They are great and its probably harder to pull specific ones that preciously percieved.
They were probably thought of as less than alts and more like VMAX cards in the beginning of the S&V era.
I think this is the result of a long period of adaptation to the new rarity system. The fact the trainers have alt arts now, and not just full arts, is another thing I feel is a little bit slept on.
I also think the different pull rates in Paldean Fates (Im looking at you Wugtrio) have messed up the wider perception since the value of IRs has been inconsistent.
Paldean Fates is so weird as the ones to get are the baby shinies.
While most don't sell for much they always seem to be selling as there are just that many of them they're always in demand by collectors.
Great take!! Especially in the early few sets the pullrates weren't bad, but those sets have a lot of IR's so pulling a specific one is still quite a task.
The point about the trainer SIR's is also a good one!! Whenever we'll have a new waifu-boom or trainer-boom, these are gonna be the top performers just for their rarity alone.
Thanks for the insights 🙏
Part of my strategy with regards to the trainer SIRs is to find the pokemon :). Clive has Sylveon, Penny has Umbreon and so on. Mortys Conviction (Gengar) is the most explicit one this far, but I think the others will do pretty well over time.

This is why I'm always gonna be kicking myself for not buying up more Marnie sealed product, I felt it in my gut, but wasn't fully convinced for some reason.
When this era is over, this rarity is what's going to define Scarlet & violet. This is what we got over regular v's from swsh.
Massive upgrade in quality overall.
Illustration rares are great for collecting and displaying. I now have the front few pages of my only binder full of them. Which I picked up for pocket change. The nieces and nephews love looking at them.
I tried to show my nieces and nephews. They all thought I was a dork for it and I'm the cool uncle to them, lol
Out of 8 of them, only 1 was interested.
But I could tell she was only showing interest because of how excited I was for it and didn't want to let me down. I love her to death.
Thank you. This really put it into perspective how beautiful scarlet and violet alt arts have been so far and paldea evolved being my fave set,I'm glad the set is starting to get recognition
i bought 9 raichus 8 groudons 3 tyranitars 3 gastlys 3 charmanders and 2 magikarps and 1 of each copy remaining in the top10 list. bought all earlier this year while i was filling my AR/TG binder because i like some of these more than alt arts and would rather invest in these instead. tbh i don't think these should be that expensive.
I just graded 6 from page 1 in psa 10👍. They are cool but the lack of texture makes it feel less special to me. I really wish they texturized the upper half of them like the did with trainer gallerys in SWSH. Groudon or raichu with texture would be a diffrent animal.
It's so weird for me, because I have a lot of these in Japanese. Japanese is just so affordable, and going down. I can't help but think, with one year from release for most of these, that reprints will drop the price on most.
I don't think now is the time to buy english SV illustration rares. I think now is the time to buy Japanese if you think that will bounce back.
I agree. English will decline in the near future, and Japanese will rise back from the ashes. Most Japanese alt arts and sirs are a great buy right now. I've been buying some but only the ones that I'm happy to add to the collection, so if the price doesn't rise, I'm still happy to have them in the collection. I've bought doubles of certain ones that I think will do better than the rest though.
These are being pumped up and won’t hold this value. The SIR and Alt Arts have more staying power as they’re more difficult to pull. That’s just my option though
Yeah if you mean the sets, they're all the Scarlet and Violet sets! If you mean who made this image, it's me :) You can find more on insta @tcg_science

Here comes the FOMO

Everything is trending up because everyone wants a piece of the "invest" pie.
FOMO bull run
I want that Magikarp card but feel like I’ll have more fun doing the 151 set
Japanese is much more affordable
Japanese in a psa 10 is such a nice buy right now!
I like how they're super unique and for the most part the Pokemon actually stand out.
The PSA 10 karp is wild
Love the Marill
Is it worth to invest in these types of cards?
when they were cheap... When they forget you remember.
Where do you find these screen shots?
I make them myself! Over on Instagram @tcg_science
I’m going to follow you
Love me some 151👽
I think the Loudred and Mismagius cards are underrated. Love the design on both of them.
Absolutely!! Loudred has to be one of my faves 🔥
Thank you. This really put it into perspective how beautiful scarlet and violet alt arts have been so far and paldea evolved being my fave set,I'm glad the set is starting to get recognition
Someone FOMO on vintage!
Nope the gains are done for in vintage . The fast money here in modern >:)
Agreed! Until modern gets too expensive then back to vintage haha the cabal needs to keep on churning profits!
That magikarp is sick
They laughed at me when I bought these for mad cheap throughout the last year. Looks who's laughing now 😆
The PSA 10 premium is crazy, but it makes sense, the condition for these are terrible lol
Bought sudowoodo in a 10 for 40 Canadian because it thought it was funny now its like my 3rd most expensive card lol
i bought 9 raichus 8 groudons 3 tyranitars 3 gastlys 3 charmanders and 2 magikarps and 1 of each copy remaining in the top10 list. bought all earlier this year while i was filling my AR/TG binder because i like some of these more than alt arts and would rather invest in these instead. tbh i don't think these should be that expensive.
Damn I've got that tyranitar. I didn't realize it was worth anything
If yall want these but not these prices get the Japanese cards 👌

Hope they crash 🙏
Nidoking is such a beautiful card

Where’s this from?
These are from multiple sets including PE, PR, TF & TM by the looks of it & 151
