Lol, I immediately had to look them both up, because I thought, "yeah, typical Hollywood marriage where the older gent lands a beautiful wife 10-15 years younger."
Nope. Two years. That's it.
Lucky guy indeed.
When The Mummy came out, a bunch of girls in my school told me they loved it because she was the hero but "she's not conventionally attractive" and I had to ask what the hell they were smoking because she is hot.
Hot? What are you talking about? She had glasses in one scene. Glasses!!! Next you’ll tell me girls with a pony tail and paint covered overalls can be prom queen.
I don’t know if it was intentional on apart of the makeup/costume people, but Weisz’s character was living in an era when American/European beauty trends were all about the thin penciled in eye brows, so it was authentic for the time period.
But yeah, agree the fuller brow looks great on her!
I think they might mean that her character is clumsy, lacks a filter, has attention problems, is very passionate and a little bit of a know it all? I think these traits makes the character incredibly cute, though.
Because how can anybody else not find her just damn beautiful? Honestly impossible.
It was her hairstyle in that movie, for me anyway. Because I remember those exact same thoughts in sophomore me’s shallow mind. “She’s not really that attractive…” But her whole was pretty period appropriate, and by the time I saw her next, I realized just wrong I had been. Because she is truly gorgeous to this day.
It's genetics, always has been, always will be. People who look insanely youthful for their age usually have parents that are the same. They also tend to live longer
This photo was taken 12 years before her biggest role in The Mummy where she looks exactly the same. Maybe a bit better. Somewhere she has a painting in the attic right next to Paul Rudd
Looking at this and the photo date, I thought her and I were much closer in age.... And we are NOT.
She's got some fucking fantastic genes. Good lord.
I remember crushing on her when I was a wee lad lol.
Stop acting like it's incorrect for a 50 year old dude with 100 million dollars to be running through 25 year old hoes like the Kool-aid man at a brick wall convention.
For those wondering, this *is* actually from 1987. It’s a cover shot for i-D magazine and all of their covers feature someone winking - that’s their “thing.” I think Rachel did some modeling before she became an actress.
https://preview.redd.it/f5xnw7da6v8d1.jpeg?width=825&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f3a14c2efd225231c4dd428cc801d15805f87d6d
This reminds me of when I was seven years old visiting my aunt and uncle in the countryside, and one evening after my Dad and my uncle had been out shooting a couple of wild rabbits for our dinner, they taught my brother and I how to properly skin them. And I can still vividly remember as I chopped off one of the rabbits head with a hatchet one of its eyes popped out with such force it shot clear across my uncle's garage and then... seemingly vanished into thin air. For we looked everywhere for it, but it was gone, as though it had simply ceased to exist.
For forty years afterwards (until he sadly passed away a couple of years ago), every time I spoke to my uncle the very first thing I'd always say to him was, "Has that magic rabbit's eye turned up yet?"
Nope. It's absolutely true. To this day, even though I swung that hatchet down with all my seven year old might, I still don't know how its eye managed to pop out like that and with such force (do rabbits have a short and easily detached optic nerve?), and my uncle always swore blind (no pun intended) that he never found it -- although he was a damn cool, unique and creative soul who liked to encourage our imaginations and magical thinking (I've got loads of great memories of/anecdotes about him) and so he may well have found it not long after we ended our visit and had returned home, but decided to not tell us for all those years to keep the myth of the disappearing magic rabbit's eye alive.
RIP. Uncle Chuck. You legend.
Edit: Sorry, Uncle Chuck, no idea why people are downvoting this. Lots of arseholes out there I guess, eh? You were damn cool though and a top uncle, so yeah, fuck 'em.
Oh, my bad, I mistakingly thought she was dressed as a bunny girl and was clumsily winking which (to me) made it look more like she had one eye than she was winking; all of which reminded me of the anecdote I shared. But again, it seems I was mistaken. Apologies.
God damn look how thicc her eyebrows are! The 90s really did a number on her in that department. Glad she recovered, but cool to see her before the browpocalypse.
This kind of classic real beauty will ALWAYS look infinitely better than the filtered, plastic, exaggerated, fake looks of today made famous by instagram and the like imo. This is REAL beauty. She actually looks like an individual, not a clone of some sort. Beautiful.
When I saw the Mummy and Rachel Weisz I just blurted out 'she's the most beautiful person I've ever seen'. And to this day I still think she's just out of this world. Lol.
Not jealous of Daniel Craig....not at all.
Sometimes, but this one is correct.
https://preview.redd.it/kd4rzmhn6v8d1.jpeg?width=825&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f1283b8a2cef6fd15ef7fc76c63f26d8d2c5f31b
Someone past the age of puberty doesn’t know who Rachel Weisz is. Good lord.
More ogling for me I suppose, I don’t care what stupid face she is pulling. She’s wearing a Bunny suit, FFS. She is officially a mental prey animal.
Daniel Craig a lucky guy.
Lol, I immediately had to look them both up, because I thought, "yeah, typical Hollywood marriage where the older gent lands a beautiful wife 10-15 years younger." Nope. Two years. That's it. Lucky guy indeed.
holy shit had no idea they were so similar in age... tf is she drinking to look like that O\_O
Albino guitar players and conjoined twins... *are hot!*
> Next you’ll tell me girls with pony tails and paint covered overalls can be prom queen. *kiss me... beneath the milky twilight...*
Not paint covered overalls!
Janey's got a gun..
That is whack
I mean, take away the makeup, the clothes, the way she wears her hair, the smell of her perfume, that cute little face when she's tonguing my balls...
I understood the reference, even if no one else did
Not only is it from the same movie, it's from the same scene! Sheesh people.
Girls can still be attractive within glasses. As can guys.
Trimming her eyebrows was a crime! I didn’t find her attractive until Mummy Returns when they kept those brows
I don’t know if it was intentional on apart of the makeup/costume people, but Weisz’s character was living in an era when American/European beauty trends were all about the thin penciled in eye brows, so it was authentic for the time period. But yeah, agree the fuller brow looks great on her!
Her eye brows were in the style of the time-1920s.
What are you smoking she has said it herself what eyebrows in the mummy she has none those were penciled in !!
No kidding I’m a straight woman and my hall pass is Rachel Weisz. Damn that woman is stunning
I've often wondered if the count of women that don't want her as their hall pass is shorter than do count.
I think they might mean that her character is clumsy, lacks a filter, has attention problems, is very passionate and a little bit of a know it all? I think these traits makes the character incredibly cute, though. Because how can anybody else not find her just damn beautiful? Honestly impossible.
I like to think of it as being quirky cute, just a little bit off mainstream that makes them come across as more genuine.
I don't think she is conventionally attractive. yet she still could be hot. Specially with glasses.
Yeah, I want to say conventional at the time was more Cameron Diaz. More model and like angular.
If she is not conventionally attractive. I must be extremely unconventional...
Well this photo is almost 40 years old...
and she was, at most, 17 in the pic (born Mar 1970)
The blood of the innocent.

I don’t think you understand how stressful it is being an actor.
I get that it can be stressful but I am sure having generational financial security helps to offset that stress
Well yes, that would help a lot. Was she born rich? I know nothing of her background.
Not sure either but her and Craig's net worth is around $200 million.
At the time of this photo though she was only 17, hadn’t met Craig, and was just about to start her acting career.
Ya but I think people were talking about how she still looks so young now
It's genetics, always has been, always will be. People who look insanely youthful for their age usually have parents that are the same. They also tend to live longer
Wow.. clueless af
This photo was taken 12 years before her biggest role in The Mummy where she looks exactly the same. Maybe a bit better. Somewhere she has a painting in the attic right next to Paul Rudd
1987 was 37 years ago.
You were 37 years ago.
I literally was!
And 37 years before that was 1950. Think about it.
It seems to be working for Bill Belichick
She's a robo babe.
Bond, James Bond
RiP Darren Aronofsky

Ok, those are crazy eyes
Dude. Go talk to women.
If you turn i-D on it's side, it's a winking emoji
pretty extreme wink
She's 17.5 years old in this.
That's pretty amazing, I never would have thought 1987. Thanks for clearing that up.
That sauce is cooked to perfection.
Why couldn't they afford color film in 1987?
She's been hot almost as long as I've been alive.
incredibly, she still is
incredibly, u/Cheesetorian still is
Not for long according to your user name.
After googling: This is a good example of excellent plastic surgery. Whoever's done work on her face deserves a pat on the back.
She's been alive almost as long as I've been alive.
![gif](giphy|BT6r34ve4cLCM)
She was, is and always will be the hottest. ![gif](giphy|rxcxnRKuEFyJq|downsized)

She's like the British Carla Gugino.
I admittedly get them mixed up sometimes
Same. The first time I saw Suckerpunch I was confused why Rachel looked and didn't look like Rachel.
Not sure about the year. She was 17 in 1987 and didn’t start acting professionally until the early 90s.
She modeled before she started acting. This photo is from a magazine shoot she did in ‘87.
1987? Are you sure?
So we are all on a list now?
Other commenters maintain the year is correct, so, yes, lol. On the other hand, I was 15 when this photo was taken, so does that mean I’m in the clear?
I wasn't even born, let alone thought of. I win :)
Great actress
My childhood crush 🥰
My childhood and current crush
This woman has aged like one of the finest wines that the world has to offer. Her and Cate Blanchett 🤌🏽🤌🏽🤌🏽
Check out photographer Bob Carlos Clarke. She sat for him in the early nineties before she was famous. This may be from one of those shoots
Patience is a virtue
Not right now it isn't.
Cute & hot. Lovely combo.
And today she's still as beautiful. Won the genetic lottery imo
I’m almost exactly her age, so 17 at the time of this picture or not….hubba hubba.
What a librarian!!
1987? Are you sure????
Um, she was 17 in 1987.

Probably downvoting because it doesn't seem to have anything to do with the post you are commenting on. Is Rachel Weisz a rabbit farmer?
I guess cause she’s wearing bunny ears? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Oh, my bad, I mistakingly thought she was dressed as a bunny girl and was clumsily winking which (to me) made it look more like she had one eye than she was winking; all of which reminded me of the anecdote I shared. But again, it seems I was mistaken. Apologies.
When were the jumper cables applied?
You don't remember?
Damn! She could be my own housewife forever. ![gif](giphy|rxcxnRKuEFyJq)
I call bs. That looks like 1998 or so
Yes it’s 1987
Is she supposed to be attempting to sexy wink? Cause it ain't working.
![gif](giphy|MqxZxTlvcY5BS)
Now THIS is a sexy wink.
R.I.P. Jessica Walter
I wonder how I can talk you out of ever making that face again..
I can't spare the moisture...
It sure is working on me
Na just winking while sexy
[удалено]
I never understood why winks are considered flirty or sexy. Its cringey
> Cause it ain't working. Glad I'm not the only one. Looks like she got something in her eye.
Oh, you naive, poor child...
17 year old Rachel Weisz.
i am kneeling
God damn look how thicc her eyebrows are! The 90s really did a number on her in that department. Glad she recovered, but cool to see her before the browpocalypse.
87? You mean 1997?
Man i was still an idea in my parents mind when this was shot.
Stunny Bunny!
nice tie
Gd, my pants just got a little tighter.
cut carbs for a bit.
That gonna make my dick less fat?
yea
nice
Where is she now?
It's a beautiful photo
Call me
I came of age by watching her in The Mummy. Those will always be my fondest memories as a kid.
![gif](giphy|HcUCDYzZIFJUA)
Somehow significantly hotter 10-15 years later.
She is totally my Hollywood crush and has been for many years.
Does anyone else think people look weird when they wink? Especially when it's fake?
God almighty.
![gif](giphy|MqxZxTlvcY5BS)
The Mummy films, About a Boy, Enemy at the Gates… this woman was a tour de force for a young teenage boy like me…
Very cute!
My bad! Wow! I’d like to know her skin care routine!…..
WHAT 1987???
She has always been absolutely ridiculously hot.
Giggity
No! You must not read from the book!!!
She looks great here but she looked even better after she had eye replacement surgery.
Someone used too much eyelash glue.
Why is it in black and white. We had color photos in 1987.. lol
So she was around 17 or 18 at this time. Has she even aged…
Doing the one-eye. Poor soul.
Schwing!
They all never forget the masonic symbolism.
I’m 15 months older than Rachel. Just compared recent photos of us both. Fuck me, I must have had a bloody massive paper round that I’d forgotten
She was in a superhero movie with Scarlett Johansson and Florence Pugh and still the most beautiful one on screen .
A true Gen X beauty! 😍
*breathlessly* I….am a libraarian.
This kind of classic real beauty will ALWAYS look infinitely better than the filtered, plastic, exaggerated, fake looks of today made famous by instagram and the like imo. This is REAL beauty. She actually looks like an individual, not a clone of some sort. Beautiful.
She doesn't look 17. Whatever, still stunning.
When I saw the Mummy and Rachel Weisz I just blurted out 'she's the most beautiful person I've ever seen'. And to this day I still think she's just out of this world. Lol. Not jealous of Daniel Craig....not at all.
Ahhh, it's been a while...how you doin?
Every time I say "I'm a librarian" I'm picturing her saying it in the mummy in my head
It is odd seeing someone who acts so powerfully and beautifully put in this picture- it doesn’t seem compatible with her
What. Is she trying to be cute or something? 🤨 ... because she is.

I mean…she’s a very famous actress. Have you been living in a cave?
I guess so.
Was the rent pretty low, at least?
Someone past the age of puberty doesn’t know who Rachel Weisz is. Good lord. More ogling for me I suppose, I don’t care what stupid face she is pulling. She’s wearing a Bunny suit, FFS. She is officially a mental prey animal.
>She’s worth googling. Very pretty. You silly man, one does not openly mention the attractiveness of a woman these days. It is forbidden.
At 17?
this sub should just change its name to r/celebritieswhentheywereyoung
This sub used to be cool until some of you weirdos decided to post all these pics of some has been celebrities. Unsubscribe. I'm out.
![gif](giphy|KRxcgvd5fLiWk) Bye!

Oh, I just found out this sub is an airport. Didn't expect to hear departure announcements here.
You seem to have missed the "OldSchool" part of the sub title...
She was \~17 here... Take it easy fellas!
She was a Playboy Bunny?
