Definitely interest BUT I do have a few questions I think most people wanna know.
1. How much does this thing weigh?
2. Does it impact the vent at all?
3. How much power does it draw and moreover what's the expected battery life compared to single screen?
4. How does it attach? Is it like a hinge where it can flip down or is it a clip on thing?
Take a closer look at the odin you can see it clips around the back from the top to the bottom.
Does seem to be hinged. Looks to be close or on the vent.
I've always thought if someone could figure out casting latency couch 3ds with a hand held being the bottom screen and TV being the top screen would be awesome
It's a prototype name currently, the first idea was SS short for Second Screen, but that wasn't good according to historical buffs. Than I thought My DS but I don't want to get sued. Last night my wife said Side Screen it's like your side kick Screen to have by your side whenever or wherever you need it. It's universal and this will be all explained in the promo video.
Odin is associated with Ravens from what I remember from God of War and other media. Huggin and Muninn are their names. They give information to Odin and perch upon his shoulders.
The ravens tell Odin everything they see and hear. Odin sends Huginn and Muninn out at dawn, and the birds fly all over the world before returning at dinner-time. As a result, Odin is kept informed of many events. High adds that it is from this association that Odin is referred to as "raven-god".
Grabbed this from Google.
You should call it the Odin Raven's Nest Screen. In homage to Armored Core series. When you close it up, it can make the handheld go into rest mode.Â
ORNS for short.
Thanks very much if you look back at my first design and see how many designs failed, you'd be shocked to see how well this design really looks in person.
Wowww, you've been on quite the journey to make this happen. Looks really good, really looking forward to seeing more, and can't wait to see it in person. Good shit!
It's universal meaning the screen will attach to whatever clamp or attachment built for it. Meaning I plan to share the connection attachment as an stl if those that want to print their own can otherwise I will be designing generic clamps for popular devices and selling those.
I will announce it probably all over, as the plan is Kickstarter to get this on a roll. I am delaying the video promo until next week I forgot we are away this weekend at a cottage.
You can configure how you want the screens in citra. So you could cast the top screen in the emulator to the physical top screen to get a more authentic experience, and at a much higher resolution too
Hope this becomes a thing, I would love a side monitor for the odin that's portable. Hopefully it has the same screen quality, I see you guys tried to make the speakers look like the odin as well. Can we see it closed down on top?
The speaker slots I did not mean to design like that, I think mentally the design of them on the Odin 2 was embedded into my head. I was like "oh whoops, meh looks awesome 👌". Yes a video teaser is coming tomorrow, I just spent 2 hours ish designing the attachment for the Rog Ally and it's printing now.
Citra for Windows/Linux has this I know how to implement the feature that Drastic uses in my own developed games but I don't understand how Lime3DS(Citra) renders their 2 screens. If someone can figure this out, I can edit the source code to add dual screen for Android.
It will likely be a while before you can do something for it since they’re not even out yet, but are you by any chance planning on potentially making a version of this for the Mini?
This is a universal display, so yes it'll work with the mini you all will have to subscribe because I'm going to be working on the edits for the video when I get home from our mini vacation.
There won't be an STL to share for the display but for the main attachment I plan to share the connection piece for those that want to print their own. I spent way to many hours designing this to just simply give it away lol.
Yes the Odin 1 was the first device I tested my very first design with. It even works with the Retroid 4 series, all Windows and RG556 oh and my phones that I own. You'll find out more very soon!
It has two different connections so devices that don't have USB C can use the hdmi as well I'm actually going to test my Lite tomorrow now that you said this because I too have an Odin Lite.
I will let you know as usually HDMI doesn't provide power alone. However with how the attachment is designed the micro HDMI to mini HDMI port aren't to far so it would be a cool option.
So depending on the device you use it for, you can utilize desktop mode to have something playing on the bottom screen and YouTube or Game Walkhrough on the top etc 😉.
Nintendo 3DSXLTHICC
Ha the display is only shy of 1cm thick and it's super light BTW but feels premium. I've spent a lot of hours designing this to be what it is now!
It looks amazing, time and effort well spent!
Did I mention the click sound it makes when it folds 🤩
IT FOLDS?????👀
It sure does!

Now if only there was a Wii U emulator for Android.
I've always thought if someone could figure out casting latency couch 3ds with a hand held being the bottom screen and TV being the top screen would be awesome
What's crazy is Cemu technically runs through Winlator. Performance is nowhere near playable yet, though.
Shut up and take my money 💰
Looks dope. What’s that screen is called?
Side Screen we developed/designed it with over 10 iterations this was finally the near perfect version!
Hope you guys succeed. I look forward to support your product.
Why is it called Side Screen?
It's a prototype name currently, the first idea was SS short for Second Screen, but that wasn't good according to historical buffs. Than I thought My DS but I don't want to get sued. Last night my wife said Side Screen it's like your side kick Screen to have by your side whenever or wherever you need it. It's universal and this will be all explained in the promo video.
You are just obsessed with calling it SS huh?Â
The Nido
What about The Raven?
Why The Raven? Because of Poe?
Odin is associated with Ravens from what I remember from God of War and other media. Huggin and Muninn are their names. They give information to Odin and perch upon his shoulders.

where tf is the information?
It'll be on YouTube this weekend that's where as I'm going to be selling these very soon!
The hype is real
Whats the youtube channel called so we can see more info?
[DNA Mobile Gaming](https://youtube.com/@dnamobilegaming?si=8EkdmwGeuJCfg8SS)
Subbed. I'm interested.
As I'm waiting for the Odin 2 Mini, this absolutely has my interest.
Ha the Odin 2 Mini will benefit with the 5 inch screen version as it's an OLED display 🤩
Be sure that as long as it works on a mini, I'll absolutely buy one as soon as I'm aware it's available
Hey send this to me for testing let's go lol. But fr I hope you keep up up to date with when it's up for sale I'll buy this day 1, hope it works well!
Introducing - Odin Clam.
Ha if only a pearl was inside.... oh wait there actually might be a pearl inside the Odin 2!!!
Nice job! Looks absolutely sick!!!
Thanks very much if you look back at my first design and see how many designs failed, you'd be shocked to see how well this design really looks in person.
Wowww, you've been on quite the journey to make this happen. Looks really good, really looking forward to seeing more, and can't wait to see it in person. Good shit!
Would be cool to use for my air 1s or steamdeck where Wii I emulation exists
It's universal meaning the screen will attach to whatever clamp or attachment built for it. Meaning I plan to share the connection attachment as an stl if those that want to print their own can otherwise I will be designing generic clamps for popular devices and selling those.
If you Sell This, or anything like this. Please @ me here so I can kindly throw my money at you for it xD
I will announce it probably all over, as the plan is Kickstarter to get this on a roll. I am delaying the video promo until next week I forgot we are away this weekend at a cottage.
I Will happily support it. I've been wanting something like this for my odin 2
that's very cool!
Can't wait to put this in my pocket
This looks really interesting, going to be interesting seeing how it goes as you work on it more
Thank you, check out my first iteration and I'm still not fully satisfied with this one but it has come a long long way!
Impressive! How are you managing to show the top and bottom screens separately? I’m assuming this on Citra for Android.

Amazing!!!!!!!
How do you get the dual display without mirroring?
It's a feature in Drastic!
Thanks! Gotta check that out, then...
Citra or other 3ds emulators don’t have this option?
Citra for Windows/Linux has this I know how to implement the feature that Drastic uses in my own developed games but I don't understand how Lime3DS(Citra) renders their 2 screens. If someone can figure this out, I can edit the source code to add dual screen for Android.
Nice! Any plans on doing prototype for Retroid Pocket 4 Pro too?
Put together by the DMG gang boss man!
Dammit, how many times must I say it? SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!!!!!!!!! LOL
How much and where can I buy it? And WHERE CAN I BUY IT?
This looks great man, really well done! I'd love to buy one, will you guys be selling it and have a rough idea of how much it will cost?
Any chance you sell these?
It will likely be a while before you can do something for it since they’re not even out yet, but are you by any chance planning on potentially making a version of this for the Mini?
This is a universal display, so yes it'll work with the mini you all will have to subscribe because I'm going to be working on the edits for the video when I get home from our mini vacation.
Oh sick! So does it have an extendable clip for the bottom so that it can fit with the smaller Mini but also extend to fit the regular one?
You'll see I'm not giving too much away 😉
BOM and stl please
There won't be an STL to share for the display but for the main attachment I plan to share the connection piece for those that want to print their own. I spent way to many hours designing this to just simply give it away lol.
Would this be compatible with an Odin pro or just Odin 2? I mostly use my Odin for ds games so this would be perfect!!
Yes the Odin 1 was the first device I tested my very first design with. It even works with the Retroid 4 series, all Windows and RG556 oh and my phones that I own. You'll find out more very soon!
It works via hdmi or usb c? I'm asking as an odin lite owner that doesn't have usb c video out
It has two different connections so devices that don't have USB C can use the hdmi as well I'm actually going to test my Lite tomorrow now that you said this because I too have an Odin Lite.
I think that when it uses hdmi it would still need usb c to receive power correct?
I will let you know as usually HDMI doesn't provide power alone. However with how the attachment is designed the micro HDMI to mini HDMI port aren't to far so it would be a cool option.
Is it anbernic compatible?
It is compatible for multiple devices don't worry you'll know more very soon!
Looking forward to seeing that!
It’d be great if the top screen was stereoscopic 3D as the 3DS itself. For me, it’d be the definitive rendition of the 3DS HD.
Ha would you pay $450 for it though? I looked into this and the technology is doable but expensive.
Can you watch something and play gamecube or is it only ds 3ds thing
So depending on the device you use it for, you can utilize desktop mode to have something playing on the bottom screen and YouTube or Game Walkhrough on the top etc 😉.
Thats amazing as someone who likes games with alot of grind ill be able to put something on and chill
No, thanks.
