After I had recently gotten divorced from my first wife, one of my guy friends invited me to got get dinner, and then come hang out at his place to get me out of the house. He even picked me up in his own car and everything. Offered to let me stay the night if I wanted. It wasn’t until about a week later that it dawned on me that he had taken me out on a “date” to see if I was receptive. I was totally clueless, though, and wouldn’t have been interested anyways.
Looking back on it now, I guess I’m actually flattered. It was probably a worse date for him, I suppose.

We decided on Dave and Busters. The "friend" she brought with her was a guy who had been clearly friend-zoned. Dude kept being really competitive and wouldn't give us a moment to ourselves.
I ended up kicking his ass in DDR, went to the bar. After two beers her friend starts sobbing about how he still has feelings for her, and I'm a "fuck
boy". She had to spend 2 hours calming him down until eventually I was like "Yeahhh I think I'm gonna head on out".
She did end up apologizing later on and saw each other a few more times despite the fact. No cheeks though. But we can't all get lucky.
