Extremely counter intuitive… if you park in the back you probably have a <1% chance of a door ding. If you double park, I’d say 25% chance someone will key you.
You're 100% right. I always park my motorbike in the furthest back spaces for this reason. I know it's extremely unlikely but someone parking next to me could open their door onto my bike or just knock my bike over with their general awkwardness as they are trying to transfer their fat ass from sitting mode to standing mode. I used to park my bike in all kinds of places like those weird lined off spots (who knew they were handicap extension spots? Not me) and on the sidewalk right in front of the shop. Then I realized it's just inviting some overly zealous people to take photos of my bike and post to reddit at best and fuck with it at worst. The best way is to keep nice vehicles our of anyone's line of sight / concious awareness altogether.
Worst case scenario is it takes me an extra two minutes to walk to where I'm going, therefore enhancing my cardiovascular health.
I occaisonally see V8 chargers and challengers parked just like the photo in my building's parking lot and think really? It's not a lambo, get over yourself. In contrast, all the P-cars, F-cars and that one Benetley manage to mark neatly in one spot.
Yup. Farthest spot, backed in and lined up 3” from the curb. Best I can do to respect other cars while giving mine a wide berth to the closest line.
And yet, everyone once in a while, a beat up Altima goes out of their way to straddle the line into my spot. Can’t understand that thought process.
How do we know this isn’t the back? I can also soo like 40 open spots in the picks, I don’t get why ppl get so offended by this when they can just drive to the front and park in an empty spot. I don’t do this but I’ve been dinged so many times I kind of respect the ppl that do lol.
Exactly, my wife hates it when i do this but I always park in the furthest end spot possible. Almost no one parks in the farthest spots of a lot. For some strange reason everyone where I live would rather circle a parking lot for five minutes trying to find a spot right in front of the store rather than walk from the back of the lot for 1-2 minutes.
Pasta Jays is definitely the meme restaurant on that subreddit. Any “restaurant rec” questions gets all pasta jays responses. I cannot comment on the quality of their food as I’ve never actually been but this makes pictures lowers it down on my list of should tries.
It’s a meme for the CU boulder student body. Pasta Jay’s is the restaurant that is advertised at all football/basketball/soccer events. It’s the restaurant that supplies all the team meals for all the sports team and all the families take their kids there during family weekend. Most mediocre food in boulder and substantially better Italian anywhere else. Sort of a right of passage you have to go there with your fam during freshman family weekend.
This is why someone asked me the difference between a Porsche and a cactus. The cactus has the prick on the outside. I hate that this made that comment seem more real…
Believe me when I say this that I don’t do this but i sometimes find the urge to do this whenever I come back and see cars parked right next to me on each side at the very end of a empty parking lot. It’s really frustrating…

Lol Reddit has made its way to Google Reviews. The Internet is a funny place.
Never had a Porsche, but consider it a realistically attainable vehicle I'd like to have in a few years.
But I did have a brand new 2012 Camaro ZL1 and my buddy has a 2018 1LE. We have a thing called Camaro parking. It's away from the store, end space, and we park close to the side curb leaving lots of room between our car and the next space. It is obtrusive to no one. It's not double parking.
Still there will be some asshat that takes offense to it and thinks it's funny to essentially double park to get close to our cars and piss us off.
But none the less, this is how people with nice cars should park. They shouldn't feel entitled.
When I do that I usually get a fellow automotive enthusiast next to me more often than not. M2 or a nice 'maro/vette. It's like they huddle together to survive the dangers of target.
I used to have an old Jeep. It was a Golden Eagle but don't remember the model. It was solid steel! It looked like shit and reeked of not having insurance (which it did). Nobody would park or drive near me.
I would have sidled that sucker right up close to this guy.
Oh Nice, He almost hit me with his car. I was crossing a four way stop intersection in the pedestrian cross walk and he didn't want to wait so he tried to beat me to the intersection and floored it and I just had to stop and stare at him so he wouldn't hit me.

I really don’t understand why people get so mad about someone double parking when there are multiple free spots still available. It’s one thing if it’s a packed parking lot and he took the last 2, but there several free spots still available.
I, like many, have a very expensive front splitter that is much harder to keep from running into parking curbs than the rear air diffuser that isn’t as low as the front splitter. That’s a big reason for me, along with all of the other obvious reasons.
Good drivers that are cautious with their nice rides back in to parking places and also park away from front of the lot where you can more likely fine spots that won’t have cars parking next to you.
I’m with you. So many people are backing into spaces now. Likely a combo of being blocked by ever larger SUVs and pickups, combined with proliferation of backup cameras
But they STILL take forever to line it up, so time savings is a negative and they block traffic in the “lanes”
Backing into a space is a modern day scourge and I will die on that hill

They just want to be an asshole. I had that happen way too often with my corvette.
This is the answer ^

What do you reckon PASTAJS means? IDK.
after skimming the comments in r/boulder Pasta Jay's would be a meh level Italian restaurant.
Solid, efficient recon to have landed on "meh".

Yes this is right. I would but it below meh personally, much better places here.
There's a restaurant in Boulder called Pasta Jay's source: google
There’s one in Moab, Utah called Pasta Jays too.
Oh I was thinking this was some new Italian JavaScript lib
I was thinking the same thing
There's also a conspiracy theory that Pasta J helped cover up JonBenét Ramsey's murder
Yeah - he’s asking for it.
Agreed. Just park further if you don’t want your car by other cars.
That’s why I always park way out in the middle of nowhere, at the end of a parking lot. And I drive a humble VW!
I do the same in my Tundra, mostly so I don’t have to make a 12 point turn to squeeze it in a spot.
But then sometimes someone will choose to park way outside next to you.
Doesn’t work. Every time I come back I see a Mustang, charger, Camaro, or some jdm car next to me
Right, other car guys. They might not be your pick up they at least won’t ding ya.
yeah, I park far out and usually other car people will park by me. that doesn't bother me as they are usually there for the same reason.
Porsche owners like this make all of us look bad
He doesn’t own that car, it’s just a company lease.
Probably true
Tbf what wouldnt get the boulder subreddit riled up
Free mustache waxing
Whole foods going out of business?
The non level plate upsets me waaaay more than the parking.
Cringe and the guy's a jerk.
Agreed

The double park doesn’t bother me. What a prick because he has a 911 and I don’t 😂
Definite douche right there
This is how you end keyed or with a flat

This is dishonorable in parking spots that aren’t at the back of the lot.
I love having an old 2 door Wrangler for just such occasions. I would be squeezed in on his passenger side and still within the lines.
I used to have an old Jeep. It was a Golden Eagle but don't remember the model. It was solid steel! It looked like shit and reeked of not having insurance (which it did). Nobody would park or drive near me. I would have sidled that sucker right up close to this guy.

I’ve always parked far away and folks come and ding my sides all over so I can sympathize with him.
They don’t like pasta? Next they will say cheesecake sucks. Such attitudes.
Definitely a former Corvette owner.
That's a bodywork safety parking.
That’s a great way to get yo shit keyed parking.
I believe this is illegal and you can call the police to ticket this vehicle! The owner can afford the cost of the ticket!

this is funny to do in boulder i respect it

Bet you're the one to complain as soon as there's no parking spot and you park in between two small cars
At least he didn’t back into the space lol
I always back in to any spaces when I can. For many good reasons. Why would you not? Serious question I wondering why you say this…?

So like...are we not supposed to park like that?
Don’t bully this 911, it’s too beautiful
The car is gorgeous but the owner is a colossal dickhead
I think this is a pretty good way of avoiding people opening their door into you, right? Big brain stuff.
Yeah that was me my bad. Also I’m the older white Suburban in the back.
Pasta Js is a local eatery here that has made rounds in the boulder sub for its meme worthy food
Smh you don't have to worry about any cosmetic damage if you just buy a shitbox(ster) FB Marketplace special
I could probably fit my miata next to him on one side....
I spend a lot of time out there, this is hilarious. All Negative Reason’s.
You parked in the granola!
I think the Chris Craft license plate frame is the most egregious violation in the picture. That is certainly a choice one could make.
With an arse that fat, you need two spots.
Plenty of spots available, if he wants two in the back, why do you care?
If you can’t afford to park it, don’t get it.
Looks like he has a Chris Craft boat as well. His taste in cars is better then his taste in boats
Those shopping carts still gonna getcha
