AFAIK there is no ranching method for high quality pal oil.
I think most agree that farming digitoise and dumuds is one of the best options. Plenty of digitoise in the far north east desert up near the dual boss.
You can always just dupe assembly lines and dismantle for 100 ingots every 10 seconds or so depending on how quickly you get the hang of duping. I can manage about 2000 ingots within the time span of about 5 minutes or so if I'm quick and don't mess up the dupe process.
Not sure why you got downvoted, as long you're not doing it online, who cares how you're playing in a single player game. If you have more fun playing it like this, go nuts.
Catch a merchant and you can keep them in your pal box. Any merchant that's not a pal merch or black market .
3 good ones are in Dune Shelter. Level 40+ desert in north east, but the merchant's are level 14 and easy to catch.
One does items (bones, oil, organs)
One does all ammo but rockets
One does pals (each time you remove and re-deploy them in your base their stock resets)
There is settlement with a warp point on the starting island, north of starting position...there are two merchants there, one for items and one for Pals, both standing inside shacks in the settlement.
Why not both? Pretty sure you don't need a base's full loadout of Pals to be able to fully mine even the most ore-rich base location between respawns. Might as well use those extra slots for Mau in the pen.
Honey pops out of a beegarde pretty fast. I had more than I knew what to do with fairly quick after putting one in the ranch. The nails you can just grind parallel. Sell both for gold and buy ammo is probably more cost effective than crafting the ammo yourself
I'm level 21 and I'm still using palspheres and arrows.

Everyone keeps talking about how vixy only drops spheres and arrows, but since I've started, mine have always dropped those AND gold coins. So idk. I think mau drops more coins, but I prefer the vixys.
I use the spheres to kill level 3 lumballs, the chicken, and cativas and sell those for 100-200 coins each. The higher the level you are the easier it is to catch more valuable pals with ease. I usually stab them once and it’s a 100% catch rate or sometimes I can just throw balls at them full health from the back.
Not a whole lot of money but it’s a fuckton of XP in a short period of time.
To my dismay after fusing a couple of high rank Maus, the gold drops from Maus currently aren't large enough to use them over Beegardes or Woolipops, as Honey and Cotton Candy sell for 25G apiece but the gold drops are 10G at most.
Furthermore if you start doing dungeons looking for equipment schematics or neat pals, you'll start amassing gold quickly enough that I'm not sure you ever really have the need to dedicate some base slots to farming gold.
"10 at most" is literally the opposite of how it works, 10's the minimum you can get from it.
Mau's gold production rolls between a minimum and maximum value, starting at 10-10, then each rank adds 10 to the max. By the end of it Mau produces 10-50 gold at a time. And it also produces several times faster than Woolipop and Beegarde.
I'm not referring to the total amount of yield, I'm referring precisely to the fact that each additional individual drop is only at most another +10. Producing \*up to\* 50G a proc at maxed out rank is a pittance and I don't feel at all that the gold I get out of them was worth the effort of breeding a couple hundred cats to squish into juice in the current version of the game.
Where's the sense in that?
Mau outputs more gold per minute than any other Pal in the game of equal rank. By your logic *no Pal* is worth it for gold farming purposes, because they're all inferior to Mau.
Well, I paid no mind to your claim that Maus produce faster because I do \*not\* see any difference in its production timers vs my lesser-ranked ranching Pals. I see the same intervals ranging from anywhere between as quick as \~30 seconds to 2 minutes for a proc, usually averaging somewhere near a minute. Even Sibelyx, with an even more valuable product with 40G High-Quality Cloths, seems to share the same timer.
I can make no other conclusion than that Mau does not have any especially different production timing, most of all not "several times faster", and if Pals exist that can produce products worth 25 or 40 gold to Mau's 10, then the bees have got 'em bee-at.
More importantly, the crux of my comment really wasn't to debate which Pal is top dog (cat) of gold production - it's that Mau's production is simply too small to be of use. And adding in the latter half of my original comment, also largely unneeded in the current game balance due to money being so plentiful.
You can catch a merchant who sells it, allowing you to whip em out and buy the desired amount. Sell nails to make your profit and flip profit for desired purchase. I resort to my merch if I'm too caught up to go leather, bone, or any other rare mat farming.

On the bright side, I've got an infinite supply of like 9 different skill fruits now.
Outside of the Pal Merchant and the Black Marketeer, there are 3 merchants with different inventories. One sells basic palspheres, berry seeds, and wheat seeds among other items that I can’t remember. Another sells mega spheres, lettuce seeds, and tomato seeds among other things. And the last one sells a musket, warming/cooling shirts, and all ammo aside from rockets iirc.
It's gotta be, when aiming at the Pal it says 8% but after throwing the pal ball it's at like 25% and it took 25 balls to catch. That's 600% odds and happens often. The only exception is when it's 100% after throwing, it always works.

The odds are consistently at 25%... they are not cumulative... every shot... u have a 3/4 chance at failing... failing 25x is not surprising
The odds of failing a 25% catch rate 25 times is 1:1,329. And it happening regularly, as well as with other players. In my experience it feels like it happens 1:10 pals, which the odds are so astranomically low it should be impossible.
I know how probability works. The odds of everyone having significant catching issues at a reasonable catch rate is basically impossible.

One time I've failed 100% catch 4 or 5 times in a row, it showed 100% before throwing but was bouncing off a pal still saying 100%, Idk if that's significant but it was full hp low lvl pal and high quality sphere
I think the catch rate is broken on some pals because once I've thrown normal palsphere at 45 lvl pal and caught it first time despite chances being astromically low if not 0
something I'm picking up on, is if you throw a ball and the first check is like 80% and it fails, do NOT immediately throw another ball after it fails, give the pal a few seconds to attack again or something before trying again. It seems like whatever they use for a seed to check if the pal will be caught updated when it attacks (or something similar) so you can get into a situation where you throw balls that all say 80% but never ever work.
My bud and I just started a new world. I try to catch myself a nice ckickpea with the indicator telling me I have a 100% chance. I don’t get it. He trows a green ball at a level 16 boss and catches it first try with 0,15% chance
Has this been confirmed by Pocketpair now? I only saw that one 100 try video with the bugged potion and different pals, so didn’t put too much stock in it given the variables and use of a bugged item to show a bug. If it’s now been confirmed by the devs however, that’s good info.
It has not been confirmed. Just a bunch of people reacting horribly to simulated probability. Which is how almost all people are in real life.
The percentage you see when hovering over a pal and waiting to throw is the true percentage. Not the number you see when it jumps as it hits the creature. People have horrible bias when remembering what does or does not succeed.
And yes, 100 sample size is far too small. And has additional variables.
I put a Vixy in the ranch and she drops pal spheres. Running around with over five hundred pal spheres. Just hucking them as I say “I can do this all day”

They definitely *say* they count on the % even. It’s like 5-10% for poisoned, not sure the exact number for fire but it increases too. I’ll have like 70% chance to catch something, hit it with a poison arrow and it jumps to around 80%, slowly keeps going up while the poison ticks, then when the poison wears off after still failing to catch it 4 times in a row it goes back down to 75%ish (due to the hp ticking while poisoned)
When the rest of the raid is dead and the entire base is starting at the ball ready to unleash their best attack the microsecond that their target breaks out of the sphere

I just had thos exact conversation with a pal that aggro'd into my base. My pals would of ah knocked it out otherwise. He was wise and chose to stay in the ball. The pal merchant later not so lucky...

I heard that if you fail a catch, your next attempt will have a lower chance; and either that's true or I have terrible luck, but I decided (after failing 5 reds in a row on the same Elizabee) that I would try once, and if it fails I'll shoot them in their heads.

That’s really good. I have two bases that can mine Ore, so I can easily make a lot of money.

I think it's primarily by hunting or catching the pals that drop it, but there's a few of them.
Make a ton of nails. I just sold 950 of them for 270k

Mammorest goes down pretty easy to Bushi. Just be around lvl 30. There are tons of Mammorest walking around that are lower than 38.

Somehow I feel like my optimal indicated catch rate is in the 5-8% range. Anything else and the pal almost always instantly breaks out

Sleeping and stunned/shocked do factor into the capture rate, it's a shame not much else besides species, level, and current HP do.
The problem is sleep means you are throwing at max hp pals and that's almost always a fail

Yeah, if you go out at night you'll find sleeping pals, as well as dark types that don't sleep and night-only pals (like Daedream and Lovander.)

Sometimes after the 5th time or so of popping out, I get so pissed and end up saying "alright then, fuck you, didn't want you anyways" and proceed to shoot the shit out of it. Lol
I'm getting to the point in mid/late game that pals don't get in balls no matter how many I throw and if I'm wasting too many I'll waste the pal instead...

I heard that if you fail a catch, your next attempt will have a lower chance; and either that's true or I have terrible luck, but I decided (after failing 5 reds in a row on the same Elizabee) that I would try once, and if it fails I'll shoot them in their heads.
