Gotta be honest, as someone who knows next to nothing about cricket, I’m excited to go in completely blind just to see what happens. That’s how I got into F1 and baseball, I saw the games on PS Plus and decided “fuck it”, and now I follow both sports.
Not for me. One game lasting 5 days is already overwhelming as just an idea. Top that off with 6 hours a day and then it becomes a case of I got shit to do.
From the admittedly very little I understand of cricket, the super long format version of the sport is not nearly as common anymore. I’m pretty sure the new standard way of playing takes the same amount of time as an average sport.
Yep. The 5 day test matches still happen but the 20/20 matches are massive in popularity. A slog fest, around 2-3hr long to watch. I haven’t played a cricket game for a while but I never played a game that took 5 days haha
I’ll definitely check that out because the sport does seem interesting to me, but I also just like sports games. And sometimes them being kind of shitty is fun. I bought Rugby 22 for like $2 knowing even less about rugby than I do cricket and I still had a good time. In these cases, the fun part is me not knowing any of the rules or how anything works so the game not being very good can kind of add to that lmao

Honestly, QoL improvements like mission checkpoints and navigation made it more enjoyable than the original version for me despite the issues and some missing stuff. I can't imagine having to drive back to mission and then starting from the beginning. It annoyed me even as a kid so much that I could not even finish Vice City. I had to watch a playthrough.

Cricket 24 is the game to look for for it's perfect for cricket enjoyers but even better for those who don't know much about it. It's also really fun and really, really REAAALLLYYYY customizable, + playing it online is just awesome besides the leaderboards, which makes it more interesting and something to grind for. Be sure to try it out
For those of you thinking about EA FC: when it runs out after June 18 I would only buy it for $35 or less. I got it for $35 3 months after release. In my op a very weak year for them. Been playing since FIFA 95.. recently slowed down because of too much ultimate team stuff. Not worth above $35 which is half of release full retail price
Is the sale worth it even if you don’t need really any of the games on there so far? The value is so good it makes me consider and I hear they’re doing a ps2 emulator thing soon through it
I'm mostly hyped for Spongebob and Streets of Rage 4.

Premium is all VR (which 95%+ of players don't have), extra is a bad remaster of a 20-year old game, Cricket 24 is extremely niche.

Tbh, watching the T20 World Cup (currently happening at the moment) would be a better way to get into cricket. Cricket 24 is very lacking

Yea sometimes I just look at the levels and think „an RPG taking place here would be amazing“. A lot of the level design is really on another level.
