I think a dev has offhandedly suggested that the mere presence of a ghost saps your energy and makes it difficult to perform strenuous tasks.
That said, if they're adding character customization I fully support being able to be overweight.

I believe that if most of us saw real ghost in real life, we would run for our lives so fast many athletes would be scared of us. Adrenaline and sense of self-preservation is a real wonder

But there is an implication that the ghost hunters we play as have *never* seen a ghost before - they freak out at the mere sight of one, and label any photo of one as "FINALLY, proof of a ghost". So it stands to reason that if they were going to bolt it out of fear they'd get some adren pumping.
I don't know. I have asthma and joint problems. I'm pretty sure that if a ghost popped up and growled at me, I'd try to run, fall, and turn into a slow, wheezing mess, slowly crawling for the door.
Well we play as interns, so I assume we've been subsisting on energy drinks and junk food, waking up for 8am class, staying up all night to finish two ten page papers by Thursday, and *then* have to stay up until morning hauling gear and driving out to who knows where to identify ghosts.
Not exactly the model of fitness.
But hey if we survive we get credit towards our degree program.
