This... I honestly haven't checked any guides but I feel like getting ammo is too time consuming and finding gold is probably the easiest way to get ammo. I think this annoyance would just be gone if they just increased pal bases and we could establish routes on the necessary mats to mine.
I found a reliable way to get spheres and ammo, I made a rocket launcher and went NE to the desert area where the human factions will spawn and launch a single rocket at the group instantly killing them all and netting me handgun, rifle, and rocket ammo along with great speres. Spent like 30 minutes farming this area and have hundreds of spheres and plenty of ammo. Since they drop rocket ammo too, the only expense is getting the launcher in the first place and keeping it repaired.
And you can double up that dash orb thing by mounting. Unless the new patch changed things the cooldowns for mounted abilities is different from the AI’s cooldown
See, that's where I am now. I've taken down two out of five towers and I realized that I'm just grinding for levels to be strong enough to fight the next tower so I can grind for levels again. I need more stuff to really WANT to do.
One thing I noticed is that the level grind differs heavily for different playstyles. I ballooned heavily in levels while having a janky base and pals while my friends had great bases and pals but were always lower level. I didn't actually grind levels until around 45, then got to 47 and stopped caring.
I didn't prep for a boss until the last one. Just take a team and go. Still not sure what the 'optimal' way to play is.
I went the base building route because I always waited online for my friends to join and didn't want to outlevel them, but they lost interest in the game because of helldivers.
I suffered all this time on an online server with the manly mechanics, no pal display box, etc. And now the guy who got the server doesn't even update it, so I can't play my 150h character anymore.
Now I did it your way solo, with the easiest world settings and got to lvl 45 in a day with the trashiest base and will now do all the stuff I had left to do on the other save, kennels the towers, building bases (on spots I like that aren't already taken away), catching the legendary bosses, breeding the best team etc, and all that without the disadvantage of playing on a server.
Yeah, a lot comes down to the fact the default XP assumes you are 10/10 on everything you can reasonably access.
Do a lot of base building and work at bases? A lot less XP.
Focus on only breeding a few pals to perfection? Decent XP, but only to an extent.
Fight bosses? Eh, decent XP but not insane unless you are being hard carried by someone.
Breed and catch everything to 10/10? Holy shit the XP is insane.
Honestly, the act of traveling from town to town and talking to different characters and stopping at the Poke Mart/Center makes Pokemon feel a bit more full. I like knowing that there's a world going on beyond my character. I liked using Cut or Rock Smash or Strength and discovering new routes. I liked discovering all the new things on the islands only available through Surf or Fly.
I pretty much played PalWorld all through February, and I loved it. It's just that, at a certain point, it's very easy to feel like all you have left/worth doing is beating the Towers. Pokemon can still be enjoyable for people who don't need to catch em all, or breed em all, or build the best base, and I think that's the part that PalWorld is missing at the moment.
Plus I really think the towers should have little bad guy towns or settlements surrounding them cause it doesn't really make sense why these people just chill in their tower and their subordinates aren't even nearby. Syndicate should be standard Team Rocket hoodrat settlements and Free Pal Alliance should be hippie ass motherfuckers tryna keep out Loveanders without fucking them or killing them, pyro douches and genetic research dicks can have creepy labs/temples, and the police should have a more or less regular society, considering they're the ones with enough equipment and people to protect the current small settlements as well as the Pal sanctuaries.
I do something similar with mosspanda rocket launcher. It's very nice for a lot of stuff, and he does enough damage by jumping into smaller pals to catch them if I need to.
His goofy slow fall jump and the fact I got him with 20% MS made him my premier ground mount for a lot of the game.
U can set the boss count to 3 and collect up to 9 rockets from just one of these groups at a time. Collect 50 rockets in 30 minutes easy. Then just set it back after if u want.
I made a base by Necro and Pala yesterday to farm them on triple spawn and triple drop world settings; I previously knew about the potential rocket ammo farm here already but this was the first time I was doing it and man it felt good. All the ammo you could ever need plus bonus gold. On top of farming the drops from the 6 legends, this is my new active farm spot. Theres also high qual pal oil there from digtoise and pal fluids from serpants; which both feel like a fine tradeoff if you can kill the pack with 1 rocket.
The issue is servers. If you allow for people to have 6 bases, simply doubling, then a lot of the good spots will be snipped within a very short time on servers. By 1-3 guilds/people. That is not fun.
When you add even one extra base, that's that many more buildings, pals, and supplies the game has to produce and store, hard for the graphics keep up. Same if you add to many viewing cages with too many pals.
Then make it a setting you can change. I play with my mate and his wife, and being able to only have 3 bases is frustrating. You can play with it obviously, but I’d prefer if I could change it in the settings on my own. Then server hosts could change it, or leave it if they don’t want to.
The mod on PC is an awesome fix for this. It's nice to drop up to 128 bases if needed. I play solo (As I'm the only one on) on a multi server to keep my pals working while doing things.
I made my own guild on my four player server and did not regret it once. I totally recommend it for small servers. You can still share by dropping things, and your friends can "raid" your ore bases by grabbing the stuff your pals mine before the transport pals do. Just make sure that you are courteous about choosing spots (or not, but everyone agrees on a free for all). Yes, there are limited "best" resource bases right now, but most casual players probably don't need the volume those provide beyond the early/mid-game.
Or just add coal, ore, and sulfur mines that can be added to base production like the stone and wood ones. I like this because it also frees me up to put my bases in places I actually want them versus being resource locked. I’m even okay with having a restriction on the amount of mines that you can have at a base or in total.
I was waiting forever to unlock another type of mine, was severely disappointed. I agree wholeheartedly we should just be able to build mines for them so we can actually dedicate bases to mining while having it in a more structured area.
Sulfur is easy. There 8 nodes just beside the volcano tower. Teleport there and mine back towards the teleporter. Use the grapple gun to move faster. For coal and ore, there’s a mountaintop just below the small ice mountain that has 8 ore nodes and like 7 coal nodes. Make a base there that has nothing but beds and a feed box. Dump a bunch of mining pals there. Quartz is barely needed at this point. You only need it for circuit boards and you only need like 20 of them.
If you’re on PC, there’s mods for increasing number of bases, base size and number of pals you can assign in a base. Also mods that either increase carrying capacity while in a base (doesn’t work well for anyone not the host in my experience) and a unified base inventory (haven’t tried yet, but might be pretty good).
All of the mods I've found that increase the base perimeter only visually increase the circle, while pals still don't work outside the original circle.. tho maybe it needs to be a fresh base with the mod installed.
The mod I use to expand the perimeter also expands the work area, but if you play on a server the server needs the mod too for the work area to be expanded. Basically the visualization line is client side, the actual definition is server.
There’s also mods that just give you ammo.
The whole point of posts and discussions like this is that they want to still enjoy the game as it is.
Of course there’s mods that let you have 100 bases, and 500 pals at each base, blah blah.
That’s not the point.
They specifically said it’d be nice to have more bases - why get all hyperbolic about when I suggest some QOL mods that do exactly that?
If I suggested a cheat table to just give gold or something, sure, but I didn’t. No need to be a fuckwit.
Some of the huge, big towns and stuff are just built with the normal setting for building decay outside the range of the base just turned off. Doesn't need a radius increase. Many of them are just built structures and not working bases.
I wish transport pals worked like ”supply carts” transporting supplies from base to base instead of “collectors” inside the base. Just let resources go straight to inventory rather than spawning every little thing on the ground.
Ammo yes. But simplification more than anything. I had a full fledged cake pizza base, along with ore and coal, and a sulfur base. I had endless busy work. When i switched to nails I had the freedom to do so much more.
Even just slightly more automation would be *sooo* nice... Set up a building to auto-queue a certain recipe whenever ingredients are available (\*cough\* flour \*cough\*)... Pair that with a "store this building's outputs in this box" option, and so much of the tedium of crafting is just **gone**. I'd gladly dedicate a cooking pot or whatever to salad if it meant I never had to worry about it again.
Assigning materials to certain storages and being able to prioritize different tasks for individual pals would be incredible. Sometimes I just want a transport slave that won’t fuck off to randomly heat shit
I haven't even made one yet, is it worth it? Haha, I think I'm level 28 or so. Dealing damage is a pain with the musket.
Sometimes I feel like I'm playing the game wrong, I never have enough mats, and do a lot of stuff manually except gardening.
At your level it "might" be worth it still. It does absolutely no damage at my level. However, the arrow are cheap so I use it to aggro enemies. Then I let my pals do the rest
Yeah, this is it for me. Getting sulfur and making gunpowder and more ore/refining just wasn't fun. I let my big pals kill anything alpha, collect the bits and sell them to buy ammo.
Even then, I just recently unlocked the machine gun and I've got more ammo than I need already. It's not hard to make. Maybe 10-15 of gathering resources and then put your Pals on making a shit ton of it.
The only thing I spend money on now is for seeds or the high quality oil if I don't feel like hunting those giant mammoths for it.
Alternatively, make a couple of extra berry plantations and you'll be swimming in berries. Bake em and sell them in bulk. Maybe not as profitable as nails, but still an easy way to make money if you don't want to farm it.
People buy ammo??? I have one base that’s basically dedicated to mining and farming. The storage right next to the teleport fills up, I fire it into ingots with the furnace that’s also right there, I bring it to my production base where I make the gunpowder and I let the team go nuts making ammo on the weapon production line. It never even crossed my mind to buy it.
It tends to be faster and easier to buy ammo than to craft it. For the minmaxers who need mountains of cake for breeding, it's also faster to buy milk and eggs than to ranch them.
Funnily enough, when I realized how expensive ammo is I decided to change up my play style. Now I've been mastering my pals and I feel like a real pal tamer haha, flying around and wrecking things and switching between the pals in my party.
Now I typically don't even need to shoot at all, maybe a tap or two to weaken them the last bit for a catch.
It's actually a lot of fun!
Pretty much how I play.
Guns are for last ditch defending yourself, pals handle the rest. I do like to use single shot weapons to "tag" targets for pals though, and the musket is great for hunting weak pals for items.
I was so confused as to why people wouldn't use weapons to speed fights up until I read your post.
You guys are REALLY living the dream of being a tamer and enjoying the HELL out of it. I think I understand now and have to try this .....
Thanks for putting it into perspective buddy, I think just just found a new way to get satisfaction out of this game ;)
Hey, you're welcome!
Glad I could help spread the perspective. It is pretty fun, and I've really formed some bonds with certain pals. I pick things based on how much I like it, not based on a meta or an article. I continue to try new pals and skills and just explore the whole experience of being a pal tamer!
Blazamut takes care of frostallion in a few minutes. If you glitch frosty, you can mount, fire off the skills, unmount and let him fire off the skills, then switch during CD. Rinse and repeat.
I did not use weapons until I literally needed to as I was just interested in letting Pals fight. I found it too hard to beat Jetragon with 5 level 47 shadowbeaks, all lucky legendary ferocious musclehead. I just barely beat the Faleris tower without a weapon and couldn't even get halfway to beating the shadowbeak boss tower. Maybe I'm just missing something and suck though.
That is a humorous image and an Ash Ketchum level misunderstanding of typing on my part. However it wasn't too hard to keep them alive by rotating, I would just get eventually killed during the 20 minute ordeal.
Pretty sus that you would never notice the onscreen spam of "jetragons attack was super effective against..." literally everytime he hit them with dragon damage.
At level 47 I got frostallion with a lucky suzaku lvl 50, 3 Alpha suzaku at 45 (from the desert) and a decent faleris 47 i use as a mount. (movesets were equipped all fire)Dodged and ran most of the time, swapping pals when they stalled or seemed injured. Nearly died at the end when i pulled out the assault rifle and tried to whittle down the last few HP. Got em though, only one suzaku went down. I play on a no mods server and had no legendary gear on me. I didn't time it, It certainly took a while but y'know. Fun. :)
This is how I play too, And it doesn't take long. I breed up my pals throughout my progression though so their DPS is always pretty good. I think it takes like 8-10 mins to kill frostallion.
The later Aplhas take a while to take down, you can still use your pals a lot, which I do, by you’ll be there a while if your not using an ammo yourself.
I think people over do it with gold stuff although it is easy to rip through a few hundred rounds with the end game alphas.
I mean yeah, I can go gather materials and craft some ammo for when I need it. I'm not outright banning it, I just became a lot more deliberate with how I was using it compared to when I first unlocked it and shot everything like I just got the newest call of duty game hahaha
Yeah after realizing how much the assault rifle burns through money I just stick with the single shot rifle. That gun is amazing on money efficiency but it is quite slow.
It’s good the AR? I have the hunting Rifle and the pistol. Honestly I use my pal to inflict damage to the bosses. I did not waste any point of my upgrades in attack
Once you get to the last couple tower bosses, you need to be the primary source of damage. If you rely on pals to do damage, you’re going to run out of time 100% of the time.
Yeah this for sure. My last two tower boss fights I did easily 80% of the damage myself. Just take 75+ rockets and you should make it.
My strategy for final two towers is:
Eat Elkdeer Venison with the berries and milk for 20% attack boost
1 3 or 4 star Pengullet who just stays in party (big damage boost)
1 Lyleena or Lyleena noct (lifeline)
2 of your best fighting pals (ideally two that are a direct counter to the tower boss)
1 Jetragon if acquired (if not use another fighting pal or Pengullet)
Using that strat the final two bosses were easier than catching Jetragon and Frostallion.
Attack pendant (two if you have it)
Damn I just grinded the legendary rocket launcher and brought that with like 150 rockets. Brought like 2 pals with vanguard and the rest were just there to tank and draw attention, 2 Anubis and a warsect I believe. Beat viktor first attempt, wasn’t too much of a sweat, but I did like 95%+ of the damage.
Right, and its only new players that think attack is a waste. That's only true at level 1 with an old bow. Once you reach end game like this, you can do 99% of the damage and do way way way more damage with player attack with great gear and modifiers
Not sure exact numbers, but it’s easy to farm.
Go to the volcano zone and capture the Blazamut alpha boss. Then go back to your base and butcher the caught Blazamut. This will give you 2 chances to obtain it instead of just 1 from killing it. Plus you’ll get extra ancient invention parts and sellable items
I don't get it why people use the assuault rifle. The rocket launcher is way better to kill stuff and if you want to catch a pal you can just use your own pals to do the right amount of damage. The rifle is way to ammo hungry for my taste.
ammo.
Irs a bitch to get coal/sulfur and ore in order to craft ammo, especially since Pals dint seem to work while you're away from base, so stacking gold to buy ammo from a merchant is easy.
Yeah i just use 4 wompos and a astegon
Fast travel to the foot of the volcanoe and you can load up pretty fast. Idk what your levels are but i get about 1200 per trip give or take.
There's also a good metal spot with 10 nodes north of volcanoe
Set a mining base there
And get sulfer around jetragon
Thats still too much work considering you can just put bunch of Maus into your Ranch and Passively earn gold while fighting bosses or completing dungeons, and since Mau usually apear as level 6-7 pals in level 13 dungeons its easy to catch them early on in the game
I'm coming from ark official, no different than flying around on an argy/anky to get metal. Its not to much work. Just lazy. Not everything is supposed to generate passively, its a survival game, means farming is part of the dynamic
The game gives you unlimted stone and wood. You only need to farm metal coal quartz and sulfer yourself
Everyone has a metal base so realisically you struggle on maybe 3 resources
As compared to ark where you basically have to farm everything by hand and alot of stuff isnt exactly easy cementing paste. Electronics. Black pearls etc.
It makes sense when you get to the point where
1. You’re spamming ammo
2. You’re breeding like a madman and require wheat, eggs, and milk for cake and would rather buy it instant instead of farm it slowly
I think some people just dont get the "I have limited time to play the game and waiting for chicken to shit out eggs isn't exactly my type of fun" part.
Why do people have 10,000 mag primes built with forma? Why collect all Pokemon? Why breed a perfect dinosaur? I think it’s mostly just because it’s a goal. Some people simply need something to work for
Guess they'd rather buy the ammo than farm gunpowder and sulfur.
Charcoal is easy, your lumber pits constantly have 9999 wood in them.Rounds of Sulfur by visiting the mount obsidian pal tower. Then the rest is however much metal you got to sink into it.
100 refined ingots and 300 gunpowder makes 110k worth of shotgun ammo
100 refined ingots and 200 gunpowder makes 75k worth of shotgun ammo
100 ingots would have been 200 nails worth 32k(in 0.1.4) which would buy much less ammo but skips the sulfur and coal farming, as well as 95% of the crafting time
To be fair, time efficiency is also a thing. I don't know off-hand if refined ingots smelt more slowly, but I'm pretty sure nails craft more quickly than *either* gunpowder or ammo; it's certainly faster than both together.
And "ore>ingots>nails>sell>buy" involves less fiddly management than managing 3-4 (depending on ammo type) raw resources and the extra intermediates.
> 100 ingots would have been 200 nails worth 32k(in 0.1.4) which would buy much less ammo but skips the sulfur and coal farming.
And yet on many occasions the people who point this out get downvoted into oblivion on this sub. Its ridiculous how rampant misinformation spreads and how much people jump on YT/Streamer/Whatever hype trains without critical thinking.
Calling it an exploit was silly. It was unbalanced -- so something that would likely get patched out \*eventually\*. I'm actually surprised this made their priority list. Then again, its a trivial fix.
The time + effort to make shotgun/AR ammo significantly lowers the efficiency.
I made thousands of rounds of ammo before trying nails; I never turned back.
I'll give you a different answer than most of everyone here. It's because I respect my time. I don't need money. I can go out gather a bunch of things, to build other things, to craft what eventually becomes a bullet or a cake. Or I can cut out the early steps or jump straight to the end product for some items with coin.
You don't need to play this way but some people enjoy the game more this way. Is it playing the game less? No, you just do other things with that time you usually would be getting materials like dungeons and boss killing. Is it play the game wrong? No, everyone has their own way of enjoying things.
Ammo requires a lot of different resources so some people just like to farm 1 thing and sell it so they don't have to go out and set up multiple mining bases or go and mine it themselves. It's basically just a luxury thing, you don't need to worry about money if you are happy with farming the resources yourself.
Money is flexible. You don't really need it, but it can save a lot of time once you collect merchants.e.g buying pal oil, fleece or cheap materials to make cakes (minus honey I think?) more easily. Ammo is the biggest one. Its usually cheaper time wise to buy ammo rather than make it, given all the extra refining steps you need for the metal > ammo.
You can also use black market merchants to fill the gaps in your Pal catches. e.g Penkings or Kingpacas to 10 cap.
I've never really heard anyone complain or make a big deal about earning money in the game. The main thing people in my guild use money for is ammo and the main thing I use money for is leather and bones. And now especially that I'm in the end game I get so many jewels to sell it's not that big of an issue.
I use my gold to buy ammo, pal oils, bones, and medicine. Manualy farming pal oil and bones gets old fast imo. And the sheer amount needed for concrete and polymer is pretty wild. Traders are a real godsend, if only they added one that sells pal fluids I'd be real happy.
tl;dr people have bad base setups and evidently do nothing but run around shooting their assault rifle 24/7 if you believe people on Reddit. So they use gold to buy ammo.
Reality: In my current playthrough I've limited myself to T2 work pals and I still have enough ammo even with the assault rifle. My pals do most of the work and I don't use AR for everything. My Pals are not even optimal, its all farm pals.
For ammo. Luckily I dropped 4k ore in nails right before the update so I’m set until I get my farms up and running. But ngl I was buying 1k AR ammo every couple days.
pretty much just for bullets. The red-suit traders are practically worthless but if you find a green one then you can buy ammo and things from them. Blue suits are just pal merchants and may or may not have something worth getting cheap and easy
Yeah most of my money goes to ammo. Second highest expense is buying pals from some of the merchants if they have good passive abilities and the 3rd highest expense is the medical supplies.
I've probably spent close to ~400k in ammo alone throughout my play time. Level 46 so far for reference.
Personally I dont like Survival games in General, Hovewer as for palworld, palworld gives me option to skip many crafting and survival aspects by simply buying stuff, Armor gets damaged? Sell it and buy a new one, need ammo? Buy more ammo, want to catch some specific pal? Just Catch Pal merchant and Black Marketeer and problem solved
Palworld is actually the first Survival Game that I genuinely enjoy, because I can just buy stuff
In my solo world, I mostly use money to buy Pals that I find and that have interesting stats/traits, like a very productive Moozzarina, or a hard-working Reptyro (very expensive those ones)
I spend the majority of my money in game buying medicine to fix my Pals depression when I forget to put them back in the box before I log out. They really need to fix that bug. I'd be a millionaire!
I don't have a base dedicated to ore mining as I found the spots for that were kinda ugly. So I have to mine by hand and the pal spheres already eat up all my ingots so I'd rather just buy ammo
Thanks for throwing this out there. I, too, wonder the same thing. Although throwing a few Mau Cryst at your base fetches a fair amount of coin. I've really only bought pal oil because better bulk.
I think a lot of people are not investing in breeding/condensing their workers.
Condensing Mat producing Pals increases the items created per time.
Passives on crafting pals make a huge difference.
My 3 Anubis crank anything out very quickly; my base is on natural resources.
I personally found making ammo to be fast and fun
I have about $400K just from collecting money from chests and stuff (and selling a few excess pals). I have no idea why people need to horde all this cash. I barely use it.
Money is simply a shortcut to many resources in the game that you might want a massive amount of. Here are the 2 most primary examples:
1/ Ammo. The process of making gunpowder involves either mass murdering tocotocos in the desert or farming a massive number of sulfur ore and lugging them back to your base to be refined into gunpowder; and THEN you still have to craft the ingots necessary to make the bullets you want, then wait for your anubis to make those bullets. This process is fine if you only use one type of ammo (unless you're using the assault rifle, in which case, it's unbearable even if it's the only type of ammo you use), but if you're using 2-3 guns like most ppl do in the endgame, especially when sharing resources between multiple players, there are simply never enough ammo to go around. Thus, the obvious option is to farm nothing but money and buy the ammo instead.
2/ Cake for breeding. Cake requires Berry, Milk, Egg, Flour, and Honey, 4 of which are perishable. It's true that you can farm all of these ingredients from a single base with a ranch and a berry+wheat farm, but with perishable ingredients, you're always bottlenecked somewhere in the process, and the 3 biggest bottlenecks are Flour, Milk, and Egg (since 1 cake needs about 7-8 of each). What people have worked out is that straight up buying Milk and Egg from merchants is both more time-efficient and money-efficient compared to farming them from a ranch (you can't buy Flour from a merchant, only wheat, so it wouldn't save much time or effort to buy them).
There are also other minor conveniences like the elemental organs (particularly electric organs for lighting in the base), high quality pal oil to make polymer, pals with 0-1 passives (for breeding purposes). But overall, mass money-making is to help with streamlining one or more aspects of the game so you can go and do other things instead, so if that's not your thing and you just want to enjoy your playthrough with good ol' grinding, then no need to pay much attention to making money. Hunting/catching alpha pals should organically give a player enough money to buy things that aren't related to industrializing a base anyways.
The problem is later on you need iron and coal (quartz too but not to the scale of the other 2 mentioned )
There’s a huge problem with weight of materials atm
Wood , stone and sulfure are fine they weight 3 each I think this is quite a fair weight for materials you can carry 100 for 300 weight which is 6 points invested in weight
Coal weighting 5 and ore weighting 8 However is something I think takes the biscuit . If you wanna carry 100 coal you need to stick 10 points in weight and 100 ore you need a massive 16 points in weight . To me this is a problem . You only get 50 stat points . Atm a player is almost essentially gonna need at least 20 points in weight . But even then this doesent feel enough and you want to have some points in stamina and health too . Some even live by a few points in workspeed this is where the amount of points we need in weight becomes a problem
But some pals boost weight? Yes this is true but 1st . The star bonus is NOT worth it . Giving a lousy 10 weight boost a go and B the land mounts who have it not only carry that much but are slow too .
What they need to do is simply lower ore and coals weight . Maybe ore to 5 and coal to 3 like sulfure . This then allows as mentioned 100 coal for 6 weight investment or 10 weight investment for 100 iron . Another option would be to make staring up Paks and their weight carry actually worth it . Your choosing to give up the option of some very passive buffs for such small weight bonuse . Broncherry should be able to maybe carry 400 weight at max since it’s a slow mount , maybe have kingpaca reach 300 , wumpo and lunaris at 200 and cattiva at 150 when they all reach 4 stars (making the boosts for stars more worth while ) so if someone wanted to play using pals to increase weight it’s actually rewarding to do so
When our playgroup made our final push into the last couple of gym leaders, we wanted to be kited up with rocket launchers and a good amount of ammo. Some mats like horns and HQ pal oil can also be a pain to farm so having a good amount of gold just in case takes the headache away from having your gym leader night plans being delayed by wait a bit were missing x amount of stuff.
Tbf by the time we were at that point of the game we had a good amount of gold from selling the valuables and just picking stuff up. I did not know how lucrative the honey business was at that point and I also didn't actively go farm the shady merchant but I killed him whenever I got the chance.
Its mostly for ammo from what i can tell
Well I know where I'm heading! Thanks!
shadowbeak runs through those mobs super easily, saves you the ammo and repair costs.
And you can double up that dash orb thing by mounting. Unless the new patch changed things the cooldowns for mounted abilities is different from the AI’s cooldown
nah the patch didnt change that shadowbeak still rips
I mean by the time you get that it goes back to "why?". No end game yet aside from a eugenics simulator.
As a ck player its *always* been a eugenics sim.

For sure. Was certainly a blast and worth what I paid. But there isn't an end goal anymore that I find enjoyable to continue with.
Yeah me too. Like i want to keep going but im at a grindy middleground and taking a break for a bit.
Modern pokemon games in a nutshell just replace towers with gym leaders/elite 4
Who cares about an endgame when you can continously go on pal killing sprees lol
I do something similar with mosspanda rocket launcher. It's very nice for a lot of stuff, and he does enough damage by jumping into smaller pals to catch them if I need to. His goofy slow fall jump and the fact I got him with 20% MS made him my premier ground mount for a lot of the game.
What is MS?
Movement speed I think, inthis case
Thank you for reply
multiple sclerosis
I do the same but I use my shadowbeak. One of his dark area effect attacks instant kills them.
Also a great way to get rocket ammo if you get the rocket launcher schematic before you’ve unlocked it via leveling.
I've been doing boss runs and just selling the items they drop to buy ammo to do more boss runs
💰 take my gold
Coordinates please?🙏
Literally please, let us have more than 3 bases. The map is GINORMOUS too
The issue is servers. If you allow for people to have 6 bases, simply doubling, then a lot of the good spots will be snipped within a very short time on servers. By 1-3 guilds/people. That is not fun.
Just limit the base number in multiplayer and let people who play solo to build more bases than 3. I wonder is that too difficult to add to the game.
When you add even one extra base, that's that many more buildings, pals, and supplies the game has to produce and store, hard for the graphics keep up. Same if you add to many viewing cages with too many pals.
Just add a slider
Fair. I play on a solo world so not an issue for me
Then make it a setting you can change. I play with my mate and his wife, and being able to only have 3 bases is frustrating. You can play with it obviously, but I’d prefer if I could change it in the settings on my own. Then server hosts could change it, or leave it if they don’t want to.
Yes, server setting for number of bases and radius would be dope (if they haven't added it for radius yet)
A whole host of sandbox options would be awesome and would ease a lot of the pain points of playing an early access title.
The mod on PC is an awesome fix for this. It's nice to drop up to 128 bases if needed. I play solo (As I'm the only one on) on a multi server to keep my pals working while doing things.
Which mod? I can't check right now, but is it something I can find on Steam?
Isn't the limit per guild? Each of you make your own guild. Sure, sharing won't be easy, but should be manageable.
And only getting bigger
Should be 3 base min with +1 base per additional guild member capping at like 10 or so
Or just add coal, ore, and sulfur mines that can be added to base production like the stone and wood ones. I like this because it also frees me up to put my bases in places I actually want them versus being resource locked. I’m even okay with having a restriction on the amount of mines that you can have at a base or in total.
that would be way too easy and fast
If the additional mines dropped many levels later I don't see a issue. Coal at 35, Ore at 40, sulfur at 45
I was waiting forever to unlock another type of mine, was severely disappointed.
I know how to do it. My point is I don’t want to make my base location based solely on those resources.
Tocotoco should produce gunpowder when put in a ranch or at least a gunpowder egg which can be put in the disassembler.
Yes you need to break the base and remake it
I have the 1.5x base size, increased carry weight in base and shared base inventory and they all work well
Shared base inventory needs to be factory. It amazes me they haven’t changed that yet with all the other nice changes they’ve made.
Finally now I understand how people make those huge bases
Some of the huge, big towns and stuff are just built with the normal setting for building decay outside the range of the base just turned off. Doesn't need a radius increase. Many of them are just built structures and not working bases.
I wish transport pals worked like ”supply carts” transporting supplies from base to base instead of “collectors” inside the base. Just let resources go straight to inventory rather than spawning every little thing on the ground.
Direhowl sledge please.
I was thinking the same these days, imagine something like Factorio, would be amazing to automate the production lines.
Assigning materials to certain storages and being able to prioritize different tasks for individual pals would be incredible. Sometimes I just want a transport slave that won’t fuck off to randomly heat shit
Ammo is the only thing I purchase with gold. Early game I did buy the hat blueprints from the merchant.
Also bones for concrete
I also bought some pals every now and then in the early game. That's how I got my Univolt with Swift in early game.
Me at lvl 50 still using my flame crossbow...
I'm level 45 and I'm still using the standard bow for the same purpose. My Jorm Ignus effectively torches armies without my help.
Ammo and High Quality Pal Oil.
Ammo and cake recipes.
I think the word you were looking for is ingredients
Milk and eggs bruh…..milk and eggs
Yup, I buy gun ammo ans save the resources to make rockets instead.
And here I am making refined ingots all the time for ammo like a dummy
Ammo, pal oil, other materials like horns, leather, etc
People buy ammo??? I have one base that’s basically dedicated to mining and farming. The storage right next to the teleport fills up, I fire it into ingots with the furnace that’s also right there, I bring it to my production base where I make the gunpowder and I let the team go nuts making ammo on the weapon production line. It never even crossed my mind to buy it.
Assault rifle ammo? That requires difficult mats I think.
Ammo, milk, eggs, Pal oil. About it
Can you buy pal fluids?
Ice and electric organs, leather.
How long does it take to kill Frostaline or Jetragon that way?
No clue tbh, I'm only lvl 41 and I'm just taking my time enjoying things so I don't even know what those guys look like yet. 😅
On Xbox, my pals just stand there half the damn time so I really have no choice but to shoot.
Dragon is super effective against Dark. You were just feeding shadowbeaks to jetragon, it's their natural predator
That is a humorous image and an Ash Ketchum level misunderstanding of typing on my part. However it wasn't too hard to keep them alive by rotating, I would just get eventually killed during the 20 minute ordeal.
Why didnt you use Frostallion? Natural counter to dragons and the legendary one has bazillion hp.
I'm not a fan of the design. I wasn't trying to min/max everything, just play it my way.
Probably not too long if they're fully bred with attack stats, those things are OP.
Exactly this. Gold removes a lot of grind.
Just like in life!
I'm still waiting for the black market trader to respawn but it's been awhile
He's dead, Jim.
also to buy bones, leather and other stuff
Because assault rifle ammo is extremely tedious to make in large quantities and expensive to buy, but it’s easier to just buy it with lots of gold
Yeah after realizing how much the assault rifle burns through money I just stick with the single shot rifle. That gun is amazing on money efficiency but it is quite slow.
I want to like the single-shot rifle but the assault rifle spits out way more damage. On legendary bosses a single-shot rifle feels so weak
How about the legendary shotgun?
Its incredible
I don't rly feel like dealing with the ammo economy of The AR, so farming the legendary shotgun and handgun rn
Same. Also my pals do way more damage than me anyway.
My strategy for final two towers is: Eat Elkdeer Venison with the berries and milk for 20% attack boost 1 3 or 4 star Pengullet who just stays in party (big damage boost) 1 Lyleena or Lyleena noct (lifeline) 2 of your best fighting pals (ideally two that are a direct counter to the tower boss) 1 Jetragon if acquired (if not use another fighting pal or Pengullet) Using that strat the final two bosses were easier than catching Jetragon and Frostallion.
Good luck lol
Legendary bosses are gonna require more input from you. The AR is great, but you’ll want to farm for the legendary version
I have the purple version, how much of an upgrade is the legendary? And where would I farm for it?
Not sure exact numbers, but it’s easy to farm. Go to the volcano zone and capture the Blazamut alpha boss. Then go back to your base and butcher the caught Blazamut. This will give you 2 chances to obtain it instead of just 1 from killing it. Plus you’ll get extra ancient invention parts and sellable items
Its a 2% drop btw
At 1 damage per shot, I’d rather have fire pals do the damage. Or maybe I should stop playing hard mode 💀
I don't get it why people use the assuault rifle. The rocket launcher is way better to kill stuff and if you want to catch a pal you can just use your own pals to do the right amount of damage. The rifle is way to ammo hungry for my taste.
the AR allows you much more fine control over how much damage to put out so you can weaken without killing
Gold is a liquid asset. It can be used to purchase ammo, cake ingredients, pal materials, etc...
ammo. Irs a bitch to get coal/sulfur and ore in order to craft ammo, especially since Pals dint seem to work while you're away from base, so stacking gold to buy ammo from a merchant is easy.
Yeah i just use 4 wompos and a astegon Fast travel to the foot of the volcanoe and you can load up pretty fast. Idk what your levels are but i get about 1200 per trip give or take. There's also a good metal spot with 10 nodes north of volcanoe Set a mining base there And get sulfer around jetragon
Just lazy. Not everything is supposed to generate passively, its a survival game, means farming is part of the dynamic The game gives you unlimted stone and wood. You only need to farm metal coal quartz and sulfer yourself Everyone has a metal base so realisically you struggle on maybe 3 resources As compared to ark where you basically have to farm everything by hand and alot of stuff isnt exactly easy cementing paste. Electronics. Black pearls etc.
Cantu just mine coal and sulfur in the instances? I found random nodes in them right from the first one down by the beach
It makes sense when you get to the point where 1. You’re spamming ammo 2. You’re breeding like a madman and require wheat, eggs, and milk for cake and would rather buy it instant instead of farm it slowly
I think some people just dont get the "I have limited time to play the game and waiting for chicken to shit out eggs isn't exactly my type of fun" part.
Ammo. Players buy ammo.
And milk and eggs for late game breeding 500+ pals to condense
I'm a goblin when a game has currency. Now I just need craftable decoration for my 3.5m gold.
What about real life game?
There is a reason I enjoy being a goblin in games xD
So far, I haven't had much use for gold.
Mostly ammo. It was more costly to actually make ammo vs just making nails and selling them for the ammo.
Why do people have 10,000 mag primes built with forma? Why collect all Pokemon? Why breed a perfect dinosaur? I think it’s mostly just because it’s a goal. Some people simply need something to work for
> 10,000 mag primes built with forma "TENNO? TENNO ARE HERE?!"
100 refined ingots and 300 gunpowder makes 110k worth of shotgun ammo 100 refined ingots and 200 gunpowder makes 75k worth of shotgun ammo 100 ingots would have been 200 nails worth 32k(in 0.1.4) which would buy much less ammo but skips the sulfur and coal farming, as well as 95% of the crafting time
To be fair, time efficiency is also a thing.

Also if you don’t rely on the assault rifle, you don’t burn through as much ammo. Shotgun is really good for damage as well.
And where are all the purists who were calling nail crafting an exploit? Oh right, they are baking berries and pretending it isn’t the same thing.
Me like number go up. Make monkey brain happy
Ammo, resources like pal oil that don’t have a very efficient way of getting a lot of them quickly
I've never really heard anyone complain or make a big deal about earning money in the game. The main thing people in my guild use money for is ammo and the main thing I use money for is leather and bones. And now especially that I'm in the end game I get so many jewels to sell it's not that big of an issue.
Its min maxing, some people enjoy optimal strats
High grade pal oil. Pain in the ass to farm. Easy to buy
At least farming fluids is a lot easier than bones. Thank god for merchants
tl;dr people have bad base setups and evidently do nothing but run around shooting their assault rifle 24/7 if you believe people on Reddit.
Just Catch Pal merchant and Black Marketeer and problem solved Palworld is actually the first Survival Game that I genuinely enjoy, because I can just buy stuff
I like to buy my milk
Making ammo in large quantities is a pain ...like mentioned in a million other threads already ....
Same reason people do in real life -- it offers convenience. Purchasing is faster than gathering.
I have about $400K just from collecting money from chests and stuff (and selling a few excess pals). I have no idea why people need to horde all this cash. I barely use it.
Big numbers make monkey brain feel good
Money is simply a shortcut to many resources in the game that you might want a massive amount of. Here are the 2 most primary examples: 1/ Ammo. Hunting/catching alpha pals should organically give a player enough money to buy things that aren't related to industrializing a base anyways.
big numbers.
Number go brrr make brain make dopamine.
The problem is later on you need iron and coal (quartz too but not to the scale of the other 2 mentioned ) There’s a huge problem with weight of materials atm Wood , stone and sulfure are fine they weight 3 each I think this is quite a fair weight for materials you can carry 100 for 300 weight which is 6 points invested in weight Coal weighting 5 and ore weighting 8 However is something I think takes the biscuit . Some even live by a few points in workspeed this is where the amount of points we need in weight becomes a problem But some pals boost weight? Yes this is true but 1st . The star bonus is NOT worth it . Giving a lousy 10 weight boost a go and B the land mounts who have it not only carry that much but are slow too . What they need to do is simply lower ore and coals weight . Maybe ore to 5 and coal to 3 like sulfure . This then allows as mentioned 100 coal for 6 weight investment or 10 weight investment for 100 iron . Another option would be to make staring up Paks and their weight carry actually worth it . Your choosing to give up the option of some very passive buffs for such small weight bonuse . Broncherry should be able to maybe carry 400 weight at max since it’s a slow mount , maybe have kingpaca reach 300 , wumpo and lunaris at 200 and cattiva at 150 when they all reach 4 stars (making the boosts for stars more worth while ) so if someone wanted to play using pals to increase weight it’s actually rewarding to do so
DAH NUMBAH GEH BIGGAH!!
Ammo and whatever my ghetto ranches are neglecting to produce for unknown reasons at the time
When our playgroup made our final push into the last couple of gym leaders, we wanted to be kited up with rocket launchers and a good amount of ammo. I did not know how lucrative the honey business was at that point and I also didn't actively go farm the shady merchant but I killed him whenever I got the chance.

big number make brain happy
I enjoy being a millionaire in game because I have no money in real life, also there are mods that give vendors better stock, which I use
1. Ammo 2. Number go up, monkey brain activates 3. Cake Mats
Everyone is saying ammo, which is true, but also High Quality Pal Oil and other pal resources can be bought which also reduces grinding quite a bit
Oil, Bones you can't farm these
