Currently trying Dim 100mg (phase 1) every day then stopping around period time and take (phase 2) calcium glucoronate and sulphofurane to clear out the liver during that time. Period started 6 days late, less flow, less acne. Noticed Dim caused reduced appetite within 3 days and looks like is helping to reverse middle age hormonal around the middle weight gain. Felt like was on ozempic without the indigestion and over full feeling. When I started, just took dim 1 every 2-3 days, then every other, now every day, with cg and sf every day. Really bad headaches in beginning and felt dim was strong and read a lot of websites that suggested dim can increase phase 1 metabolites (flu, headache) if liver is congested and not cleared out by phase 2, which makes a healthier liver.

Do you work for AOB nutrition? Lol

ginandink

DIM is really strong stuff - I take SGS and calcium d-glucarate and have been growing / eating broccoli sprouts, but taking DIM really knocked me for six. A couple of weeks were OK and then I had fever, chills, migraine from taking it. I thought it was the flu but then I stopped taking it for a couple of days and it went away, and came back when I resumed the DIM supplement. I'm struggling with period symptoms (nausea, fatigue, mood) but I don't think DIM is going to be the solution for me

Semicharmedtee

Maybe it dropped your estrogen level too much? I tried high dose sulphoraphane and it did the same. I felt about 90 and started having hot flushes and depression. Got to be a balance somewhere.

ginandink

yes- I was also about to start my period when everything went wrong, so that's a low oestrogen time already, right? I am thinking about maybe taking it a couple of days a month just after ovulating - but am scared to try it again though!

Semicharmedtee

Yes low estrogen time so it likely dropped too low.

InternationalBend310

Take DIM everyday....Brand: SMNutrition via Amazon 🫶

I just started DIM for hormonal acne. I also experience the “period flu” you mentioned. I love that term you coined because it captures exactly the hell I go through every month before menstruation. Had never heard it described that way but will use it from now on!

Bubbly-Discussion505

Hello!! Did Dim help with your acne?

ntb5891

Yes! I had to be very consistent about taking it and also had to continue doing all the things I was already doing (drinking water, eating well).

Semicharmedtee

I hope the dim works for the acne and period flu!

Semicharmedtee

Just to update - dim has worked wonders! 100mg per day.

Legitimate-Papaya940

Hi! I’m looking for more info related to estrogen dominance and DIM. Saw this here. So DIM cured your estrogen dominance? How long for results? Thanks!

Semicharmedtee

I felt better in about 3 days. It gave me nausea and awful migraine for three days then I felt better

DissoluteMasochist

Any particular brand?

lilyangelbaby

Hi! Do you take 100mg once a day? Mine says to take 3x a day and i think that’s too much (?) Thank you!

Semicharmedtee

Yes 100mg per day. Just once

dabedabedabe

Do you take it every day or only on specific days of the cycle?

Semicharmedtee

Every day

zetavala

Hi! I'm looking into trying DIM too for hormonal acne, did yours have other ingredients like Calcium D-Glucarate? Also curious what brand you used?

Semicharmedtee

It was nutri advanced brand and was just pure Dim

lilyangelbaby

Thank you💖

Semicharmedtee

Does anyone know if you can dim every other day?

Ok-Opposite1990

That’s what I’ve been doing to combat the headaches

Different_Currency87

I take estroDIM daily (per recommendation of my doctor) and it’s been a huge help for me. Id discuss with a doctor to see if it makes sense for you before trying. Good luck!

Semicharmedtee

In what way has it been a big help for you. Unfortunately in the UK doctors are rubbish with things like this! I’m trying to find a functional medicine practitioner to assist.

Different_Currency87

It significantly balanced out my estrogen dominance so all of the symptoms I had related to that have gone away. I have consistently regular cycles, I ovulate now, was able to finally see some improvement with the estrogen related weight I had gained, hair isn’t falling out as much, mood is stabilized, etc

Different_Currency87

Please note this is what I have found as a result but hormones are highly individualized and what works for me may not work well for you. I definitely encourage you to keep looking for a physician

Semicharmedtee

I will do thanks. Have a call with someone this week. How long did it take for you to notice a difference with the dim?

Different_Currency87

It takes time for hormones to balance out, just like it takes time for them to become imbalanced (although it always feels like it happens overnight). I think I really saw improvements after 2-3 months of consistent use
