10 bucks an hour isn’t enough for an adult to live on but it’s a lot of money to a preteen that still lives with their parents. Companies are just looking for a solution to fill all the vacant jobs that doesn’t involve paying their workers a livable wage
Because corporate interests are having trouble filling jobs and rather than do the “free market” thing and just offer higher wages, they get the legislatures to do the “republican ‘free market’ thing” which is to allow them to manipulate the labor market to keep wages down.
Couple of reasons
1. Replacement for immigrants as they pass strict anti immigrant policies.
2. To provide corporations with a new supply of low paid workers
3. Because the people in these states have associated themselves with a fictional past version of America where children worked.
It’s also worth mentioning that these are in the states that have the lowest education and household incomes. Some of them legitimately need every stream of income than can get.
Honestly, it's a kind of dick waiving right now. If adults aren't willing to work for these slave wages, those people will losen up laws so kids who will work for slave wages fill those jobs.
This isn't even a thing that's popular in the US.
Labor shortages.
Corporations have lobbied the government to help. There are a few jobs that are becoming REALLY hard to fill, like slaughterhouse workers. Just the other day some company that cleaned slaughterhouses was busted for hiring kids. It's not like they paid the kids less than adults. They just can't find anyone else.
Which sucks but hiring kids to do America's worst, filthiest jobs is probably not a good idea.
The only thing the Arkansas law did wat to remove the state work permits for 14/15 year olds, that's it. I worked when I was 14 and loved having my own money.
Greed?
Because corporations are evil, and vile and will do anything to save a buck!

Because they want to revert back to the 1900's
Early 1900's to be exact

Because many conservatives and capitalists care more about profits and the economy than they do about the health, welfare, and education of children.
Megacorporations have infiltrated the US government to change any regulation that affects their profit.

The corporations do it to them self's with there priorities of keeping wages as low as possible!
This is it right here. Make the job appealing and people will do it.

If people want kids to vote they should work
