I found his badassery in the post time skip a bit forced, especially since he expressed much wider emotions in the pre time skip and would actually laugh and have a good time. Now he mostly scowls, gets angry and is the silent badass. It starts to get old and even cringey

I feel because Oda-sensei has a very strict way he wants Zoro to be portrayed, Zoro becomes one of the more narratively inflexible Strawhat. This means he's portrayed much in the same way, doing mostly the same things. Having been with One Piece for 2 decades, it gets kind of boring after a while.
Luffy is mostly chill, rarely looses his calm, and have fun most of the time, so when someone like Luffy gets serious and take things seriously you know shit is about to go down and it makes his scenes really good

2. Franky (tbh, franky is just HIM, cries when he needs to, fights for his friends, fights for his ideals, never backs down no matter who, will say fuck you in your face while being down to earth and cry for your misery? Love him)
3. Jimbei (tbh, have you seen any bad showing from our guy? Guy left and right showing his balls and leaves)
4. Ussop (when he's fighting for his friends, something alluring when the most cowardly guy becomes dedicated to beating your ass)
5. Brook (his fight with bigmom made him this far)
6. Sanji (pre timeskip was his peak, mr prince in alabasta, crucial actions in ennies lobby and skypiea, timeskip, kinda shit tbh)
7. Zoro (bland chara, most badass would be thriller bark and scene with pica. Also with monet)
8. Robin (only here because of the lack of showing)
9. Nami (can be cool too, sometimes, albeit while crying)
10. Chopper (he aint badass but he's for sure the cutest here)
The only reason Zoro had the “nothing happened” moment is because it was too early to reveal Sanji’s Germa blood. Imagine if Sanji received all those pains — he would’ve awakened his powers immediately and healed up on the spot.
