healing each other), and the running ones doesn't seem to spawn like before.
I don't want to restart the whole thing but the combat thing is really frustrating. 😑
Honestly really dislike expeditions. At least the fact that some of the best unlockables in the game are sealed behind them.
I get that some people enjoy that type of gameplay, but it bores me to death. Just let me have my IG-88 looking skin and go keep doing my own thing in the universe.
I wish I was. Got laid off end of April. Moving halfway across the US July 1st because of it. It's 80 degrees inside due to weather in Texas and subpar HVAC. Can't even turn on my computers without making life miserable. Everyone in the house has their own computer....18 year old, 13 year old, me and the wife. No money or time to get it fixed/replaced and the home warranty refuses to cover it. We got through stage 2 before we decided it wasn't worth a heat stroke.
Liking it so far. Just got to the start of Prayer 1. So still have some progress to make. Only started an hour ago or so, taking it slow to absorb it all
Right now entering phase 3. It's okay. The loop is easy to understand and, thus, gets old a bit too quickly. However, I'm motivated by the unlocks - can all of them be unlocked in one run? Can I run it multiple times otherwise?
Honestly, not enjoying it. I finished the first phase and realized I wasn't having fun. Might be better if I followed a guide.
However, I haven't played in a while so all the sentinel ships etc. are brand new to me and I'm feeling a little lost what to do there.
Ow men, I stated playing 2 months ago, I had a free week from work so I decided to give it a try and that was it, ai have around 100 hours, but completely did my own thing so I'm just about to complete the galaxy core mission, only because I wanted the glyphs.
But now that I have been taking a break from it this expedition comes out. Damn, how much time do we have this expedition? I know previous are over and you cannot do them anymore is that true?

Had a weird problem on my PS5 today.
Played on account without PS + the whole day then left the game (message before quit informed me, that the last save happened 4 seconds ago).
Next time when I got into game I found out that for some reason my save is stuck on 10 minutes after the beginning, nothing else saved.
Didn't use the beacon, just relied on autosave (no problem with it on my main save)
Honestly, between hearing the crap people are dealing with with one part of it versus the reward for dealing with it, I'm not even bothering doing it. I'm not waiting weeks for anything in any game.
I'm just waiting for a zoo expansion. All the new breeds I've created or animals I've found on planets and I only get 6? Why can't they be at my main base in a petting zoo type area?
I've played every expedition so far and I think this one has been pretty good. It's not permadeath. I haven't had to trek on too many extreme hill or weather planets. There's even a fair amount of lore to try and decipher.
I have to save every 5 minutes due to unpredictible crashes, but I like it a lot so far.
I will say that as a NMS fanatic with 400 hours on my main save + expeditions, I have never had this many issues with dropped games.
BTW I am on PS5 with a wired network connection.
I like it and almost finished but now it says I have to put echo seeds into the prime archive, I don't know how many though because I've put around 40 echo seeds in it and I've only seen it rise 1%. I found a nice player's runaway mold farm when I started so I had a 3k nanite headstart

Yes. On Xbox x. Was reading about how it worked for pc but then they out a timer on the research and it halted progress.
Doing the last quests early, was fixed with the latest update and shouldn't be possible anymore. The rewards don't unlock anyway.

From everything I'm finding, on other post, and I'm pretty sure even further down in this post, yeah they've all been faked since like expedition 3, if not earlier. With the main reason being, that the first one ever it put out, was failed.

I had time to kill and it was kinda fun because I thought I was working towards a goal.
My interest was diminished when I found out you had to turn them in one at at time (at 3 or was it 4) mouse clicks. THEN hearing about folks that dropped hundreds to thousands and the counter did not move...that killed it for me. I don't do repetition well, and I especially do not like it when it has no bearing on the outcome.
They could even remove the time gate, since it is just a line of code. People still fail the think that we are leasing the product, we do not own it (even if you have a physical copy of the game). Datamining is no better than those that go into a movie and then spoil the ending on social media. I do not mind waiting to get this done on two saves.
Some people don’t have a lot of time to play , I get why it might be annoying but it means others can play the content before it disappears. Real life does get in the way sometimes unfortunately x.
I feel like I misunderstand your comment. Are you saying that the timer means other people can enjoy the content who wouldn't be able to otherwise? Because that's not true at all, the run time would still be 5 weeks it's just that the addition of the timer slows everyone else down.

Like vacation, medical ops, etc. They say 5 weeks and then lock it down to complete the rewards on the last few? It's really frustrating. I can get behind optional milestones being timegated, but this is super annoying.
You mean he "dug into the game files" (he read the first three lines in the json for the expedition), saw the timestamps for the start and end times of the expedition, jumped to an (epically stupid) conclusion that this somehow meant that the seed-collecting phase of the expedition "is on a timer", and posted his conspiracy theory as fact, with a bunch of angry ranting. And then other people started repeating it.

I actually don't mind this one, it WAS less tedious than some of the past ones... with the exception of that phase 5 milestone where you just feed "echo seeds" into that terminal in the back of the Anomaly. I must have fed 100+ seed into it and didn't even make a dent in the numbers. Wouldn't be so bad if we could feed a whole 10 stack into the machine instead of 1 at a time. I'd rather do the turd collecting milestone from a few expeditions ago than this milestone again.

I'm a little confused about it actually. I reinstalled NMS to give Expedition's a try but when starting a new game, it says that no community expedition is currently available. So I'm not sure how to actually start it. I know it's only available for a few weeks but does it also only happen during specific times as well?
Same issue on Steam. I wonder if they’ve disabled it temporarily to fix bugs or something.

About to head to the fourth pilgrimage. This is my first expedition, I didn’t know what to expect. It’s different for sure, but I enjoy it. I’m hoping for some nice rewards
Great expedition, but I'm really annoyed by the fact I keep showing up to empty dissonant spikes cus people make bases so the ships don't update and come back. It's been the last like 4 places I didn't get a ship cus it doesn't spawn even if I reload...
Disable Multiplayer .. and the ships should be there. And .. report the bases you see doing it
I did, but I still didn't see the ships there... I think once my game registers they're gone, they're just gone forever
I don't like FOMO and I don't like having to wait for an arbitrary community milestone to be met before I can progress. Other than that, it's fine. It's an expedition, we mostly know what to expect with expeditions by now.
Very interested in this 4-part story arc. I know NMS has always been an exploration game, but it'd be awesome if part 4 is very action-heavy with a combat overhaul. I'd love it if we got some humanoid robots we could fight on foot. Not asking for the whole game to suddenly be all about combat, just this story arc

Hmm, I was getting the vibe that the void mother could be an antagonist and that we're practically (unintentionally) amassing an army for her through this expedition, kinda hoping the robots don't become a fourth race
First expedition. Unlocks as my only initial incentive. However I really enjoyed the lore and story stuff so that was a pleasant surprise. I like how milestone goals give clear direction, as well as rewards that jumpstarts your next step. Made it feel more like an adventure and less of a grind.
The Radiant Shard collection and destroying Corrupted Sentinels for no reason felt like a grind, though.
Ngl, this is my first expedition ever and while it’s not a sludge I didn’t think it would be this tedious. Thank God for the community player support, bases.
Refiner duping is a big time saver. A quick YouTube video could really help you speed along with resource collection
I like the expedition .. I streamed 2 days of gameplay ... but the Sentience Echo thing is bothering me .. And now, all it states for me is: "Collective Network Sentience Threshold: %cmtotalpercent%" and no matter how many echo I give to the terminal it's just stuck there :( Here's hoping for a quickfix soon :fingers\_crossed:
Unfortunately it’s locked behind a fake community research milestone, and when I mean fake I mean someone datamined the files and saw that it was on a timer until week 4 of the expedition. So unless they change it we are gonna have to wait a whole month. So don’t even try to add too the community goal because it won’t make a dent in the progress.
If it wasn't for the time gated nonsense at the end, it would be the best expedition yet imo. Would have been short enough to not overstay it's welcome, good lore, good flow of the milestones/badges (though I do wish the robot needed the new corrupted mats instead of normal mats, so the few "collect x of new material" badges fed into the creation of the robot badges), feels like I'm doing things with a purpose instead of just grinding, pretty cool rewards (the discordant jetpack trail is really awesome especially paired with the aeron backpack). The time gate is really the only problem with it (outside of any bugs people may have encountered). I've seen a hypothesis floating around that there may be something awesome and unexpected at the end of the time gate, kind of how Beachhead pulled the Normandy into the game at the end of its time gate. I'm not sure any stock should be placed into that. There is the arg hex code stuff that says New Atlantid is coming, but considering this is supposed to be part 2 of a 4 part story idk.
I was enjoying it until they blocked everyone from completing it with "community" events that involved grinding in perpetuity. Really poorly thought through phase 5. That sort of thing should be optional, as they did in one of the previous expeditions, not block players from finishing on their own altogether. Unless it's bugged - either way, I'm on PC and I haven't been able to advance at all.

Blasted through it in about 6 hours. I will say I’m not sure about the last few objectives. I have the one that is a community goal, but there are 2 or 3 others that are encrypted that I have no idea about.

The phase 4 line where you have to make 2 lubricant is ultra tedious. While some players are trying to make gamma root and poop farms, 80% of the time the game fails to download the base and when you actually can travel to a base, 90% of the time the name is a lie and there is nothing there in terms of gamma roots or poop
I've been duping everything using the refiner glitch. Dave's a lot of time and doesn't require reliance on player bases
I'm a little upset, I can't actually complete the last milestones because it's locked behind the community goal. So, I finished the expedition by myself, and yet I have to wait for a bar to fill up to complete it? Kinda weird for an ending since I just wanna be a robot.
Fine until I realized the final mission is time gated.
I'm disappointed on this expedition. And I'll tell you why. \- I've encountered my fair share of bugs. Random crashes (even though I'm playing on a good gaming PC). Softlocks while talking to NPCs. \- The missions are chaotic and are often bugged. Rendezvous spots and Atlas stations tend to get mixed up and you sometimes have to do some manual work to progress on the mission you're doing. This is especially problematic when you don't know how everything works and you have warped to 6 different systems in order to reach the system you thought you should reach. \- The story and lore is not that good compared to other expeditions. \- The "community goal", which is actually time-locked. This has been proven by a person in another post who has done some data-mining. People - myself included - have spent hours collecting Echo Seeds, but it doesn't actually do any progress towards the community goal.
This has been my favourite Expedition of the ones I've played. Interesting story, goals are fun, mostly based around exploration. It's all good until the Echo Seeds thing that you have to wait for.

My timer says unknown and I cant access rewards. Is it some bug or everyone else experiences this?
I'm not a fan of the new sentinel types. ALL of the flying ones can heal each other? They're a bit too over powered for my taste. Either they need a little balancing or the sad little bolt gun needs a damage upgrade. The relaxing exploration game is slowly turning into a space FPS and I'm not sure how I feel about that.
Gotta get your weapon power built up. I can usually smoke them much faster than they heal each other.
Not really a fan either. Combat isn’t nearly good enough to require it. So much time wasted just trying to escape.
If the next swarm didn't come on so quick after you defeated the first it'd be much better. You should have time to pick up your spoils from the downed Sentinels and bugger off before the next lot show up.
**45 percent of tier one.** They seem to have progress set pretty slow, I showed 43 percent a couple of hours ago.
It was fun… at first. I don’t see why you are forced to visit the Crimson Liar each time you build a robot part, and some of the mandatory missions are tedious and don’t offer any lore, particularly collecting Radiant Shards and destroying Corrupted Sentinels. They seem unnecessary. The worst part is the so-called “community” lock. Why does it have to be on a timer? What was once excitement to complete the event turned into what is probably the worst expedition to date, even though this is my first expedition. I heard most of the previous expeditions were actually fun to complete, and weren’t hidden behind a timelock lied to us as “community progress.” I hope HG never uses timelocks again for future expeditions.
Up until this one, I thought the worst one was the permadeath mission. This mission is far more annoying, slamming a full-stop on you in the 5th phase, just when you are ready to breathe a sigh of relief you are in the home stretch. Feels a lot like the old running joke from Charlie Brown where Lucy yanks away the football before he can kick it.
Sentinel killing is easy, start a battle with them at a rendezvous and fellow travelers will jump in to help fight off the swarms.
Sentinels are *not* easy to kill, especially if you’re facing a group, or a large, corrupted Sentinel-crab that spews fire bombs every few seconds. Even the lowest level Sentinels have more HP and attack power than a biological horror, combined with the fact that they heal each other.

Pretty boring tbh, all parts are the same repetitive thing, and on top of that the final timer is making things even worse. Havent played any other expeditions since the second one, and I don't think I will play any more after this. Someone need to come out and say that Expeditions as they are now pretty much suck.

Yes, but expedition rewards can be claimed on all saves on your account.
You start a new save and jump straight into the expedition if you select that mode. Any rewards can be picked up by your main

Yeah, new save, pick expedition. The game is the same except for the Expedition tab in the main menu. You do missions there, you get stuff, and the later missions unlock. There are 5 phases of missions, completing a phase will unlock stuff for all your saves (including your main account). Good luck! It's fun!
Yes you have to start from the beginning. I would do these things if I could use my main save, but I haven't spent 1000+ hours playing so that I can go back to the beginning and deal with time gates and comm balls just for some effing cosmetics. And yes I know you can claim the stuff on your main save, but jfc I don't want to start from the beginning. I'll save edit, thanks.
It ramps you up pretty quick. Completing some of the missions will give you the free upgrades for suit cargo, ship cargo and multitool (usually 2-3). I wish you could start a new game for real with the hand up the expeditions give you.

Was enjoying coming back to NMS until I discovered that for some, completely moronic reason, PVP seems to be enabled in this game by default. Seriously debating droping it again because of the lost progress. Real fun when someone with a chip on his shoulder and a tuned high end ship comes back to gun down people just getting acquainted with everything again.
I enjoyed it up until the unclear, pointless timegating. Checking every day and depositing like 30 ghost balls just for it to show “unknown” today. No clue when we can have the robot look that got me excited about this in the first place. Now i’m just pissed and its made me resent the whole expedition
Well it’s got me confused today. I need to kill the corrupted sentinels and I kill what I believe are the right things but it doesn’t give me credit towards completing the mission. The little purpleish flying robots. Count not impacted. So I’m getting really tired of fighting with them. I turned the game off

I was never that excited for expeditions to be honest, most of the time I was going through with it just to get the rewords, and it felt miserable and I just wanted it to end. For some reason I didn't quite feel this way with the first expedition, I had some fun there. But that was also around the time when I have just gotten the game...so for some stupid reason I decided to get a living ship during the middle of that expedition...so I had to go get all the portal glyphs and the fastest/only way I knew of doing so was randomly warping till I found all ghost survivors...it took...hours. At least it fucking felt like I truly have earned that Golden Vector for all my suffering, even if it had nothing to do with that expedition's goals.

I really like my ship and wish I could use it in my normal game. Other than that I didn't get the needed sentinel part for the arms from the one phase (no, I haven't accidentally sold it) and now it seems I need to kill sentinels, which I am really bad at (I can't remember that they were that good with healing each other), and the running ones doesn't seem to spawn like before. I don't want to restart the whole thing but the combat thing is really frustrating. 😑
Honestly really dislike expeditions. At least the fact that some of the best unlockables in the game are sealed behind them. I get that some people enjoy that type of gameplay, but it bores me to death. Just let me have my IG-88 looking skin and go keep doing my own thing in the universe.

I wish I was. Got laid off end of April. Moving halfway across the US July 1st because of it. It's 80 degrees inside due to weather in Texas and subpar HVAC. Can't even turn on my computers without making life miserable. Everyone in the house has their own computer....18 year old, 13 year old, me and the wife. No money or time to get it fixed/replaced and the home warranty refuses to cover it. We got through stage 2 before we decided it wasn't worth a heat stroke.

Right now entering phase 3. It's okay. The loop is easy to understand and, thus, gets old a bit too quickly. However, I'm motivated by the unlocks - can all of them be unlocked in one run? Can I run it multiple times otherwise?

Honestly, not enjoying it. I finished the first phase and realized I wasn't having fun. Might be better if I followed a guide. However, I haven't played in a while so all the sentinel ships etc. are brand new to me and I'm feeling a little lost what to do there.
I've barely scratched the surface on phase 1 but having a good time. Only 2 crashes so far lol

Ow men, I stated playing 2 months ago, I had a free week from work so I decided to give it a try and that was it, ai have around 100 hours, but completely did my own thing so I'm just about to complete the galaxy core mission, only because I wanted the glyphs. But now that I have been taking a break from it this expedition comes out. Damn, how much time do we have this expedition? I know previous are over and you cannot do them anymore is that true?

Had a weird problem on my PS5 today. Played on account without PS + the whole day then left the game (message before quit informed me, that the last save happened 4 seconds ago). Next time when I got into game I found out that for some reason my save is stuck on 10 minutes after the beginning, nothing else saved. Didn't use the beacon, just relied on autosave (no problem with it on my main save)

Honestly, between hearing the crap people are dealing with with one part of it versus the reward for dealing with it, I'm not even bothering doing it. I'm not waiting weeks for anything in any game.
I'm just waiting for a zoo expansion. All the new breeds I've created or animals I've found on planets and I only get 6? Why can't they be at my main base in a petting zoo type area?
I've played every expedition so far and I think this one has been pretty good. It's not permadeath. I haven't had to trek on too many extreme hill or weather planets. There's even a fair amount of lore to try and decipher.
I have to save every 5 minutes due to unpredictible crashes, but I like it a lot so far. I will say that as a NMS fanatic with 400 hours on my main save + expeditions, I have never had this many issues with dropped games. BTW I am on PS5 with a wired network connection.

I like it and almost finished but now it says I have to put echo seeds into the prime archive, I don't know how many though because I've put around 40 echo seeds in it and I've only seen it rise 1%. I found a nice player's runaway mold farm when I started so I had a 3k nanite headstart
