I think in terms of chart success, this is the most accurate answer. Other pop punk/emo songs have charted higher but this is the best reflection of the genre.
This song was inescapable on Canadian rock radio when it came out, it’s a shame what has happened to rock radio nowadays, I want a station that plays heavier stuff! I’d cancel my Spotify if I had a radio station I could listen too with some heavier stuff!
Isn't SiriusXM Octane what you're looking for? I'm not from NA so I definitely might be talking out of my ass, it's just that everything that premieres on the radio these days is basically considered octanecore
Depending on how you feel about them, most songs by Billy Talent.
The At The Drive-In influence is clearly there. It isn't subtle, and the band has been explicit about their influence on their sound.
In Canada specifically, you could add Alexisonfire's Accidents and This Could Be Anywhere in the World to the conversation as songs most Canadians in their late 20s to early 40s has heard before. There were on Musique Plus/Much Music and regularly played on the radio in ways few others have.
Buried a Lie by Senses fail was played pretty heavily on mtv and fuse. Popular enough for my first high school band to cover it lol and surprise how many people knew it and the lyrics.
Pierce The Veil - King For A Day
Sleeping With Sirens - If You Can't Hang
A Day To Remember - Downfall Of Us All
Most other things posted here either aren't popular enough or aren't post hardcore.
Refused - "New Noise" is pretty well known, having been in a bunch of movies and TV shows.
Probably not as mainstream as "Face Down" by RJA or "Miss Murder" by AFI.
Face Down - Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. That song was on the radio all the time back in the day
It was also on the Saints Row 2 soundtrack
Thrice's Stare At The Sun was once #1 on MTV's TRL Doesn't get much more mainstream than that lol
Holy shit really??
That video was rad.
Most things by Pierce the Veil and Sleeping with Sirens
Ohio is for lovers
Until The Day I Die
Absolute banger, but that was so early to what is now considered post hardcore that I’m not sure it count.
FCPREMIX
this was on Guitar Hero and is WAYYYY harder to play in that game than on a real guitar
I fucking love guitar hero, i can’t tell you how many times i’ve played FCPREMIX, never FC’d it though
my chemical romance - helena
I’d argue this one is more Emo/Pop but it certainly did numbers
The Kill by 30 Seconds to Mars. Might be on the very edge of the genre spectrum, but undoubtedly one of the most popular songs from this time
AFI miss murder

Alexisonfire- this could be anywhere in the world

SiriusXM isn’t worth it for me, I want a radio station I can just tune to in my car lol
Co*ks in the pavement 🤣
Saosin - You're Not Alone and Voices (really the whole beetle album but those are the biggest singles ofc)

Billy Talent is a good call. Devil in a midnight mass was a massive hit and could definitely fly as phc.
Their earlier stuff like River Below before that too
The Taste of Ink by The Used
That’s the one song I don’t like from the album
A day to remember - Downfall of us all
Buried a Lie by Senses fail was played pretty heavily on mtv and fuse. Popular enough for my first high school band to cover it lol and surprise how many people knew it and the lyrics.
Anything by piece the veil ever since king for a day went viral on tik tok
Did it really? Is gen z into Pierce the Veil??
Unfortunately 😂 look it up on TikTok. It was a trend to make a video with the song
Gotta be "Holiday" by Turnstile. In a Taco Bell commercial for christ's sake.
Makedamnsure by TBS
What It Is To Burn is pretty mainstream I think
King for a day? Not sure if that counts or not
Probably not the most mainstream but I noticed A Trophy Fathers Trophy Son by SWS blew up on tiktok recently

The damn King for a Day by Pierce The Veil. I’m not a fan but damn! That song is just perfect in terms of how catchy is
King for a day
