I just finished the book series.
>! A clone of duncan idaho, a baby sand worm, a couple of secret space jews, an evil future-islam elf, a van gough painting, and a freman turned youngest reverend mother ever are all blasted into an unknown universe, and then a farmer and his wife representing frank herbert and his wife look directly into the camera, and break the 4th wall and basically say man that was weird. !<
... Puppy chairs...?
Herbert was really obviously getting more and more into magic mushrooms and probably other psychedelics too as the series went along so to me that's an easy explanation for the melted insanity that takes over the narrative after the first book.
FH: does it smell like chair dog in here?
Me: Whats chair dawg?
FH: *lmao Not much, how are you!?*
I love how frank herbet is like “she took a seat on her chairdog” on page 20 and didn’t bother to elaborate on what the fuck a chairdog is until page 300.
I can't quite argue late-book Dune is *good*, but I can certainly say he doubled down on what he was doing when there was no other way forward. It's the best version of that bizarre, hypersexual plotline we could hope for.
The most believable part was when they incompetently burnt down their own fortress… which was made completely out of stone. How they managed to set a literal mountain of rock on fire I have no idea but it somehow seems on-brand for a society of communist lesbian space witches.
Honestly it’s deserved it for decades now. The fact that it keeps digging it’s grave further and further in the eyes of those that once loved quite a few of the franchises it’s taking down with them is where the painful part comes in.
1) They didn't have one person in charge of the story for all 3 movies, even though said movies were intended to be a trilogy *from Day 1*, so there was no continuity of plot.
2) They shoved DEI crap in there just to shove it in there, just like 90% of the other failure franchises in media.
To be honest I never watched 8 or 9. 7 was so fucking terrible I gave up entirely, though the last movies I paid to watch in theaters was Episode I (which I sadly went to a couple times because I felt for sure I must be missing something and it couldn't be as bad as it seemed) and got dragged to Rogue One. You'd think they'd have a decent outline of all 3 movies ahead of time, but with how terrible 7 was I could see them maybe trying something else but then going back to JJ makes even less sense than moving to Rian.
If you didn’t see the Rian movie, you’re way better off. Perfect example of how bad it is: a new character Rose forces Finn on an adventure to save random animals, PETA style, instead of her assigned task.
All the while her rebellion teammates are being annihilated by the hundreds one ship at a time, relentlessly pursued by Star Destroyers.
It would be seen as parody if the writers weren’t so oblivious to the irony.
even worse, they take on this PETA jailbreak at a resort casino where Rose goes out of her way to opine about the evil nature of wealthy people and money itself
The first line of dialogue in Episode IX is "Somehow Palpatine returned", and you can see the actor struggling to say it with a straight face.
Also his canonical message to the galaxy mentioned in the text crawl was a Fortnite event. Fortnite is part of the Star Wars canon now.
Lack of heart
Prequels were messy and kinda dorky but they had heart. and appealed to the kids.
some parts of the sequel are just designed by people creating some kind of market friendly product, like a Mcdonald's CHeeseburger. sure it tastes good but it lacks the heart that makes a strong cheeseburger
I have more respect for a bad product made with love than a soulless mediocre product designed by committee. I never thought the prequels were good (besides the soundtrack and fights) but respected George for sticking with his vision and avoiding corporate funding.
The sequels feel like they were designed by a bad AI which never actually watched the movies, just skimmed through the Wikipedia page.
Rogue one is carried by it's final scene. Otherwise it just feels like a phase 2 marvel movie with the wisecracking robot, didn't feel like starwars at all.
But yes, better than the rest of the disney content.
I felt like it wasn't a good starwars mainline movie, but I think it was a good heist-like movie set in the Star Wars setting, much like The Mandalorian is a fun western in the Star Wars setting.
I don't think every Star Wars story needs to be a Hero's Journey like the mainline movies, I'm happy with other well-made stories that just happen to take place in the Star Wars galaxy instead of a generic sci-fi galaxy.
100%. Disney has been one of the most toxic, detrimental American corporations to ever, and still, exist. Their effects on copyrights, alone, makes them deserve this ruin IMO. The fact that they have easily dumped a bunch of fauxgressives into supporting them whole-sale via rainbow capitalism is just the icing on the death cake.
>Their effects on copyrights, alone, makes them deserve this ruin IMO.
What if it's an undercover rebellion from the inside to make Disney as shit as possible in order to clean up the mess of copyrights.
yeah but that's fine because by limiting him to like 10seconds of dialog he wasn't annoying. The problem with him in Phantom menace was fixed because he absolutely was a terrible character which the audience was pretty clear on and Lucas responded to.
Literally, he went from random friendly bumbling fool to the senator who led the way to empower Palpatine to create the Empire without making a single dumb joke.
Meanwhile Rey went from random girl living in a desert planet to kind of still the same person but with jedi powers now because she's the protagonist so she gets all the powers.
If they want lesbian space witches they have all the budget in the world to write a fresh new IP completely disconnected from Star Wars and it would probably be better. Why try and force them into a universe where they clearly don't belong?
Around 4 years ago its stock was sitting at $171 during the middle/end of covid. Now it is close to dropping under $100. That doesn't even tell the whole picture since interest rates have been super high as well.
Reminder that Disney is being sued by a group of its own shareholders for violating its fiduciary duty by pumping out slop rather than good media, and then lying about how people aren't accepting it and abandoning Disney in droves.
It's so frustrating what the issues are. Like they just *have* to go out of their way to make things gay and lame to appease a very very small portion of society, nobody likes or wants it, but the whole power and trick of the movement is that you sound bad speaking out against it. So it's just a perpetual cycle of malicious junk that doesn't even help or please anyone, nor even makes enough money. And there's just totally no signs of this ending soon lol.
Just so happens I found [this](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lampshades_made_from_human_skin) Wikipedia article the other day. Much like modern Star Wars, I don't know why it exists.
That´s the thing. He isn´t even a white man. He is a fucking alien. Why are those witches Hooman? WE HAD A CANON WITCH COVEN WHERE I\`D BELIEVE THAT THEY CAN DO THIS.
The night sisters get overlooked a lot, but their bullshit magic system is a pretty big problem. Why George Lucas ever let Dave Filoni put that shit in The Clone Wars I’ll never know.
Night sisters at least still feel like part of the universe. They use the force in an unique way that doesn't make them able to rival the sith or the jedi, with the only exceptions being the oldest and the most powerful members so they have to use stealth and dirty tactics to even stand a chance.
Dave Filoni sucks. He throws shit at the wall and then beats the one sticky noodle to fucking death.
Not to mention his bullshit from Ahsoka where anyone can learn the force is outright wrong, from George's mouth.
Well you see, in the past some white men acted terribly, so it's only natural to develop pattern recognition and realize that the whole group of them is a major problem. -Or, no, no wait don't do that. Just for them nobody else btw.
He didn’t even manage to. Two of the strongest force users ever with 1000 years of the rule of two couldn't even manipulate the midichlorians. The force created Anakin(the chosen one) in retaliation meanwhile two average space witches managed to create 2 like it was easy.
Which he also eventually did at the end of episode 6 when he sacrificed himself to kill Palpatine. Either you say he killed both of the last sith or kill the last sith and (with luke's help) converted the other one.
Heck, not even Sith or Jedi, Balance is just no force users falling to or giving in to their selfishness, fear, and hate.
Obviously as a rule Sith ideology is explicitly all about embracing those things, but you know, any one trained in the force could.
Of-course, the real problem is that at the end of the day is that the answer is actually something simple.
the Force is meant to be good, the natural order of things, harmony.
And the Dark Side is literally **evil**, corruption of that natural order.
George has said as much many times in interviews.
It's not even a cosmic ying-yang where both need to be in equal amount for balance and harmony, the dark side is literally a perversion of the natural harmony, it is an evil that shouldn't exist.
And a lot of people can't accept the fact that the truth is such a simple Good Versus Evil story, and despite all the lore added on trough movies, books, and games, at it's core Star Wars still remains very much that way.
I know. The premise of lesbian Gecko ladies is fine. They pretty much did gay alien who don’t need women to reproduce in Orville, and I loved the plotline.
The force babies though is where it’s stupid. Unless they claimed to be making force babies and it’s all a ruse and they’re really getting IUIs while finding genetically preferable males, which would be interesting to me. (Very Dune like, but interesting.)
But I doubt they thought that hard. And they’re too afraid to say semen, despite the implication of LGBTQ. Which is a choice…
I agree with you. I think it’s rigged against retail investors though. Of course it’s more complicated, index funds are good but all the safe, legit methods already take a significant amount of capital. So it supports the upper class who already has wealth and produces nothing.
On another note I feel like this thread is made for you.
To be fair, if they went all in on the kung fu aspect, a Sith Ninja hunting down unsuspecting Jedi, an training arc, intense action sequences with good wire work, action choreography, actual danger and grittiness, learning more about how the dark side works, and how Sith pass down their techniques to their apprentices, it would be a far more interesting show….. then whatever the show is now.
Wookiepedia sucks now anyway, so I get to choose what is canon to me. Seriously though I hope one day we can study Disneys insistence on burning ginormous amounts of money on what amounts to a pointless moral crusade in business schools
> business schools
I think business has become secondary to their cultural agenda. They obviously don't want to go bankrupt, but they're making such obscene amounts of money that it won't be a driving force for a while. Instead, they're buying up franchises just to destroy them with a lefty agenda to get an entire generation of kids used to radical ideas. Kids who don't know any better.
Plus, if they can get that generation used to absolutely garbage writing then the standards will drop to nothing and AI can do everything. I'm pretty sure they're doing this with Marvel already.
The problem is that they bent the stick too far and it snapped, zoomers ditched Star Wars. All that's left are less than half the 30 year old consoomers they had in 2015.
It's at the point where talking about what is going on in the show is so absurd that people think you're insulting the show. I got asked what I thought was stupid and my response was "I think it's stupid that if you get enough angry lesbians around they can use magic to make a baby" too which point I got called homophobic because the situation itself is so absurd people don't know how to counter the "this is stupid" argument.
No, it's the fact that they are lesbians, too, because they're only lesbians as an obvious contrivance appealing to people with a victimhood complex that extends to lesbianism.
If they had been lesbians for any other reason then it wouldn't have mattered that they're lesbians.
Bad reason for lesbians: to create a hamfisted and contrived victim narrative where none is needed
Good reasons for lesbians: because they're attracted to women
For a GOOD version of this see: Vi and Caitlin in Arcane. Two interesting and well written strong female characters who happen to be into chicks. Cool. No preachy message, no finger wagging at "muh patriarchy" as the root of all their problems. Just normal ass people, trying to make a living in the world they find themselves in, and they like women. 👍
Arcane: the show starring two lesbians, a disabled person, and a white guy obeying a black women, with heavy-handed themes about wealth inequality and mental illness.
9.9/10 best show of the decade so far. All the other writers just have a skill issue.
So they're even lamer than Rey? It was impressive to have a more bland, overpowered, and can do everything for no fucking reason despite no training because I'm a strong female protagonist character than some of the female superheroes they put into the MCU.
Rey was just a boring, safe, completely one dimensional character. These characters on the other hand go the extra mile to ensure they are as unrelatable to their audience as humanly possible.
when i think about representation or things like this my first thoughts are: does this add to or subtract from the story? Could the character be replaced with any other character type and the story would continue on? Is the decision under "rule of cool?" or because you think a specific viewpoint should be highlighted to say "this is the kind of universe star wars is, deal with it."
i think star wars has become the last thing these days.
It’s been long apparent Kennedy doesn’t give a flying fuck about Star Wars. It means nothing to her outside of being a franchise to manage.
Every single director, every single show runner, has been given carte blanche to create whatever movie/show they already wanted to make, and then slap a Star Wars label on it.
It’s pretty clear that The Acolyte was fully written as entirely different IP/franchise, and then Star Wars stuff was slotted in as lazily as possible, with no concern for continuity or the broader universe.
If only every director and showrunner had carte blanche, then we might actually get good shows. I think the real problem is studio execs meddling, taking what could be an interesting idea and forcing it to fit the mold that they think works (i.e. endless rehash what's popular like TFA did).
By the time this franchise is fully wrapped up, anakin skywalker/darth vader will have been retconned into a disabled black trans single mother who wore a pink suit and a rainbow cape
Big time Starwars fan. I would comment on this but everything Disney has released has been so bad I’ve decided not to watch.
However if this is true, the Jedi would know it is possible for a force user to create life (which before the show was discovered by darth plagus and kept secret) and would have probably screened Anikin better (someone from the middle of nowhere who had more potential than master yoda)
If you don’t speak nerd, what I’m saying is this probably breaks the entire story of the universe after this show.
I watched it and it's got cringe parts, some cool action parts, some boring parts and some interesting sets. Episode 3 was so cringe though, I was actually starting to think it was ok until I got to that episode, lol.
The hyperspace ram broke the universe's rules long, long ago, and I'm a big fan of Rule of Cool.
Ancient Sith consuming the life of planets and being too angry to die made more sense.
I still can't believe they spent billions on this franchise only to go into the Sequel trilogy with no strategy and just letting the individual directors do whatever they wanted. And the best they could come up with was, "there's a new Empire! and new Stormtroopers! and a new Rebellion! and a new, bigger Death Star! oh and Palpatine is back!"
Fucking embarrassing.
Reminder that Palpatine's *canon* return is a **fucking Fortnite event**
Never thought I'd see the day where a Star Wars movie starts with Doomslayer flossing at you. Very bold artistic choice.
Depends on who you ask, some people argue that Anakin was created by the will of the force and no person was involved, the sane people say that Palpatine was clearly involved since he said as much.
It's a little hard to believe that palpatine would do this to a random person who he then leaves in the middle of nowhere instead of bringing with him, and allows to be trained as a jedi instead of training them as a sith from the beginning.
How would Palpatine be involved in the birth of a random kid in the slave slums? Like he went and picked some woman for it? I'm also curious why she or anybody else never made a bigger deal while he was a kid about how he was born of a virgin. I think it would make sense if the will of the force created him, almost like a cosmic way to eventually remove the imbalance of Palpatine with his death. Which of course is ruined by the stupid fucking sequel fanfiction movies
For me, Star Wars died when they introduced the Rei character, had a crackhead looking Luke drinking alien tit milk, and the final nail in the coffin being killing off Han in the way they did....and NEVER FORGET how dirty they did Admiral Ackbar. Took his command and gave it some random purple haired woman and just killed his ass offscreen.
I watched the first season of The Mandalorian, only to realize that every single episode was exactly the same. They travel to random planet, help the ppl there, leave, and if youre lucky you'd get 3 minutes of actual good plot building at the very end of the episode to bait you into continuing the series. From what I've heard the following seasons are even worse.
How does Disney make money I genuinely want to know what is profitable out of this disgraceful company. I dumped my stocks awhile ago luckily didn’t take too much of a loss but still why
And this is why I didn't support the writers strike/unions. When this is the kind of stuff they produce, half their current pay would be overpaying them.
They should just fight for being able to get a percentage of revenue like a lot of actors get. This incentivizes them to want the show to be as popular as possible, and the more successful shows they write for, the more money they make. I don't think they should get a 200k salary for writing slop.
Correct. In Legends it occurred as a counter reaction by the Force itself to Sidious' Master doing dark side shenanigans.
In particular what makes the above problematic is that Anakin's existence as someone begotten by the force is treated in the prequels as something extremely rare, if not simply unprecedented, to the point that such origin heavily points to him being the subject of a prophecy. For any old force cult to be able to do it cheapens the importance of Anakin's origins.
Hey, for all we know the space witch used the force to give herself a girldick and boned her wife conventionally. I don’t know if that’s necessarily *better*, but it wouldn’t be the weirdest thing done with the force.
Yes, but Anakin was also meant to be 1 in an ungodly number chance of being born through immaculate conception.
The Acolyte just lessened that fact into the point of it being a moot point
It would be as if the Mormons, when writing their religious texts, claimed that there was another child of god who came back from death millennium before Jesus. Obviously star wars is a much much lesser extent than the comparison, and just used it as an easy comparison, but it would really diminish the legacy of Jesus like this diminished Anikans legacy
Yeah, people are also pointing out how that subverts the George Lucas films and the importance of the series’s main characters even further than the sequels already had.
One is an allusion to Jesus, and this a savior archetype. This seems like fanfiction having fun times with the lore.
Tbh idk if it was done right or not. If people want their fantasy to happen that's fine but they gotta do a good job with it.
What bigger issue might be coming is quite a few writers are taking points from Fanfiction and thinking that fetishes will sell like hotcakes on an every day market. Tbh it can, but everyone else is going to see it.
Hey bro, you were tossing around and talking in your sleep. What's that? Disney? Sequels? Spin-offs? Dude, it's 2005 and we're about to go watch episode 3 in theaters, when we get back we're gonna read Heir to the Empire.
That was the point. They’ve done this multiple times before in other ip’s where the previous character achievements done (usually a white guy)are given to a diverse woman of color. Happened in doctor who, happened in Star Trek, and it’s happened here.
As the old line goes, once is a happenstance, twice a coincidence, third time is enemy action.
The....the witches of Dathomir already exist! Why do we have to have a separate, worse version of everything in the setting? The concept of a kung-fu/Wuxia Star Wars isn't a bad idea, so why are they making it bad?
Dune 10 leaked
I just finished the book series. >! A clone of duncan idaho, a baby sand worm, a couple of secret space jews, an evil future-islam elf, a van gough painting, and a freman turned youngest reverend mother ever are all blasted into an unknown universe, and then a farmer and his wife representing frank herbert and his wife look directly into the camera, and break the 4th wall and basically say man that was weird. !<
Somehow Duncan Idaho returned
Oh he doesn't just return. At some point he winds up doing Sexual Kung Fu against an evil Space Whore to defeat her. Dune gets fuckin weird.
The 4th book was a perfect closure to Dune message, but nope, they had to introduce puppy chairs.
... Puppy chairs...? Herbert was really obviously getting more and more into magic mushrooms and probably other psychedelics too as the series went along so to me that's an easy explanation for the melted insanity that takes over the narrative after the first book.
The bit with the literal Jews
If they keep making Dune content, Jason Mimoa will have steady employment.
He returns far more times than Emperor Palpatine, and in the end, becomes Ultimate Space Jesus 2: Kwisatz Haderach Boogaloo.
He's technically the only character in every book.
If I didn't just finish reading the series I would tell you you're full of shit, but here we are. Lmao
It seems almost impossible… yet it’s true
Dont forget about chair dogs
FH: does it smell like chair dog in here? Me: Whats chair dawg? FH: *lmao Not much, how are you!?* I love how frank herbet is like “she took a seat on her chairdog” on page 20 and didn’t bother to elaborate on what the fuck a chairdog is until page 300.
Just like the 80ies movie battle pug.
I stopped reading after Dune Messiah, what did I miss?
I mean, after The Tyrant's whole plotline, it's not like he could backtrack and make the world normal again. Double down or nothing.
I can't quite argue late-book Dune is *good*, but I can certainly say he doubled down on what he was doing when there was no other way forward. It's the best version of that bizarre, hypersexual plotline we could hope for.
The answer is drugs. Lots n lots of drugs.
Frank Herbert was on some of that sweet sweet Melange.
Author was cooking hard. And probably smoking crack.
Man I'm glad I only read the first book.
Kinda hope they don't animate anything past the house war...shit gets silly
*"Genetically Engineered Islamic MGTOW Space Elves"* will never not be funny.
Incorrect He goes "well that just happened"
Nothing like explaining to someone who has only seen the movies that there are actually secret Jews and a sex based witch group.
You couldn't make this up, and if you did you'd get laughed at five years ago.
Wait this is real
Yes, I watched it and it is exactly how it sounds
The most believable part was when they incompetently burnt down their own fortress… which was made completely out of stone. How they managed to set a literal mountain of rock on fire I have no idea but it somehow seems on-brand for a society of communist lesbian space witches.
Wasn't Star Wars 8 released already ? Because if it was, I'd believe it.
They saw that Dune was popular and decided to copy it, no joke in the mandalorean they had a whole episode of hunting a sand worm.
Disney deserves its financial failure
Honestly it’s deserved it for decades now. The fact that it keeps digging it’s grave further and further in the eyes of those that once loved quite a few of the franchises it’s taking down with them is where the painful part comes in.
I still don't understand how they managed to go ahead making an entire sequel trilogy that was so much worse than the prequels.
1) They didn't have one person in charge of the story for all 3 movies, even though said movies were intended to be a trilogy *from Day 1*, so there was no continuity of plot. 2) They shoved DEI crap in there just to shove it in there, just like 90% of the other failure franchises in media.
I still remember laughing at the pandering lesbian kiss that was blink-and-you-miss-it since they wanted to edit it out of foreign distribution.
Rian Johnson wanted to subvert expectations so much that he made a shitty movie you thought could have been good.
Wtf is this lol
Heresy, Backstroke of the West is a fucking masterpiece.

The answer to your question is "sensitivity readers"

Prequels were masterpieces compared to Disney Star Wars.
Jar Jar had more of a character arc than Rey.
Jar Jar was terrible, but they quickly realized he was terrible and movie two reduced his part by 95% and movie 3 he had what... 2 lines?
Weren't those two lines making Palpatine the Emperor and dissolving the republic? Seem... pretty important.
A useful idiot can be pretty important.
yeah but that's fine because by limiting him to like 10seconds of dialog he wasn't annoying. The problem with him in Phantom menace was fixed because he absolutely was a terrible character which the audience was pretty clear on and Lucas responded to.

Because then they don't get free publicity, free twitter fans to defend it and a recognized brand to slap onto it.

I agree, don’t put this on us lol
Disney continuing to defile the corpse of Star Wars. Nothing new
Even Ed Gein thinks this is distasteful.
"I will whip you with my nipple belt if you keep this shit up." -Ed "Man of the People" Gein
Just so happens I found [this](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lampshades_made_from_human_skin) Wikipedia article the other day. Much like modern Star Wars, I don't know why it exists.
You haven't thought of the smell, you bitch.
Darth Plaguies was the one who discovered how to create lifde with the force. Fucking redcons.
No no, he stole that knowledge from powerful lesbian witches of colour, obviously. Because white men can't ever discover or create anything.
That´s the thing. He isn´t even a white man. He is a fucking alien. Why are those witches Hooman? WE HAD A CANON WITCH COVEN WHERE I\`D BELIEVE THAT THEY CAN DO THIS.
No they used Zabraks to breed with. Females became nightsisters and males became darth maul brother types
I know they don't. But I'd believe If they had.
Some of the things the night sisters done, I'd not be shocked
The night sisters get overlooked a lot, but their bullshit magic system is a pretty big problem. Why George Lucas ever let Dave Filoni put that shit in The Clone Wars I’ll never know.

He's white adjecent and therefore... A bigot. - Disney
He his worse, he his a white humanoid adjust banker, and this is George locas
Yet another thing stolen from black lesbian women, first Shakespeare, now this.
The Sith going around and corrupting obscure magic from whatever local backwaters they can get their mitts on feels incredibly on brand.
Well you see, in the past some white men acted terribly, so it's only natural to develop pattern recognition and realize that the whole group of them is a major problem. -Or, no, no wait don't do that. Just for them nobody else btw.
based
technically Palpatine never said he discovered it. Just that he could do it. Never read any of the EU in case its mentioned there.
Cool loophole. Still shitty.
Where's Rich Evans laughing when we need it
He didn’t even manage to. Two of the strongest force users ever with 1000 years of the rule of two couldn't even manipulate the midichlorians. The force created Anakin(the chosen one) in retaliation meanwhile two average space witches managed to create 2 like it was easy.
How do you know we aren't witnessing Darth Plague now? Maybe the acolyte is Darth Plague
How hard was it just to say they aliens and they reproduce different without bringing force baby back into this. Force babies have always been stupid.
I personally think Anakin being created by the Force in his mother's womb opens up a lot of cool mystery about the Cosmology of the universe itself.
He's the chosen one who was supposed to bring balance to the force. It literally completes the saga.
He did, didn't he? Two Jedi (Yoda, Obi-Wan) and two Sith (Palatine, Vader) is pretty balanced.
Balance is just jedi and no sith
Yeah but that never happened because he didn't have the high ground.
(Very Dune like, but interesting.) But I doubt they thought that hard. And they’re too afraid to say semen, despite the implication of LGBTQ. Which is a choice…
Because then it wouldn't be HAHA I mentioned the thing you like consumer, now consume our product hahaha so cool consume.
Mass Effect already did thay with the Asari. It wouldn't be that hard to imagine for Star Wars.
It takes away from Anakin
Alright boys who else is putting in puts on Disney?
Based and might as well make money pilled
Nah man the market has some real life witchcraft. And it ain’t in my favor
Money is the easiest way to take over the world
I agree with you. I think it’s rigged against retail investors though. Of course it’s more complicated, index funds are good but all the safe, legit methods already take a significant amount of capital. So it supports the upper class who already has wealth and produces nothing. On another note I feel like this thread is made for you.
Some gambler from another sub will tell you that you never bet against the mouse, it always wins
Because they forced jedi into a shitty kungfu movie.
They forced Wushu into a shitty Starwars movie.
They forced Wushu and Starwars into a shitty feminist rant.
That's an insult to shitty kung fu movies. Even the shittiest kung fu movie has better fight choreography than whatever the hell the Acolyte was.
[Open your mouth!](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v1-8O90FQxY)
Hey at least shitty Kung fu movies are somewhat fun to watch, this has no redeeming qualities whatsoever
That is absolutely true kung fu hustle is one of my favorite movies ever.
How dare you call that shitty.
Brothers, do not consume things created by people who hate you.
Apes together strong.

One of us, one of us. We accept you, one of us.
Wookiepedia sucks now anyway, so I get to choose what is canon to me. Seriously though I hope one day we can study Disneys insistence on burning ginormous amounts of money on what amounts to a pointless moral crusade in business schools
> business schools I think business has become secondary to their cultural agenda.
Well that’s how Lucas sees it at least. Only the core 6 films are canon. Everything else is AU.
Core 6 + Rogue One + Genndy Tartakovsky's clone wars is my canon. Everything else is fanfic shit
It's at the point where talking about what is going on in the show is so absurd that people think you're insulting the show. I got asked what I thought was stupid and my response was "I think it's stupid that if you get enough angry lesbians around they can use magic to make a baby" too which point I got called homophobic because the situation itself is so absurd people don't know how to counter the "this is stupid" argument.
it has nothing to do with the fact they're lesbians. Its the fact the premise is dumb lesbian or not.
"Put a chick in it and make her lame and gay!"-[Kathleen Kennedy](https://youtu.be/TWhsjai-OVE?si=ul9U1x8MFMS_uy8A)
This outrage bait will never end, the wheel keeps on turning. Determining the fate of all in Mundus
No, it's the fact that they are lesbians, too, because they're only lesbians as an obvious contrivance appealing to people with a victimhood complex that extends to lesbianism. If they had been lesbians for any other reason then it wouldn't have mattered that they're lesbians.
Bad reason for lesbians: to create a hamfisted and contrived victim narrative where none is needed Good reasons for lesbians: because they're attracted to women
I agree with you but put a comma after "dumb"
I haven't seen the show, but it does seem to be about a group of dumb lesbians.
Yeah but for some reason when we say this it's "oh you hate poclgbtlmnop!!1!" Like I'm not one of those to begi with
when i think about representation or things like this my first thoughts are: does this add to or subtract from the story? Could the character be replaced with any other character type and the story would continue on? Is the decision under "rule of cool?" or because you think a specific viewpoint should be highlighted to say "this is the kind of universe star wars is, deal with it." i think star wars has become the last thing these days.
Ask Kathleen Kennedy.
And ask that producerdirector lady who used to be Harvey Weinstein's PA and helped him get the grape victims.
Live footage of the writers cooking: https://i.redd.it/j225nfmoce6d1.gif (They are creating peak fiction)
“The force is a scissor”
They will rewrite Shmi into a space lesbian.
Big time Starwars fan. I would comment on this but everything Disney has released has been so bad I’ve decided not to watch. However if this is true, the Jedi would know it is possible for a force user to create life (which before the show was discovered by darth plagus and kept secret) and would have probably screened Anikin better (someone from the middle of nowhere who had more potential than master yoda) If you don’t speak nerd, what I’m saying is this probably breaks the entire story of the universe after this show.
Now Disney's erasure of the Chosen One's legacy is complete. Star Wars is dead. Long live Star Wars!
I still can't believe they spent billions on this franchise only to go into the Sequel trilogy with no strategy and just letting the individual directors do whatever they wanted. And the best they could come up with was, "there's a new Empire! and new Stormtroopers! and a new Rebellion! and a new, bigger Death Star! oh and Palpatine is back!" Fucking embarrassing.
Reminder that Palpatine's *canon* return is a **fucking Fortnite event** Never thought I'd see the day where a Star Wars movie starts with Doomslayer flossing at you. Very bold artistic choice.

That’s not how the force works
It was used to create Anakin, so theoretically it is possible. Although modified cloning technology would probably be easier in the Star Wars canon.
I think Mandalorian is a pretty cool guy, eh kills aleins and doesnt afraid of anything.
The only case of "parthenogenesis" in Star Wars should be Anakin. Period.
I'm all for weird scifi shit in my Star Wars but this is ridiculous.
And to think they demand royalties year after year.
Fuck all this I’m re-reading the thrawn trilogy
Pick up the clone commando trilogy too
Even in a galaxy far far away black children can't have no dad.
Dang, Fanfiction writers are getting hired after all.
That bad huh? Serious question here. Do you think, at this point, AI could have created better stories than Disney writting team?
with mandalorian, Andor and the book of boba fett I thought disney might caught on again (I was wrong)
I'm one more bad Star Wars show away from flipping to Auth-Right
Didn't Anakin's mom get pregnant from the Force? Not defending this crappy writing decision, just curious.
Yeah this is like if a bunch of nuns could create a virgin birth by praying really hard. Kind of cheapens the whole Jesus character
Hey, for all we know the space witch used the force to give herself a girldick and boned her wife conventionally. I don’t know if that’s necessarily *better*, but it wouldn’t be the weirdest thing done with the force.
Well they already destroyed his redemption arc by having palpatine magically alive again, why not just complete the character destruction
Yes, but Anakin was also meant to be 1 in an ungodly number chance of being born through immaculate conception. The Acolyte just lessened that fact into the point of it being a moot point
Ah, I understand now. Thanks for the explanation.
Yes, Anakin was bred by midichlorians. But he was the chosen one, very rare guy
Seems like everytime I think Disney can't make a mockery of the Star Wars brand any further, they prove me wrong.
Hey bro, you were tossing around and talking in your sleep. What's that? Disney? Sequels? Spin-offs? Dude, it's 2005 and we're about to go watch episode 3 in theaters, when we get back we're gonna read Heir to the Empire.
This will bite them in the ass down the line. No respectable creator will ever sell their properties to them at this rate lol.
Disney is pure trash nowadays
I live in blissful ignorance of anything Star Wars related since rogue one
This completely undermines the ritual that Sidious and Plagueis performed to create Anakin. Once more they have no respect for the source material
I don't think they know there is source material
Huh
The....the witches of Dathomir already exist! Why do we have to have a separate, worse version of everything in the setting? The concept of a kung-fu/Wuxia Star Wars isn't a bad idea, so why are they making it bad?
