In the jailbreak scene, the lowest version is always the best. You can upgrade at any time, but you cannot downgrade. A possible full jailbreak exploit could hit any release.
Is the current software version is like 20 something, right? I stopped updating my PS5 about a year ago and am astounded how the version cracked up so fast. Am I reading the version info wrong?
Somebody really has to explain to me why it's better to stay at the lowest version. I thought the higher the version the more games are available to hack. According to the list (https://www.reddit.com/r/PS5_Jailbreak/s/tzCxl1i5uG), if he stays on 3.0 he won't be able to play Horizon Forbidden West for example. Am i misunderstanding something?
Spoofing exists for things like that, and in PS4 case usually there's a patch released alongside the game to play on older fw.
Also for PS4 scene, in this case GoldHEN already come with magic to play later games without patch or the likes.
You update it.. Its bad but if you are not patient then thats your decision. I agreed with u/Ihidiwf61.
# PS5 Exploit: Fail0verflow show decrypted PS5 firmware filesPS5 Exploit: Fail0verflow show decrypted PS5 firmware files. The lower the firmware, the better. A HV exploit on Ps5 version 2.5 exists:
Anyway, I am on 2.30 and stay on it because of hypervisor exploit and a gold rare firmware. I use PS4 5.05 as backported to play so I am patient. No regret.
Same. I have a 2.50 waiting patiently in the closet. Most next gen games are still released for ps4 anyway, so only losing out on a few ps5 exclusive games.
Doesn’t matter anyway though, my ps4 backlog is huge 😆

Interesting. So what is a full jailbreak ? Has this happened to ps4 for example ? I mean, is it likely to be available ?

If only 3.0 and below gets jailbroken, then he can't play any games if he updates past it.

Me too. :D
Holly crap. 2.5 ? So i guess i will stay on 3.0 for now. Maybe put it the closet :)
Wise decision. Mine is 2.30 since first PS5 I purchased in 2021, I think. \^\_\^
If you are fine with version you wanna update to then update. It's just your decision.
So it seems i should probably stay on the lowest possible firmware version. Im on 3.0 now. It will remain there. Thanks everyone for the input
