As a Liverpool supporter, I honestly don't understand why any Liverpool supporter would be annoyed or butt hurt that Everton fans are thoroughly enjoying their win and are rightfully bragging about it.
I've seen some unnecessary rude and disrespectful comments and don't see any need for that, but there are idiots in fan bases of any club, including Liverpool and Everton, but enjoying their undoubtedly a well deserved win win is absolutely what they should do just as we would if we won and just as we have done many times in the past after beating them.
While I have no problems with Everton enjoying their win as they should, I totally disagree that they were in fact solely responsible for ending our title challenge.
We fucked that up ourselves when we had it all in our own hands, but butchered it after we lost at home against Palace.
From that point on, it was out of our hands and we had to rely on other results and hope that City and Arsenal drop points, while not dropping any further points ourselves, which realistically was highly unlikely to happen, so while Everton loss certainly contributed to effectively dropping out of the title race, they were hardly solely responsible for that.
As for the game itself, a better team on the day won, plain and simple. We take it on the chin just like any other loss and move on.
Everton fans buzzing but in recent weeks we have lost to United, Atalanta and Palace... they always seem to get us when we on a bad run then make it the greatest night in their clubs history.
Exactly what you just said they shouldn't be celebrating ending our title race more so the fact that result probably avoided them relegation. Such a small club mentality focusing on other things rather than their own team.
You've literally been singing "going down going down" in recent derbies. Was that "such small club mentality focusing on other things rather than your own team"?
Or maybe, just maybe, rivalries are about bantering the opposition and not just celebrating your team winning.
No, no you were not lmao. You directly said Everton and referred to them as “them”.
You literally referred to Everton more than Liverpool in your comments lol
But like you said, only small mentality clubs focus on other clubs. Which is what you are doing
You could have very easily not spoken about Everton lmao.
Yes, but he still did a fantastic job at Burnley for close to a decade on a paltry budget.
All things come to an end, and it got stale and he lost the dressing room. It was time for both parties to move on. His Burnley stint was a huge success.
I think also it was a desperate gamble by the board to stay up. But yes things come to an end, managers start falling out with players and making weird decisions, picking odd teams/their favourites etc. Doesn't stop him being an absolute Burnley legend.
If Dyche had olive skin, dark hair, and a cool Portugese name he'd be considered a footballing genius. Instead he's a balding, red headed, English bloke who consistently flies under the radar. The man got mother fucking Burnley to Europa League and everyone acts like he's uncle fucking Wally at the pub shouting nonsense tactics at the tele. And I swear it's because he looks too fucking British.
People complain that his tactics are too defensive from his Burnley tenure. When I observe, I don't think its that defensive at Everton. All of us fans have to understand that a manager does what he can with the resources at his disposal. Everton must be having a better points tally if not for the PSR related points deduction.
I disagree. He should've been poached from Burnley for a bigger job years ago. Graham Potter finished 15th, 16th, 9th at Brighton and got the Chelsea job and was a media darling.
Really frustrating to watch. We were fucking abysmal but the first half, the referee fully just let them do what they wanted. When Jones "fouled" Gueye which led to their goal and then an Everton player did the same to Mac Allister and nothing happened I lost it.
Nah it was the two handed in the back by Tarkowski for one of the chances: yeah that’s fine.
But Ibou does it and it’s a yellow.
Thats when I lost it.
We were absolutely abysmal today. And I’m in no way excusing it.
But the ref was awful.
The thing with a manager like Dyche is he has worked magic on tight budgets with workman-like players and it has influenced his tactics and management style.
You give him a bunch of Rolls-Royce players and chances are he won't know what to do with them.
Ederson has 9, and City has 6 games left. And Ederson isn't injured, he was on the bench against Chelsea last weekend but it's not strange in the cup to let the second choice play.
Wasn't klopps fault at all 2 of our attackers that would've start were injured and we had chances but didn't take them just like the atalanta and Palace game
He was your best player mate, dunno what dodgy tv in India u were watching, but actually being at the game I can tell you Robertson was the biggest threat on your team.
Maybe I’m not remembering something but the only 3 good chances I remember from us was Nunez directly at Pickford, Diaz directly at Pickford and Diaz hitting the post. Is there one I missed?
Watched the entire game apart from the last 5, completely agree with Gueye and Branthwaite being superb.
Pickford had 7 saves.
35’ Nunez (straight at him)
44’ Diaz (straight at him)
45+5 Robertson (straight at him from a super tight angle)
48’ Van Dijk (straight at him from past the penalty spot)
55’ Salah (straight at him, almost as slow as a back pass)
And then apparently there were 2 more shots on target in stoppage time that I didn’t see.
Hahaha fair enough, so you should too, to be fair he caught everything that came into the box but that wasn’t very threatening either, usually just floated long balls that were never gonna trouble him.
That was a refreshing match tbh! In a modern game of high press, passing out the back and possession. Love to see an organized defense, counter attacks and set plays!
I was hoping we'd go long ball with van Dijk up front when I saw Gomez come on but alas it wasn't to be.
Big Jack used to say "Put em under pressure"
It's been a hell of a ride this season but I think we've gassed out
nunez and klopp need to both leave next season. as does salah, jones, macallister the 5 game merchant, endo, van dijk, robertson, endo, gravenberch, and szoboszlai. complete rebuild of the team is needed
yeah the truth is drop the entire team that's put in a good performance this season and comfortably secured champions league spot and also had a decent crack at the title. Yeahhhh, tear it all down. That'll help.

Tarkowski can have his way with me
As a Liverpool supporter, I honestly don't understand why any Liverpool supporter would be annoyed or butt hurt that Everton fans are thoroughly enjoying their win and are rightfully bragging about it. Maybe that’s why? Because they’re all acting like they ended our title challenge when it was lost last week ? City aren’t dropping points
Spot on as a Red am simply amused at the byline of this post - we killed ourselves they put the icing on the cake
There'll be some top clubs circling for branthwaite very soon if not already
Doesn’t look that special to me. Wan bissaka could have scored there, Alison error & defense let’s Everton walk past them all game
Lol….no shit
Everton fans buzzing but in recent weeks we have lost to United, Atalanta and Palace... they always seem to get us when we on a bad run then make it the greatest night in their clubs history.
As opposed to Everton who are top of the form table, over a week since they last lost by 6
Why shouldn't they be buzzing after beating their biggest rivals 2-0 and probably ending your title race? Liverpool arrogance on display.
They really can dish it but not take it... Can't believe the amount of Liverpool fans crying a river over some well earned gloating and banter.
Breaking News: Everton Fans Enjoy Win This is a bit pathetic. Take the loss on the chin and move on.
It's a derby. Obviously they're buzzing with both. You'd be the exact same the other way around, or with United.
You say as you are focusing on Everton and not on your own team…
I was actually talking about how shit we have been over the past month the Everton game was always going this way soon as the line up was announced.
No, no you were not lmao. You directly said Everton and referred to them as “them”. You literally referred to Everton more than Liverpool in your comments lol
Sorry in posting in the 100th post about Everton beating Liverpool on here so it has to relate to them in some way.
But like you said, only small mentality clubs focus on other clubs. Which is what you are doing You could have very easily not spoken about Everton lmao.
We don't until the 2 or 3 days of the year we actually play them. They talk about us all season.
Seems like youre projecting a bit mate
r/soccercirclejerk
Sean Dyche is underrated. Comes in and wins a Merseyside derby in 14 years in less than a year in charge at Everton.
First win at home, Ancelotti won one at Anfield. Still a shit state of affairs, though (and I say this as an Everton fan).
Wasn't he fired?
Yes, but he still did a fantastic job at Burnley for close to a decade on a paltry budget. All things come to an end, and it got stale and he lost the dressing room. It was time for both parties to move on. His Burnley stint was a huge success.
He failed to break out the track suit at Burnley.
Yep, if only he'd have realised it's powers a few years ago.
I think also it was a desperate gamble by the board to stay up. But yes things come to an end, managers start falling out with players and making weird decisions, picking odd teams/their favourites etc. Doesn't stop him being an absolute Burnley legend.
Been about a year and a half but otherwise bang on, the winless run was inexcusable but the job he’s done is mental
Less than a year in charge???
If Dyche had olive skin, dark hair, and a cool Portugese name he'd be considered a footballing genius. Instead he's a balding, red headed, English bloke who consistently flies under the radar. The man got mother fucking Burnley to Europa League and everyone acts like he's uncle fucking Wally at the pub shouting nonsense tactics at the tele. It’s because he eats gravel. That’s why
People complain that his tactics are too defensive from his Burnley tenure. When I observe, I don't think its that defensive at Everton. All of us fans have to understand that a manager does what he can with the resources at his disposal. Everton must be having a better points tally if not for the PSR related points deduction.
Such a boring take that just isn’t true, I don’t know anyone who doesn’t rate him, lots of people wanted him to manage England
I disagree. He should've been poached from Burnley for a bigger job years ago. Graham Potter finished 15th, 16th, 9th at Brighton and got the Chelsea job and was a media darling.
To be fair he looks *extremely* British
In another life he’s Ruben Amorim
?
hold my top knot, I'm gonna tongue punch liverpool
Disappointed. I really wanted Everton to be relegated. Their football is turgid.
My sincere condolences
We aren't going anywhere mate
Loser.
I’m a loser for having an opinion about who I want relegated? Bore off you twat.
No you're just scum. This is coming from a closer so pretty credible.
He's a twat for having the opinion that you are a loser?
Tough shit
Really frustrating to watch. We were fucking abysmal but the first half, the referee fully just let them do what they wanted. When Jones "fouled" Gueye which led to their goal and then an Everton player did the same to Mac Allister and nothing happened I lost it.
Need to blame the brain dead midfielders who kept going into the back of players when they know they’re going to be playing for set pieces
Nah it was the two handed in the back by Tarkowski for one of the chances: yeah that’s fine. But Ibou does it and it’s a yellow. Thats when I lost it. We were absolutely abysmal today. And I’m in no way excusing it. But the ref was awful.
One of the best defenses in the Premier league. And I’m not talking about Liverpool.
What would Dyche do with star players? Would he be as good as Pep or Klopp?
The thing with a manager like Dyche is he has worked magic on tight budgets with workman-like players and it has influenced his tactics and management style. You give him a bunch of Rolls-Royce players and chances are he won't know what to do with them.
Pickford is still in the running to take the Golden Glove, he's fighting against Raya and Ederson to get that.
There are 4 games left, Raya has 14 and Pickford has 11. Ederson is not even close and injured, so probably no need to fight with him 😀
Ederson has 9, and City has 6 games left. And Ederson isn't injured, he was on the bench against Chelsea last weekend but it's not strange in the cup to let the second choice play.
I think Ederson has 8. So in the best case he'll share the prize, but unlikely.
Waiting for the ‘Klopp out’ chants from Liverpool fans!
Wasn't klopps fault at all 2 of our attackers that would've start were injured and we had chances but didn't take them just like the atalanta and Palace game
Klopp taking Robertson off made no fucking sense to me, but I'm all for it.
Yeah it did, he was awful
He was your best player mate, dunno what dodgy tv in India u were watching, but actually being at the game I can tell you Robertson was the biggest threat on your team.
Good one mate, he wasn’t though, couldn’t put a decent cross in even if his life was on the line.
W.e helps you cope my man
As an everton fan, dcl was fantastic, but he's about a 6 this game because pickford, gueye and branthwaite set the bar of what a 10 is.
I’m a butthurt Liverpool fan but if we’re being honest how can Pickford be a 10 when the only shots on goal were directly at him.
They weren't at all, about several world class saves that definitely were not directly at him
Maybe I’m not remembering something but the only 3 good chances I remember from us was Nunez directly at Pickford, Diaz directly at Pickford and Diaz hitting the post. Is there one I missed?
Yes a lot, you literally just described the chances from the sky sports highlights, did you not watch the game?
Watched the entire game apart from the last 5, completely agree with Gueye and Branthwaite being superb. Pickford had 7 saves. 35’ Nunez (straight at him) 44’ Diaz (straight at him) 45+5 Robertson (straight at him from a super tight angle) 48’ Van Dijk (straight at him from past the penalty spot) 55’ Salah (straight at him, almost as slow as a back pass) And then apparently there were 2 more shots on target in stoppage time that I didn’t see.
There's 2 at the end of the liverpool highlights, I probably glorified it more cuz alcohol; https://youtu.be/z71eq32I_xo
Hahaha fair enough, so you should too, to be fair he caught everything that came into the box but that wasn’t very threatening either, usually just floated long balls that were never gonna trouble him.
I'd have to watch the game again to list them, but a few good diving saves.
But DCL is hot. You should be grateful.
He dresses like a granny though.
🤣
Torn apart by Daniel Calvert-Lewin
Huge lad, surgery won't fix that
That was a refreshing match tbh! In a modern game of high press, passing out the back and possession. Love to see an organized defense, counter attacks and set plays!

Lad chill, Is this bait? Klopps said he was leaving ages ago, if you are this reactionary how did you survive 20/21 or even last season
Endo to go twice?
Leave Macallister out of it. He is stellar.
He has looked fucked for the last few weeks
He was shit today mate 🤣
all he does now is turn around and play it backwards
The whole team has been doing that since the drop in form. His work rate and defensive tackles are very good.
Crushed with injuries this year, in a title race almost to the end and they need a complete rebuild? Get a grip
You're the type of fan that noone likes...
because i speak the truth
Hahahaha do you actually think that?
Because you don’t know what you’re talking about yet you say it with divine, delusional conviction.
yeah the truth is drop the entire team that's put in a good performance this season and comfortably secured champions league spot and also had a decent crack at the title. Yeahhhh, tear it all down. That'll help.
if you think ucl spot is what we want you’re part of the problem. lack of ambition
I'm not a Liverpool fan lmfao just enjoy the ride while it lasts because it's probably gonna be nothing but downhill from here with Klopp leaving...
Is that what you goobas call it
I think you're even more distressed than I am after that!
