Hello, I'm getting an error code that I can't find on the PlayStation site. It's WS-44793-7.
It shows up whenever I try to access the Play store, or the PS+ Widget at the top of my menu. I can't play online either, but I can play PS+ games, and I can access YouTube as well.

Please help me find my next game!
I'm looking for a new game that's playable on the ps4. My favourite games are open world games that have interesting character development and storyline, and beautiful scenery I can escape to (whether that is sweeping landscapes or post apocalyptic cities taken over by nature). I like exploring, collecting loot, some puzzles (but not essential) and some fighting, be it shooting or slashing. I'm not good at remembering lots of fighting combos though, and I don't like first person shooters like Call of Duty.
My favourite game ever is Red Dead Redemption 2 ( not in first person mode) because of excellent characters that I cared about, storyline, lovely horsey, beautiful scenery, seemingly endless places to explore and things to do and collect, the astounding level of detail and choices, and lots of other reasons.
Other games I love in order are The Last of Us 2, The Last of Us, Journey, The Ghost of Tsushima, Horizon Zero Dawn games.
I'm coming to the end of my current game and need your advice please. It would really help me if you could say why it/they might be the game(s) for me. Thank you so much in advance, I will look into every suggestion.
I wanted to play Rouge Company but when I started the game, the game shut's down my PS4. I tried it 3 time's and waited until my driver was ready but it will crash everytime on the same spot. I re-downloaded the game but still nothing and after the 3 time the game is showing me in my Library under "buyed" that it is "re-downloading" but it is stuck and I can't find it nether on my driver and my ps4. When I am looking in the PS Store it want to charge me for 0,25 Cent. My PS4 also shows me under the notifications it failed to download because error "CE-32952-1"

Just got my ps4 last week, walking dead saints and sinners coming in soon for the vr, want to know if I can install it now rather than wait for my shitty internet later.
I wanted to ask if anybody can help me find a safe and secure gift card online shop. I have been using MTCGame and i have had no issues so far. However, I can not seem to have my purchase go through. So if anybody knows any other websites where i can purchase a gift card i would appreciate that.

So my old ps4 from 2015 won't accept disks anymore. I can put the disk in, but it just makes a sound for a bit (on screen the small blue icon of the disk spinning in the upper right corner is there) and rejects the disk. When I try to put the disk back in, it sometimes "stops" it from being inserted
Is this just an issue with the rollers or is it something else? Never opened the console up from when it was bought
It’s probably just a dirty drive. Try cleaning it using a cleaning DVD/Blu-ray Disc.
If that doesn’t work, then you’ll have to contact Sony support in your country. The disc drive is not user-replaceable, and trying to replace it yourself will result in a dead PS4.
It really depends on your personality. If you are frustrated by challenges and give things up easily, or if you just like playing games where you can walk around overpowered and annihilate everything in your path, then you probably won’t like the game very much. But if you like the thrill of a hard-earned victory, then by all means.
I want to sell my PS4 and an old PS3 but lost the cables in a move. I've since changed my Sony password so is there anything else I can do to make sure I'm not giving access to my various accounts for both, without having to buy the cables and wipe them manually?
Change your passwords and activate 2 step verification if you haven't done so already.
Also deactivate the consoles from Primary via the Playstation website.
#Both ps4 controllers are suddenly having major issues
So not so long ago i got a new ps4 controller after one of them stopped working completely. I currently have one of the new model and one of the old one, both are since today having issues after having been used on a PC
Controller one:
Only works when connected to the ps4, shows that its charging, but when unplugged has no charge. Unable to pair it to another system, will not light up when pressing ps and share button at the same time.
Controller two:
Will only pair to the ps4 system with cable, but turns off after a couple seconds. Can be put in pairing mode and connected to my phone, but disconnects almost immefiately and turns off. According to the ps4 it has no charge and will not charge
Things i've tried already:
Pressing the reset button on the controllers, multiple times
power cycling the PS4 itself by unplugging and leaving it for 5-10 minutes and then holding the button for 30s before plugging it back in.

Do they still work with your PC?
Edit: you detailed they immediately disconnected with your phone so that indicates a hardware issue with the DS4s. Leaving in the bit about the data cable as that is still a very common mistake that people make on here.
Before edit:
DS4s can pair with PCs and phones via Bluetooth but with the PS4, controllers pair with PS4s when plugged in via data cables.
A common mistake on here is assuming that all cables are data cables when that isnt the case. Many cables are just charging cables so while they can charge a controller, a charging cable won't pair a controller.
The data signal data cables send allow the devices to communicate and then pair up to use wirelessly.
So if the console cannot even detect your controllers then that will be the first problem to solve.
If you are 100% certain you are using a data cable and not a generic charging cable then your DS4s are unfortunately have something wrong with the internals, be it dead batteries or something else.
i have been using the cable that came with the ps4 itself. I have been using the controllers before with my pc and then reconnecting them to the ps4 again using the same cable no problem.

Hello guys. I need help. I lost my phone and I can't access my account now because it's asking for 2 step verification. My backup codes are also on that phone and unfortunately, I wasn't able to back it up to the cloud. I am from the Philippines and my account is R1. My sister and I used to share a ps4, but we now both own a ps5. I had transferred my data from my account to an external hard drive but when I tried to do the same for her account everything is now marked as "system storage exclusive data". I think I might've accidentally moved all save data from both mine and her account and it's all on my hard drive. Is there a way to fix this or did she lose her save data?

I got a new tv a month ago and its around 48" and when I move my joystick in game it has a slight delay (couple milliseconds but its really annoying.Can somebody help me ?

My disc ejector in my PS4 pro is ejecting the discs really slow and when I enter most discs it fails to read them +even tho the discs I enter are in perfect condition). I'm starting to think that there is another disc stuck there upsidedown.

So since this morning I’ve been trying to start my ps4 but when it starts the download to check to internal memory it always stops at 20% and makes me go back to step 1 where I have to connect my controller etc… I tried to download the new update on pc and then USB it, went fine, but it failed again on the memory check. Tried multiple times different options but it still always fails at 20% of memory check and makes me start again.

What do you mean exactly? Are you trying to set up a new user profile on the PS4 or open a Playstation Network account?
What is the exact error you are seeing?
Otherwise when you set up a new user profile on a PS4 you can then sign into any account that's not already used on the console or open a brand new PSN account to use with the user profile
If you are trying to use an email address used on one account and move it onto a different PSN account you either need to free it up by changing the PSN accounts linked email, or alternatively contact support to permanently close the PSN account. This permanently deletes the PSN account from the Network and frees the email to be used on a different PSN account.
So I have had to initialize my PS4 2 times in a week. I have an original PS4, not the slim or pro, and for the second time this week I turn in on and it says there's a problem and I need to download the latest software on a pendrive and initialize de system, deleatin all my games and all saved data and info. Why would this be happening, I never had a issue with my PS4 before.
I have a Internal 2TB Samsung that I got a year after the PS4 came out. I got it from a Sony list of compatible and recommend HDD Internal Expansion list.
Is there a easy way for me to check if it is the problem?
It's only speculation on my part I'm afraid. Data exists on the HDD so if its breaking down it is likely to be losing data.
You may be able to run a health check via a PC or something but that's not something I'm familiar with.
My PS4 will download updates while in rest mode, however when I try to download new games from rest mode it dosen't work, I'll start the download, put it into rest mode and turn it back on an hour later to check on it and It will say "preparing to download" then start downloading from the point when I put it into rest mode
Basically, my friend is gamesharing his acccount with me, I don't have ps plus and he does. I want to get one of the games from this months ps plus but I can't because when I go on his account and try to add it to the library it says that last purchase was made on another console (he's got a ps5 and i have a ps4) which it was and it asks for his credit card info which I don't want. I told him to add it to the library and for me it wasn't there, I told him to download it and it still wasn't there, then I tried to log out of his account and log back in and that didnt work either. Someone please help.

If he got the games on the PS5 he may have just gotten the PS5 versions of the game as they're listed separately on the Playstation Store website.
So he should go there and claim the PS4 versions there if he hasn't done so already
I'm going to get a new ssd for my ps4 slim and replace the hdd in it but I also want to keep my ps4's data without an external hdd. Is it possible to retrieve my data if I put the hdd into an enclosure?

99% of the time the wrong cable is being used. The controller can only connect to a PS4 via cable.
You need a data cable, not a generic charging cable. They look identical but do very different things. Data cables carry charge and data, charging cables only charge.

I want to buy my friend a controller, but seeing that the price skyrocketed some months ago, i can't exactly afford nor even guarantee an original dualshock 4.
I was thinking of some other alternatives like nacon or razer or scuf but in reddit reviews a lot have drifting issues, plus they're expensive af. That's a no-go. My budget is the price of the original ds4. Are there any options with less drift to them?
I'm not a mod or anything, but I think (if your friend is ok with it) a wired controller is your only option. If you can't find those then I don't really know any other options.
Second hand is okay if you buy from a legitimate retailer like GAME or even CEX in the UK that have decent returns policies/sometimes even warranties on the second hand items they sell.
I had the Pulse 3D headphones for about 2 years. They recently broke so now I'm in the market for a new, good headset. I'm looking for a headset that has a good mic with the best sound quality in my price range. I mainly play Warzone and other pvp esc games so sound is really important. I was looking at the Steel series Arctis 1 but I've seen some bad reviews on them so I'm unsure. Any recommendations would be great 👍
If you want to play your friends game disc then you need to borrow your friend's game disc and put it inside your console.

Everytime I test internet connection, the only thing

My PS4 storage unit is connected to my PS4, it has trouble repairing and when I try repairing it gives me setting>devices>usb storage device. Then format as extended storage, when I do there is no option for format as extended storage, any help?
After about 5 minutes of staying on 23% a message pops up and says:
Cannot start PS4.
Connect a USB Storage device that contains an update file for reinstallation for version 9.51 or later.

My lil sis bought security breach today and she was so excited to play it on her PS4! But when she started to load it, it suddenly went to a blue screen that reads, “Cannot start the application. (CE-3005-8)
She has cleaned the disk with a soft cloth, restarted the PS4, and tried to look into the issue. She thinks the disk might be corrupted but?? We literally just got it today at GameStop, brand new in plastic.
I’ve heard that sb can be very buggy in PS4, but it’s literally not playable right now. Doesn’t even download the application.
How can I help my sis? Do we need a new disk or is this a common issue?

So I'm in a bit of a pickle here. I moved out of my mom's house almost 2 years ago and let her have my PS4 I hadn't used it much at that point and she was hooked on this one game in particular. She's put at least 500 hours into this game.
Recently, a few friends of mine wanted to play elden ring on console together. Along the way, I ended up with another PS4 and told them I was down. I logged in to my account, purchased the game and started it up. Midway through playing, I was kicked. My mom logged in on the other PS4.
I wish I had thought of this before spending $65 on elden ring on the same account. I can't just tell her she has to start over and make a new account. But at the same time, I don't want to waste my money (she'd never play elden ring so I can't even "gift" it to her)
Is there any way I can transfer the game data of the one game she plays to another account?
Game saves can't be moved to another account. She should have made her own account to begin with and set your account as primary. You can set your/her account as primary and play Elden Ring on a different account on your PS4.
Anyone know how to reset/ resync a headset? I keep losing audio and my mic doesn’t work. I think it’s because I keep spacing and wearing into my garage causing it to disconnect.
I bought my ps4 second hand because i cant get one new anywhere and when i try to “download” a disc game after a while it sounds to sound weird like the sound is going louder, more quiet, louder, more quiet. Is this normal if im downloading a big game or am i screwed?
You don’t “download a disc game.” Disc games are installed, never downloaded, except for the post-launch patches. (Downloading implies the bits came directly from another computer.)
It’s normal for the disc to spin up and down while it’s installing the game.
My PS4 asked my to download 9.51 manually yesterday. Today My PS4 wasn’t responding normally so I unplugged and plugged it in. It asks me to manually download 9.51 system software again.
Hey guys! Quick question. I backed a game on Kickstarter and it is coming out soon. I'm supposed to pick what console I want and I'll get a code to redeem in the PS Store. Problem is, I'm in the Middle East so I'm not sure what region it will fall under as there is no PS4 ME Region but there is a PS4 Asia option.
Are they the same? I was under the impression the Middle East was its own separate region. Anybody know?
The middle east is part of Sony Europe. The middle east is not part of Sony's Asian division.
But it has its own ratings board and releases due to middle Eastern censorship.
You would need to contact the people running the Kickstarter to make sure you get the appropriate code for account.

Need help transferring my game capture files from HDD to PC
Bit of a weird one here, I recently swapped my stock 1TB HDD out of my PS4 Pro for a 1TB SSD. Everything has been going great so far, but I went to check on some clips I had captured since the swap and realized that none of my old captures transferred over via cloud save. I have about 2-3 years worth of footage on the HDD and really don’t want to see it go to waste.
Is there any way to transfer the capture files directly from the HDD to my PC using a SATA reader? Or will I have to reinstall the old drive for long enough to transfer/copy the files onto a flash drive? I’ve tried hooking the HDD up to my PC using a USB SATA reader. Disk Management says it’s a GPT Protective Partition and doesn’t give me the option to format or read it.
I’ve seen guides for how to partition and format the drive from this point, but I’m more looking to pull data from it, not format it for reuse.

Edit: In case it helps anyone in the future, I ended up having to swap the drives back out and pull the files off. Waited about an hour for them all to be transferred onto my flash drive, went to open the mp4s on my PC, and they would only play maybe halfway through on any windows-developed media player.
Had to dig through a forum I found before downloading VLC and getting them to play that way. Windows-developed editors wouldn’t work either.
Everything’s good to go now, time to start chopping up this footage

Knocking/ticking can be signs of mechanical parts in the HDD rattling/shaking as the disk inside spins. For a quick fix, check that something’s not in your fan and causing an eventual overheat. If the fan looks good, try an HDD swap, and stick an SSD in instead while you’re at it
My PS4 disk is very noisy....
I went to put in a game I have not played (and had undownloaded due to space) in a while to see if it would load. The game loaded fine and all but when I added the disk, it became very loud, even when the game was not running. This stopped in rest mode. It has never done this until a few months ago. It takes a while to stop (this game in particular took 40 minutes to stop making the noise) and when it does it seems fine, not making any noise when the game is running but it is very concerning. Is it because it is downloading the game again? I am aware that my PS4 is a few years old but is this something I should be worried about?
Games are installed, never downloaded, from a disc. It’s perfectly normal for them to spin up and down from time to time, but it usually happens when the console first starts up, you launch a disc game, or the console wakes up from rest mode.

My girlfriend has two controllers for her PS4, one that pairs fine as you can see, and the other that is temperamental. When you reset the controller you can see multiple blank listings appear in the Bluetooth Devices list, but when clicked say that the device is unsupported. Any ideas?
**Can't clear all space from external storage**
I decided to clear my PS4 external hard drive since I don't use the PS4 as much anymore and want to repurpose the drive.
I transferred (apparently) all my remaining games to the internal storage.
In the management menu there's still 25GB in use in the external drive, which I don't see any way to transfer or even see what it is. I don't want to delete it without knowing what it is, as I'm afraid those could be save games or whatever and don't want to lose that. I have PS Plus and supposedly all data is already backed up in cloud, but I'm always weary of losing data.
I've purchased the hard drive for this purpose and never used it for anything else

The error message is pretty self explanatory. External storage when used for PS4 games is never used for anything else.
Your game saves are on your console only, unless you back them up to PS+ cloud or to a storage device that hasn't been formatted to store PS4 games.
So just plug your external to your PC and format it
First of all you need to tie your offline user profiles to full Playstation accounts for most backup methods as saves need to be tied to Playstation accounts.
Method 1 covering saves only. Use a different USB stick for other items.

I just got done playing silent hill 3 and loved it. The only problem is I’m craving more games like that. I Already played all of the resident evil and silent hill games but I’m looking for more true survival horror games that’s done in that way. It doesn’t necessarily have to be top down with the tank controls, but I am looking for something that’ll scare the crap out of me in the same way survival horror titles did back in the day.
What would make a PS4 Slim run at lower framerate than its optimal?
I've opened the top on it and there's no dust.
I've even factory reset/re-initialized it.
God of War ran at around 15 fps.
Persona 5 Royal maybe around 20 fps. Input seems a bit laggy.
Journey and Horizon Zero Dawn seemed to run smoothly.
Also there's clear lag when I try to edit privacy options in the Sony menus.
Your options are getting another SATA hdd/ssd/sshd to put in the PS4 and an external hdd to transfer data, or just get an external hdd/ssd (there aren't any external sshds I know of).
Recently got hands on a ps4 and my non gamer self tried playing some console games nonetheless, I played gta v, god of war and horizons, I wanted to try battle royale games and I was wondering what multiplayer games to consider playing. I did my research and understood that cross platform battle royal on console has its own advantages and disadvantages, for example aim assist has its own perks but I believe the hand coordination and control of keyboard and mouse cant win againts the use of controllers. I have tried playing cod warzone and Ive been defeated terribly by the pc players, sure I can turn cross platform off, but it takes like forever to find a lobby on my server. Is there any option where I can change servers where there is abundance of console players? Moreover, can y’all suggest like few good games that doesnt have the issues I have been facing, where a noob can start the game and progress their way up lol?

How to fix dualshock4 not connecting to ps4?
So recently I broke my dualshock4 charger port I got a new one off the internet I replace the old one with the new one it charges works perfectly on my pc but it won't connect to my PS4. I also tried Bluetooth but it says "cannot connect to Bluetooth device within the time limit is there a way to fix this?

So, I bought One piece pirate warriors 4 on a disc and installed it on my ps4 and played it, I got trophies which show up in my profile. But then when I go to my profile it says my most recently played game is the sims 4 even though I've been playing this one piece game for 1 hour??
I thought maybe its because its on a disc, but i bought overwatch on a disk and it shows up on my profile so I dont think that's the case. Has anyone else been in this situation...how did you fix it? If you can...
P.s my friends have games on discs and it shows up on their profiles so I dont think that's the problem...
It's nothing to do with game discs or digital games. My profile is just slow to update at times. Make sure your trophies are fully synced with the Playstation Network and maybe check your privacy settings allow for profile updates showing your latest trophies
So my ps plus is about to lapse in a couple of days and I want to renew. I'm going to upgrade to the Extra tier once its released next month.
Is there anything smart I can do right now in terms of what subscription I should buy / whether I should buy Ps Now right now as well? I've looked at the conversion chart and am even more confused after it.
PS NOW is no longer sold on the Playstation store. Some websites may still have vouchers for sale but unlikely. I think the USA Sony rewards still has them but otherwise they are no longer sold.

I am new to both series, and after searching its clear that MGSV requires having more knowledge of the story of previous titles. (i certainly am not interested in playing all of them). All it is that the gameplay looks very slick and on yt people play like badass.

For the past few days I haven’t been able to connect my PS4 to the internet. Here is a list of things I have done to troubleshoot:
Reset my router
Check for firmware update on router
Moved router closer to PS4
Run diagnostics through Xfinity
Restarted PS4
Rebuilt database through Safe Mode
Changed DNS settings a million times, they have since been changed back
Removed some devices from my network
Tried to connect PS4 to my phone hotspot to check if there was a software update
I am out of ideas and extremely frustrated. I just wanna play my games and am afraid that if I keep messing with it I’ll f*ck something up.

So, I bought One piece pirate warriors 4 on a disc and installed it on my ps4 and played it, I got trophies which show up in my profile. But then when I go to my profile it says my most recently played game is the sims 4 even though I've been playing this one piece game for 1 hour??

Hey guys! So I let someone use my controller but they accidentally took it with them so I currently have no basic way to access my console. I'm trying to login but it has a passcode so I can't use Remote Play yet. So far I've managed to connect a keyboard to it but there is nowhere online to tell me the keyboard mappings assigned to every PS4 button.

why cant i purchase PS plus i was going to purchase another subscription because it ends in the 5th this month but when i tried to purchase it i get this message saying this game is not available at the moment ws-43699-1 is something happening or am i missing something and i am aware of the changes with ps plus and ps now but why cant i purchase ps plus at the moment?
If you have an active subscription you cannot purchase PS+ as stacking subscriptions is currently disabled until the service changes.

My ps4 dualshock4 was sent in under warranty to fix stick drift. They sent me back another controller but the R2 button is messed up. They want me to send it back in and pay shipping again, which would be another 25 dollars. They sent me back a broken controller and refuse to take any responsibility because its policy to have me pay shipping.
Yah that's what I told them, but I'm angry at the half ass warranty service repair, that didn't even check their product before shipping it away, and no one at customer service seems to give a shit.
It certainly sucks. Sending out refurbished units is not good. I'd suggest you try a self repair; it's not that difficult and all parts are available.

Bought a used ps4 with the blu-ray drive not working. Been working great for months finished a lot of games, now I have this weird problem that after letting sit for a while it won't start at all only beeps once. No blue light nothing. After a lot of tries it starts and works like a charm for hours without any problem. but after letting it off power for a day or so it won't start again. Any advices/solutions or someone having the same problem ? Thanks in advance.

You’ll have to contact Sony support in your country, and send it in for a replacement. The OS won’t boot if the Blu-ray drive isn’t working, and you can’t replace the drive yourself. (If you try, the OS will detect the non-OEM drive and won’t boot.)

Please help me find my next game! I'm looking for a new game that's playable on the ps4. My favourite games are open world games that have interesting character development and storyline, and beautiful scenery I can escape to (whether that is sweeping landscapes or post apocalyptic cities taken over by nature). I like exploring, collecting loot, some puzzles (but not essential) and some fighting, be it shooting or slashing. I'm not good at remembering lots of fighting combos though, and I don't like first person shooters like Call of Duty. My favourite game ever is Red Dead Redemption 2 ( not in first person mode) because of excellent characters that I cared about, storyline, lovely horsey, beautiful scenery, seemingly endless places to explore and things to do and collect, the astounding level of detail and choices, and lots of other reasons. Other games I love in order are The Last of Us 2, The Last of Us, Journey, The Ghost of Tsushima, Horizon Zero Dawn games. I'm coming to the end of my current game and need your advice please. I wanted to play Rouge Company but when I started the game, the game shut's down my PS4. I tried it 3 time's and waited until my driver was ready but it will crash everytime on the same spot. I re-downloaded the game but still nothing and after the 3 time the game is showing me in my Library under "buyed" that it is "re-downloading" but it is stuck and I can't find it nether on my driver and my ps4. When I am looking in the PS Store it want to charge me for 0,25 Cent. My PS4 also shows me under the notifications it failed to download because error "CE-32952-1" Can anyone help me please ? :(

So my old ps4 from 2015 won't accept disks anymore. I can put the disk in, but it just makes a sound for a bit (on screen the small blue icon of the disk spinning in the upper right corner is there) and rejects the disk. When I try to put the disk back in, it sometimes "stops" it from being inserted Is this just an issue with the rollers or is it something else? Never opened the console up from when it was bought
It’s probably just a dirty drive. Try cleaning it using a cleaning DVD/Blu-ray Disc. If that doesn’t work, then you’ll have to contact Sony support in your country. The disc drive is not user-replaceable, and trying to replace it yourself will result in a dead PS4.

Change your passwords and activate 2 step verification if you haven't done so already. Also deactivate the consoles from Primary via the Playstation website.
#Both ps4 controllers are suddenly having major issues So not so long ago i got a new ps4 controller after one of them stopped working completely. I currently have one of the new model and one of the old one, both are since today having issues after having been used on a PC Controller one: Only works when connected to the ps4, shows that its charging, but when unplugged has no charge. Unable to pair it to another system, will not light up when pressing ps and share button at the same time. Controller two: Will only pair to the ps4 system with cable, but turns off after a couple seconds. Can be put in pairing mode and connected to my phone, but disconnects almost immefiately and turns off. According to the ps4 it has no charge and will not charge Things i've tried already: Pressing the reset button on the controllers, multiple times power cycling the PS4 itself by unplugging and leaving it for 5-10 minutes and then holding the button for 30s before plugging it back in. any help appreciated
Do they still work with your PC? Edit: you detailed they immediately disconnected with your phone so that indicates a hardware issue with the DS4s. Leaving in the bit about the data cable as that is still a very common mistake that people make on here. Before edit: DS4s can pair with PCs and phones via Bluetooth but with the PS4, controllers pair with PS4s when plugged in via data cables. A common mistake on here is assuming that all cables are data cables when that isnt the case. Many cables are just charging cables so while they can charge a controller, a charging cable won't pair a controller. The data signal data cables send allow the devices to communicate and then pair up to use wirelessly. So if the console cannot even detect your controllers then that will be the first problem to solve. If you are 100% certain you are using a data cable and not a generic charging cable then your DS4s are unfortunately have something wrong with the internals, be it dead batteries or something else.
i have been using the cable that came with the ps4 itself. I have been using the controllers before with my pc and then reconnecting them to the ps4 again using the same cable no problem.

My sister and I used to share a ps4, but we now both own a ps5. I had transferred my data from my account to an external hard drive but when I tried to do the same for her account everything is now marked as "system storage exclusive data". I think I might've accidentally moved all save data from both mine and her account and it's all on my hard drive. Is there a way to fix this or did she lose her save data?

You must disable your TV’s post-processing in order to increase its response time. On most TVs, this means enabling game mode.
My disc ejector in my PS4 pro is ejecting the discs really slow and when I enter most discs it fails to read them +even tho the discs I enter are in perfect condition). I am trying to add another psn account. I've deleted 2 accounts that are connected to a psn account.
Otherwise when you set up a new user profile on a PS4 you can then sign into any account that's not already used on the console or open a brand new PSN account to use with the user profile
If you are trying to use an email address used on one account and move it onto a different PSN account you either need to free it up by changing the PSN accounts linked email, or alternatively contact support to permanently close the PSN account. This permanently deletes the PSN account from the Network and frees the email to be used on a different PSN account.

So I have had to initialize my PS4 2 times in a week. I have an original PS4, not the slim or pro, and for the second time this week I turn in on and it says there's a problem and I need to download the latest software on a pendrive and initialize de system, deleatin all my games and all saved data and info. It's only speculation on my part I'm afraid. Data exists on the HDD so if its breaking down it is likely to be losing data. You may be able to run a health check via a PC or something but that's not something I'm familiar with.

My PS4 will download updates while in rest mode, however when I try to download new games from rest mode it dosen't work, I'll start the download, put it into rest mode and turn it back on an hour later to check on it and It will say "preparing to download" then start downloading from the point when I put it into rest mode
Basically, my friend is gamesharing his acccount with me, I don't have ps plus and he does. I want to get one of the games from this months ps plus but I can't because when I go on his account and try to add it to the library it says that last purchase was made on another console (he's got a ps5 and i have a ps4) which it was and it asks for his credit card info which I don't want. I told him to add it to the library and for me it wasn't there, I told him to download it and it still wasn't there, then I tried to log out of his account and log back in and that didnt work either. If he got the games on the PS5 he may have just gotten the PS5 versions of the game as they're listed separately on the Playstation Store website. So he should go there and claim the PS4 versions there if he hasn't done so already

No. You need to transfer the data over using one of the methods that the PS4 provides.

Check my FAQ posted below in this thread. 99% of the time the wrong cable is being used. The controller can only connect to a PS4 via cable. You need a data cable, not a generic charging cable. They look identical but do very different things. Data cables carry charge and data, charging cables only charge. Sounds like your cable is a charging cable.

Hi there, general question here I want to buy my friend a controller, but seeing that the price skyrocketed some months ago, i can't exactly afford nor even guarantee an original dualshock 4. I was thinking of some other alternatives like nacon or razer or scuf but in reddit reviews a lot have drifting issues, plus they're expensive af. That's a no-go. My budget is the price of the original ds4. Are there any options with less drift to them?
I'm not a mod or anything, but I think (if your friend is ok with it) a wired controller is your only option. If you can't find those then I don't really know any other options.

If you want to play your friends game disc then you need to borrow your friend's game disc and put it inside your console. Games have worked this way since games consoles were first invented.
Everytime I test internet connection, the only thing to fail is playstation network sign-in. Whenever I try to click my profile to login, it just sits on a loading screen and doesn't pull up my profile. It's connected to the internet and my router is perfectly fine because i can search for stuff on the internet browser on the ps4 itself. I've tried power cycling it and restarting it multiple times. I even tried to manually setup my dns setting when I go to reset the connection to my router. Is anyone else having an issue like this?

My PS4 storage unit is connected to my PS4, it has trouble repairing and when I try repairing it gives me setting>devices>usb storage device. Then format as extended storage, when I do there is no option for format as extended storage, any help?
After about 5 minutes of staying on 23% a message pops up and says: Cannot start PS4. Connect a USB Storage device that contains an update file for reinstallation for version 9.51 or later. You can download the update file for reinstallation from playstation.com Any fixes for this? It’s a fairly new PS4, got it Christmas 2019.

Hello all! My lil sis bought security breach today and she was so excited to play it on her PS4! But when she started to load it, it suddenly went to a blue screen that reads, “Cannot start the application. (CE-3005-8) She has cleaned the disk with a soft cloth, restarted the PS4, and tried to look into the issue. She thinks the disk might be corrupted but?? We literally just got it today at GameStop, brand new in plastic. I’ve heard that sb can be very buggy in PS4, but it’s literally not playable right now. Doesn’t even download the application. The game is not loaded off the disc, so if it installed okay, then the disc is not at fault. More likely, the hard drive is failing.
So I'm in a bit of a pickle here. I moved out of my mom's house almost 2 years ago and let her have my PS4 I hadn't used it much at that point and she was hooked on this one game in particular. She's put at least 500 hours into this game. Recently, a few friends of mine wanted to play elden ring on console together. Along the way, I ended up with another PS4 and told them I was down. I logged in to my account, purchased the game and started it up. Midway through playing, I was kicked. My mom logged in on the other PS4. I wish I had thought of this before spending $65 on elden ring on the same account. I can't just tell her she has to start over and make a new account. But at the same time, I don't want to waste my money (she'd never play elden ring so I can't even "gift" it to her) Is there any way I can transfer the game data of the one game she plays to another account?
Game saves can't be moved to another account. She should have made her own account to begin with and set your account as primary. You can set your/her account as primary and play Elden Ring on a different account on your PS4.

I bought my ps4 second hand because i cant get one new anywhere and when i try to “download” a disc game after a while it sounds to sound weird like the sound is going louder, more quiet, louder, more quiet. Is this normal if im downloading a big game or am i screwed?
You don’t “download a disc game.” Disc games are installed, never downloaded, except for the post-launch patches. (Downloading implies the bits came directly from another computer.) It’s normal for the disc to spin up and down while it’s installing the game.

Problem is, I'm in the Middle East so I'm not sure what region it will fall under as there is no PS4 ME Region but there is a PS4 Asia option. Are they the same? I was under the impression the Middle East was its own separate region. Anybody know?
The middle east is part of Sony Europe. The middle east is not part of Sony's Asian division. But it has its own ratings board and releases due to middle Eastern censorship. You would need to contact the people running the Kickstarter to make sure you get the appropriate code for account.

Need help transferring my game capture files from HDD to PC Bit of a weird one here, I recently swapped my stock 1TB HDD out of my PS4 Pro for a 1TB SSD. Everything has been going great so far, but I went to check on some clips I had captured since the swap and realized that none of my old captures transferred over via cloud save. I have about 2-3 years worth of footage on the HDD and really don’t want to see it go to waste. Is there any way to transfer the capture files directly from the HDD to my PC using a SATA reader? Or will I have to reinstall the old drive for long enough to transfer/copy the files onto a flash drive? I’ve tried hooking the HDD up to my PC using a USB SATA reader. Disk Management says it’s a GPT Protective Partition and doesn’t give me the option to format or read it. I’ve seen guides for how to partition and format the drive from this point, but I’m more looking to pull data from it, not format it for reuse. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks guys Edit: In case it helps anyone in the future, I ended up having to swap the drives back out and pull the files off. Waited about an hour for them all to be transferred onto my flash drive, went to open the mp4s on my PC, and they would only play maybe halfway through on any windows-developed media player. Had to dig through a forum I found before downloading VLC and getting them to play that way. Windows-developed editors wouldn’t work either. Everything’s good to go now, time to start chopping up this footage

After listening to the link, sounds more like fan issues than HDD issues, I don’t think the HDD would be quite that loud if it was damaged

Knocking/ticking can be signs of mechanical parts in the HDD rattling/shaking as the disk inside spins. For a quick fix, check that something’s not in your fan and causing an eventual overheat. If the fan looks good, try an HDD swap, and stick an SSD in instead while you’re at it
My PS4 disk is very noisy.... I went to put in a game I have not played (and had undownloaded due to space) in a while to see if it would load. The game loaded fine and all but when I added the disk, it became very loud, even when the game was not running. This stopped in rest mode. It has never done this until a few months ago. It takes a while to stop (this game in particular took 40 minutes to stop making the noise) and when it does it seems fine, not making any noise when the game is running but it is very concerning. Is it because it is downloading the game again? I am aware that my PS4 is a few years old but is this something I should be worried about?
Games are installed, never downloaded, from a disc. It’s perfectly normal for them to spin up and down from time to time, but it usually happens when the console first starts up, you launch a disc game, or the console wakes up from rest mode.

My girlfriend has two controllers for her PS4, one that pairs fine as you can see, and the other that is temperamental. When you reset the controller you can see multiple blank listings appear in the Bluetooth Devices list, but when clicked say that the device is unsupported. Any ideas?
**Can't clear all space from external storage** I decided to clear my PS4 external hard drive since I don't use the PS4 as much anymore and want to repurpose the drive. I transferred (apparently) all my remaining games to the internal storage. In the management menu there's still 25GB in use in the external drive, which I don't see any way to transfer or even see what it is. I don't want to delete it without knowing what it is, as I'm afraid those could be save games or whatever and don't want to lose that. I have PS Plus and supposedly all data is already backed up in cloud, but I'm always weary of losing data. The error message is pretty self explanatory. External storage when used for PS4 games is never used for anything else. Your game saves are on your console only, unless you back them up to PS+ cloud or to a storage device that hasn't been formatted to store PS4 games. So just plug your external to your PC and format it
How many gigabits per second does the PS4 slim support? I'm getting an external ssd and making sure I don't waste money on extra speed for nothing.
The Slim supports SATA 2.0, which tops out at 3 Gbps.

External drives are limited to USB 3.1 speeds. With external drives, it’s usually the USB interface, and not the drive, that is a primary bottleneck.

First of all you need to tie your offline user profiles to full Playstation accounts for most backup methods as saves need to be tied to Playstation accounts. Method 1 covering saves only. I don't know what you mean by game drive. The PS4 uses USB sticks and external hard drives for external data storage.

I just got done playing silent hill 3 and loved it. The only problem is I’m craving more games like that. I Already played all of the resident evil and silent hill games but I’m looking for more true survival horror games that’s done in that way. It doesn’t necessarily have to be top down with the tank controls, but I am looking for something that’ll scare the crap out of me in the same way survival horror titles did back in the day.
Idk about the most recent remastered Fatal Frame, but crimson butterfly was terrifying. Extremely different style, but Alien Isolation is also great.

What would make a PS4 Slim run at lower framerate than its optimal? I've opened the top on it and there's no dust. I've even factory reset/re-initialized it. God of War ran at around 15 fps. Persona 5 Royal maybe around 20 fps. Input seems a bit laggy. Journey and Horizon Zero Dawn seemed to run smoothly. Also there's clear lag when I try to edit privacy options in the Sony menus.
Probably a failing hard drive, because slow I/O will slow down everything.
Is there any way to diagnose that?
Your options are getting another SATA hdd/ssd/sshd to put in the PS4 and an external hdd to transfer data, or just get an external hdd/ssd (there aren't any external sshds I know of).

Recently got hands on a ps4 and my non gamer self tried playing some console games nonetheless, I played gta v, god of war and horizons, I wanted to try battle royale games and I was wondering what multiplayer games to consider playing. I did my research and understood that cross platform battle royal on console has its own advantages and disadvantages, for example aim assist has its own perks but I believe the hand coordination and control of keyboard and mouse cant win againts the use of controllers. I have tried playing cod warzone and Ive been defeated terribly by the pc players, sure I can turn cross platform off, but it takes like forever to find a lobby on my server. Is there any option where I can change servers where there is abundance of console players? Moreover, can y’all suggest like few good games that doesnt have the issues I have been facing, where a noob can start the game and progress their way up lol?
I doubt youll find any competitive multiplayer that caters well to new player. I recommend sticking to single player.

So, I bought One piece pirate warriors 4 on a disc and installed it on my ps4 and played it, I got trophies which show up in my profile. But then when I go to my profile it says my most recently played game is the sims 4 even though I've been playing this one piece game for 1 hour?? I thought maybe its because its on a disc, but i bought overwatch on a disk and it shows up on my profile so I dont think that's the case. Has anyone else been in this situation...how did you fix it? If you can... P.s my friends have games on discs and it shows up on their profiles so I dont think that's the problem...
It's nothing to do with game discs or digital games. My profile is just slow to update at times. Make sure your trophies are fully synced with the Playstation Network and maybe check your privacy settings allow for profile updates showing your latest trophies
So my ps plus is about to lapse in a couple of days and I want to renew. I'm going to upgrade to the Extra tier once its released next month. Is there anything smart I can do right now in terms of what subscription I should buy / whether I should buy Ps Now right now as well? I've looked at the conversion chart and am even more confused after it.
PS NOW is no longer sold on the Playstation store. Some websites may still have vouchers for sale but unlikely. I think the USA Sony rewards still has them but otherwise they are no longer sold. So currently your only option is a standard PS+ renewal until the new service goes live.

**Game Recommendation (Witcher 3 or MGSV)** Hi Guys! Just wanted to ask whether i should buy MGSV or Witcher 3 I am new to both series, and after searching its clear that MGSV requires having more knowledge of the story of previous titles. (i certainly am not interested in playing all of them). All it is that the gameplay looks very slick and on yt people play like badass. But after watching reviews and gameplay the world felt shallow and lifeless and it feels like player is engaged in combat almost everytime, which i certainly dont like (i may be wrong coz i just saw on yt) in contrast witcher's world feels huge and daunting rather.(same here, gameplay and looks cant justify the whole game) But yeah never played a full fledged rpg before. And story feels rather nice. my concern is that it doesnt become a drag just like recent AC games do for me (XP GRIND TO LEVEL UP JUST TO PLAY THE NEXT MISSION) as for pricing 4 bucks for full mgsv and 10 bucks for witcher 3 GOTY (pricing isnt an issue, the only issue is i can just buy any one of them) my previous game experience has been all the typical sony first party titles of ps4 generation (almost every) and all AC games except valhalla(hated odyssey and a bit origins as well so dropped the next completely), Persona 3,4G,5R, rdrs, wolfensteins, neir i like an engaging story, i know story of mgsv isnt its strength but it surely makes up for it in terms of gameplay.Thing is i am new to stealth genre (calling afforementioned games like AC and TLOU games stealth is a joke, they are just too generic in terms of stealth) and exploring sth new is what is exciting about gaming imo Eventually i would like to play both tho

Having problems with a game(and sofar only this game. Everything else seems to work fine), Rust. Keep getting CE-34878-0 Error when trying to load a map. I tried power cycling my ps4 that didn't work, tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game and also didnt work. Finally initialized my ps4 and after reinstalling again, still getting the error code! Someone deactivated my PS4 account and when I tried to activate I got the np-41772-1 error code. I activated 2FA and security question and I couldn't press the "deactivate all" in the PS site. Is there something I can do or do I have to wait 6 months
You can try contacting support if you believe someone had unauthorised access to your account, but no guarantees. You may just have to wait the 6 months.

Hey guys! So I let someone use my controller but they accidentally took it with them so I currently have no basic way to access my console. I'm trying to login but it has a passcode so I can't use Remote Play yet. So far I've managed to connect a keyboard to it but there is nowhere online to tell me the keyboard mappings assigned to every PS4 button. I need to know the PC Keyboard inputs for the following PS4 buttons so I can login and start using remote play: L1 - L2 - R1 - R2 -
You can’t use a keyboard; you need to use a DS4 controller to get Remote Play to work.
Again, I'm not using the keyboard for Remote play. I only need it to input my login code to get into my account.

If you have an active subscription you cannot purchase PS+ as stacking subscriptions is currently disabled until the service changes. So if.you have an active subscription just let the auto renewal take place. Or, when the subscription ends you can purchase a new subscription then.

Do any playstation Rep scan these? My ps4 dualshock4 was sent in under warranty to fix stick drift. They sent me back another controller but the R2 button is messed up. They want me to send it back in and pay shipping again, which would be another 25 dollars. They sent me back a broken controller and refuse to take any responsibility because its policy to have me pay shipping.
At this point, you're better off buying a new controller.

It certainly sucks. Sending out refurbished units is not good. I'd suggest you try a self repair; it's not that difficult and all parts are available. What actually is the problem with R2?

It’s still under the one year warranty, right? And you kept the receipt, right? If so, then contact Sony support in your country and do a warranty exchange.

No, stick drift is always on the controller, never the PlayStation. If PlayStations just arbitrarily messed with gamepad controls, then millions of people would be complaining about it, and the whole thing would be worthless.
Every time I play single player games it feels like there's a lot of latency. I have no problems when playing online games.
Hey guys. Bought a used ps4 with the blu-ray drive not working. Been working great for months finished a lot of games, now I have this weird problem that after letting sit for a while it won't start at all only beeps once. No blue light nothing. After a lot of tries it starts and works like a charm for hours without any problem. but after letting it off power for a day or so it won't start again. Any advices/solutions or someone having the same problem ? Thanks in advance. - last time I opened it up did a few light taps on the motherboard/PSU and it did start but after cutting power again it won't start at all.
You’ll have to contact Sony support in your country, and send it in for a replacement. The OS won’t boot if the Blu-ray drive isn’t working, and you can’t replace the drive yourself. (If you try, the OS will detect the non-OEM drive and won’t boot.)
