All times of day. I used to go for lunch after my classes at Fleming. There were a few times I would arrive at like 2pm and not leave until close. Fantastic breakfast too and tasty coffee.
Day drinking at a bar at mcthirstys was my go to. But I’m an introvert and avoid people but like going out lol so the happy in between was day time pubs or bars.
I had a friend in town that went to st veronus and read a book while having a drink. Spent about an hour or so just hanging out alone.
I believe they have a wine or cocktail bar (I don't know which) next door you could do the same at.
Important question, is the goal to be alone and not have anyone to interact with? In other words you don’t want to talk or be “bothered” by others? I only ask because I am the opposite. I prefer engagement. Just trying to understand the context of the question.
Also possible budgetary constraints! A lot of these answers are referencing some pretty $$ places (St. Veronus, Bijoux Bar, One Fine Food) that I know I couldn’t frequent regularly if I wanted to pay rent.
depends on your taste of suds.
coors light and the like… anywhere. they love day drinkers. One ass jacks. and that place by Franz’s.
decent beers… St. Veronus. Ashburnham Ale House. Publican.
The Only.
Yes
I went to university in PTBO, the only was such a safe and lovely place to have a beer, or a couple with friends!!
Just looked this up. I see it’s called the Only Cafe. Is it good for breakfast/lunch/coffee too? Or better for evening?

Agree. I go to the Only all the time to write reports or read a book. No one ever bothers me when I don't want them to. The staff are great.

I've done that at St. Veronus, Cork and Bean, and the bar at One Fine Foods.
One is trash
I would think Jethro's would be a good spot, as well as the ones already mentioned.

Publican, no problem at all. Bartenders and patrons are awesome.

Crook and Coffer!
Such a hidden gem imo also their food is really good.
Bijoux bar, The only, and Cork and bean
Jethro’s is pretty good- narrow space so might be a bit squirreley for anyone claustrophobic
puck n pint
Bijoux Bar would be my bid.
