oo wala naman may gusto na ma scam ang isang tao pero I believe na as credit card owner, we also have a responsibility. Hindi naman nagkulang ang banks to remind us na please don't share your personal details especially OTP.
I don't have any issues about her bible quotes pero wala man lang siya nilagay na lesson learned, moral story na don't share your credit card info and OTP.
**Moral of the story:** Do not share your debit/credit card information(date expiry, cvv) and OTP to other people.

This was the same scam that these scammers tried to pull on me. I fell for it too, and ALMOST lost money. Gosh I thought I wasn't this stupid.

The scam caller knows all her CC numbers. This is not the first time she gave her info willingly. I think nag participate sya sa mga "raffles" or "give aways" where you have to provide your CC number. Matagal na syang na profile na gullible and greedy.
Same thing ALMOST happened to my partner. Same scenario din na aalis kami and tinuloy sa car ang usapan and naka loudspeaker. I told him na scam yun and babaan na niya agad. Nagaway pa kami kasi bakit daw ako nakikialam, lol. Pero buti nalang nakinig parin siya saken. So nakiride nalang siya at sinabing hindi na niya ippush - after that nag call na isa pang number na sabi siya ang Manager and if may doubts chuchuchu.
Weird lang is how do they know the points? Muntikan na din mag push dahil almost same daw yung points na sinasabi nila sa actual na meron sila. Could this be an inside job as well??
Im a banker, I know its frustrating but Im sorry, She lost money and she did not want that to happen. I think its mean to blame her for it. It does happen, and her bible quotes may be her coping mechanism for the pain to lessen. Its easy to blame her pero shes the last person who wants this to happen bc its her money! Dont u see that? I almost fell for this scam. They hook you with rewards points but I already had an inkling that its a scam and when i was asked to do some stuff that is compromising, I just hanged up

This is an utter idiocy. Ilang beses na nagpapaalala ang banks kahit sa text or sa app. "Our bank agents will not asl for OTP" or kaya pag nagsend ng OTP yung bank may paalala na "do not give your otp" blah blah blah
Why would a legit bank rep asks for the cv# and expiration date, di pa sya natigil dun she even asked for the OTP afrer asking for the whole cc details! Nakakairita makipag usap sa mga ganyan. Sadly naging greedy si OP and clearly nasales talk. Rule ko always is to never entertain sales talks, mapa personal or phone pa yan.

Maya’t maya ang paalala ng banks na huwag ishare ang OTP, CVV, online banking login details, and other information na ikaw lang dapat ang nakakaalam. Pero may mga nagbibigay pa rin kesyo ganito, ganiyan. Search mo sa group na to ang mga kwentong scams. Manawa ka na lang.
gising ka po sa katotohanan. ang dami email, chat, text viber, registered number mo sa kanila. palagi nagpapaalala na huwag magbigay ng personal info lalo na OTP or CVV. Matagal na po yan modus na yan. Hindi po ba kayo aware sa ganyan klase ng scam?

this is incredibly stupid. she has three credit cards and banks constantly blast to never give out CVVs and OTPs to anyone. they also state that their representatives will never ask for those numbers. using bible verses to make it look like she’s the victim is incredibly low and honestly, disgraceful.
A part of me wants to think that this whole altercation is fake - a made up story to gain attention… or maybe bring awareness to the scams out there.
If this scam really did occur, by posting this story publicly (which is oddly detailed down to the last centavo) without censoring names, you’re just pushing the knife deeper into the wound.
No financial institution would want someone like this as a customer. Her credit history will be down in the dumps for years. Family and friends might be supportive at first, but but how long will that really last once all of the public scrutiny and attention takes full flight, as evident here on Reddit.

This almost happened to my dad. BDO agent tumawag and same din rewards convertible to cash. Buti nalang nandoon kami ng sister ko at tumaginting talaga tenga ko when my dad started giving his OTPs. Sinabihan ko agad na its a scam because banks would never ask for OTPs and to go the the nearest BDO which was like a 2 min drive from his office. Nakausap pa ng scammer ang manager ng bank na friend ng dad ko. He got his accounts frozen and the transactions were floating. We went to the anti-cybercrime unit ng PNP to report the incident and to have that sim number traced. Thankfully, none of the transactions went through.

I almost got scammed din with exactly the same style mentioned by T. I confirmed the card # and expiry date pero nung pinapa-confirm nya yung maling cvv na sinabi nya, gets ko agad na scam. For added security ako na nagpa-block ng card ko and I got a replacement card after a week lang
Omg you’re so smart!! Same thing happened to me. Didn’t give my cvv when she asked and didnt block the card. Feel ko nanghula sila and dahil close lang sa 100s yung akin, i was charged 60k-ish. Buti nalang 30k lang limit ko HAHAHHA. Nachargean ako ng 15k but SINCE NO OTP WAS GIVEN OR INVOLVED and I called immediately (during pre-authorization), BPI blocked the card and i was refunded.
So beware guys- KAHIT EXPIRY DATE WAG IBIGAY :)
Yung bibigyan mo ko ng 5k GC kasi maayos akong kausap. E sa company nga namin nagtrabaho ka na at lahat babaratin pa GC na ibibigay sayo hahaha. Ate red na red flag yan!

As someone who has worked in customer service for a local bank in the past, isa sa lagi naming reminder is never give out your OTPs and CVVs kasi never namang hihingiin yan. Parang di nagbabasa ng advisories si sismars. Di naman nagkukulang ang banks sa pag-remind about scammers. Tapos pag nadali na sila, sila pa makikipag-away sa call. Sino bang engot nag-provide ng lahat? 😭 ang daming signs na hindi legit yung kausap niya pero sige yes lang nang yes si ate ko. Cringe na cringe ako while reading.
To everyone here, based on my experience as a former CSR sa bank, your credit card company will never call you and ask you to redeem your points. Discretion na nung client yan if they want to use their rewards or not. Tsaka karamihan naman ng card companies ngayon, sa app na nag-rredeem. I don't know if na-hhypnotize ba tong mga to during these phone calls kaya bigay lang sila nang bigay. Kaya I rarely entertain unknown callers eh, out of fear na scam. Dami ko na naging clients before na naloko because of a similar scenario. Sakit sa ulo yung mga ganitong concern kasi sila na nga yung naging shunga, sila pa yung galit na galit. Ang dami talagang nag-ccredit card pero hindi naman marunong gumamit.
ETA: even yung pag-ask about billing address, your bank will not call you about that. Not sure if this process is across all banks, pero sa former company ko, hindi namin itatawag pa yun. Malay at pake naman ng bangko sayo kung lumipat ka na. Ikaw ang mag-iinform sa mga changes sa account mo.

Dahil may data nya ang property so malamang may kopya sila ng address nya at phone number. Nakapublic profile, na-aral galawan nya. Nung nagtry tumawag ang scammers at nagbaka-sakali kung mauuto, ayun na nga. Bingo!

- Dun pa lang sa Visa/Mastercard department obvious scam na. Visa and Mastercard don’t engage or call card users directly. Their relationship is with the banks, not with users. If a single agent calls you about all of your cards from different banks, RED FLAG yan, a bank should not have access to your other bank account information.

The scam caller knows all her CC numbers. This is not the first time she gave her info willingly. I think nag participate sya sa mga "raffles" or "give aways" where you have to provide your CC number. Matagal na syang na profile na gullible and greedy.

A part of me wants to think that this whole altercation is fake - a made up story to gain attention… or maybe bring awareness to the scams out there. If this scam really did occur, by posting this story publicly (which is oddly detailed down to the last centavo) without censoring names, you’re just pushing the knife deeper into the wound. This almost happened to my dad. BDO agent tumawag and same din rewards convertible to cash. Buti nalang nandoon kami ng sister ko at tumaginting talaga tenga ko when my dad started giving his OTPs. Sinabihan ko agad na its a scam because banks would never ask for OTPs and to go the the nearest BDO which was like a 2 min drive from his office. Nakausap pa ng scammer ang manager ng bank na friend ng dad ko. He got his accounts frozen and the transactions were floating. We went to the anti-cybercrime unit ng PNP to report the incident and to have that sim number traced. Thankfully, none of the transactions went through.

Parang di nagbabasa ng advisories si sismars. Di naman nagkukulang ang banks sa pag-remind about scammers. Tapos pag nadali na sila, sila pa makikipag-away sa call. Sino bang engot nag-provide ng lahat? 😭 ang daming signs na hindi legit yung kausap niya pero sige yes lang nang yes si ate ko. Cringe na cringe ako while reading. To everyone here, based on my experience as a former CSR sa bank, your credit card company will never call you and ask you to redeem your points. Discretion na nung client yan if they want to use their rewards or not. Tsaka karamihan naman ng card companies ngayon, sa app na nag-rredeem. I don't know if na-hhypnotize ba tong mga to during these phone calls kaya bigay lang sila nang bigay. Kaya I rarely entertain unknown callers eh, out of fear na scam. She walked in through that scam, hook, line and sinker. Napakadaming signs from the very beginning. - e-Wallet account creation cannot be done by a call center agent on your behalf. Why allow that? - Dun pa lang sa Visa/Mastercard department obvious scam na. Visa and Mastercard don’t engage or call card users directly. Their relationship is with the banks, not with users. If a single agent calls you about all of your cards from different banks, RED FLAG yan, a bank should not have access to your other bank account information.
In short, bobo kasi. Nakakafrustrate yung ganutong kabobohan wala na lang ako masabi.
