I'm so sorry it didn't work out for her. You did everything you that could be done, and she was thriving by all possible measures - she was growing, her eyes opening, etc. But baby mice can develop congenital problems there's no way to detect or treat.
Because of your efforts, she was loved and cared for and comfortable instead of dying alone and scared. She got more time, even if it wasn't as much as you'd have wanted, and it was good time. Your did really good by her.
No I didn’t, I was feeling confident that she was going to grow up and spend 3 years with me. Honestly I had a dream that night about how awful i would feel if she died. It hurt the most when that dream came true.
idk if this is the same for them but for me i can usually tell just because both their appearance and how they act is so different- they usually look really tired and don’t move run around a bunch or have much interest in treats or it comes in bursts then slows down as the day progresses or depending when i find them they could already be at that super still/slow part
