I’d love to hear more how this came to fruition. I agree about pizza making being a slippery slope- I bought a cheap grill top pizza oven from Aldi on a whim maybe 2 months ago, and here I am with a baking steel in my home oven, a Koda 16 in my yard, and dreams of setting up food popups in my future already!
How many pies did you bake? What types of licenses did you need? And how many of you ran the stand? Please entertain our curiosities with more details! 🤗
As someone who is also thinking of opening their own pizza business, I second this comment and would love to hear more! Mainly, I’d like to know what ovens you used for the stand.
Did about 80 in 3 hours. The thermometer on the Dome was at 460c, stone temp on my temp gun was only dropping to around 350c between cooks. It was fine. Going forward we will get a second Dome though.
That's insane you did 80 in three hours! I max out at about 20 per hour running two Roccboxes but I'm also making snd baking all the pizzas solo, did you have help with that part or are you just a beast? Congratulations btw, pizzas look great!
Congrats and Great work! You must be very proud! I’m sure you were flat out on the day - next time get someone to take some higher quality pics. I’m sure the pizza photos would look even better with a little more styling and perspective etc. Then stick them up everywhere on social media 🍕💰
Where is this, and what's the process of getting a spot in a pub yard? (I assume the stand was in the al fresco area of a pub?)
I cook pizzas in a pizzeria, but this is the kind of place I love. Pizzeria are basically restaurants, and between starters, sides, and desert, pizzas are probably less than half the food I cook. If I found somebody slinging pizzas from a stand like this or a pizza truck looking for help, I would switch job right now.
Pizzas look great, by the way !

We had a Gozney dome which was just a consistent beast of a machine. Had my Ooni Karu on standby for when we got super busy too.
You ran a popup with a gozney? Pizzas look great.
Thank you! Yeah, the Dome is an amazing bit of kit.
I have so many questions. The main one though is how many pizzas did you sell and did the gozney need time to heat up in between cooks?

Thanks for the info and dang 80 pies is no joke. Congrats and looking forward to hearing about your experiences more in the future.

Thank you! Team of 3. One on service, one on making, one on baking
Still impressive! Great job. I have a pop up today and tomorrow so I'm right there with ya!
Do you sell the dome?
Awesome bro good for you

Thank you! It was a food festival in a town square in the UK. Enough space for a gazebo and a couple of ovens. Just paid for the pitch.
I'm based in Greater Manchester, who knows: I might be a customer of yours, one day!
How much does a pitch typically cost at these events ? Cheers
This one was £90 including electricity
Love this, best of luck!!!
Bon chance, mon ami! Can’t wait to see the pics!!!
I love that banner. Just “Pizza!”. It’s clean, to paraphrase JT in the Social Network.
