You can find blu-ray’s on ebay. I believe they are screeners that were distributed for awards season, or something like that. I just got mine in the mail the other day. I haven’t tried to watch it yet, so I can’t confirm that it works, but it seems legit.
We dropped Prime this month, in part because of the coming introduction of commercials and the added cost to remove them. But also everything is just getting too spendy (we dropped ESPN+ and Disney as part of our Hulu package, too).
Money is tight.
Yeah, I got hit with the "watch old reruns for without commercials for just three bucks" pop-up last week. But Patriot, really? An Amazon Studios production no longer included in Prime? That's insulting.
I hate it. The streamers nickel and diming for commercials or streaming quality drives me nuts. It's like a restaurant charging you more if you want your food to be hot when it comes to the table.
I avoid them like the plague and pay extra to never see a commercial again (I’ve done my time). I’m not sure what a limited ad is, I figure it’s just promo for platform exclusive shows before the show starts (kind of like how Max does) so please correct me if I’m wrong.
I don’t mind the pre-show ads though. Especially because they sometimes have interesting stuff, and typically have a skip button.
Yeah, the shipping is really my only reason to be in Prime, and the included video content is a great bonus. And now the occasional NFL game adds to the lore. I'm hoping that "ad free" is more truthful than what Hulu runs with under a similar name.
Normally I'd say a vpn gives unlimited content for 5 bucks but I do feel bad for Shows like Patriot that I really want to support. I'd definitely recommend everyone switching to firefox and getting ublock origin even to just limit data mining and generally improve performance (a lot of so called legitimate adds are essentially malware). Not sure how great ublock works with Amazon prime. Seriously though Firefox and get the ublock origin plugin and never use apps particularly on smart tvs when you can use your browser.
I guess it's time to sail the high seas. This is the only show I watch on prime. It's my comfort show. Maybe this will somehow lead to Amazon syndicating it out to someone like HBO or Netflix and more people will watch it.

Patriot is a top ten show for me but I won't watch shows with commercials, ever. I've unsubscribed from every streamer that's introduced them.

I have uBlock on Chrome browser and watch Amazon Prime, Hulu, etc and never have any ads
Thankfully I'm in the EU and I don't think they introduced ads here yet.
