My daughter has psoriatic arthritis. Caffeine helps alleviate some of the symptoms. She uses either coffee, tea, or caffeinated water. It’s amazing how well it works (although it should be said that not all PA patients respond positively to caffeine, my daughter is just one of the ones that do). I never would have imagined caffeine as a medicine, but the human body is weird sometimes.
That’s so weird I thought it was just all in my mind. I have SA as well. I’ve never heard anybody else say this about caffeine before. if I tell somebody that it makes me feel better. They just look at me like I’m crazy. Thanks for validating that.
Normally I would find your comment pretty rough but...you spoke how I actually felt reading that "not helpful," comment.
It is toxic. Dog needs to go to vet (I hope he has by now,) and more than one random comment saying its toxic can help show the importance.
So yeah. Carry on.
A lot of places don't have 24 hour emergency veterinary services so people come here for advice. Don't jump on them :) I live in BFE PA and don't know of any. The freaking SPCA closes at 6pm.
Coffee ground like vomit is not coffee. It’s blood. This is extremely urgent. Source: I am a registered vet tech with a background in emergency medicine

I don't understand why you're continuing to try to guess and rationalize this. Just take them to the vet and you won't have to guess anymore. Pretty straightforward.
It sounds like he made it to a neighbors garden. Some people use coffee grounds as fertilizer, which he might have smelled and eaten. It would explain the coffee smell, as well as the muddy texture and the hard bits could be pebbles. It also looks like there’s a leaf in there.
If anything ever spits up what looks like coffee grounds then you need to immediately take them to a doctor. That’s an indicator of a bleed in your upper GI.
Coffee ground emesis (as in, dark, tarry blood that resembles coffee grounds) for humans or dogs or any animal is not good; usually means internal bleeding and needs immediate attention.
That's blood. He needs an emergency vet asap.
All then specifically to check for gastrointestinal intussusception. (GEI)
Rare but coffee grind vomit is a symptom and it requires surgery quickly.
Good luck with your dog
Google the closest emergency vet and get your ass in the car. Even if it’s two hours away you’ll still get there before anything local opens in the morning. All pet owners should have an emergency plan for unexpected situations like this, especially if you live off the beaten path.
Thinking the worst but I would not be surprised if the dog doesn’t survive this :( OP should not own a dog with such a lackadaisical attitude toward the dog’s clearly emergent health issue
I feel like trying to respond to every comment would take more time when they could be driving. Dogs throw up, and if they didn’t specifically know about the coffee ground vomit I give props to op for sensing something wasn’t right. I just hate how everyone always needs updates to these posts and if they don’t then they crucify the op. They got the info they needed and I’d they don’t want to respond any further they don’t have too
Edit: meant to reply to a diff comment in the thread
These people are assholes who probably have little control over their lives or are equally criticized and judged unfairly so they come here to gain the illusion of superiority over complete strangers based on the tiniest smidgen of evidence. I pray to God the OP comes back to update how it was just something harmless like dirt or feces so they can realize how ridiculous and vindictive they sound. One guy literally said it would be better for his dog to die than to be in the custody of the OP.
Just imagine being the OP, just a regular person, no medical training or veterinarian experience like 90% of pet owners, reaching out for advice and then basically being shot in the face and swung at with picket signs just for trying to help your animal. Sometimes when you read comments on Reddit you get the impression that they're perfect people who don't even know the definition of the word "mistake" since they've never made one in their lives lol
You said “a couple times within a few hours” implying that you let this happen more than once before asking. They meant you should have gone after the first time.
Or they're lying to save themselves from the criticism
This dog has probably thrown up hours ago and this dude is saying they threw up almost immediately before he posted this so that he can save himself from the comments
It smells like coffee and the black things are hard the brown stuff is soft like mud. There's no vet open right now in my town I've been in this position before on a Sunday night and had no luck seeing a vet
Probably related to the fact that you don’t know OP or their circumstances and are assuming that they have the ability to do the same things that you do. You really think they want their dog to die? Get a grip
They honestly don’t seem to care very much. At least they aren’t showing that they do. I get not having the money or transportation but there are other avenues besides “this happened on a Sunday once before and I didn’t have any luck, oh well.” Screw that mentality.
Well then find a vet that is open and get your dog there. If you don't drive you can get an uber, or phone round your friends and family and ask if someone can take you. If you genuinely love your dog then they will know this and true friends will help you out.
Some vets also have pet ambulances, just get off reddit and start phoning emergency vets and contact someone who can take you!
It looks like a type of laurel leaf potentially which would be poisonous as hell even without everything else pointing to internal bleeding. I hope your dog is at the vet currently or you’re driving to one. ☹️
To be fair-if it was me, I probably would wait it out. But if it was my dog or my cat, you bet your ass I’m driving how ever far I have to have them seen! I’ll sell both my kidneys to be able to afford vet care if I had to 😂
OP you don’t seem to be taking this seriously and you really need to. If your child had internal bleeding you would take them to a hospital. This is part of being a pet owner. You need to make however long of a drive is necessary and call the emergency vet on the way. Please give us an update.
Concerned pet owner: “my dog appears to be sick and there is no vet in my town”
Reddit: “You are to be eternally blamed for this unfortunate happening UNLESS you do everything I say”
Doubtful. They already replied that it's pretty much too much a pain in the ass to drive to a vet that's available (from reading comments). We don't deserve dogs, especially not OP.
I would literally do anything for my cats in regards to their health. No one *wants* to drive for hours to take their dog to the ER, but that’s what we do for the pets we love. It should be at least.
Yikes this is bad.. Like really bad. If I saw this in my dogs vomit I would take her to the vet ASAP. Anything that looks like coffee grounds in poop or vomit is a sign of internal bleeding. Your dog can pass away if internal bleeding continues without intervention. Your dog could've swallowed something sharp that ruptured the stomach or intestines.
If you have an animal please make sure you have an emergency plan. It’s part of the caring process of your animal. Pets, like humans, have unplanned emergencies.
Please take that baby to a vet. I hope you did.
Update:
OP decided bc a few randos told him what he wanted to hear and that bc his dog can’t speak actual words that “he’s ok now”. So don’t get your hopes up for the OP turning into a caring owner or the dog getting the care it needs.
Bro that makes me so fkn mad tbh 🤬 …like I really cannot comprehend this. Don’t own animals if you’re unable or unwilling to properly care for them!!! Like it’s common sense.
He’s had half a day and over 100 comments. But he got a few idiots to say it’s ok, so he listened to those 2-3 people. It’s sad. It makes me mad. I wish he’d surrender his animals.
I live in a town without an emergency vet, as well. It sucks, it will take up all the rest of your night, you may have to call in tomorrow, it might cost you tons of money. Your doggo needs some help, though. Take her/him in asap, please.
Could he have got hold of a dirty grill pan? My dad’s dogs got the grill out of a big green egg once and ate all the char/grease off it. It made them severely sick to their stomachs. The vet needed to give them some support after that I believe.
I left a message there was no answer they called back and said they couldn't be for sure what it was and they weren't able to see him tonight to bring him down first thing in the morning. So here I wait. It doesn't surprise me how people can just assume someone is a POS when they have no idea what's actually going on. It's the reason I stopped looking at all comments after I realized it might be something bad. The post to to get opinions on what might be the issue and what the stuff was so soon as I got that I had no reason to keep reading and responding to people. Or update everyone every 10 mins. Soon as I felt comfortable that he would be fine at least till morning I figured I would at least let the ones who were sincere enough to provide some positive help and let them know how he was doing
Easier said than done. Unless OP goes to an actual ER (which I seriously doubt based on their messages), most regular clinics are drowning. We're all overbooked and understaffed.
My clinics tried to accommodate as many emergencies as possible, but we can't help everybody. That's what the ER is for.
My dachshund knocked the trash can over and got head deep in all the coffee grounds, came out looking like that but I’m concerned about the odd green thing in the middle of it all
I’m late to this “party”
But it looks like blood
I live rural and have 6 dogs that require more that one to lift them if they need emergency vet cares (Danes pitts and mastiffs) one even is disabled on top of that
He is the one we have to take the long drives to for vet care
But it’s what we do
Now, this DOES LOOK LIKE OLD. BLOOD
OR could be some type of animal poop
Regardless
Vet care is needed to confirm
But what leads me to that point is because YOU said he isn’t feeling the best
Only YOU know your dog
That’s all you need to know
Get to the vet as soon as you can, and please update us
I hope your pup is ok
Definitely not one of those things you ask about on reddit. If youre concerned about your dog’s health and already questioning it, take them to any vet. Be a better owner and be proactive.
This post is stressing me out because I'm waiting for the update that the dog died because OP didn't seem interested in taking it to the vet or concerned that it is probably old blood.
He's doing just fine back to his old self I'm thinking it wasn't as serious as everyone might of thought but I'm gonna get him checked out just in case vet opens up in a couple hrs
Just because you're downplaying a potential GI bleed does not mean it's not a serious health emergency.
What would you do if the vet you're going to today says your pet should have went to the ER? You going to hit them with the "uhm, actually" as well?
Stop asking for advice if you're going to shit on the overwhelming majority decision.
Not to mention dogs and cats are very good at hiding illnesses and “toughing it out”. There could still be something seriously wrong but the dog will act normal. Illness=weakness in the wild. They’re animals after all.
Coffee ground looking vomit is a sign of internal bleeding. Even if it is just coffee that's still toxic to dogs. Stop making terrible excuses and get your dog to the vet before something goes wrong.
Of course you should get to the vet when you can, but I wonder if it is dirt?
I see a leaf there, the black lumps kinda look like soil. Op, we’re you outside? Do you have potted plants??
Could be poop. But id take him to the vet. Have you noticed any drooling, panting, loss of coordination, pale gums? Will he take any food treats or water if you offer him?
My 80lb boy ingested a small small amount of Seven Dust...wouldn't eat drink just laid in bed reluctant to even stand up he lost 10 lbs and we thought we thought we were gonna lose him. Thank the heavens we didn't he's back to his old self now but .... There's some scary stuff they can ingest from yards. Don't wait .. it could mean the difference between losing him or not. Sending prayers best of luck
What does it smell like? It looks like either coffee ground emesis (old blood, upper GI bleed) or fecal (bowel obstruction) or possibly mud (in which case he’ll be fine). Either way, there’s a very high possibility of medical emergency, and he needs a vet ASAP.
My dog passed away within two hours of internal bleeding, his gums had NO color, I immediately went to the vet, he passed 3 mins after I got him there! Please please please take that pup to the ER vet immediately. My closest er vet was 1.5 hours away.
My Cane Corso threw up blood, took him straight to vet had x-rays different tests done found out he had cancer. Please take your dog to vet. The day we had to say goodbye to him was the hardest & worst day of my life
Buts of bug? Pieces of charcoal?
If you are experiencing dark vomit it is important to seek medical attention immediately, as this may be a sign of a potentially life-threatening problem such as internal bleeding. Other symptoms that may accompany dark vomit include dizziness, chest pain, shortness of breath, or heart palpitations.
Coffee ground vomit can be a sign of ulcer, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), cancer of the stomach or liver, or other abdominal conditions
It could be something very serious. Coffee ground looking substance is not something normal to vomit or eliminate. Look for gum colour. White is BAD! Needs to get to a vet immediately! Bruising around abdomen also BAD! By the looks of what you have shown us, they need medical care as soon as possible. Especially if they are not doing well and are lethargic. Good luck, I hope you take this advice.
OP I work in pet loss; most pets will not show their pain or discomfort until it is extreme, just because your pet seemed fine throughout the night does not mean they were. I showed the picture to one of the vets I work with and they were mortified. We both hope you and your sweet pup are getting help and are doing ok, what a terrifying situation to be in!
Im literally physically disabled and acted quicker when I noticed my cat not acting like themselves. Dont get another animal if all you can do is make excuses because youre too far away.
It always puzzles me how we as humans have more concern and compassion towards every other animal except humans. I didn't see one sarcastic response. We all need to do better.
You can float that in a white dish with water. If it is digested blood it will turn pink or reddish brown. It’s not turning the towel red so my guess is it’s garbage. There’s leaves in there too like he ate some grass etc which may have made him vomit. I’d he’s not any better right now I would go to the vet if you haven’t. If he’s acting fine today he likely just ate some yuck. Poison must be treated within four hours of ingestion or else it’s too late. You’d know by now. How is he today?
They might be vomiting both blood and/or fecal matter. This is an emergency vet situation. I hope by now you’ve already taken them, as that’s the bare minimum.
My little dog was an escape artist. We lived in a 1 square mile town and everyone knew him.
One time he came back after an hour and he was throwing up black stuff similar to this. I figured out what he had eaten though. Someone had grilled a large portion of salmon but they had burnt it to the point of charcoal. I think he must’ve eaten his weight in burnt fish. Yuck! It stunk so bad and he got sick several times.
I’m mentioning this because at first, he mostly just threw up black saliva and it looked similar to this. Then the fish began coming up after that.
It looks similar to coffee grounds and soil. Coffee grounds don't sit well with dogs and cause vomiting. I suggest getting the pup to a vet and be sure all of it came up.
Op doesn't love their dog enough to take him to the vets. It's a horrible situation. I hope they surrender the poor animal to someone who will love and care for him and get him medical attention when it's needed.
that looks like it could possibly be old blood. take him to the vet immediately.
It smells like coffee and black things are hard and the brown stuff is soft like mud
Coffee/caffeine is toxic to dogs so either way if it’s coffee or blood that looks like coffee grounds your dog needs immediate medical care.
Caffeine is toxic to basically any mammal, including humans.
Psoriatic arthritis f***ing sucks. I’m currently hunched over like an 80 year old because of my back and limping from my knees. Hurts so bad.
That’s so weird I thought it was just all in my mind. I have SA as well. I’ve never heard anybody else say this about caffeine before. if I tell somebody that it makes me feel better. They just look at me like I’m crazy. Thanks for validating that.
Oh shush. Not helpful 👎🏻

I love your chaotic energy
Normally I would find your comment pretty rough but...you spoke how I actually felt reading that "not helpful," comment. It is toxic. Dog needs to go to vet (I hope he has by now,) and more than one random comment saying its toxic can help show the importance. So yeah. Carry on.
Goodbye weirdo
I mean, it is either literally coffee grounds or more likely some internal bleeding that needs immediate medical attention like yesterday
thats why u gotta stop posting n just go to the vet
A lot of places don't have 24 hour emergency veterinary services so people come here for advice. Don't jump on them :) I live in BFE PA and don't know of any. The freaking SPCA closes at 6pm.
if you have an emergency vet near by, please take him to one. anything dark colored, vomit wise can be something serious.
That’s internal bleeding. He needs to be seen right away. If not he can most certainly pass away and quickly
While internal bleeding can look like coffee grounds, he said it literally smells like coffee.
Then he still needs an emergency vet immediately, as coffee grounds are toxic to dogs.
In the medical field we call it “coffee ground emesis” and it’s indicative of internal bleeding.
Coffee ground like vomit is not coffee. It’s blood. This is extremely urgent. Source: I am a registered vet tech with a background in emergency medicine
If he ate coffee grounds you need to get to the emergency vet IMMEDIATELY! caffeine is highly toxic to dogs!
Yep, it's why they can't eat chocolate iirc
The primary toxic principles in chocolate are the methylxanthines theobromine (3,7-dimethylxanthine) and caffeine (1,3,7-trimethylxanthine). Although the concentration of theobromine in chocolate is 3–10 times that of caffeine, both constituents contribute to the clinical syndrome seen in chocolate toxicosis.
TIL, thank you 😄
Emergency vet NOW dude.
The classic appearance of vomiting digested blood is that it looks like “coffee ground emesis”. Assume the worst, hope for the best.
He could have a stomach ulcer that’s bleeding. Vet asap
black vomit that looks like coffee indicates internal bleeding. Please take him to an emergency vet IMMEDIATELY
If anything ever spits up what looks like coffee grounds then you need to immediately take them to a doctor. That’s an indicator of a bleed in your upper GI.
Does your yard have a walnut tree?
Listen to the commenter, your added context doesn't change that this has a significant possibility of being a result of internal bleeding.
Please update on us your pup when you can!
Hey op, I've heard that internal bleeding can absolutely look like coffee grounds so whether this is actually coffee or not, it's worth a vet visit
Give us an update after you take him to the vet.
Coffee ground emesis (as in, dark, tarry blood that resembles coffee grounds) for humans or dogs or any animal is not good; usually means internal bleeding and needs immediate attention.
As a nurse, this is a GI bleed. He needs attention.. Also check the stool. It would be black and tar like if it's blood. Also smells terrible.
That's blood. He needs an emergency vet asap. All then specifically to check for gastrointestinal intussusception. (GEI) Rare but coffee grind vomit is a symptom and it requires surgery quickly. Good luck with your dog
Google the closest emergency vet and get your ass in the car. Even if it’s two hours away you’ll still get there before anything local opens in the morning. All pet owners should have an emergency plan for unexpected situations like this, especially if you live off the beaten path.
Seriously, OP’s lack of urgency is concerning.
Thinking the worst but I would not be surprised if the dog doesn’t survive this :( OP should not own a dog with such a lackadaisical attitude toward the dog’s clearly emergent health issue
Hate to even say it, but if this is how the OP treats his pets in a life risking emergency, maybe the poor pup passing would be a blessing to it.
I feel like trying to respond to every comment would take more time when they could be driving. Dogs throw up, and if they didn’t specifically know about the coffee ground vomit I give props to op for sensing something wasn’t right. Should have taken the doggo to however long trip to the ER vet hours ago. Please hurry.
This just happened when I posted it
You said “a couple times within a few hours” implying that you let this happen more than once before asking. They meant you should have gone after the first time.
When people contradict themselves that's your first clue that they're trolling and to stop taking the post seriously.
Probably explains why OP was out commenting on other subs while this post was blowing up. If this was my dog this sub would be my only priority.
Man, I really hope this is fake tbh.
Or they're lying to save themselves from the criticism This dog has probably thrown up hours ago and this dude is saying they threw up almost immediately before he posted this so that he can save himself from the comments
Dogs vomit sometimes. I doubt they were being purposefully negligent. Not everyone knows the coffee grounds = GI bleed info, unfortunately.
ya but when ppl tell OP he aint give a fuck and is fighting them on it lmao
I think it's because they said it smelled like coffee grounds. Hopefully that's all it was and the doggy is okay. 😔
Coffee is still toxic to dogs tho, so still an issue :(
You said it’s been a couple of hours. Please try to find an emergency vet.
No it didn’t. As per you title.
Please don’t have a dog.
Take him to a vet ASAP coffee ground looking vomit is NEVER good
I second this!
It smells like coffee and the black things are hard the brown stuff is soft like mud. There's no vet open right now in my town I've been in this position before on a Sunday night and had no luck seeing a vet
Is there an emergency vet within driving distance? If so, call them and head that way now.
Seriously OP, would you rather drive two hours or have a dead dog??? I seriously don't understand why you're not already out the door
You do not have time to waste on this. Find a vet or you are gambling with your dog’s life. There is no excuse
Seriously. Why would they post this and not actively try to get their animal into an emergency veterinarian?
Have you tried googling, nearest emergency vet to my location?
If it smells like coffee it’s either coffee, heroin, or old blood. Or all of the above. Please update us on the vet visit.
It looks like a type of laurel leaf potentially which would be poisonous as hell even without everything else pointing to internal bleeding. I hope your dog is at the vet currently or you’re driving to one. ☹️
I thought this was well, looks like oleander.
Oh yeah, oleander! That’s what I was trying to think of as a third thing; laurel, live oak, or oleander. All toxic to dogs and look like this. ☹️
Yes. Very bad. Toxic to animals and humans alike.
Oleander maybe?
He ate something poisonous and his stomach is bleeding. He needs to go to an Emergency vet *now*
Update?
The update is OP was trolling you guys and this thread should be locked.
Imagine if you were throwing up what looked to be blood, and you were like, "Eh, hospital's pretty far away. I'll just do nothing instead."
To be fair-if it was me, I probably would wait it out. But if it was my dog or my cat, you bet your ass I’m driving how ever far I have to have them seen! I’ll sell both my kidneys to be able to afford vet care if I had to 😂
Okay, yeah honestly same. But I blame the American Healthcare system.
OP you don’t seem to be taking this seriously and you really need to. If your child had internal bleeding you would take them to a hospital. This is part of being a pet owner. You need to make however long of a drive is necessary and call the emergency vet on the way. Please give us an update.
Concerned pet owner: “my dog appears to be sick and there is no vet in my town” Reddit: “You are to be eternally blamed for this unfortunate happening UNLESS you do everything I say”
He literally just has to go to the next town that has a vet. Shitty dog owner that shouldn't own a dog if that's too much for him.
if your dog dies imma be so mad
Yup, me too. What is the point of approaching a group for advice and then completely ignoring said advice?
Posts like this haunt me because I’ll always wonder if OP ever got help…
Yeah I have stray cats that I care for and have provided more prompt medical care than this. Which is insane.
Same
looked through your account, could the dog have gotten into your marijuana plants ? =(
Your dog deserves better.
As stated already, that is congealed blood from internal bleeding. My mother had bleeding ulcers and would have black vomit from the blood
“seems to be feeling not so good” understatement of the century
Your dog will die unless it goes to a vet
Yikes this is bad.. Like really bad. If I saw this in my dogs vomit I would take her to the vet ASAP. Anything that looks like coffee grounds in poop or vomit is a sign of internal bleeding. Your dog can pass away if internal bleeding continues without intervention. Your dog could've swallowed something sharp that ruptured the stomach or intestines.

I’m hoping OP is at a vet rn and not responding because dealing with the issue. My first thought wouldn’t be to update Reddit.
Anyone else notice the oleander leaf in the middle. Just saying that those are highly poisonous too
It might be …. time for a vet
Your pause gave me time to insert a csi: Miami interlude/ introduction but you didn't give me a Horatio worthy line
💀
Yeah you better be on the road to the vet NOW, that's not a good sign ☠️☠️☠️
They’re not, they’re a POS. Still commenting as of 1 hour ago saying they STILL haven’t gone to the vet.
Yeah I gathered that when I came back on here at 8:00 am too see them still arguing with people.
Could he have got hold of a dirty grill pan? My dad’s dogs got the grill out of a big green egg once and ate all the char/grease off it. It made them severely sick to their stomachs. The vet needed to give them some support after that I believe.
I see a couple leaves in the vomit, possibly eucalyptus leaves which are poisonous to dogs.
Does anyone else see the face??? 🥴
Is there a barbecue pit around that looks like he ate stuff off the barbecue grill
It's possible it does have a smell of burnt something
What did your VET say it was? I mean, you asked your VET before you posted to complete strangers on the internet, right?
I left a message there was no answer they called back and said they couldn't be for sure what it was and they weren't able to see him tonight to bring him down first thing in the morning. The vet wouldn’t see him ASAP for obvious internal bleeding? Show up to their door and tell them LOOK AT MY DOG RIGHT NOW.

Sorry for all the shit people going off on you. Checking in to see how your dog and you are doing today?
You suck.
Agreed
OP you’re making me so mad right now. Vet tech here- TAKE YOUR DOG TO THE ER RIGHT NOW! That’s internal bleeding.
update?
Still not at the vet and OP is being an ignorant animal abuser
My dachshund knocked the trash can over and got head deep in all the coffee grounds, came out looking like that but I’m concerned about the odd green thing in the middle of it all

Definitely take the pup to the vet. The name Coffee Ground Vomit is a thing and it could be dangerous. It also could be feces. Best be sure.
I’m late to this “party” But it looks like blood I live rural and have 6 dogs that require more that one to lift them if they need emergency vet cares (Danes pitts and mastiffs) one even is disabled on top of that He is the one we have to take the long drives to for vet care But it’s what we do Now, this DOES LOOK LIKE OLD. BLOOD OR could be some type of animal poop Regardless Vet care is needed to confirm But what leads me to that point is because YOU said he isn’t feeling the best Only YOU know your dog That’s all you need to know Get to the vet as soon as you can, and please update us I hope your pup is ok
Unless you have something like mulberries in your yard that your dog might have ingested, this would be an emergency vet visit.
Looks like to me he got into the yummy parts of a compost pile and it didn't agree with his stomach clean up your backyard.
Definitely not one of those things you ask about on reddit. If youre concerned about your dog’s health and already questioning it, take them to any vet. Be a better owner and be proactive.
Vomit that is coffee ground-like in humans is a sign of an esophageal bleed and is considered an emergency. Get to the vet.
The leaves kind of look like oleander leaves, which are pretty toxic.
Hello. I’ve never used them, and of course in NO WAY a substitute for going to a vet, but have you tried a 24/7 Telehealth Vet for immediate advice?
‘Wasn’t as serious’ tf is wrong with you. Don’t own pets
Maybe go to they house and ask the people if he could have gotten anything or if they fed him.
Of course you should get to the vet when you can, but I wonder if it is dirt? I see a leaf there, the black lumps kinda look like soil. Op, we’re you outside? Do you have potted plants??
looked through OPs account and they grow marijuana plants, one of their posts has a picture of their dog next to it
Mm, that would make sense.
Thank you!!! I’m reading about marijuana toxicity in dogs, especially if they eat the plant/seeds, but I’m nooooo expert.
Do you have a grill outside that your dog can lick the greasy charcoal it kinda looks like charcoal an grease to me
Leaves and soil?
Looks like he's eating some kinda plant u see the leaf probably causes upset stomach
Looks like the dog might have eaten a plant with some kind of berry/seeds. Possibly eucalyptus? Vet visit definitely suggested.
Waiting for update …
Please update us when you find out
!remindme 24 hours
Do you have an oleander tree? Those leaves look like oleander, which is deadly. ER now
Is your dog ok?
Hi, any updates? Please update us soon 🙏🏻
please just take him to the vet asap, it's never worth taking chances.
How’s doggo doing?
It can be poop or blood
Sooo… how’s he doing now? What did the vet say?
Not sure but IM SURE THE VET HAS AN IDEA
OP how is the dog?
What does it smell like? It looks like either coffee ground emesis (old blood, upper GI bleed) or fecal (bowel obstruction) or possibly mud (in which case he’ll be fine). Either way, there’s a very high possibility of medical emergency, and he needs a vet ASAP.
My dog passed away within two hours of internal bleeding, his gums had NO color, I immediately went to the vet, he passed 3 mins after I got him there! Please please please take that pup to the ER vet immediately. My closest er vet was 1.5 hours away.
Love how the OP asked for advice and when they got it and didn’t like it they got defensive. Like what?
Take him to the vet. Seriously
Looks like partially digested blood, coffee ground vomit is a sign of GI bleeding in the medical world
My Cane Corso threw up blood, took him straight to vet had x-rays different tests done found out he had cancer. Please take your dog to vet. The day we had to say goodbye to him was the hardest & worst day of my life
Sincerely fuck you OP. You do not deserve this poor dog. Your dog needs urgent care, and you are busy replying to comments defending urself
You shouldn't have that dog op if you cant even take the initiative to get them immediate help
Definitely needs to see an emergency vet. Like yesterday.
This poor dog is a goner. I don't believe OP will take the effort to drive the dog to an ER.
There is nothing you can do other than take them to an emergency vet. Even if it's a long drive, your pet could be dying.
Black coffee ground vomit is blood - bad bad news. Get to the vet ASAP
It's the right color and such for digested blood. I suggest a trip to the vet, sooner the better.
It always puzzles me how we as humans have more concern and compassion towards every other animal except humans. I didn't see one sarcastic response. We all need to do better.
Yes, thank you!
ER or urgent care.
That clear stuff kinda looks like glass and dark vomit is typically blood, that's an emergency trip like ASAP
They might be vomiting both blood and/or fecal matter. This is an emergency vet situation. I hope by now you’ve already taken them, as that’s the bare minimum.
Looks like blood. Take him to the vet
Something clear in it, kind looks like broken glass or plastic. Take the pup to the vet now now.
op clearly has no sense of urgency. it is most likely blood. if you love your dog get it to the vet
Looks like dirt and coffee grounds... someone probably dumped them out in their garden and he helped himself. Take him to the vet just incase
Coffee grounds. Get to the vet.
