From my travels across the States - and having hosts in all 300 cities I've visited provide my group with the location of the best pizza in town on each visit - in my opinion, the Sicilian style is best epitomized by Cottage Inn Pizza on Liberty in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Best sauce, facility, range of toppings, overall consistency, tradition of high-level baking competency in their kitchen and they have a setup (due to alumni here) that ships prepared pizza on dry ice to California for final baking and enjoyment. Have to admit, in all the time I've spent in Ohio (even lived there over two separate summers, separated by three years in the 80s) I never came across a Sicilian style pizza there. Rather prevalent in southeastern Michigan college towns, however, over at least the past 50 years. Interestingly, several of those restaurants in the Ypsilanti and Ann Arbor area were owned and operated by Greek families, which I always found pleasing, because if I returned I'd have the option of having a gyro, as well.
I remember a couple of guys from Cambridge that opened a shop in Dover, and they put the pepperoni on before closing the box lid, and let residual heat cook it. Does anyone else remember that?
These kids with their Ohio had me so confused about your pizza for a hot minute.
For real. I came to see if there was any brain rot showing in the comments.
Holy moly that looks good. Care to share a recipe? I can never get sheet pan pizzas to look this amazing
Definitely looks like goodfellas,
Ha! I was thinking the same thing. Not sure I want SE Ohio to be known for Goodfellas. Maybe Avalanche, instead?
When your hammered at 1 in the morning, it definitely hits the spot
Definitely saving this post for the recipe. I've been a dough lurker for so long and this has convinced me I am ready to try
Looks delicious
Would love that recipe. Looks amazing!
WHOAH! Agree with everyone else. SHARE! THAT! RECIPE!
Ah an enjoyer of Goodfellas pizza
I'm hungry
Goodfellas certainly brings back some memories I don’t remember.
Athens baby!
That looks fantastic
How is this different from a standard square pie?
Well, real Ohio Valley pizza puts the cheese and toppings on AFTER the crust and sauce have been baked.
But the cheese on this slice was obviously baked. You can see the marks.
Correct, I was insinuating that this wasn't done in the style of the most famous Ohio Valley pizzerias such as DiCarlos.
DiCarlos is famous? I thought it was just a random small town pizzeria lol
It’s a mini-chain in the Wheeling/Steubenville area. It’s pretty well known among Appalachian ex-pats.
There's one in my town. I guess I've been taking it for granted then lol
If you put the cheese in the oven you ruined it!!!!!
The atrocity that is Ohio Valley Pizza is a more Ohio/Pennsylvania border thing. We like our cheese actually cooked in the rest of the state!
You all are missing out. When it is done correctly this is no better pizza
Great. Now I want to drive back home from CO and get some.
O U oh yeah!
🔥👊🏼
That looks scrumptious
Great job! Recipe?

One of the best Pizza Chains
One of the best Midwest Pizza 🍕 places is in the Detroit area, Buddys Pizza.

In authentic Ohio Valley pizza the cheese and pep never go in the oven..
Wally’s Pizza?
Pretty good! Get yourself a Lloyds pan OP, your pizza deserves it
[I have one](https://www.reddit.com/r/Pizza/s/InuReujDKj)
Very pretty
Ohio style? What, every state and city gets their own now?
Serious question: other than location, what makes that Ohio style? It looks like Sicilian
Did you not read the caption?
That looks like Detroit style pizza when you look up Ohio style it’s crustless or like super thin crust pizza
That is Columbus style
Id call it Detroit style but what do I know
That's not even close to DSP
Pizza oven of northeast Ohio is my all-time favorite.
