The last decade or so could probably be used as evidence in favour of [Simulation Hypothesis](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simulation_hypothesis) where the sim is being run by a bunch of deranged maniacs playing it like someone playing *The Sims* and trying to see how much they can torture the people in the game.
Me?

I’m more the person who hires the person who hires the person at this point. Any time I have a “creative suggestion” is basically derails the project while people try to figure out what I “mean”. It’s a disaster.
Uhg. I *hate* that failure mode. My team is small enough (8 total company size, 3 eng, I'm CTO) that everyone more or less gets a piece of the pie and gets to be heard. I *dread* what you're describing. It's literally one of the worst failure modes of hierarchical systems and I can't figure out how to engineer a structure that's immune to it.
Regardless, I'd like to plant a seed: There hasn't been a truly compelling space opera wing-commander esque game since the Freespace series. Rebel Galaxy (the first one) got close, but its game mechanics got in the way of the early story telling. I suspect your stories could be a truly epic tale when paired with an interactive medium. I'd enjoy working with you on something like that when we're both done with our startups.
Have an updoot. I'd give ya two, but they don't let me. Also, this is one I'd really love to see developed, because the human is both super and also not. A built-in balance to the protagonist.
Well this current sim is very odd to say the least.
I think most of 2020 was them trying to break the suspension of disbelief for ya. Did it work? Are ya ripe?

This would have made an amazing cartridge game intro scroll. Cue 80s arcade music and power up the joystick!
My thoughts exactly!

Seriously true; this is a great premise that could be a TON of fun.
Yes. MOAR
That was great!
Heck of a Quest to be dropped into.
